Often referred to as the “Blue Pearl,” wandering through its narrow cobblestone streets feels like stepping into a surreal dreamscape. From browsing artisanal handicrafts in the medina to hiking in the surrounding countryside, Chefchaouen offers a perfect blend of cultural immersion and natural beauty.
2. Zhangjiajie, China
Tucked away in the Hunan province of China, Zhangjiajie is a realm of towering sandstone pillars, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls. This UNESCO World Heritage Site served as inspiration for the floating mountains in James Cameron’s blockbuster film, Avatar. Visitors can ride the Bailong Elevator, the world’s tallest outdoor elevator, for panoramic views, hike along the glass-bottomed walkways of Tianmen Mountain, or explore the otherworldly landscapes of the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area.
3. Lofoten Islands, Norway
Situated above the Arctic Circle, the Lofoten Islands boast dramatic fjords, towering peaks, and pristine beaches that defy expectations of Norway’s icy reputation. Whether you’re chasing the midnight sun in summer or the elusive Northern Lights in winter, Lofoten offers a myriad of outdoor adventures, including kayaking amidst rugged coastlines, hiking to remote fishing villages, and sampling freshly caught seafood in quaint seaside eateries.
4. Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Comprising over 1,500 small islands and cays, this remote archipelago is renowned for its unparalleled biodiversity, making it a mecca for snorkelers and scuba enthusiasts alike. Beyond the reefs, visitors can trek through lush rainforests, encounter indigenous tribes, and unwind on secluded beaches fringed with palm trees.
5. Svalbard, Norway
Venture to the northernmost inhabited region of Europe, and you’ll find Svalbard, a remote Arctic wilderness where polar bears outnumber humans. Despite its harsh climate, this archipelago offers intrepid travelers a chance to witness untouched landscapes, from vast glaciers to rugged mountains, and encounter unique wildlife, including reindeer, Arctic foxes, and walruses. Whether you’re embarking on a snowmobile safari, exploring abandoned mining towns, or witnessing the ethereal beauty of the Northern Lights, Svalbard promises an unforgettable adventure.
6. Socotra, Yemen
Located in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Somalia, Socotra is a surreal island that feels like a scene from another planet. With their dramatic landscapes and welcoming locals, the Faroe Islands are a hidden gem waiting to be explored.
In a world where travel has become synonymous with ticking off bucket list destinations, it’s easy to overlook the charm and allure of offbeat gems. However, by venturing beyond the familiar, travelers can uncover hidden treasures, forge authentic connections, and create memories that transcend the confines of tourist hotspots. House Washing Services for Home Exterior
Tumblr media
Pressure washing can be a cost-effective way to keep your house looking clean and fresh. It also prevents mold, mildew, and other contaminants from deteriorating your home's exterior.
The cost of power washing varies based on the size of your house, deck, or patio and the amount of dirt, mold, or mildew that needs to be removed. Identifying a local power washing company can help you get a fair price for your project.
Pressure Washing
Pressure washing is a cleaning method that uses a spray of water to remove dirt and grime from surfaces. It is a common way to clean cars, sidewalks, decks, and houses.
There are two main types of pressure washers: electric and gas-powered. The gas-powered variety creates more psi and is recommended for more challenging jobs.
It also offers better mobility than an electric model.
A power washer is used for heavy-duty jobs and can remove grease, blackened materials, and other stubborn stains. The machine applies water pressure and heat to break down and dissolve hard-to-remove substances.
The hot water from a power washer can be dangerous to your home's exterior. It is because it can cause damage to your siding, sandstone, asphalt roofing, and other surface materials.
Using the proper nozzle when washing your house with a pressure washer is also essential. However, you should avoid using a nozzle that squirts water at an angle, which can cause permanent damage to your property.
Soft Washing
Soft washing is a safe, gentle method of cleaning that uses water mixed with natural biodegradable detergents. It is a much better option than power washing, which uses harsh chemicals that can damage your home or environment.
The cleaning process involves spraying low-pressure water and unique solutions at the surface to remove mildew, algae, or other organic stains. The answer typically contains bleach to kill the spores and organisms.
It also includes water to dilute the bleach and prevent it from damaging your roof tiles. The high-pressure water used in power washing can harm your roofing tiles and cause them to crack or even break.
