College first-year Romeo Adachi is a generic boy, studying to be a male witch, with a complex about his first name. In a crazy world filled with magical life forms, Romeo has no special features. Juliet Oyamada, a catgirl who is a year older than him, also has a complex about her name….

One day they meet, and end up hating each other. Then they find out each other’s first name… and chaos ensues.

Romeo and Juliet hate each other, but can’t seem to ever be separated. Especially since their families want them to get married because of their “star-crossed names.” (Even though in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the two families hated each other. Oh the irony!)

At the hidden magic college they go to, only 10% of the current student body is male. Romeo has a long time crush on the cheerful and sporty fox fauna girl, Ashley.

In Romeo’s class, there are 5 boys and 25 girls.

Romeo is an extremely plain guy surrounded by 25 crazy magic girls of all kinds of tropes. This manga is kind of a parody and the tropes are played with.

The world is a magical version of Earth. The school is a college campus that teaches magic, and is a very zany school filed with dungeons and secret rooms. There is also an adventurous twist in the story. Eventually.

The girls also all seem a bit bisexual.

A fauna is a person with animal ears and a tail.

The characters are as follows…

Tsundere girl with twintails- Juliet Oyamada the catgirl. She is messy, aggressive, bad-mannered, but has a good heart… and is surprisingly cute. She has orange hair in wavy long twintails.

Genki tomboy who loves sports- Ashley, Romeo’s initial crush and childhood friend from late elementary. A fox girl who is chaotic, uncouth, loud, deranged. She has boyish red hair.

The modest everygirl- Ichigo the dog fauna who has a crush on Romeo. Has been friends with Romeo since early high school. She has short pink hair.

Most adorable girl ever- Tomona the alien. She has pink skin, black hair, and antennae-like alien ears. Very innocent. She says “boop” after everything.

Shy nerdy book girl- Kyoko the cyclops. Kyoko is quiet, but knowlegable a wide range of subjects. She reads everything she can get her hands on. She cries easily, but hates to do so because a cyclops crying with one eye as is deemed a spectacle of sorts.

Mysterious pretentious girl- Daphne the reptile fauna dragon girl. She fakes being mysterious, basically.

Sassy gyaru girl- Leigh the bunnygirl. Leigh is confident and a bit loud, but kind and quite intelligent. She wears the gyaru fashion style and is a dancer. She is half-Uruguayan.

Masculine fighter girl- Kirara, centaur with an unfitting cute name. Kirara has a shaved head. She does martial arts, and can do a few extra moves due to being a centaur.

Dummy baka airhead girl- Hilda the chubby elfin girl. Hilda’s mind is always somewhere else. She also yells a lot. She is 4 feet and 6 inches. She is chubby.

Shy shrinking violet girl- Tasha the fairy. Tasha can shrink down to fairy size when she wants. She is very shy and doesn’t like to be seen, so it’s often. She is Black and has purple braids.

Sparkly cute idol girl- Aimi the android girl. Aimi was an android built to sing and dance, but she became sentient.

Normal tsukkomi girl- Amanda the harpy. Amanda thinks she’s the only normal person in this whole school. She constantly remarks when people are being Weird. She has a beak. 

Otaku girl- Hyorin, Korean fairy girl. She moved to Japan because she loves anime. Hyorin loves the yuri genre and secretly loves girls herself… She even has two moms.

Classy well-mannered girl- Etsuko who has 3 eyes. She also has lavender skin and horns. She is classy and strict, and cannot handle uncouth things and people.

Wild girl who causes mischief- Meiran, Chinese, undead monster girl. She is always causing mischief and yelling. And living live to the extreme. And yelling.

Genius stoic emotionless girl- Zoey the serpentine girl. Nobody knows what goes on in Zoey’s head, but it’s a lot.

Sweet sleepy girl- Sonya the cyclops monster girl. She has a comfy presence. Sonya can’t wink because she has one eye. She is prone to falling asleep.

Zany inventor girl- Ayana, giraffe girl transfer student from Tanzania. She wears huge nerdy glasses. She also has a long neck. Ayana is always yelling “eureka!” 

The mean queen girl- Minoru, called “Meanie” by boys, ghost undead. Minoru is your classic telenovela mean girl. Why is she so mean? What a snob.

Big sister girl- Urara is Kirara’s older sister and a centaur. Urara is very sweet, protective, and nurturing. She also gets into fights and kicks butt.

Tough punk sukeban girl- Nicole the wolf fauna. A lone wolf, who is similar to Miyu but doesn’t get along with her. They are rivals from opposing gangs. She has… you guessed it, a soft spot for cute things.

Yankee gang girl- Miyu the horned banshee. She is from an opposing gang to Nicole and clashes with her. She is always yelling and is very uncouth.

Goth musician girl- Rune the android alien girl. She loves to rock, demonic style.

Clumsy girl- Anisa the cheerful Indonesian Muslim deer fauna, a baker. She loves to cook but often spills her batter and trips over crumbs… But her cakes and cookies are usually delicious and filled with love… and sometimes random items she clumsily lost in the batter.

Edgy chuunibyou girl- Aurelia Xiomara Petrichor VII. A vampire. Yes, that’s her real name. She is pretentious and is a lord of the darkness.

The plain generic guy- Romeo Adachi. He’s so normal that it’s weird.

Obnoxious friend- Sugano the obnoxious yelling vampire. He is bald.

Handsome senpai friend- Kawamoto the sexy alien. He has a mustache.

Shy guy friend- Kizaki the ghost undead beaver fauna boy. He is soft.

Manly muscle guy friend- Nitta the fat bear fauna guy. He has a beard. He is gentle but kind of strange sometimes. Lots of muscle.

Eccentric teacher- Emma Hoshimi the art teacher is zany and eccentric

Shy teacher- Sori Lee the science teacher is always messing around in the chemistry room and causing explosions. She is very shy though.

Strict teacher- Kasey Elmer the math teacher is usually fed up with students. And life.

Protective teacher- Kendra Wilson is a nice teacher who cares deeply about the students, isn’t afraid to break up fights and get to the bottom of problems.

Romeo’s loyal mutt dog- Miso the brown shaggy dog. He looks like a bear.

An adorable cat who says “nimu nimu”- Poco is a blue cat! 

A flying pig- Spot the winged pig can fly.

A little dinosaur- Toothy the little T-Rex.

A cute dragon- Garnet is an adorable dragon and a school pet.

A cute dragon- Topaz is an adorable dragon and a school pet.

A cute little mascot creature- Konamon is Juliet’s mysterious creature pet. Nobody quite knows what he is, exactly.

Tasha’s talking teddy bear- Cookie is a beloved plush from Tasha’s childhood who came to life.

Chapter 68

We were walking around U.A.'s campus while Togata was talking with Izuku. I was between both of them, Eri was holding my left hand and onto Togata's uniform, she seemed a bit scared but curious, looking around at all the students rushing to make their stands for the Culture Festival.

Some third years came up to us, talking to senpai, and Eri pressed herself against me. Our senpais insinuated that Eri was Togata's daughter so that might have been why she let go of him.

"Okay, letting the jokes aside," the third-year senpai handed us a flyer, "This year class A is going to obliterate, you better come too!"

While I looked it over, I felt a soft tug on my sleeve. The bright red eyes of Eri were looking up at me with curiosity.

"Can I see it too?" I smiled at her and knelt next to her tiny frame. She held the paper with her hands and we looked at it together. "It's pretty."

We looked at it for a bit more before I had to give it back to our senpais. We looked around, seeing students rushing from one way to the other.

