55 years ago... Apollo 7 Apollo 7 commander, US Navy Captain NASA astronaut Walter "Wally" Schirra became the only astronaut to have flown on Mercury, Gemini and Apollo spaceflight missions, totalling 12 days 7 hours in space! Wristwatch-wise Schirra was the first to wear an Omega Speedmaster during a spaceflight as he wore his personal CK2998 during the 1962 Mercury “Sigma 7″ flight. But he always enjoyed Rolex, as between missions he was often pictured wearing his GMT-master 1675 Pepsi. This 1968 photo shows Walter Schirra posing with a Hasselblad camera for the upcoming Apollo 7 mission. Rolex magazine and Niccoloy found out Schirra wore his personal Rolex Daytona 6240 chronograph, look closely at the screw down pushers in the cut-out! (Photo: NASA)

I have heard Weekend Warrior, I've really enjoyed it, but I'm biased as I'm usually obsessed with whatever clipping. is putting out anyways, their work is so out there to begin with. I really enjoy the whole weekend warrior EP as a whole. Home is where the ohm is, is a fire line.

Me and my Skelethon vinyl beg to differ. Always been an Aes fan, seen him 5 times now. I don't have the same complaints about SWFG that most fans have about the mix and the sound, but I also don't find it very compelling as an album either. The Impossible Kid has grown on me over the years though I will say.

Integrated Tech Solutions let me down. Don't get me wrong I love the album as a whole, but after the opening track and lead single I was prepared for a concept album centered around this corporate techno-feudal gimmick. However it's really only present in the opening tracks. Perhaps it's my primarily rock background, but Skelethon is my album I'll always return to. There's not a song on there I could ever skip and I can't go a month without replaying it.

I need to stop before I go on and on about his music, I'm obsessed. Ever heard of Sadistik? Any thoughts on him?

Aww, man, I'm jealous. I've never gotten to see him live and he doesn't tour anymore.

I agree that ITS could have been better, I was hoping for more of the concept album you suggest here. I think that's a big part of my fondness for SWFG, the way that it feels like a cohesive concept from start to finish.

The only Sadistik song I know is the collab with Eyedea just before he died, Chemical Burns. That song is so good, it's been on my main playlist for years and has shown up on my Spotify wrapped a couple times. What else of his should I check out?

Integrated Tech Solutions, Aesop Rock (2023)

I once properly, thoroughly critiqued an Aesop Rock release (his last major solo one, 2020’s Spirit World Field Guide, in fact) and that shit was exhausting. I won’t do so again – so, in summary, ITS is one of his better ones (superior to Bazooka Tooth, Skelethon, Malibu Ken and Garbology) but not as good as his finest (Labor Days, The Impossible Kid and SWFG). Y’know, decent.

March 1969… Apollo 9 in Low Earth Orbit. The official Apollo 9 mission logo, designed by Allen Stevens, showed all hardware  for an Apollo lunar mission. The mighty Saturn V launch vehicle, the  Command & Service Module and the Lunar Module. The Apollo 9 mission evaluated spacecraft lunar module systems docking  & rendezvous performance during manned Earth-orbital flight with CSM “Gumdrop” and LM “Spider”. This is  a high quality Bullion patch version of the Apollo 9 mission logo. Note the red “D” in McDivitt to mark this was the D-mission in alphabetical order of the Apollo Moon landing program. The 10 days Apollo 9 mission ended with splash-down & recovery onboard USS Guadalcanal in the North Atlantic Ocean.
