Misdirection
I see this scene cross my dash all the time, everyone loves this action packed episode opener, but no one really seems to notice quite how much is happening here. Or just how active a part Anakin takes even before he saunters in once Obi-Wan and Cody are behind cover.
Tumblr media
None of this is focused on tearing down anyone's blorbos or pairings, don't get panicked before I've even said anything.
This is all about the scene using changes in camera angles and what people will assume they've seen against them in order to mislead.
Tumblr media
Cut to the point where they're on this bridge and the troopers of the 212th are running towards the enemy. You can see their little leggies pounding the ground as they advance
Tumblr media
You can also see, by the position of those bridge supports relative to his helmet, that Cody has stopped where he is
Tumblr media
The camera focus shifts to the missile being fired from the Separatists position
Tumblr media
And follows it upwards. Because that's what's important here. Right? The imminent destruction of Cody and his men?
Well, no. Because that isn't actually about to happen, but isn't it ✨dramatic✨
Tumblr media
Cody, at this point, is busy examining his own arm
Tumblr media
But quickly prompts the audience to focus on the missile by looking up at it too
Tumblr media
Insert a quick reminder of what it is that he's looking at
Tumblr media
Followed by a nice wide shot to focus on what's a stake here.
Cody central. Only a few other troopers, mostly bloodlessly dead, are in shot, and the crater in the ground he's stopped just short of
Tumblr media
He starts to duck and cover. Surely bracing for the impending impact. Right?
Tumblr media
But what's this? Just sneaking into shot from the left of screen?
Tumblr media
Yep, that's definitely a lightsaber
Tumblr media
Coming in all nice and super close up to him
Tumblr media
Yeah, you better duck. That thing's dangerous! Nice little sliver of dark clad shoulder just barely sneaking into view there, not at all like Kenobi's beige ensemble we'll see in a moment. The finer details are hard to see because it's all fast moving and deliberately obscured
Tumblr media
And now we get to see just how close up that lightsaber is to Cody as it strikes sparks off something so close to him that it could be taking his hand off
Tumblr media
But it sweeps past him leaving him with all of his original limbs still intact, and no obvious signs of damage.
So where did all those sparks come from?
What did that lightsaber make contact with?
And isn't it weird how that doesn't get mentioned by anyone at any point in this story arc?
.
But we must move on quickly because fast pacing means there's no time to question anything!
So we immediately cut to where Kenobi is standing far, far away on the other side of that crater deflecting incoming enemy fire and providing cover for his men.
Tumblr media
Smacking that missile with his lightsaber
Tumblr media
Cutting it into two pieces, with one half flying to the left of him
Tumblr media
And one half to the right
Tumblr media
Where it plunks down prettily and pinkly
Tumblr media
All neatly into the crater Cody had stopped by in the first place
Tumblr media
Leaving Cody to look up through the cloud of thrown up dust
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Make that odd looking arm gesture
Tumblr media
And we close up on Kenobi with angry eyebrows and gritted teeth
Tumblr media
Cut to a shocked sounding 'General!' from Cody
Tumblr media
Before everyone with any sense follows Kenobi's lead and scrambles for cover, leaving him to wonder where Anakin vanished off to, because he'd presumably have felt his presence there given his close proximity just seconds ago
Tumblr media
Only for Anakin to walk in all casual like and in a way that suggests to viewers he'd only just arrived there that very second.
Tumblr media
And make his oh-so-subtle play for Obi-Wan to follow his example, to do what he's doing, to take a step with him towards the dark side, but not without making sure that Rex won't see him do it beforehand.
And I find this entire scene fascinating

Here are all of the songs including most advertisements from Horrible Histories series 1-5 plus specials, organised and titled and numbered etc. (Link leads to google drive). Should also all have 'Savage Songs' album art but I think something went wrong somewhere. Ah well.
I am also doing the new series but it's not a high priority. I was doing it for myself but thought others might also be interested. Let me know if there’s any specific song(s) you want that aren’t up there and I’ll see what I can do.
I will update this post when necessary.
EDIT 18/05: I have just added other miscellaneous Six Idiots songs, mostly from Yonderland. You can also find links to Mat Baynton's EP and the album by the band he was part of.
EDIT 10/09: I’ve just uploaded the songs I have from series 6 and 7. This isn’t all the songs from each series, just the ones I currently have. That’s 11 songs from s6 and 4 songs from s7

ELEMENTARY COMPLETE DVD BOX SET DVD EXTRAS
@amindamazed  asked: “Do you know if the complete box set has extras that aren’t also in the individual season sets?”