A dirty roof is not only an annoyance but can also lead to serious health problems for your family and your pets. That's why it is essential to clean your roof frequently. A professional can do a thorough job of soft washing your roof to keep it looking good and healthy for years to come!
Roof Cleaning
A dirty roof can have many effects on a home's overall appearance. It can also lead to costly repairs and damages, so regular roof cleaning can minimize these problems and preserve your investment.
Besides its aesthetic value, regular roof cleaning can extend the life of your roof by removing buildups such as moss, algae, and mildew. In addition, it helps prevent wood rot and damage to your gutters by eliminating clogs.
A professional roof cleaning service like house washing services Richmond VA uses eco-friendly solutions recommended by roofing shingle manufacturers. Depending on the type of roof your home has, we may use either pressure washing or soft washing methods.
Pressure washing involves spraying highly pressurized water onto the roof to remove stains, mold, grime, and dirt. It is best for metal and concrete roofs but can cause damage to shingles when used excessively. Meanwhile, soft washing, or chemical cleaning, uses chemicals to remove harmful elements on the top.
Window Cleaning
Window washing is cleaning glass surfaces on the outside of buildings. Various methods, including manual and robotic equipment, do it.
The US Bureau of Labor Statistics lists this occupation as part of the janitorial services group. However, some sources list window cleaners separately from janitorial workers.
Generally, this job requires a lot of handworks. It also requires access to high windows.
A professional will have experience with commercial-grade cleaning solutions and can remove tough stains or buildup without leaving streaks on the surface. It can be a huge time-saver.
When hiring a company, it's essential to get multiple free estimates. It's also a good idea to check that the company is insured. It will ensure you're not liable for any injuries the worker suffers while working on your property.

9 Top-Rated Attractions & Things to Do in Roanoke, VA
Tumblr media
Roanoke is a popular tourist destination, whether you're a culture vulture seeking out unique museums and attractions or an active vacationer seeking out outdoor adventures. The city is a four-season destination for avid hikers, rock climbers, recreational boaters, and sportfishing enthusiasts, and is located in the picturesque Roanoke Valley in southwestern Virginia. In-town greenways, cultural diversions, diverse dining, and unique shopping discoveries await urban explorers. Whatever your vacation style, keep our list of Roanoke's top attractions and things to do handy.
1. Mill Mountain Park & the Roanoke Star
Mill Mountain Park, which is home to the famous Roanoke Star (also known as the Mill Mountain Star), has more than 10 miles of multi-use trails (hiking, walking, and biking) where visitors can experience the region's all-season natural beauty.
Take the Mill Mountain Star Trail, a 3.5-mile round-trip from the base trail, to the summit of Mill Mountain, the city's highest point at 1,703 feet, for a moderately challenging hike. Hikers are rewarded with two scenic overlooks atop the mountain after climbing 838 feet in elevation. The Star Trail parking lot, located just off Riverland Road SE at the Star/Wood Thrush Connector, has plenty of free parking and clear signage.
Connect with the short Watchtower Trail for the best panoramic views and photos right at the base of the Roanoke Star, one of Virginia's most famous landmarks. The National Register of Historic Landmarks has listed this unusual landmark, which was built in 1949 as a temporary Christmas decoration by the local merchants association. The giant star, at 89 feet in height, is America's largest star. It is visible from up to 60 miles away and is lit every evening until midnight.
Hikers are welcome to bring their leashed dogs, and there are picnic tables, restrooms, and water along the Mill Mountain Spur Trail en route to the Discovery Center, a naturalist centre with exhibits on the park, local wildlife, and trail maps. Mill Mountain Zoo, a small but lively enclave with local critters such as the Indian crested porcupine, red wolf, and yellow-spotted side-necked turtle, will appeal to children of all ages.
2. Carvins Cove Natural Reserve
Carvins Cove Natural Reserve, with more than 60 miles of trails surrounding an 800-acre reservoir, is known among locals as a haven for off-road mountain biking. The reserve, which is the second largest municipal park in the United States, spans nearly 13,000 acres, the majority of which is protected by the state of Virginia's largest conservation easement.
Trail maps are available for purchase, and bikers can get local advice on which trails are best suited for their experience level at Just The Right Gear, a cycling shop near the Bennett Springs parking lot (one of three reserve entrances — the others are Marina and Timber View). There are also rentals of high-end bikes and gear.