"Even with still a month for preparations, they are really busy!" I nodded at what Izuku said, observing everyone. And I saw a dragon head coming toward us, but izuku didn't seem to notice it. I was about to warn him when he turned right as the dragon was a few inches away from his face. "Uwahh?!!" His scream had my right ear ringing.

"My god, Izuku..." he looked at me with a nervous and apologetic smile, and I just chuckled, ruffling his green locks.

"Excuse me..." a head popped from behind the dragon. He was the guy I met at the training camp, with Kendo-chan... his name was Tetsutetsu-kun, right? "Ah, (L/n) and Midoriya from class A."

I saw two more heads popping up, and the blond guy, also known as Monoma, began with his mockering.

Now, believe it or not, he had never said anything mean to me, not sure why though. He didn't seem that bad actually, he just... Like to be annoying toward class A.

But then I glanced down at Eri, and I noticed she was looking at the fake dragon head. I smiled at her, and caressed her hair, she stared up at me, her eyes showing surprise and a bit of fear.

"It's okay, Eri, it isn't real." Izuku turned to look at her too, bending slightly down to her height.

"Are you okay, Eri-chan?" She nodded at him, holding tight onto my uniform.

"I thought it was the person who fell from the sky."

Her voice... so cute! But, wait... person who fell...?

"Oh, you're talking about Ryukyu." Thank you, Izuku. That does make sense now.

"You will do a live show, right?" I looked up at him, Izuku did too, and we nodded together. "I think that would work, but this time I'll tell you directly. Class B will be the best!" I just stared at him curiously. "'Romeo and Juliet in Azkaban: The Return of the King'," uh...what did he just say...? "A fantasy work total and exclusive from class B!"

After he said that, Monoma started yelling nonsense and I could see his classmate holding a wooden stick, getting ready to hit him.

"I'll save you the job," the boy with raven hair stared at me, and I activated my quirk.

Monoma shut up abruptly as his eyes rolled back, his body falling forward and I reached an arm out to hold him. The boy nodded as a 'thank you' and I just shrugged as if it wasn't a problem. After that, Monoma was being carried on the raven's back, and Izuku commented something about Kendo-chan.

"She's participating in the beauty contest, even if she's doing it against her will." I perked up at his words.

"Aizawa sensei didn't tell us anything about that contest..." I agreed with Izuku and looked at Togata.

"Sorry for showing you the bad side of U.A., Eri-chan..." he said to Eri, who just nodded once, as if it wasn't a big thing. "Speaking of! She's really excited about the beauty contest!"

Togata had taken us here, and we saw who he was talking about. Hado senpai was floating with her quirk while Amajiki senpai was taking photos of her.

When Hado noticed us, Amajiki senpai turned around and he nodded at me as a greeting. I smiled at him, and saw him walking closer.

"How are you, senpai?" He smiled softly and stood next to me.

"I'm fine, what about you?"

Before I could answer him, Hado exclaimed something that caught my attention.

"The beauty contest's winner! Third year, class G, from the Support Course, the dazzling Kenranzaki Bibimi-san." And... I don't know how, but I kinda knew who she was.

Maybe because I've seen her once, those eyelashes aren't a joke. What a quirk...

"In this year's contest, Kendo-san, who is winning fans because of the commercial will participate. Hado-san is really excited about it." I glanced at Amajiki senpai as he spoke. "But a presentation in front of the public..." Now he was on his knees, holding his stomach with both arms. I placed my hand on his back, and bending over slightly I tapped his back softly. "Just thinking about that oww... oww... my stomach is starting to hurt!" I saw Izuku sweatdrop at our senpai's behaviour. But I honestly thought it was adorable-

No! I have a boyfriend! Whom I love very much!

But Amajiki senpai is just really huggable...

"That's why this year I will be the winner! This is my last year, after all." Senpai stood up slowly and smiled at Hado, Togata did too.

Our blond senpai closed his fist in a 'Do your best!' way, saying, "You can do it!" We stayed in complete silence for a few seconds, before Togata spoke up once again. "Anyway... let's keep showing Eri around! Our next stop is..."

"...The support department!"

The next thing that was said, was a whole conversation with these two being nerds together about where we were. And while I was looking around, I saw a pretty dirty Hatsume-chan walking up to Izuku from behind him. She noticed me looking at her, and she made me a 'shh' motion with her finger.

"That's right, the Cultural Festival is the moment when the support classes shine!" And after that Hatsume-chan talked about her new creation.

This girl is amazing... although kinda weird... I approve!

She was asking Izuku about his support item when her creation exploded. The three of us immediately took Eri out of the room. We walked around U.A. for a while, and observing around everyone working on their stands, I saw him.

2021, the year of long awaited CD debut!

It became a very fulfilling and wholesome year!

A year where Takahashi Kyohei cried often, a year where Nishihata Daigo lost weight!?

Naniwa Danshi, who made their long awaited debut, looks back to one hectic year!

Fujiwara: In January, we did a live stream of our new year concert, right? It had the joy of being able to do a concert as Kansai Jr.

Nishihata: That was '21. It feels like it happened even earlier than that.

Michieda: It was a wholesome year.

Onishi: Highschool baseball's theme song was also in '21 summer~

Ohashi: Moreover, we did summer tour too

Nishihata: We did watch the highschool baseball while on tour

Takahashi: Our involvement with Senpai also increased. We also received message from Kinki Kids in Music Station

Nishihata: I want to thank them, in person. I wonder if we would be able to meet them during their concert in Tokyo Dome.

Ohashi: I want to go to give our CDs

Nagao: Me too! Best Artist 2021 was really fun too!

Michieda: I was thrown inside Snow Man's dressing room. I went because Meguro-kun called out to me saying “Come here for a second”, yet Meguro-kun didn't say anything. When I was becoming too nervous Koji-kun started to talk!

Takahashi: I went to see SixTONES in the make-up room. Juri-kun asked “Kyohei, are you busy? Have you been not sleeping?”. After that Jesse-kun pretended to kiss my temple area and said “With this you'll be able to sleep, right?”. Seriously, I slept a lot after that!

Nishihata: Uwah~! So cool!

Fujiwara: Many people doing the “Ubu LOVE” pose made me happy. Such as Kamenashi-kun

Nagao: Kamenashi-kun! He did it!

Takahashi: For real!? I didn't know about that!

Fujiwara: Whenever we greet saying “Good Morning”, they respond with silence. That's super cool, right?

Fujiwara: 5 roles? Woah!

Nishihata: It's amazing. Jo-kun has baseball, right? You often appeared in shows related to baseball

Nishihata: As for Takahashi, it was a year in which he often cried

Fujiwara: He cried during the tour, also on YouTube. Isn't it good to finally change the person to someone else from Daigo who cries immediately in the dressing room?

Fujiwara: You're being impossible (laughs). As for Nagao, it's costumes. He designed 4 costumes for one concert.

Nagao: Yes. Though the actual plan was to design 1 costume. I'm thankful.

Onishi: It's cooking for Ohashi-kun!

Nishihata: He cooks and eats well

Ohashi: Right~ Ryusei showed his absolute azato sparkling cuteness in “Azatokute Nani ga Warui no?”

Fujiwara: In “Muchuu sa, Kimi ni” as well! It's a drama he was starring in

Nishihata: Naniwa Danshi's first main solo starring drama

Onishi: I was allowed to do it. Oh? What about Dai-chan?

Onishi: This one year went by really fast

Michieda: In 2022 as well, I want to keep running through without losing this momentum.

Onishi: Yes. Properly and politely!

