It's the middle of the night and Chip can't sleep.

He lies on the deck of the albatross, hands pillowed behind his head, staring up into the moonless sky.

The stars shine and dance to an all too familiar tune, one that Chip knows intimately, but he can't quite find the strength to recall where from.

Still, it brings him some sort of comfort.

Chip's vision swims at the sea of stars, and he absently reaches a hand out to them. they part at his touch, swirling around his hand, following every motion.

His eyes reflect the constellations, glowing in their own right.

the stars and the sky, from long ago and very far away and very deep inside him, extended a hand. 

they did not wait for his response. 

white searing light reached into his chest. 

they pulled out the strings and writing of his soul. 

they rewrote it, etched runes of whispered secrets into the back of his eyelids

and it burns

Chip watches it unfold again and again and again and again. He feels so very far away from the deck of the albatross, so very far away from his body, from himself.

the stars tucked whispers behind his ear, carved in a script he cannot speak but still knows all the same. 

they stole his breath and melded it into the stardust that now coats the inside of his lungs.

the stars had cupped his face in their hands, wiped away his tears, put the neverending darkness and light there instead.

Something catches Chip's eye.

Jay stands on the deck, her skin shimmers with golden light, so bright it would be blinding. her one yellow eye is alight in a roaring inferno, the rest of her face lost to the light. wings of a phoenix sprout out behind her. threads of golden fire form her hair, her ferin pin stark against it.

"chip," she says, voice echoing in the nothingness. "why are you awake?"

chip blinks. a haze lifts from his mind. jay frowns at him.

"I dunno. Guess I couldn't sleep."

ahhhhhh Gregory and Janine both walking out the door on Valentine’s Day with the wrong person for them. Maurice buying the bag that Janine doesn’t really value as an expensive item and Amber commenting on it and being impressed by it vs. Gregory buying Amber the flower Lego set (those things are so cool btw!! My friend has one!) and Amber not really valuing it either and also the earlier set up conflict with Gregory being insecure about money and if you look at Amber she cares more about that whereas Janine also doesn’t have much to spend and ugh it’s such good set up

the thing about katya is that she on some level KNOWS she's in a tragedy. shes very aware of the cycle of violence she helps perpetuate. hello besties i am having a fucking dayyyyy. oh my god. I just want to drink and eat some good food but the place i wanted to eat at I just. felt odd about going in bc it was an empty restuarant so i went home and i’m just gonna order uber eats but my roommates are home and I just don’t wanna eat with them here and I can go on the balcony and thats also another Hassle bc of the trash and then questions and I want to drink a fucking beeerrr buti know alcohol isnt allowed in the dorms and like ofc im not gonna get drunk I just want a beer to blow off some steam but then if I drink here my roommates are such sticklers to the the rules so like i’ll feel odd and if I drink alone at the park i just feel like a loser. the alternative is to bring a flask and pour it in there and drink on the balcony but idk why I’m like reluctant. Also my phone needs to charge and I’m just... hhhh.everything ya know!! its not that deep, its really not I just feel so weird and out of place even though i swore I was getting used to it and yea no I’m just going crazy. I think I need to eat food.
