ok so I am going to do some mild timberwolves trade options breakdown:

I think the timberwolves have 2 main problems that need to be addressed:

Anthony Edwards needs a secondary point guard or point forward. His play-making has improved but he's gonna be so much better if he can play off ball more, they need a better secondary ball-handler to split the responsibility with Ant

The current center situation where its either all offense or all defense is untenable, you CANNOT pay Rudy Gobert this much money when he can't be played for more than 20min in the playoffs

Problems for addressing these issues: They have no picks, and no one else wants to pay Rudy Gobert this much money either. A lot of this really depends on whether or not Reid and Randle pick up their player options, and I think they probably walk, but idk. IF you can trade Gobert in time and get under the second apron then you'd be eligible to sign and trade them which would really help with getting a secondary ball handler, Naz Reid is especially valuable if you can sign and trade him instead of him walking.

Kings and Suns could maybe go in for Gobert, just cause their front offices are stupid and they have the pieces kinda. Also the funny option is the Lakers doing maxi/vando/gabe for gobert, if anyone can lob perfectly enough that even Gobert can't fuck it up it might be Luka?

I think Coby White and Desmond Bane are the best possible targets for secondary guys for Ant but idk if either of their teams would move them, but someone in that mold. Nuggets fans don't look but does Jamal make sense as a target? salary is super high so it'd only be if you got off Gobert but the fit with Ant is probs great tbh

The ABSOLUTE crazy option is to go in on like conley and donte for trae, which is absolutely insane and is probably a bad fit BUT is so fucking wild that I kinda wanna see it

Donte is on such a good contract and his value isnt great rn cause of this postseason run so I think he probably stays. Conley is probably the guy most likely to be traded IMO, but McDaniels and Donte could end up in trades if the package is right

IMO running it back without changes is the worst option, cause that lack of 2-way bigs I think puts a hard ceiling on this team in the conference finals, and I also think the arms race in the west means that sitting on your hands is gonna make even getting back to this round extremely difficult

Zelený technooptimismus: Lithium a CCS

V reakci na blogový příspěvek o technologii zpracování krušnohorského zinnwalditu na uhličitan lithný jsem z řad poučených čtenářů opakovaně dostal dotazy ke zpracování hydroxidu lithného. Z akademické debaty se zrodil nápad s nečekaným bonusem: Má-li se lithná slída těžit a zpracovávat, nechť se to dělá co nejzeleněji. A to hned dvakrát.

Lithium bez kyseliny sírové

Opakovaně si na blogu ��eské lithium připomínáme, že lithné ionty jsou v zinnwalditu vázány obzvlášť důkladně a přetvořit je na rozumný obchodovatelný a na baterie zpracovatelný produkt stojí hodně energie a surovin. Metod je navrženo nebo vyzkoušeno hned několik; Geomet si (pravděpodobně z ekonomických důvodů) vybral síranovou metodu, německo-kanadská firma připravující těžbu na saské straně hranice metodu sádrovou. Česká volba vede k ceněnějšímu produktu, je ale energeticky i surovinově velmi náročná (desítky tisíc tun kyseliny sírové ročně!). Německý těžař zvolil méně nebezpečnou technologii vedoucí k levnějšímu produktu, konkrétně k hydroxidu lithnému. Rozdíl v cenách mezi dražším uhličitanem a levnějším hydroxidem lithným je řádový. Nabízí se proto otázka, zda nejde hydroxid na uhličitan převést.

Jde - a měl by to zvládnout student nejpozději druhého ročníku gymnaziální chemie:

2 LiOH + CO2 → Li2CO3 + H2O. Jak taková reakce ale běží v realitě? A jak v průmyslovém měřítku?

Absorpce oxidu uhličitého alkalickými hydroxidy

Reakce skutečně běží, stejně jako analogicky funguje i v případě jiného zásaditého (alkalického) hydroxidu, totiž hydroxidu vápenatého (hašeného vápna) při tvrdnutí betonu.

Hydroxid lithný se zase používá na zachytávání oxidu uhličitého na vesmírných stanicích - jinak by se astronauti brzy udusili produktem vlastního dýchání.

Kinetika toho procesu je popsána přinejmenším 50 let. V roce 2022 vyšel článek v Nature, který testoval absorpci v poloprovozních podmínkách.