Takahashi: It'd be the best if we can also do a concert!

Which Johnny's did you talk to often in 2021?

Nishihata: Probably Masakado. Since in 2021 from new year's, we also did concert together/We have done concerts together from the beginning of 2021. Lately I have mostly been in Tokyo. He also comes to Tokyo for drama, that's why I tell him things like “Contact me when you're in Tokyo!”, but our schedule doesn't really coordinate. It might be Ren more in 2022 though.

Onishi: Non-chan (Kotaki Nozomu). He's an elder brother with whom I often used to contact long before the drama where we are co-starring in had been decided. When we went to watch V6's concert, in the waiting room he said “Ryuche, sit sit” , he made me sit on a chair with all the other senpai were standing, I don't know whether it was his kindness or he was just messing around with me!

Nagao: Kojima-kun, we talked and also passed jokes with each other. The other day, we walked after saying let's walk upto the meeting place! Which came to an end after almost an hour. But, after we bought trading cards at the convenience store, we got excited after we got a sparkly card. It was fun!

Michieda: Meguro-kun. Even with the shooting period of our drama Kieta Hatsukoi ending we are still getting along well. One time when I went to Snow Man's concert, everyone's aura was amazing. As I was nervous seeing a Meguro-kun that's unknown to me, seeing that he told me “Don't be so stiff” (laughs)

Takahashi: Everyone from Kansai Johnny's Jr! Since I talk with everyone, there's no specific person in particular. I was happy when Juri-kun and Ren-kun contacted me during our debut. They were also friendly when we met during music shows, that's why, I wish to get along in 2022 as well!

Fujiwara: KojiKen I guess? We often talked during the stage play “Aoki-san chi no Oku-san”. When I have lunch together with Kento, we'd randomly call him and we'd often have meaningless conversations like “We are having lunch now” with him (laughs)

Ohashi: Okura-kun. We often eat together and go out, he listens to what I have to say, on the contrary, there are times when I also listen to Okura-kun. When we went to the shrine together, which is 2-3 hours one way distance, he came to pick me up at our house by car. He's the best older brother who says things like “Contact me before things get tough!”

The bond between Hijikata Toshizo and Okita Souji that was cultivated naturally

Okada: I feel like it is sort of like fate that I get to play Hijikata Toshizo. I can't explain it well, but I always thought it would be a role that I would play. When we were filming, it felt like the [character] was looking at me.  

Yamada: On the contrary, I was not familiar with the history at all. I also had to learn about the Shinsengumi from scratch.  It was my first time participating in an authentic historical drama, so everything on set, including sword fighting, was new to me.

Okada: But Yamada-kun is a once-in-a-millennium talent. Your sword fighting was really perfect.

Yamada: (Tongue tied) I'm happy [to hear that] ...  

Okada: Before we started shooting, he said to me, "Please teach me all the things I don't know." We would rehearse together and explore ways on how he could show an Okita-like fighting style. That said, Yamada-kun could do it right away. That's [why you are] a once-in-a-millennium talent. Did you enjoy your practice?  

Yamada: Very much.

Okada: [The training] included wrestling. You must have wondered, "Why wrestling?" (Laughs) 

Yamada: At first (laughs). [That’s because] you need to use your waist when you swing the sword, right?

Okada: Yeah. Including the approach, he learned things really quickly. 

Yamada: I think there are many actors who want to play Okita Souji. Moreover, Okada-san is Hijikata. However, I would hate for people to think "I'm [only selected for the role] because I'm his kouhai." That's why I want to play [the character] properly.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have the ability [to do it on my own]. So facing that [problem], if I could ask for help, there was no reason for me not to.  But it was not just me [who asked for help].  All members of the Shinsengumi called Okada-san "Teacher!" (Laughs)

Okada: I had the opportunity to choreograph sword fighting scenes in which I was involved. Every time someone finished a sword fight, everyone would look at me as if they were asking "How was it?" (Laughs)

Yamada: We did look.

Okada: Right. That kind of atmosphere sometimes made me feel like Hijikata. Suzuki Ryohei (who played Kondo Isami) was also very good at mood making on set and just like the director of the Shinsengumi, he brought everyone together. In that setting, the relationship between Hijikata and Okita also became apparent.

Yamada: It worked well.

Okada: Yeah. I feel that we were able to play that naturally. We never talked about "Let's do this!"  It just worked (laughs).

Yamada: Perhaps because you are a senpai who I already know...  But on the other hand, you are my actual senpai, right? Nevertheless, [my character] in the movie was cheeky and I poked Okada-san. That definitely wasn’t something I could do normally.  

Okada: Ah ha ha.

Yamada: However, I was surprisingly not nervous when I did it. Since Okita would surely do this.  

Okada: The relationship between Hijikata and Okita was like that of sworn brothers. Although the members of the Shinsengumi might be like that too, but among them, Hijikata, Kondo and Okita had the deepest ties.  I think women like that sort of relationship.

Yamada: That’s true...  

Okada: I asked myself “Why is the Shinsengumi so beloved throughout the times?”, after all, it is an important point. They did cruel things and although objectively speaking, you can’t understand them sometimes, there was a trust that existed among these men. There was a bond between them, right? In a sense, this connection transcends life and death.  

Yamada: Okita really liked Hijikata-san and Kondo-san. Whether it was during his childhood in his hometown or after he joined the Shinsengumi, Okita's feelings [towards them] had not changed at all.  Although there was a hierarchy and discipline [in the group], they didn't matter. He had always thought that, "I like Hijikata-san and Kondo-san, so I'm in the Shinsengumi."  That's why I wanted to cherish that feeling when I was performing.

Okada: After all, movies that depict human [relationships] are good. Hijikata, Kondo and Okita were historical figures. That's why it was easy for us to play them and we were able to emphasize the connection between these characters. No matter how much Hijikata was feared at that time, the connection between these friends remained the core. Hijikata once said "the purpose of a man’s life is to create beauty" and that represented what he held dear to his heart. Although things were cruel, there was beauty within them. As you see the [story of] the people and the era unfold on screen, it will be nice if this idea is reflected as well.  

Yamada went through extreme weight-loss under the guidance of Mr. Okada

Okada: Yamada-kun is cute no matter what. When I watched him working hard, I loved him more and more. Because (of the role), he had lost 8kg, you know. It must have been hard.  

Yamada: Yes ... (laughs).

Okada: Suzuki-kun and I are familiar with that (laughs). When he consulted me [on weight-loss methods], I casually said, "You should try dehydration."  It was a hellish method that I don't want to do again, but it is very effective if you need to do it quickly. Yamada-kun really did it. It was hard, right?

Yamada: That was really something...  

Okada: You often had to act in that condition. Time passed slower and your movements also became more [laboured]. Although that annoyance... was brewing, you didn’t say it out loud (laughs).

Yamada: Was it brewing? Honestly, on the last day [of the extreme diet period], I thought “it might be good to die” (laughs), but the day after “my” death, I had to film sword fighting [scenes].  

Okada: You muttered, "I have sword fighting on this day", I thought you must be concerned (laughs).

Yamada: “What should I do?” I thought and panicked. However, I thought Okada-san and others have experience in [losing weight in a short period of time] and they taught me a lot. Okada-san and Suzuki-san were so detailed that I almost asked, “Are you doctors?”

Okada: I said "Do OO and OO!"  

Yamada: "Huh?", I asked as I took notes to research later. However, if I were doing this alone without any knowledge, I might have used some dangerous methods [to lose weight]. Instead, I was able to trim down to the goal weight correctly.  

