I hate finding out that people that I care about/look up to hate me on a core level. Like recently, my union rep sent out an email saying that we (as the collective staff) are no longer allowed to discuss LGBTQ+ topics bc some people’s discussions had begun to edge on hate-crimey. My coworkers, who not only know I’m hella queer but also have always seemed very accepting of it, have been having borderline hate-crimey conversations and while they might not be directly about me, they affect me.

I always thought they were all accepting and for lack of a better word I can’t think of, woke. I fucking hate this.

Well done, Canada. From the coverage I've seen so far, the message was sent home loud and clear in cities across the country. There's a huge amount of work to be done, but for now, REST, and re-energize.

A small win for pride month. It looks like my local school district will be getting two new union endorsed candidates. Perhaps more importantly we are not getting any bigots.

The runner up (soundly defeated with half as many votes as the new trustees), believe that the First Nations kids were lying about widespread discrimination. He was going to fight and prevent action from being take on discriminatory practices.

One of the losers (who pulled early and spoiled 69 bigots advanced votes) was determined to stop education about Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity . To be clear the school board doesn't make curriculum decisions so he could only have engaged in petty sabotage. He insisted on ignoring a question about collective bargaining to instead rant about "parental rights" before getting shouted down by the town hall audience. He then stormed off saying he "Didn't have time for this".

Local Elections are the most important and the most impactful. Less than 7% of the population voted

Really hate that the most extreme sides of Christianity and queer communities (secular or religious) on this site keep going for each other's throats while those who find themselves in between feel no choice but to just sit there and watch as their experiences get used as battering rams for each group's rhetoric, or end up screamed at or treated like pariahs for not falling perfectly in line with either group's values.

Ibara, on the other hand, was entirely unsurprised. All morning he had received whispers of good things to come, of joyous news on the horizon-- and as usual, this meant that rain was in their near future. An umbrella was unnecessary simply because Ibara didn't mind being wet, unfazed by both her school jacket and hero costume being soaked through.

"But it gladdens my heart, nonetheless." So serene and welcoming... truly, rain was possibly the best type of weather to have. For a moment Shiozaki just watches the scene with a placid smile, before looking back and realizing that Sero was shivering instead of sharing in the joy.

"Are you cold? I can go find you an umbrella... Will Kamui Woods mind if we're a little late?"