Daily Ham News
If you’re a regular on the SWLing Post, you’ll certainly know our contributor, Robert Gulley.
Robert is a wonderful friend and one of the biggest ambassadors for radio I know. Robert has mentored a countless number of ham radio operators and radio listeners–his enthusiasm is infectious.
This time, Robert could really use our help.
His wife Jennifer has Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (MS)–a disease that has progressed to the point she needs 24/7 care. Finances are tight, so when a home equity loan taken out over 15 years ago recently ballooned, Robert and Jennifer have struggled to make these payments and stay afloat.
They’ve explored refinancing and even selling their home, but the numbers simply don’t work in their favor.
I, along with a number of Robert’s close friends, have encouraged him to start a GoFundMe campaign to try to raise some funds to pay down the home equity loan.
Robert isn’t the sort of guy that ever asks for help, indeed he’s always the one giving help. This is why I’m asking you to consider supporting his GoFundMe campaign if you have the means to do so. You can read more about his situation on the GoFundMe page.
Any amount will help as it will be dropped on the principle of their loan and thus shorten the term or even make a refinance possible.
Click here to support Robert’s GoFundMe campaign.
GoFundMe is a reputable organization to raise funds and they don’t take a large cut like some other platforms do, but if you would rather support Robert outside of GoFundMe (directly, by check for example) feel free to contact him.
Thank you!

PACIFIC (DXPEDITION) TOUR ALMOST DID NOT HAPPENED (Update). Heli, DD0VR,
(along with XYL Bigi, DE3BWR) informed OPDX on Monday that their Fiji
“DXpedition ends here.” Heli explains that after two visits to the Fiji
Customs Bureau, and having endless discussions, the couple was told that
they would have to pay three times 1540 Fijian dollars (700 USDs) for
their transmitters & amp in order to take their equipment into the three
islands they planned to operate from (Fiji, Samoa and Tonga). So Heli/
DD0VR and XYL Bigi/DE3BWR then decided to make their trip a “normal
holiday” and pick-up their equipment on the way back to Germany. At
this point, they were very disappointed. However, on Wednesday, thanks
from some help by Tevita Navila (Telecommunications Authority of Fiji),
Tony/3D2AG and Bernie/W3UR of The Daily DX, Heli was able to retrieve
his equipment and was able to be active as 3D2VR from Fiji for a few days.
By the time you read this, Heli (along with his XYL) will be heading
to Samoa and should be active as 5W0VR from Samoa sometime between Sep-
tember 9-16th. Activity will be on various HF bands and modes. QSL via
DD0VR. Next stop will be Tonga, Heli will be signing as A35JY between
September 16-21st.
PJ4, BONAIRE (Reminder). Randy, K5SL, should now be active as PJ4/K5SL
from Bonaire (SA-006) until September 14th. Activity will be on 40/30/
20/17 meters using mainly CW, but possibly some 17 meters SSB. QSL via
his home callsign.

“All the equipment has been set up and checked and then packed up to go
on the plane with me to S79. This is primarily a 6m EME DXpedition, but
I have packed a 20m dipole and may also get on 20m FT8 during the first
few days of October. Full details are on my website:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Seychelles%202019.htm
Although the CP1GJ 6m EME DXpedition in May was a big success, I am

S79 before on 6m. This is especially well suited to NA horizon-only
stations during their moonrise…. GL and VY 73, Lance”