Okada: That was cute. Quietly~ eating almonds while conserving energy (laughs). You were very endearing that way.

Yamada: But when I was filming my “weak” scenes, I was scolded a little by Director Harada (Masato).  

Okada: Is that so?

Yamada: I was taking too much time between movements.  

Okada: You couldn’t move right (laughs)? I don't think people who have not experienced it would understand. But I like that scene. Hijikata laid down next to Okita, who was suffering from tuberculosis, and said, "I'm going to sleep here today." It showed their relationship. Although it would not come out of his mouth, I think Hijikata felt calm being next to Okita.  

Yamada: That's right. For Okita, I think Okita was very lonely. Both the Shinsengumi and Hijikata-san were steadily changing. But when Hijikata-san was in front of the sick “me’, he turned back to the old Hijikata-san and snuggled up to him. He showed “me” a side of himself that he never let others see, and “I” liked it.  However, when we were filming the scene, I was just not able to move... that night, when I went to the sauna by myself to reflect [on the mistake], Okada-san also came to the sauna.

Okada: I remember that. But you weren’t scolded [by the director] so much to be worried though. That was just like Yamada-kun.

Yamada: Hm~... 

Okada: As expected, a once-in-a-millennium talent will be a perfectionist. Although that's fine.  

Yamada: I'm really glad you said that. I'm glad we were able to act together and get closer.  

Okada: Hm~.  

Yamada: Eh?! We did not get closer?  

Okada: Nah, we weren’t that distant to begin with. Well, if we compare [our relationship now] to when we were rehearsing before the shoot, I think we have gotten closer. Yamada-kun gave me the most delicious strawberries I’ve ever eaten.  

Yamada: Is that so?! But I'm glad you liked them (laughs).  

The movie scenes and lines that left an impression

Okada: In "Joker", the cut when Joker raised his chin and looked up to the sky was memorable.  The lighting was exquisite. I wanted to know the behind-the-scenes scoop for that scene. It was really amazing that the lead actor could push the momentum forward in the movie with just that. He acted like he was invincible. I think it may be an eternal theme for people in the movie business, it is jam packed with the hopes of the actor who wanted to become that*.

*I’m not entirely sure if I interpreted this correctly, but it’s kind of the filler part of the cross-talk anyway, so I am not too concerned about it.

Yamada: The last scene of "Romeo & Juliet". Juliet revived and looked at Romeo with a smile, but Romeo just drank poison. I cannot forget the surprised face of (Leonardo) DiCaprio when he realized that Juliet was alive. He was in pain and then just died...  Couldn’t he wait another 20 seconds?! (Laughs) This is my favorite movie.

Hijikata & Okita

Okada Junichi

Memorable scene: Okita looking outside grabbed my heart

When the increasingly sick Okita looked at the [view] outside from his room with a hollow expression, the cut was beautiful. The trailer included that scene but when I watched it as part of the finished movie, it definitely left an impression. I saw up close the hard work Yamada-kun himself put in. Since he asked me for advice on how he should [show Okita] using the sandanzuki (the 3 stage thrust, Okita’s special move) while he was ill, I knew about the scenes he was filming. I didn’t actually see the filming of the scene where he was vacantly staring outside and fading away quietly. I saw it for the first time in the final cut of the movie and it grabbed my heart.

Message from Senpai to Kouhai: The image of Yamada-kun doing his best made me cry (laughs)

Yamada-kun is very smart. A good guy. That’s why I think you can indulge yourself a bit. However, you are not in a position to be indulgent, so you won’t do that and that is Yamada-kun [in a nutshell]. There are also a lot of responsibilities you must shoulder in the group.  There are many things you need to care about, to think about, and when I saw you working hard to bring smiles to everyone’s faces, I wanted to cry (laughs). Well, you are great. I hope you can fly high and soar in this splendid era.

Yamada Ryosuke

Memorable scene: I wanted to fight with everyone in Goryokaku

The Goryokaku scene was one where I thought “I wanted to be there”. I wanted to fight together with Hijikata-san, if not, at least I might watch the filming. What was I doing then… I was probably at another job. It was Hijikata-san’s final battle scene, the fight was crackling, he rode a horse too, anyway, it was cool! Although it was a sad scene, you could instantly understand Hijikata-san’s way of life. I was fascinated. It was so cool. I also wanted to ride a horse (laughs).

Message from Kouhai to Senpai: As my senpai in life, I respect Okada-san.

Okada-kun was unusually gentle. Really, like a teacher. When I asked you about things I didn’t know, you would answer no matter what I asked. Moreover, you are not annoyed [by the questions] even a little. It’s not just with me, the way you accept everyone is amazing. There is no distance between you and the staff. As a leader, Okada-san, you made sure the mood was harmonious, so everyone wanted to get close to and talk with this Okada-san. Not only on set but in other places as well. As my senpai in life, I respect you from the bottom of my heart.

Back Shot Story

When Okada senpai got praised by the kirakira Yamada-san, he shyly said, “Is that so!”. When such an Okada-senpai saw Yamada-san’s potential in historical drama, he got excited excited. “After sword fighting, let’s ride horses next! Go practice!”, he suggested excitedly. Does that mean they will act again in a period drama soon?

i’m finally making an actual mha fic post... yay!

since most of these fics are suited to my fanfiction tastes i will be making another in the future with many different ships (to float anyone’s boat).

TodoDeku

Shouto was promised the world when he was born. Unfortunately, fate isn't kind, and he's left with nothing but a broken heart and blazing scars.

Izuku was never "destined" for greatness, but he was sure as hell going to make his mark on the world. With determination and a will to protect, he sets out on the hero's path.

Or, the one in which Shouto is born Quirkless, and Izuku... is not.

Somehow, things work out anyway.

 ★ The Wooing of Todoroki Shouto  by -  crispykrimi

He clasps his hands together and presses them to his forehead. “Please teach me how to seduce someone!”

What follows is the most awkward fifteen minutes of his short life. His friends volley suggestions at him, everything from suggestive comments to practically crawling into Shouto’s lap and kissing him. His head is starting to feel a little fuzzy when someone (goddamnit Kirishima) suggests a strip tease, and really, he has to draw the line somewhere.

“A-ah… Maybe seduce was too strong a word. I don’t know if I could actually do any of those things… I think a better word would be- woo? I want to woo him. P-please teach me how to woo someone.”

Midoriya scrunched up his nose in confusion. “Uh, Shouto, why are you glaring at me like that?”

“I-” Todoroki began to lie, until nausea slammed him like a door to any room that Bakugou entered. “I--” Todoroki grit his teeth, and glared daggers into the wall behind Midoriya. Goodbye, friendship. It had been absolutely divine while it lasted. “Because you’re very attractive.”

They say honesty is the best policy, but it sure as hell had a knack for Todoroki making a complete and utter fool of himself.

In which Todoroki is placed under a mysterious truth-telling quirk and suffers, Uraraka laughs at him, Midoriya is confused but smitten nonetheless, and Twitter is the thirstiest site on the planet.

Bakugou's hearing is slowly deteriorating due to being in close proximity of his quirk, and his constant usage of it. After a visit to the doctors, it's concluded they can never reverse his hearing.

Or: Bakugou literally disappears for one day, and everyone suddenly thinks he's dying even tho he just rlly needs a hearing aid. none of these hormonal teenagers have basic communication skills. Todoroki is also really trying his best in spite of Bakugou continuously calling him "Canadian Flag Fucker".

