Calling all fans of 🖖iconic Star Trek: The Next Generation video "Riker Sits Down" and ✍️animators familiar with the animation program RoughAnimator - we can all help the person who made both to finish his own indie animated film!

That's right, the person behind "Riker Sits Down" and the person behind the animation app RoughAnimator are one and the same - and (as well as a being very kind person and a good friend) he's also himself an animator who has spent the last 3 years animating his own feature-length film all by himself:

In his own words, it's a movie "about a sleepy bunny detective who can't stay focused on the murder mystery she's supposed to be solving, and keeps getting distracted by more mundane lower stakes mysteries. Very silly and whimsical and full of puns." And I can attest, it's truly full of puns. A punderful amount of puns. Perfect puns aplenty.

About 2½ weeks ago, he launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the rest of the production - because if he doesn't hire anyone else to help him, he estimates that it's going to take him another 3 years to finish this on his own (not to mention he'd need to hire a sound designer and composer regardless).

Right now, it's about halfway to its goal of $60k - and it's all-or-nothing, so if it doesn't reach that entire goal by 6pm ET on May 24, sadly the campaign will not get any of the pledged money!

If you have the ability to give and/or share, it would mean helping to give an independent animator the ability to realize his vision for such an endearing and witty feature-length film! (Not to mention that a lot of the tiers come with cool merch👏😎)

I attempted Procreate Dreams again, got frustrated with the app, and returned to Roughanimator.

Quick question! You use rough animator, right? How do you go about adding audio/music to your animations?

Very scuffly is the answer!

The way I prefer to do it is by downloading a song and importing the file directly into the project.

But the site I use to download songs isn’t working for me atm so instead I screenrecord the song from youtube, cut the video in half (it breaks for me if I try uploading a song that’s longer than 2 minutes), crop the size of the video (so it uploads faster) aaand then once it’s uploaded I delete the layer with the video and keep the audio

This is what my current project timeline looks like! The split parts don’t cause much of a problem as long as they’re lined up properly 👍

Fam, your girl finally got RoughAnimator. Im trying to see if I can demonstrate how Vernon moves by making him dance. there is also a little animation I made when testing the program out.

Its rusty, but its a start. I'll try to get back into learning how to do 2D animation again since its been a while.
