ALTERNATE BUILD FOR SHADOW KNIGHT PATHFINDER EDDITION
@heliosthegriffin i was bored so i thought i'd show you an alternate build for jaune in pathfinder stats for this will be heroic, meaning I roll 2d6 and add 6 to it. str: 18+2 (human bonus) 20 dex: 14 con: 12 int: 9 (bad roll on those dice there jaune) wis: 11 cha: 18 (jaune's a very pretty boy) so there's the stats for all the jaune's builds (ones I will be doing in the future to help our boy move around he will be given the mythic ability impossibly fast pushing his base speed up by 30ft to a respectable 6ft of movement and the mythic feat run which multiplies that by 7 when he's running, with just this he'll be running at 40ish miles per hour though he'll need to stop and rest if he does it for too long. for the tldr: all together at level ten jaune would be doing 1d8+15+6+9 from power attack to a total of 30 fucking damage per hit, I should tell you that it's a strong fucking attack, add in vital strike on combat patrol and jaune can effectively wipe out hords of people in a single round each with just 1 punch with all the bonuses to his speed applied he can run at almost 80mph and most of that would be roof jumping too so he can get around really fucking fast. one thing to note is that because his stype requires he wear no armor he's kinda a glass cannon, his boosts to his ac are great and all but some bracers of armor would be really helpful, also gunns will fuck him up
first up, the sinister Mr fister gear: monks robes (his super hero costume), masterwork handwraps (+1 to hit unarmed) human vigilante/avenger, warrior poet/ order of the songbird lv1: Dual identity, seamless guise, social talent, vigilante specialization Dancer’s Grace, Flourish, first level feats (dodge, mobility (they'll be important later)) social talent: Social Grace, diplomacy vigilante specialization: avenger
florish: Exodus of Jinin (+10 to movement speed)
lv2: Versatile Performance, vigilante talent
Versatile Performance: string
vigilante talent: fist of the Avenger, gain improved unarmed strike feat and add half your vigilante level to the damage done with fist or gauntlet to a max of +5 LV3: feat, Social talent, unshakable, flourish feat: dragon style (jaune's starting to learn how to punch really good at this point, social talent: Entrepreneur diplomacy (jaune gets the skill abilities of the unchained rouge for anything he got social grace for, he can also use it in place of profession to make money, not sure how one uses diplo to make money but if you have an idea let me know) florish: Exodus of Jinin (+10 to movement speed)
lv4: Vigilante talent, ability score improvement (+1dex), graceful strike.
vigilante talent: Lethal Grace (Ex): The vigilante combines strength and speed into incredibly deadly attacks. He gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat, and if he already has the Weapon Finesse feat, he can immediately swap it for another feat for which he qualified at the level he chose Weapon Finesse. When using Weapon Finesse to make a melee attack using his Dexterity bonus on attack rolls and his Strength bonus on damage rolls, he also adds half his vigilante level on damage rolls. This bonus damage is not reduced or increased if the vigilante is wielding a weapon two-handed or in an off-hand. combined with Graceful Strike (Ex): At 4th level, when the warrior poet uses Weapon Finesse to make a melee attack that adds her Dexterity bonus to attack rolls and her Strength bonus to damage rolls, she also adds half her samurai level to damage rolls
means that now jaune's doing his level + half to all unarmed strikes, this is a lot of static damage, I'll show it at the end but it's a fucking doozy LV5: Social talent, startling appearance, flourish, feat
florish: Exodus of Jinin (+10 to movement speed) social talent: renown (jaune's now making a name for himself in vale. mainly just the 1 neighborhood and all but it's still important.
feat: stunning fist lv6: vigilante talent and battle dance
vigilante talent: Shield of Blades add minus to attack to ac when using power attack. free power attack bonus feat battle dance: free spring attack LV7: challenge 3/day, social talent, feat social talent: great renown (jaune's making a real splash) feat: dragon's ferocity lV 8: vigilante talent: combat skill: combat reflexes, poetic inspiration from order of the song bird ability score improvement +1 dex
Poetic Inspiration (Ex) At 8th level, an order of the songbird samurai can speak a few words as a swift action, inspiring allies to great deeds. Allies within 30 feet who can hear the samurai gain a competence bonus equal to her Charisma modifier on attack and weapon damage rolls for 1 round.
This ability can be used once per combat.
LV9: social talent: safe house (jaune now has a safe place to lay low and recover as well as keep his stuff since the hunt is now on for the vigilante)
feat: combat patrol
LV10: vigilante talent: vital punishment (can now use vital strike on attacks of opportunity.) combined with combat patrol this means jaune can now wipe out entire hords of bad guys singlehandedly though he only gets two attacks per turn right now since he didn't get two weapon fighter, I like to imagine this is because a lot of his dragon style relies on big kicks for knock outs.