“Long answer, it’s pretty much the only school dance Yuuei has and it’s third-years only,” Kirishima continues, “It’s supposed to be a celebration of everything we’ve done over the past three years, so it’s super fancy and formal and there’s slow dancing and and stuff like that -”

“Short answer, it’s hero prom!” Hagakure interrupts, barely getting the words out before at least four people erupt into cheers.

Kaminari finds himself head over heels for the newest addition to their class, Shinsou Hitoshi. Normally the flirty blonde would just present himself with open arms but there's a major problem with his infatuation. There's unspoken rules in 1-A and Kaminari is part of the Bakusquad...whereas Shinsou is a part of the Dekusquad. The two can't be together. It's just not possible. There's no way Bakugou would ever allow one of his extras to date Deku's friend.

There's only one thing left to do, give up and move on. Too bad Kaminari can't seem to escape Shinsou.

Aka the fic where Kaminari is Romeo and Shinsou is Juliet and they have to secretly date so their squads don't fall into an all out war.

Finally, I managed to finish the translationg of Mario's Modelpress interview, so here is the rest of it ^^ Thank you for your patience!

He was asked about his ambitions for 2019. He said he wants to spread the range of activities he does and do positive things, but he hasn’t decided how many dramas and stage plays he wants to do. He wants to do a hit and become a “breaking actor” (somebody who becomes popular suddenly). This is his aim for every year. He said he can see the other actors at the same age as him breaking in and he thinks “What do they have what I don’t?”.

Then they moved on to his drama “Koukoku kaisha, danshi ryou no okazu-kun”. The interviewer said he appears in it with Sakiyama Tsubasa, he agreed and added Tsubasa is a good friend of his. He said he didn’t notice this is actually his first starring role in a drama until halfway during the filming. They made the filming from last year’s September for a month and every day was like a turmoil as there were days when they filmed 30 scenes. He was asked to speak about the highlight points and he said he thinks it feels good to return home as a salary man and have a meal together with senpais and friends. The interviewer asked if he really cooked the dishes (in the drama) and he said yes, he even went to cooking classes before. He added he usually doesn’t cook at all. Since his father was a chef, he thought he could succeed thanks to his DNA, but it turned out he couldn’t. But since he’s a strong man, his pretty difficultly made omurice was also okay.

After that he was asked since the musical Romeo and Juliet and Kurosute is coming soon, will he have filming and stage plays as well. He said yes and he wants to find a good balance for them, but this is the most difficult. It would be easier to focus on one way only, but he��ll continue to walk on the thorny path.

Then an interview of him from 2017 was mentioned in which he said he wanted to play in Romeo and Juliet. He was asked now if he decided about it and he said no, he just carried out his words. He said he wanted to do it and he got the power for it. He added if you say what you want to do, it’ll come true. It’s a narrow industry so somebody will see or hear his words.

Lastly, he was asked if he’ll appear in variety shows actively and he said yes, he wants to attend to a lot because he really loves the TV. He pretty much enjoys doing an exciting job. He’s in need for expressing his feelings like “I’m alive”.

And finally, he was asked to give advice or a message for those readers who want to fulfil their dreams and goals. He said: “In a human’s life there are mountains and valleys – by Mario”. He really thinks like that as there are tough and enjoyable things as well. For some reason it’s easy to remember the bad things, but we have to do our best.

Anime Highlights of 2018 (SO FAR!)

I haven’t watched all of this year’s anime because I have a ton of other stuff on the “watch later” list, but I wanted to get my two cents in. I know it’s just the start of 2019 (when I started this post, it was 2018).

For this list, I will be ranking the shows into categories:

Raisin Cookie: Low-Tier

Sugar Cookie: Mid-Tier

Chocolate Chip Cookie: Top-Tier

No sequels allowed! No shows that are continuing from the previous year.

Honestly, there were a lot of good shows this year. Even this summer (which was considered the weakest by many) still got a lot of good shows in. 

This video covers a lot of this year’s good anime.

Raisin Cookie:

Conception 

Read the synopsis. Do I really need to say why? I watched one episode, cried on the inside, then asked why I was even born. 

Goblin Slayer

The first episode was gruesome and horrifying. It was seeping with edge, but I couldn’t figure out why they would make that the first episode if the rest of the anime was just an ecchi harem. We knew this would be a disappointment, but we didn’t know it would be a disappointment because of that.

Bakumatsu

I watched the first episode and wondered why I even tried watching this. You can’t carry a show with just voice casting and arguable fujoshi-baiting. 

Mahou Shoujo Site

This rivals Goblin Slayer’s edge. Mahou Shoujo Ore takes the magical girl genre and makes fun of it through comedy. This makes fun of it through gore. Think of it as an extremely poorly done, awfully written, badly executed attempt of trying to recreate a show like Madoka Magica.

Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes 

For a mystery show, this show was sure full of bullcrap and nonsense. I watched the first few episodes and found myself disliking this anime.

Kitsune no Koe 

I watched nine episodes before giving up. The music is subpar. The acting is subpar because the story and script are so poorly done. I would even argue the casting is all wrong.

Akkun to Kanojo

I just don’t like relationships where people are overly tsundere. I get the whole getting flustered thing, but resorting to violence and bullying over it is not my thing. This guy is so mean to his girlfriend, and sure, some people might enjoy it (which is why it’s the top of the trash pile), but I didn’t enjoy it at all.

Sugar Cookie:

Mahou Shoujo Ore

This show was supposed to be stupid. That’s the point. But the jokes get overused and stale after a while, and I found myself wanting it to be over near the end. It got me to laugh once every couple of episodes, but that’s about it.

Devils Line

This was a cringy vampire romance. That about sums it up in a nutshell. Miyuki Sawashiro deserved a more badass character, and so did Yui Ishikawa. Still better than Twilight.

Satsuriku no Tenshi

This was edgy like Mahou Shoujo Site and Goblin Slayer, but this show didn’t take itself as seriously. For the video game fans, they pretty much followed the story of the game. There were little to no discrepancies. But if you are only watching the anime, you’ll find this show so cringy and awful. Kudos to Nobuhiko Okamoto who took on this role knowing that it would strain his vocal cords.

Ani ni Tsukeru Kusuri wa Nai! 2

The charm of the first season was just lost. They had a lot of hit-and-miss episodes where I was either going to like it or think it was a waste of time. I want more sibling antics and fewer love triangles, but it was still a solid season.

3D Kanojo: Real Girl 

I watched three episodes of this, and as much as I wouldn’t mind watching more, I couldn’t build attachment to any of these characters. I felt nothing for the story either. Okay, so a pretty misunderstood girl gets into a relationship with an otaku... what else?

Tada-kun wa Koi wo Shinai

I watched this because the OP was so darn good, the art looked nice, and it gave off the same vibes as Gekkan Shoujo, but it ultimately disappointed me with the ending and the whirlwind of “Wait... what just happened?” The relationships were not developed enough and came out of nowhere like the truck in Zombieland Saga.

Phantom in the Twilight

Giving this the benefit of the doubt... this didn’t make it past this category because the art was so poorly done that I found myself wondering what the budget even was. The story wasn’t even as poorly done as other otome game adaptations (actually, this one is an original I think?) A Kana Hanazawa lead bumps this show up a notch though.

Nil Admirari no Tenbin

This is probably right beside the previous entry, but this one had better character designs. It was another otome game adaptations... why do I even try? It was okay. It’s more episodic than one would think because you have a “guy of the week” or something. It was just meh... but I’m saying this as someone who doesn’t like guys all that much.

