U-Prince Series: Playful Comm Arts (2016)

And another U-Prince review... Ah... At least, from now, the reviews will be a bit more spaced, since I finished doing reviews on all the parts who are finished.

U-Prince The Series: The Playful Comm-Arts is a school romantic comedy. Jung dreams of making Kiran from the comm-arts faculty her boyfriend. One day, she is involved in a tricycle accident and encounters the god of death. As she’s send back to the living world, she starts to go in trances every time she touches her crush.

This review is pretty short since I didn’t especially liked the drama. As always, I tried to put the less spoilers possible in the review, but always stay careful.

For the plot, I’ll start by saying that i didn’t find the story really interesting, so it might be biased, which I can’t change. I mean, it’s a question of preferences. As any of the U-Prince Series’ part, the story is really cliché and the story seems, on-screen, quite rushed. It’s the only U-Prince so far that included supernatural and it was kind of useless. I know some might say that without it, the story wouldn’t have the same progression, etc. But, I’ll be honest. The supernatural made the romance really awkward and allowed a banal ending that I didn’t like at all. I wasn’t really into the story and just quickly went over it because I decided I would cover the whole U-Prince Series. Personally, I didn’t find it that good. Luckily, the drama was short. I wouldn’t be able to say whether or not there were lengths, I skipped way too much parts to give an statement that wouldn’t be biased.

For the characters, there isn’t much to say. As in any U-Prince Series the length of the drama doesn’t allow them to undergo true development, so they stay pretty much the same at the exception of a few subtle changes here and there. First, I immediately found the female lead annoying when she was in The Bad-Ass Baker and finding her in The Playful Comm-Arts didn’t change my opinion of her. She was way too much on the male lead and her rush made the drama quite awkward, in my point of view. Second, the male lead is really typical by being the usual too into his work character that doesn’t know where to set his boundaries. At their exception, there isn’t a character truly worth mentioning, since the others are even less developed than them.

I’ll conclude here because I have nothing left to write about. The plot would deserve a 6/10 even if I don’t take in consideration the whole part about lengths. The characters would deserve a mere 2/5 because I can’t bring myself to give a lower grade. The tearjerker factor would be a 1/5.