some thoughts about fighting games and multiplayer games in general
i have never been a very competitive person. this is largely fine—even in competitive/adversarial games that my friends like to play i'm still well capable of participating and having fun while knowing that i'll probably lose. i can still enjoy games like risk that require competitiveness to win because losing can still be fun.
i find it very hard to truly enjoy playing fighting games with my more skilled friends. it's not just that i don't have the reflexes or don't know the moves (played samurai gunn 2 which has like 2 moves and i still sucked bad) and it's not that i don't have the competitive nature necessary to really push myself to get gud (i'm piss at risk and settlers of catan but i can still make fun interesting decisions while i'm losing). it's that because of the way that fighting games are inherently designed, it is impossible to have fun while losing.
in other games, losing is a process, one that you can still be active for even after the point of no return. in fighting games, when you know you're about to lose, there's nothing you can even do for fun. if you're in the middle of a combo, all you can really do is spam block/dodge and hope one of them lands.
skill gaps are a thing in many games obviously, it's unavoidable. some people will have been playing from day 0 and some will have only joined. for me, a fun multiplayer game is one where not knowing the game by heart doesn't make you inherently better or, barring that, one where you can still affect the game even if there's no recovering yourself. this includes coop games.
in most survival games like minecraft, terraria, and don't starve a skill gap between two players is a very unfun thing for the less skilled. you don't actually get to play the game if you don't know how, and there's so much game you have to learn, and resources and monsters and it's very quickly overwhelming. and it's also unfun for the more skilled player to be ferrying around the other while playing. the best solution i've found is to let the unskilled player play on their own while the more advanced player offers advice, but for a few obvious reasons it's imperfect.
risk of rain 2, in my opinion, is the best case scenario. a more skilled player has a slight advantage, but since the game bases abilities off class features instead of a single base character, two players will be playing very differently regardless of skill level. an unskilled huntress and a skilled railgunner will be contributing roughly equal amounts because they'll be focusing on doing different things. and if one player dies, it doesn't mean loss, it only means a slight handicap.

Top Movies I Watched in 2023 (Not Of)
SPOILERS!
7. One Piece: Film Z (Sub) - 6.5/10
Tumblr media
This is the only One Piece film I recall seeing. It was alright, Sanji belongs in jail, and fucking loved and sobbed at the ending. I'm not even joking when I say, anytime I hear Ocean Guide, I cry.
Just the scene of Zephy/Z fighting the Marines as the music soars! One that marine cried for his sensei's death! AAAAAHHHH! When Kuzan told Z's last crew members not to cry, because he died doing what wanted/believed in!
WHEN THE FLASHBACK SHOWED ZEPHYR AS A CHILD CALLING HIMSELF THE HERO OF JUSTICE! Z!
AND THE FUCKING FILM ENDS WITH THE SOUND OF HIS MECHANICAL ARM AND IT SAYING THE FILM'S NAME!
I am crying as I write this!
Though I don't care for most of the film, the ending is fucking perfect and I refuse to debate it.
That's it, done, end of discussion. Sanji seriously belongs in Jail and I pray for the live-action actor to not get as shafted by his character.
6. Godzilla Minus One - 7/10
Tumblr media
I was like that DiCaprio meme every time an actor I recognized appeared.
I know how fucked up it is, but I sincerely wanted the MC to die. I did, I was hoping for it, and when that one survivor guy was constantly giving him shit and even reminded him about his own failure to attack Godzilla (understandable), I was ready. But nah, the camera back up after the guy said, "and one thing."
I was disappointed. I'm fine if he survivors, but not his no-wife. She was literally blown back by Godzilla's nuke beam. Great scene as well.
I also loved the music and the scene where the men who fought Godzilla saluted his death. That was great.
I did not care for the sequel bait.
5. Baragaki: Unbroken Samurai - 7/10
Tumblr media
I waited a year or so to watch this, I enjoyed it. I love Ryosuke Yamada as Okita Souji. I was really fucking surprised to see Murakami Nijiro in this, I didn't know he was.
This is yet another example of me knowing how they die, but still being upset at their deaths.
4. The Menu (2022) - 7/10
Tumblr media
3. Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3 - 7/10
Tumblr media
James Gunn made me believe that the MCU was back, it wasn't, but he did make me believe it.
2. The Grand Budapest Hotel - 8/10
Tumblr media
1. Redline (Dub) - 8/10
Tumblr media
If I had not heard the song, "And it's so beautiful," I likely would not have seen REDLINE.
I am glad I did.
Redline crushed me with it's ending.