Sugar Cookies With Icing:

Dame x Prince Anime Caravan 

This is separated from the other two otome anime because this one made fun of itself. It was openly wondering what the heck happened to itself, and it was a lot more fun to watch because of that. It was kind of like Konosuba in a way because none of these guys were all that desirable. Picking “best guy” would be tough with a cast like this. It was a lot more enjoyable than the others because I found this cast more likeable because they were so over-the-top.

Gakuen Babysitters

I don’t like kids. This show... tried to change my opinion. I still don’t like kids.

Pop Team Epic

Yeah, you’re probably wondering “WHAT THE--??” That’s normal. It's basically parodying with famous voice actors. You won’t like it as much if you have a normal sense of humour. This anime is really strange, and like a lot of comedy, it will be hit and miss.

Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet

This show was okay. It was well-animated, and I liked the cast a little. Okay, I liked Hasuki. Besides that, you are basically watching the whole “Romeo and Juliet” stuff again with anime cliches. 

Chocolate Chip Cookie:

Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens

This was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t expecting this show to be good, and the art was subpar, but the cast (despite a huge lack of female characters) found itself being oddly good. It’s crafty and gives off the same vibes as Durarara but with hitmen. Who will hit the hitmen next?

Grand Blue

Let’s ignore the romance elements. This is a comedy, and while this is a bit ecchi, I found myself tolerating that part. This show had me laughing at least once per episode, but if you were looking for a diving anime, you have to look somewhere else.

Banana Fish 

I watched the first six episodes of this one, and I found myself liking the cast. It was pretty good. The animation is great, the voice acting is good too, and the story is riveting. I just jump around series a lot.

Asobi Asobase

Same with this one. Six episodes have been watched. It has a very odd sense of humour, and it gives off the vibe that “this is going to be a cutesy anime” with its opening then screws you over with their antics. I found this anime oddly charming despite me not being so excited about its art style and watercolour palette. 

Hataraku Saibou

I never thought that the least questionable ship out of the summer 2018 anime I watched would be between two fricking cells. This anime was great, it was cute, and it was educationally entertaining! It was a very solid series. Plus, a Kana Hanazawa lead is always a bonus!

SSSS.Gridman

This is an amazingly animated series by Studio Trigger that can excite even non-mecha fans like me. I just started it, but it’s turning out great! This might even go all the way to triple cookie status by the time I reach the end.

Gaikotsu Shotenin Honda-san

I never thought a skull face bookseller could be so entertaining, but it is. This series is charming, and even though it didn’t have the greatest animation budget, it uses it in all the right ways. The relatability that retail workers will feel is astounding, and even non-retail workers like me can find this enjoyable.

Violet Evergarden

Kyoto Animation can make anything look good, and they made this look amazing. This story is oddly touching, and a lot of people got emotional. I wasn’t really one of them, and I found them reaching a bit too much sometimes. I feel like I was supposed to feel stuff, but I didn’t. That’s kind of my fault though. This series is stunning and beautiful visually. The soundtrack was well-written, but it was sometimes misused by the sound director. The stories are pretty solid, but I found the development a little rushed at times. I would recommend it still though.

Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii

The otaku jokes resonated a lot with me, and I found this story to be cheesy in the best of ways. The cast is so likeable and pure, and I found myself looking forward to a new episode every week.

Hinamatsuri

This anime had be laughing so hard to the point where I couldn’t watch it around other people, and I had to conceal my laughter as I watched it during the middle of the night. I never thought such a wholesome father-daughter relationship would occur between an OP esper and a yakuza. If you like Mob Psycho 100, you will like this one and vice-versa. This, to me, was the best comedy of the year.

Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai 

This anime was so darn misleading. I was about to skip this because I thought it was going to be some tasteless edgy show, but I found this to be a weirdly pleasant show to binge-watch, and it was a much more easy and arguably better take on the Monogatari series and whatever genre that is. The girls are likeable, there isn’t a lot of fanservice that is shoved in your face, and the writing got me attached to a lot of the characters.

Zombieland Saga

This anime sounded so stupid at first, but after watching a couple of episodes, I started really liking the cast. These are all relatively new seiyuu minus Mamoru and Risa Taneda. Honestly, words cannot describe this show besides surprisingly amazing. You thought this would be a stupid idol anime? Instead, we go an intriguing, touching, and oddly inspirational anime with great music, art, and everything.

Let’s announce the stuff that I’m excited to watch later! 

These are the amazing shows that I’ve heard about that I haven’t gotten around to watching.

Sora yori mo Tooi Basho (Winter)

Also called “A Place Beyond the Universe”, this anime is about this group of girls taking the journey across Antarctica. I heard it’s a lot of fun.

Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san (Winter)

Her forehead is as big as her face. I’ve heard this is funny, and I’ve watched clips of it. Rie Takahashi and Yuuki Kaji have the main roles in this anime, and they do a fantastic job playing the trickster and her victim.

Megalo Box (Spring)

This one is probably one of the biggest things I’m missing out on. If it weren’t for one of my anxiety triggers being sports, I would’ve jumped on this. Yoshimasa Hosoya does an amazing job as the protagonist in this well-animated boxing series.

Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken (Autumn)

I’ve watched one episode, and yes, tsundere dragon is the best girl. Besides that, it just looks like a lot of fun for a show that sounds so weird.

Yuru Camp△ (Winter)

Cute girls doing cute things while camping. That’s pretty much what this is about. Whether you like that kind of show will determine whether it’s worth watching for you.

Golden Kamuy (Spring)

This another big thing I’m missing out on. It already got a second season, and it looks like a fun action series. Minus the bad CG, it looks good. I heard the lead sounds just like Hosoya, but Hosoya is in the show too! Along with a new score composer with a lot of new series under his name, I’m excited about this one too!

Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru (Autumn)

I’d be more excited about this series, but I haven’t finished Haikyuu yet, and I have a really bad history with track and field.

Irozuku Sekai no Ashita kara (Autumn)

This series looks beautifully animated, and this is one of Kaori Ishihara’s big roles besides Aladdin from Magi which was years ago.

Summary: The Haneoka Girls school theater club is holding a special play of Romeo and Juliet for their 10 year anniversary. As per usual Kaoru is asked to play the leading male role, Romeo. For this special occasion the child actress Shirasagi Chisato is being invited to play the role of Juliet. Just during their rehersal of the play Rena realizes that she has fallen deeply for Kaoru and that seeing her with Chisato makes her jealous.

“Just what am I doing?”

Distressed Rena softly sighed, head falling eventually onto her desk as she took a deep breath and thought back on the last rehersal.

Ever the realizastion of her crush on Kaoru hit her rehersal had been rough. Despite all the notes, all the effort she had taken into constructing her co-directing role for the last piece she would work on in her high school career, she couldn’t focus. She was a third year now, was adviced to quit club activities and work for her collage entrance exams, but she had wanted to give her all for the anniversary and even more the last piece she’d be able to work on with everyone she had come to know over the years. And yet-

“Somehow it still doesn’t feel right.”

Kaorus words ripped her out of her delirium and she jerked up, forgetting how to breath for a second. Eyes focused on her, the one in charge and she quickly tried to remember what scene they were even on.

“Rena-san shouldn’t we try again?” “But wasn’t that good?”

Damn it! Everyone was staring at her. This was the moment she was supposed to tell everyone what to do and how to proceed but her head was absolutely empty.

“F-Five minute break.”

Everyone seemed confused. But it only got worse when Chisato spoke out what everyone was thinking.

“Excuse me, but this is hardly the time to take a break.”

Shut up.

“Chisato-” But Kaorus voice wasn’t enough to stop the professional actress from voicing her opinion.