On the Easy Street, Kit & Kaboodle, The Skillet, and Enchanted Forest trails, beginners will find a gentler rise and more flats. On the Comet, Gauntlet, Hoe Trail, and Clownshead, riders seeking more difficult challenges will get exactly what they want. On the most difficult trails, expect to gain up to 2,400 feet in elevation.
Along these well-kept trails, riders will encounter packed dirt, loose gravel, and tamped soil. Canoeing (equipment rentals and instruction are available) and fishing are also popular activities at Carvins Cove.
3. Smith Mountain Lake
Smith Mountain Lake, one of Virginia's most popular — and the state's largest — has nearly 500 miles of shoreline, earning it the title of "Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains." Because state fisheries keep the lake well stocked, SML, as it's known by locals, has an especially impressive striped bass population. Anglers can book half- or full-day charters with a number of licenced guides who have plenty of experience traversing the 21,000-acre lake. They'll provide bait, equipment, and all of the necessary expertise to ensure that those fishing have a safe and enjoyable time on the water.
Crappies, bluegills, largemouth and smallmouth bass, as well as stripers, are among the tasty fish that make freshwater fishing at SML a popular tourist destination.
Waterskiing and wakeboarding, boating and sailing, and jet skiing are all fun activities to do on the lake. Swimming is also available at a family-friendly beach, and there are several golf courses nearby.
4. Roanoke Valley Greenways
The interconnected Roanoke Valley Greenway allows visitors to walk or bike along miles of trails in the area, which are safe, well-populated, and well-maintained. A popular trail in and around Roanoke is right along the Roanoke River, where deer, herons, geese, and other wildlife can be seen even in the city. Vic Thomas Park, just off Memorial Drive south of the river, is a great place to start your exploration. From there, you can easily join the Roanoke River Greenway.
A short distance away is the well-known Black Dog Salvage. Every visit to this nationally recognised purveyor of reclaimed architectural, commercial, and industrial fixtures and elements yields a fascinating, one-of-a-kind inventory. Visitors come from all 50 states to see Black Dog, which specialises in doors, windows, wrought iron, period lighting, garden statuary, and other specialty home components.
Head southeast on the Roanoke River Greenway towards Wasena Park after visiting Black Dog. At the Wasena Skate Park, kids can be seen hanging ten on their longboards. The park is always bustling with activity, and the locals' fancy footwork on their skateboards and blades is entertaining to watch.
On your way to the Tinker Creek Greenway, continue on the greenway and cross the Mill Mountain Greenway. Follow that road north for less than a mile and reward yourself with a picnic at Fallon Park's picnic area.
5. Taubman Museum of Art
The Taubman Museum of Art, one of the city's newest attractions (it opened in 2008), is a must-see for art lovers and casual culture consumers alike. The museum's permanent collection of 2,000 unique pieces is spread across 11 different galleries, including works by Thomas Cowperthwaite Eakins, Purvis Young, and John Cage, and is housed in a stunning modern design by renowned architect Randall Stout.
Visiting exhibits featuring work by some of America's best artists, including John James Audubon and Norman Rockwell, to name a few, are common. Photographic, folk art, and design-related exhibits are among the other highlights.
If you're travelling with children, look into children's programmes, such as hands-on workshops and interactive displays. On-site amenities include a café.
6. McAfee Knob
McAfee Knob is one of the most photographed places on the Appalachian Trail, thanks to its incredible vistas and spectacular rock overhang perch. The 3.5 miles of intermediate-to-difficult trails that lead up to the knob from the Virginia 311 parking lot are popular with hikers.
Climbers know it for the more than 70 gnarly sandstone and slick quartzite boulders that make for days of mini-summits. The majority of boulders are between 10 and 20 feet tall, with many crimps, jugs, pockets, and edges. Bring pads, lunch, and a buddy; it's never a good idea to go rock climbing alone, and McAfee is often deserted.
Another popular recreational area in Roanoke is the recently re-opened Explore Park, which is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The park features 1,100 acres of breathtaking scenery, numerous walking and hiking trails, as well as thrilling ziplines and a treetop adventure course that is appropriate for families with younger children. It also has a visitor centre and a gift shop, as well as camping and rustic cabins.
7. Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve
Bottom Creek Gorge Preserve is a popular destination for birders, nature lovers, and photographers. Bottom Creek, located less than 20 miles south of Roanoke, is one of the most important headwaters for the Roanoke River, and it offers visitors several well-marked trails to enjoy the vast hardwood forest, unspoiled landscape, and Virginia's second highest waterfall.