Top 10 upcoming games
Another year is nearing its end. It frightens me, but looking back, many things has changed between now and when I was writing this list last year. It’s time for another update. There are 10 games on this list (8 of them new) and there are many other upcoming releases I’ve been keeping a track of, but most of them aren’t as important as the first two. Only the last act of Kentucky Route Zero and unity’s latest RPG Maker epic are games I can’t imagine sitting out or stopped being hyped about. 2020 ought to see both of them released and I will be afk for months only playing them at the end of the year. I think many other changes await me and I might not be back for another round next December.
There quite a few interesting upcoming games I couldn’t or didn’t want to fit on the list. They get their spotlight in individual posts just to show you how pretty some of them are.
10. Renaine
Maybe I should just play Shovel Knight or Celeste, because Renaine probably targets the same audience and I would like to play both of the eventually (on Switch ofc), but there’s something I really like about the upcoming game. Firstly, there’s barely any hype surrounding it. Secondly, it looks retro but in a original way with its architecture being overfilled with various pipes and other mechanical details. It’s fantasy with industrial tones but these feel more related to it being a computer game than its setting. Te color palette is so vibrant, it always warms my heart looking at the game’s screenshots.
Tumblr media
9. the machine that BREATHES
I’m not a big fan of horror games and this probably wouldn’t make the cut for this list if it weren’t a shweep’s creation. the machine that BREATHES probably is his best looking game up to date and promising a serious experience inspired by Radio The Universe among others. It’s a smaller project, so it’s also interesting to follow for its scope and frequent updates, which can provide interesting takes on individual decisions. Read this one to explore the world of retro gaming resolutions.
Tumblr media
8. Lunark
I can’t express enough how much I enjoy the look and feel of this game without sharing some of it again. Cinematic platformers are a niche genre, which is niche, because it’s not ver good. The few examples the genre has all look great and I love them for it, but they’re also usually terrible to control. I guess this one’s more about the hype and screenshots too. It looks like a forerunner for the next PICO machine with it’s great use of pink and bright green. The pixel art is lo-rez yet the quality of it far surpasses most true sixteen bit retro games. And the setting? It’s Prey 2, isn’t it?
Tumblr media
7. Welcome to Elk
Putting most games next to Lunark feels weird. In case of Welcome to Elk, it’s because their visual styles clash. They’re both good but there’s a huge gap between old school pixel art and classic illustration combined with other techniques. This game hits me like a rock with its combination of charming graphics, which make characters likable without knowing them and melancholic storytelling, which is based on true stories. I wonder how this combo will work out and I’m definitely on board with whatever the result is.
Tumblr media
6. Exile’s Journey
This one’s getting released really early in 2020, on 1st January. I’m hyped about it because it’s a master class in mapping and probably the most atmospheric RPG Maker game I have seen since Paradise Blue. In terms of gameplay or story I don’t expect much, but I can already see myself drooling over its maps and beautiful vistas.
Tumblr media
5. Signs of the Soujourner
I wouldn’t expect this one to stick. But reading a mention here and there and watching the great trailer multiple times (Echodog managed to keep it short and sweet) hooked me up and now I’m excited for a card game about chatting. That said the world somewhere between Pokemon and tramp America attracts me too. It’s the combination of juicy mechanics, immediately captivating environments, mysterious characters and wonderful chill tunes what puts this one on my shortlist of games to play in 2021.
youtube
4. Unto the End
I don’t really care about combat, what I dig is the atmosphere. Some six or seven games or on this list because they either look or move or sound great. Unto the End does the former two excellently and even in its screenshots and trailer it managed to capture me and transport me in its dark world. Despite it not being a metroidvania, it’s this high on my list.
Tumblr media
3. Samurai Gunn 2
Yes, this is mandatory. I get my pants wet every time I see a screenshot. I love the swag of Doesone and Beau Blyth. I love the theme it reminds me of Wu-Tang and The Man with Iron Fists in particular. There’s nowhere to hurry with this one and I can’t wait to try it out on my future switch one day. There should be a singleplayer story to play through and that makes me very happy as local multiplayer is difficult to organize for me. The problem is I usually prefer to talk with my friends when I see them
Tumblr media
2. Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening
Over the years, this has become a super expected project, a labour of love full of great dialogues and characters with battles, which are fun. I expect so much from unity on this one and I know that she’s capable of delivering it. For those who tripped over this post by an accident, Weird and Unfortunate Things are Happening is a free RPG Maker game about saving one town from hands of otherworldly creatures. You play as Alicia and Miriam and let me tell you, there’s something in the air between the two. I just love it and can’t wait for the full release.
Tumblr media
1. Kentucky Route Zero: Act V
I could cop paste the last year’s comment. Not much has changed. I don’t know anything new about it and it still is one of my favourite games of all times. I’m really looking forward to the conclusion of it and because it will have been so long since playing Act IV, I probably will close myself at my room for a weekend and play all five parts, when Act V gets released.

Samurai Gunn
Samurai Gunn is one of the most accessible fighting games you’ll find. It has nearly no learning curve, nothing you need to know before you begin to feel in control; timing, reflexes and strategy alone determine the outcome. Yet it is not a game that tires quickly. This balance is achieved by adhering to simple combat mechanics, while relying on freedom of movement and interactive arenas to provide endless variations in the fighting.

Well, Saturday's been a big whopper. Got to prank a TV fanatic with a fake broken screen, uploaded the video in time for April Fools, live streamed the Rivals Direct and even began working on the next project. I'll be picking up Samurai Gunn 2 and see how it plays with only Ranno involved. For now, I need some rest.
But first, speaking of all things Ranno, gaze upon this handsome and sexy pose!
Tumblr media
And just in case anyone's wondering what's up, yes. I plan to recreate this piece with a bit of a toony aesthetic. :)