“You haven’t been paying attention for the past few scenes. Excuse my words, but that behavior is unacceptable and quite disrespectful towards the members of this theater club.” “Chisato-san!”

I know!

“Shirasagi-san I think that’s en-”

Without another word Rena just rose from her seat, staring at the ground.

Just what am I doing? I am the last third year here! I am supposed to lead them up to the play and yet-

She took a deep breath before she looked up with a serious and almost distanced expression.

“Yes you are right. And I am very well aware of the fact that my action is quite rude. My instruction wasn’t for the others. It was an announcement that I will take a short break. I believe you and Kaoru are both skilled enough to know how to reherse alone for a few minutes. Now if you’ll excuse me I will go catch some fresh air.”

She hadn’t returned. In fact she had gone to the teachers office and looked for their advisor telling her she was feeling sick and that they would have to take directions again.

Now she was at her desk in her classroom wondering if she really should just call it quits and go home at this point.

“What am I doing?”

Rena decided to take a few days off and hand the directory position back to the advising teacher. She had to sort herself out first.

“I wonder if Rena-senpai is doing okay.” Maya murmured to herself during a break time, Chisato only giving a short huff in response.

“If she isn’t able to take club activities and her collage entrance studying then she should have quit sooner. No matter how good of a co-director she is, education will always come first-”

“What do you mean?” Confused Kaoru furrowed her brows.

“I mean that it’s of course hard to keep up with such a big project like an anniversary play and her studies. Even if theater is her passion, her own future shouldn’t suffer under it.”

Kaorus eyes widened and her entire being seemed as if she had just fallen from a wonderful dream back onto harsh reality.

“Rena-san is... a third year.”

“K-Kaoru-san are you saying that you forgot already that aside of her all third years already quit?”

Once again her demeanor changed for a moment, almost as if she was being insecure and troubled, clinging to her juice box before she put it down onto a table and walked to their advising teacher.

“Sensei, is it true that Rena-san is quitting the club?” As if everything in the world halted a sudden silence fell onto the room. Kaorus face was full of worry and Chisato could hear it drip slightly into her childhood friends voice. The advising teacher was taken aback but then sighed slightly.

“Well I did advice her to quit before this project, but she said she wanted to work on this with everyone before she basically retires as co-director. But it seems that the stress of it all got to her after all. But officially she hasn’t said anything to me, so no, she is yet still a member.”

“Ne Rena, let’s get something to drink!” giving off a yawn Rena just nodded as she stood up from her desk. After even 2 days she still felt like she would go crazy if she got even near the theater club room. Somehow the moment she saw the synergy with Kaoru and Chisato it just made her jealousy eat her alive.

“Kaoru-kun no running in the hall!” Just out of the door to her classroom some rather strong yet elegant hands grabbed her arm and turned her around, forcing Rena to look into the beautiful yet absolutely distressed face of Kaoru Seta.

“Rena-san, you’re not really quitting are you?!” “Huh?”

Wait what’s happening-

“Rena-san please say you are staying in the drama club!” “Rena! You’re still in your club?”

It felt like the entire world was screaming at her.

“Okay first of all, both of you calm down. Second: I am not quitting... yet, I just need a bit of time.” Moving away from Kaoru, Rena seemed visibly uncomfortable, but then she noticed something rather... Odd.

“So... you will return to rehersals, right?”

“Kaoru, you are an exelent actor, you have a natural feeling for your roles and can switch into them effortlessly, plus Sensei will be there to guide you. I was co-director, remember? I didn’t have the last say anyway, I was just trying to help you guys.”

“I know that, it’s just-”

Was she actually being insecure?

“I feel like everyone shines far brighter with your involvement. You have led our plays for the past year and- even Sensei believes you to know exactly what you are doing, so she doesn’t involve herself as much. If there is anything we can do to get some load off your shoulders, please tell us. We are an ensamble after all.”

An ensamble....

I see.... It’s not just that everyone is just working hard... they also all trust each other and work together. They... they trust me too. Not just because I am older, but because I do well... I-... I should trust myself more too.

“Un! You’re right.”

Volleyballs and the squeak of shoes echoed through the large gymnasium. After hours of practicing, Kuroo finally called for a break. The gym felt musty and sweaty, so Yamamoto went to the exit for some fresh air.

He groaned when he opened the door. “Oi, Captain!” He called. “Come look outside.”

Kuroo raised an eyebrow as the team followed him to the door where Yamamoto was. Outside the foreign gym, the sky was gray and the clouds clashed thunder to the earth. Lev flinched at each boom.

“Great, I bet the streets are flooded by now,” Yaku tisked.

“Not my fault our gym is being renovated!” Kuroo pouted. “Besides, it’s a privilege to practice at such a prestigious University like UTokyo. You brats should be thankful!”

“Did Coach even approve of this?” Kenma asked.

“He didn’t NOT approve of it. All he said was ‘practices are up to you while I’m gone’.”

“Look how that turned out,” Yamamoto muttered.

“Shut it.”

“Where will we sleep tonight if we can’t even make it to the train station to go home?” Kai asked.

A smirk slowly grew on the captain’s face. The team began to back away from Kuroo knowing that whenever he smirked, he was up to no good.

“I know exactly where to go ~” Kuroo said, taking out his phone.

“Stop smiling like that,” Kenma said.

It was a cold, lonely evening back at your apartment as you sat at your desk. The rain reflected your college life - dull but chaotic. College life had taken quite a toll on your social life because you never have time for it anymore. The most exciting events in your life were lunch and facetime with Kuroo.

You smiled a little as his silly face popped up in your head. It’s been awhile since you last saw him, and you missed him dearly. It was days like today where you always reminisce about the day you two got together. The story was not exciting to tell, but it was special to you.

Never in your high school years did you think to date someone younger than you, even if it was just by a year or two. You and Kuroo didn’t even go to the same school. You attended the prestigious Fukurodani while he was at Nekoma. It was like bad remake of Romeo and Juliet.

You had the pleasure of meeting Kuroo on the way to school - apparently, he took the same train as you up to a certain stop. One day, you were both in the same crowded car when he accidentally elbowed you in the face.

“Ow!” You cried, holding your eye with your free hand.

“Ah shit, I’m sorry -” Kuroo stopped mid sentence when he turned to face who he elbowed. The first thing he noticed about you was your long, silky hair, a weakness of his. The second thing he noticed was how cute your face looked when it was scrunched up in pain.

Kuroo cleared his throat. “I, uh, I’m sorry. I don’t have any ice or anything.”

“I would hope you wouldn’t. That’d be kind of weird,” you tisked, wiping away the tears of pain.

“You are very right.” The hustle and bustle of the car filled in the awkward silence. “S-So! You got to Fukurodani?”

“Yes, for three years now. I see you go to Nekoma.”

“Yeah, it’ll be my second year.”

“Hm, how typical of you cats….”

“What does that mean!?”

“Always bumping into things that you shouldn’t be bumping into ~”

“I said I’m sorry,” he pouted. The conductor called his stop. “Well, this is my stop.”

“Good riddance.”

“Ok ok! I owe you one, all right? The next time you go to Nekoma, ask for a Kuroo Tetsurou, and I’ll be there to make it up to you.”

“You’d never catch me walking into that litter box,” you smirked.

Kuroo smirked back. “You got a big peck for a small owl. I like it. Why don’t you tell me your name, little owlette ~?”

“_____ _____.”

“_____-chan, I’ll see you around. Make sure to ice your eye or your pretty face will get swollen ~!”

You rolled your eyes, but couldn’t deny the growing smile on your face.