For the best vantage point to photograph the 200-foot cascading waterfall, the second tallest in Virginia, photographers should take the Red Trail (the longest trail here, at five miles round-trip). Bring a long/telephoto lens because the overlook at the end of the trail offers a clear, open shot, but the falls are a long way away. A side path off the Yellow Trail leads to other viewpoints of the falls.
8. Roanoke City Market
The historic City Market, also known as the Farmers' Market by locals, is open all year and offers boutique shopping, local produce, flowers, meat and cheese, local dining favourites, and some of Virginia's best people-watching. Pay close attention to the market's four mosaic tiled entrances, each of which contains over 2,000 pounds of porcelain tiles that reveal a little bit of the history of this storied public space.
9. Roanoke Pinball Museum
We’ve recently started a new family hobby – vintage record collecting! In keeping with this new found connection over the beloved old, we were delighted to take our girls to the Roanoke Pinball Museum and show them how we entertained ourselves long before the internet.
From the 1932 styles to the slightly more modern Munster’s machine which had a baby pinball inside the bigger one to play, you could get lost in here playing over 65 machines for hours.

The Final Stone, pt. I
Ruran Vas rested on the stone ridge, staring vacantly while waiting for the ferryman to finish preparations. He holds a wooden block and a carving knife together in one hand, but he doesn't seem keen on using it. Ellere Valahan moved back toward Ruran, after speaking with the ship captain. She sighed heavily, looking him over. "Everything is almost set, dear. Are you ready to go?"
Ruran turned his head, but their eyes did not meet. He takes a breath himself and gives a small nod. "As I will ever be," he murmured.
She reached out, running a hand over his armored forearm. The motion was more a comfort for herself than anything, knowing between all the layers and his clouded mind he would barely feel it.
"Ru'ranvas. Who is this?" An armored, and robed figure didn't approach the party; nor greeted them proper, for the matter.
Ruran shifted his attention to the gesture at his arm, but as expected, he did not react beyond that. The call of his name, however, causes his head to turn away toward the armored figure. "...Ellere," he said after a thoughtful pause. "A healer, a friend."
Nathaniel Salem remained perfectly statuesque, the helmet just barely leaving Ellere's profile, to find Ruran's figure. "Then, bid farewell, and let us be on our way. Time is of the essence."
Ellere put her hands on her hips, narrowing her eyes. "The mentor, I presume. A pleasure," she looked him over, then shook her head. "And I am afraid I am not going anywhere but with him."
"Sh-she wishes to--I want her to..." Thoughts did not seem capable of leaving him in a coherent manner.
Nathaniel snapped his helmet to Ruran as he chimed in, cold. Though there's little physical attitude to speak of, the impassible tone, even, denoted irritation.  "If you know my title and place in his esteem, you should also trust my thoughts. I expected resistance from his entourage, but the man is to face his trials alone." He studied Ellere through his helmet, an eerie, golden glint easily caught under there. "He is better off without distractions."
Ellere's hands were still firmly on her hips, and she clicked her tongue, "His friend," she corrected. "And quite honestly, I do not know you, as you do not know me. All I know, is he wishes for me to be here, and so I shall."
Nathaniel took steady steps in Ellere's direction soon after that, head high. Armored heels click heavily on the sandstone. When he stopped, the end of his staff hits the floor, and he keeps it firmly in hand, grip tightening. The thaumaturge turned to Ruran.
"...I thought our last discussion would have some lasting impact. Did my words hold so little value?" He turned back to Ellere, to finally address her proper, "To fulfill a dying man’s wish is commendable."
"I did as you asked," Ruran tried to defend. "She refused, and...I--...if these are to be my last moments, then...."
Nathaniel seemed to take Ruran's words into account, leaning back, ever so slightly. "...Then pray not interrupt. The will of the Twelve is at play here."
Ellere took a step forward, in return, rather determined. Behind them there was a whistle as the ship captain signaled for them to board, but she did not pay it mind other than a slight raise of her own hand. "Worry not about me, ser. I know full well the gravity."
The soulstone at Ruran's chest flickered, and as the bell rings out, the knight does not say anything more. He looks down and wrings a block of wood and carving knife in his hands.