Teoreticky bychom na jednu tunu uhličitanu mohli spotřebovat až 595 kg oxidu uhličitého. Z uvedeného výzkumu ale plyne, že rovnováha té reakce je mnohem méně příznivá, účinnost vychází na zhruba 24 %. I tak ale pořád platí, že reakce běží a je průmyslově využitelná: Pokud by navržený návod na zpracování cínovecké rudy měl produkovat asi 25 kilotun uhličitanu lithného, mohl by na to využít asi 3 500 tuny oxidu uhličitého. To - pro srovnání - odpovídá (při emisích 95 g CO2 na km) asi 37 milionům kilometrů v běžném osobním autě.

Právě teď je čas na ten zajímavý bonus: Jak je zřejmé, sádrovou metodou zpracování zninwalditu bychom méně hodnotný hydroxid přetvořili na dražší uhličitan, ale zároveň tím z atmosféry odstranili oxid uhličitý coby skleníkový plyn.

Zachytávání atmosférického uhlíku

Carbon Capture and Store (zkráceně CCS) je jedna z kýžených, ale stále spíš konceptuálních metod, jak na poslední chvíli odvracet změny klimatu v důsledky rostoucího množství skleníkových plynů (zejména tedy antropogenního oxidu uhličitého). Myšlenka je prostá: Spalováním fosilních paliv (nebo třeba výrobou cementu a oceli) sice vyšleme do atmosféry oxid uhličitý, ale vzápětí za zase odčerpáme a uložíme. Jak moc experimentální to je, dokazuje Global CCS Institute, který vede veřejně dostupnou databázi všech (!) provozů s CCS na světě. I když jejich počet roste, je zřejmé, že běžná technologie to není.

Velmi často takové pokusy vedou k paradoxu. Obvykle totiž vedou k ukládání pevného produktu zachytávání (třeba už zmíněného vápence) do země. To s sebou nese nejen další náklady (a taky uhlíkovou stopu) na dopravu, ale i zemní a důlní práce. Nezřídka se proto stává, že proces zachycení a uložení takového materiálu má větší uhlíkovou stopu, než kdyby se to nechalo být. 

Způsob, který je výše nastíněn, je o hodně zajímavější: Vzniklý produkt není třeba sypat do jámy. Navržená CCS vede k uhličitanu lithnému, produktu, který je žádaným artiklem, na konci svého životního cyklu je z vyrobené baterie znovu recyklovatelný.

Ekonomika

Při současných cenách emisních povolenek cca 68 eur za tunu CO2 (zhruba 1700 Kč) má uhličitan lithný z atmosférického uhlíku lepší i ekonomickou bilanci, a to asi o 6 milionů korun. Není to moc, ale při nízkých výkupních cenách pro zpracování do baterií může i tohle mít svou cenu.

Naděje?

Nejen na tomto blogu už padlo, že nejekologičtější je prostě snížit spotřeba baterií. I ta nejlepší technologie stojí nějakou energii a má uhlíkovou stopu. Pomůže, když budeme víc chodit pěšky, jezdit na kole (výhradně šlapacím 🙂), MHD, když budeme elektroauta sdílet. Uvažujeme-li ale o elektromobilitě jako o čistší náhradě spalovacích motorů, bez Li-ion článků se ještě minimálně nějaký čas neobejdeme. Jejich výroba ale má být co nejčistší a pokud možno co nejvíc užitečná: třeba tím, že odčerpá alespoň trochu skleníkového plynu z atmosféry.

Hi, if you don’t do this, I understand but I’m just trying to spread the word. I messaged baltimorehq last night to tell them that Baltimore’s population is over 60% Black and they should add WAY more Black fcs to their wanted list (which was like 90% white and 10% non-Black POC) and they just... didn’t.

there is an insane amount wrong with any rp that recs heavy white fcs, but even more with one set in a very black city. they also list only men (listed as 'males') & women (listed as 'females'), so i guess we don't know anyone who is nonbinary here either. over all their list is gross & full of some gross people too. i'm glad you sent this to me nonny, bc it truly is disgusting behavior & i hope they figure out how wrong this is. you can't just pick random city no. 9 and ignore the details you don't like abt it.