It didn’t take long for Kuroo to ask you on a date. Well, attempt to. Kuroo’s style of pursuit was so typical it was almost scripted, like in the movies. His eyes would scan each car as it slowed down to his stop, trying to find which one you were in. The first few times he’d remark how coincidental it was to run into you, but after the third day, he stopped making excuses and just went with it. He even bothered to go out of his way to walk you home and every time he dropped you off, he’d ask you on a date. It was maybe three months later when you gave in.

“Go home, Kuroo,” you groaned.

“Nah ~ You haven’t agreed to go out on a date with me yet.”

“Feels like I have a stray cat companion.”

“I would be domesticated, thank you.”

You sighed, speeding up your stride to go on ahead. Kuroo chuckled at your childishness and followed behind you.

After twenty minutes of silence you turned around, wondering if he left. Kuroo bumped into you, startled that you stopped.

“Oi, why’d you stop all of a sudden!? Afraid I left you?” he smirked.

“As if,” you huffed. “Why do you keep following me after all the times I’ve said no?”

“Because that smile on your face every time I ask says otherwise.”

You blushed, quickly avoiding eye contact with him. Kuroo held your chin and lifted your head up.

“Didn’t think I would notice, hm?” He teased. The very smile that kept him going was hard for you to hold back. “There’s that smile.”

“Shut up.”

“So what do you say, my little owlette? Will you go out with a stray kitten like me?”

“Fine,” you said, gently swatting his hand away. “Only if you stop saying things like that.”

“Would you prefer Senpai instead?”

“I change my mind.”

“Wait, I’m kidding - hey, quit walking so fast!”

You sighed, smiling at the memories you’ve made with him. You felt the your desk vibrate with your phone, the name “Stray Kitten” lighting up your screen.

“Speak of the devil,” you said before answering. “Tetsurou-kun ~”

“Ah, _____-chan! How’s my girl doin’?”

“Just fine. Why did you call?”

“Can’t a guy call his girlfriend to say hello?”

“No.”

“Ya caught me. It’s no wonder you go into UTokyo, you’re too smart ~” he smirked at the thought of you rolling your eyes right now. “Anyways, are you busy tonight?”

“Not really, why?”

“Wanna hang out with nine hormone-driven teenage boys?” he begged. “The good kinds of hormones, not the bad ones.”

“What do you mean?”

“You know, like growth hormones, cortisol, testosterone, all that fun stuff -”

“Dumbass, I meant what do you mean hanging out with nine boys?” you chuckled.

“Ah, I was going to surprise you, but the storm kind of ruined it. The volleyball team is practicing in your gym because our’s is under construction. But now we can’t make it to the train station because the streets are flooded. Do you mind if me and my team stay with you ‘til the morning?”

You felt your heart skip a beat. You finally get to see Kuroo again after a couple of weeks, but now you were meeting the whole team. You’ve always asked about meeting them since he became the captain, but now they were staying the night with you.

“T-Tonight? Right now?” you stuttered.

“If that’s ok with you. Don’t worry, I’m positive they’ll love you,” he said, whispering the last sentence.

“Ok, I’ll get a head start on dinner then. I hope you all like soup on a rainy day.”

“That’s exactly what we’ll need. I can’t wait to see you.”

“I’m excited, too,” you grinned widely. “Get here safely.”

As soon as you hung up, you sprinted into the kitchen pulling out all the cartons of broth and noodles you owned, ready to make soup that will feed an army. Since they were coming from practice, you figured they’d want some meat, too, so you threw all your bbq on a skillet. You basically cooked all of your groceries, desperate to make sure that the team would adore you for cooking so well.

As you pressed the button to cook some rice, a knock came at your door. Opening it, you saw nine drenched boys who held their duffle bags over their heads as coverage.

“O-Oh wow,” you gasped. Stepping aside, you held the door open wider. “Come in, come in! I’ll get some towels.”

You tossed all your towels to the oddly-quiet team as they settled in. You threw one extra vigorously to Kuroo.

“Oi, so mean!” he pouted.

“You came all the way here without knowing about the storm!?”

“I forgot to check the weather this morning!” He wrapped a damp arm around your shoulders and pulled you into a very cold hug. “Aren’t you happy to see me ~?”

“Of course I am, but the last thing I want is for you all to get sick. And let go of me, you’re still wet and cold!”

Kuroo nuzzled his wet hair against yours with a wide grin. You shuddered upon contact, but couldn’t help the giggles that escaped your lips. You both heard someone clear their throat that interrupted your interaction. You almost forgot the team was there. Looking up, Kenma nodded his head to the confused team.

“Oh, right,” Kuroo said, pulling away from the hug. “This is our lovely maiden _____-chan!” You punched his arm at his response. “Ow, ok, sorry! She’s my girlfriend.”

“Girlfriend!?” Lev’s eyes sparkled. “Wow, Captain! An older woman.”

“Don’t be rude!” Yaku said, kicking his behind.

“Shut it, you two,” Kuroo said, keeping his arm around you. “Play nice tonight, or no dinner! And _____-chan made us soup, right?”

“Oh, uh, y-yes. There’s also meat and rice, but the rice is still cooking, but feel free to anything. But change out of those clothes first!”

“Mmm it smells great!” A shirtless Yamamoto was the first one in line for the soup.

You and Kuroo stood to the side watching the team bicker in line, devour your food, or change into their pajamas in the living room. Kuroo had already changed when he wrapped his arm around your shoulder again.

“I think the team’s a little scared of you,” he snickered.

“Is that why they’re so quiet?”

“Yeah. I’m usually the one who keeps them in line, but now they met someone who keeps me in line.”

“Good,” you smirked. You left a pouting Kuroo in the kitchen as you collected all the dishes from the team.

“Thank you for the meal!” they yelled in unison.

You blushed from embarrassment and waved your hand casually. “Of course! Anything for my favorite team.”

As you loaded the dishes into the washer, Lev crawled over to where his beloved Captain stood.

“Captain! Can you marry her?” he asked.

“W-What!?” Kuroo blushed, almost falling over out of surprise. “Why?”

“So she can come to our games and cook for us all the time!”

“I’ll ask for you if you’re afraid!” Inuoka chimed in.

“I’ll marry her if you won’t,” Yamamoto offered.

“I should kill all of you.”

It didn’t take long for the team to knock out snoring on your living room floor. Everyone was sprawled out in different positions and you and Kuroo did your best to cover them with blankets. When you were finished, Kuroo wrapped his arms around your waist from behind.

“I’ve missed you ~” he whispered, planting kisses all over your cheek and neck.

“I’ve missed you, too,” you giggled.

You unraveled his arms and led him to your bedroom. In an instant, Kuroo swept you off of your feet and sprinted to your room. After closing the door, he threw you on your bed and jumped on top.

Before you screeched in protest, Kuroo’s soft lips fell on yours. Instinctively, you both wrapped your arms around each other and tangled your fingers in each other’s hair. His kisses were warm and loving and they made your heart want to burst.

Kuroo pulled away and laid his forehead on yours. “I’m so happy I get to finally see you, even with the whole team around.”

“I guess I should thank the skies you’re here, huh?”

“I should thank the skies for you agreeing to date a helpless guy like me.”

“Don’t say that about yourself!” you pouted, hitting his chest softly.

Kuroo chuckled before pulling you into another deep kiss. Kissing him was like kissing him for the very first time every time because he puts his whole heart into every kiss with you. He always tasted so sweet and always felt like the softest velvet.

“I love you,” he whispers, holding you tightly.

You smile and kiss him once more. “I love you, too.”