"...No doubt. But knowing is not enough; you know enough to be driven to panic. That is why you're here, isn't it? Friendship. I bear no ill feelings towards a woman who would remain at their friend's side. But I will oppose myself to any man who would prevent my protégés to make their own decisions, even if it endangers them. I hope you like being uncomfortably close to strangers, Miss Ellere, was it?" He looked to Ruran. "I believe you spoke her name before you promised we would end this alone. Let's move."
"Then we are of the same mind, in some regard. I am here to support Ruran's choice, and no one else’s," she shook her head. Turning to Ruran first, and then back toward the ship, "Do not presume to know of my reasons otherwise. Ready, dear?" The last was directed once more to Ruran.
Nathaniel rested his staff vertically, end firmly planted on the ground. He waited for Ruran's answer.
The ship's bell rang again. "Y-yes, we are ready..." Ruran nodded and turned toward the boarding area. He managed to offer Ellere and Nathaniel each a small, apologetic look, should they glance his way again. Mostly, however, he kept his distant eyes on the ground.

Every homeowner should learn to take care of their pipes and drains to prevent any unnecessary pipe repair and replacement. Haynes Plumbing Services is a plumbing company in Stafford, VA that suggests you clean every drain in your home every month. It is also very important not to flush any solids into the toilet. Pouring grease down your kitchen drain also asks for trouble so you should avoid this too. They also suggest that you use your garbage disposal sparingly, keep roots away from your sewer line, and set your water pressure no higher than 80 psi. In addition, you should have your sewer line professionally inspected and cleaned at least every three years, keep your pipes from freezing, and replace old pipes.
West Virginia man charged with murder after overdose victim found dumped in ditch
STAFFORD, Va. (AP) — A West Virginia man accused of dumping the body of an overdose victim has been indicted on charges he supplied the woman with drugs. A Stafford County grand jury indicted Dontae Marcellus Sanders, 28, on a felony murder charge Monday, The Free Lance-Star reported. The Weirton, West Virginia, man was also charged with distributing illegal drugs and concealment of a dead body, the newspaper said. Read more here.
Drugs are meant to help cure diseases and ease ailments but when they land in the wrong hands and taken in ways other than they were intended for, people can get hurt, and much worse, pass away. Dontae Marcellus Sanders, 28, a resident of Weirton, West Virginia was charged by a Stafford County grand jury with a felony on murder. He was also charged with illegal drug distribution and concealment of a dead body. Sanders' victim, Ashley Nicole Childs, 28, was discovered by a passerby in a ditch in October and was reported to have died of drug overdose. Sanders could carry a sentence of between five and 40 years in prison. His next appearance in court is not disclosed
Government Island in Stafford, VA
Government Island is a 17-acre historic scenic nature preserve and archaeological site located at 191 Coal Landing Road Stafford, VA. This 18th- and 19th-century quarry site is where the Aquia sandstone for the construction of the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and other historic buildings in Washington, D.C. came from. Visitors can enter the park for free and engage in bird-watching and observe aquatic and native plants and other wildlife on the boardwalk. It also has a 5-mile trail with interpretive signs that help depict its rich, nationally significant history. It is on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Landmarks Register.
If you are having problems with your clogged sewer line and are looking for a plumbing contractor in Stafford, Virginia, call Haynes Plumbing. A buildup of grease and gunk inside a pipe is the main cause of a clogged sewer line. Greasy and fatty foods that you knowingly and unknowingly send down your drain cause a sticky buildup and eventually block your drain, sending wastewater back up to your home. Sometimes, the blockage may be caused by the growth of roots from nearby trees into the sewer line. Whatever the problem may be, the professional plumbers from Haynes Plumbing will definitely solve it!

Hasta ahora he:
· Desayunado NO · Automedicado NO · Hecho ejercicio NO · Hablado con alguien NO
Date tiempo.
“I can haunt you too, if you want me too”
Yo he temblado, y eso me basta.
13.47
A colación de lo anterior.
“my body is shale & sandstone - dig deep to well its worth. I made a map of my scars and warts - the pieces i cut away. I am a stone clastic and coarse grained. I was formed for this world. I am not afraid of my body - I hope you feel the same way about yours- I won’t let fear take anything away.”
~·~
[Cuatro y algo, estando en clase]
Tengo miedo a no poder dormir sin drogarme. Y si no duermo, pienso. Y si pienso, tengo miedo a solo querer morirme.
Me ofrece helado y B12.