Would you say it's worth doing to make a list of spn episodes that Lucifer is on and just watch those, or would there be important plot missing? I more or less quit watching the show after season 8 (it was just exhausting by then) but uh... i rly love Mark tho
You’re in luck! I made a list already (borrowed from IMDB). You could always watch the recaps at the beginning of each ep to get caught up on particular plot lines. I’ve been watching Mark episodes exclusively and haven’t found it hard to follow the overall storyline in each season, and the writing in the episodes is as such that it rehashes some things so everyone’s up to date.
I’m assuming you know about his episodes in s5 and s7, so I’ll just share the ones from after that. I’m not including the episodes where he possessed different characters since, well, that’s not Mark (and honestly his behavior seemed dumb and random and OOC). It’s worth watching the episodes in s11 where Lucifer possesses Castiel though, since Misha did a fantastic job portraying him (and he actually put forth the effort to adopt Mark’s mannerisms and speech patterns). Sadly I don’t know most of those episodes off the top of my head :/ I’ll have to look them up on a wiki.
**Just as a heads up for possibly triggering content–s12 has a storyline that, based on what I’ve read, toes the line of a pro/anti choice debate and dubious sexual consent. One of the plots centers around Lucifer possessing the President of the United States, getting said President’s lover pregnant (without her knowing that it’s him), and a lot of the drama of the later half of the season centering around whether she should even give birth. I personally find this whole thing distasteful, so I’ll be watching it with restrained emotional investment. If it ends up being as embarrassing as I’m guessing it is, I’ll just stop and overlook the whole damn thing. Honestly I find the idea of watching Mark’s multiple(!) softcore porn films less unbearable.
Anyway, here’s the episode list.
s11:
Episode 09 “O, Brother, Where Art Thou?”
Episode 11 “The Devil in the Details”
Episode 18 “Hell’s Angel”
s12
Episode 12 “Stuck In the Middle (With You)”
Episode 13 “Family Feud”
Episode 15 “Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell”
Episode 17 “The British Invasion”
Episode 19 “The Future”
Episode 21 “There’s Something About Mary”
Episode 23 “All Along The Watchtower”
s13
Episode 01 “Lost and Found”
Episode 02 “The Rising Son”
Episode 07 “War of the Worlds”
Episode 09 “The Bad Place”
Episode 12 “Various & Sundry Villains”
Episode 13 “ Devil’s Bargain”
Episode 18 “Bring ‘em Back Alive”
Episode 21 “Beat the Devil”
Episode 22 “Exodus”
Episode 23 “Let The Good Times Roll”
He’s also appearing in s14 so far, but this time as Nick, his runner up vessel from s5.

Entrevista: Bianca (killyem)
Chegamos novamente!!!
Claro!
Meu nome é Bianca, eu tenho dezessete anos e quero virar historiadora.
Kkkkkkkk Slá, eu realmente me vejo escrevendo qualquer coisa, só tenho as minhas preferências sabe?

REBEL DX GROUP NEWS. Tack, JE1CKA, announced on Twitter this past week:
“T33T #Banaba has been postponed to next year. I will do my best to 3Y0I.
I think the details will be announced around October.”
S79GJ SEYCHELLES DXPEDITION (Update). Lance, W7GJ, will be active as S79GJ
from La Digue Island (AF-024, WW Loc. LI75vp), Seychelles, between September
20th and October 5th. Lance informs OPDX this past week of the following:
“All the equipment has been set up and checked and then packed up to go
on the plane with me to S79. This is primarily a 6m EME DXpedition, but
I have packed a 20m dipole and may also get on 20m FT8 during the first
few days of October. Full details are on my website:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Seychelles%202019.htm
Although the CP1GJ 6m EME DXpedition in May was a big success, I am
especially excited about S79GJ because nobody from NA has ever contacted
S79 before on 6m. This is especially well suited to NA horizon-only
stations during their moonrise…. GL and VY 73, Lance”
QSL via his home callsign direct.

suggested frequencies are above under “C2, NAURU”. QSL via YL2GN direct
or ClubLog (for direct or by the Bureau) for paper QSLs. Full LoTW upload
will be done 6 months after the end of the DXpedition. For more details
and updates, see (new URL): http://www.lral.lv/c21ww_t30l/index.html
Please do not send log correction requests. Corrections will not be
provided. All individual supporters 20 USDs+ will receive direct QSL.
Please do not send your QSL to them via Bureau – they are not required.
