When I read about the "great purge" of 2002 or 2012 (I wasn't on Tumblr or FF. net during this time, I was literally just EMAILING my fanfic out to my friends lol), it always blows my mind how they say so many fics were just... lost.
I get that some of those were "orphaned" fics where the author wasn't available anymore or wasn't going to bother uploading anywhere else. But. Otherwise. Like. what.
What do you mean you don't have backups of backups saved on illegally downloaded word processors. What do you mean you wrote the whole fic on a browser and didn't save it anywhere else. What do you mean.

seeing personality disorder discussion on the dashboard. the impulse to share all the self-therapy books and tools we have has never been stronger
#our files are so disorganized but we have a bunch of them saved to a dropbox file#the clinical model is letting you all down. if we had our shit together we would welcome you into the warm embrace of our radical ideology#but in the meantime if you all are interested in free books to start managing your own recovery with or without a therapist#let us know#call it an interest check#we love piracy and we especially love doing it for our friends#we have podcast recs and links to some really foundational CPTSD recovery pieces too#we can maybe tell you what approaches to check out depending on what you need because that's hard to know without a lot of research#personality disorders aren't actually clearcut definitions so much as they are expressions of trauma that have been unnecessarily categoriz#they are prescriptive and serve power rather than the person who has them and fail to take the actual mechanics of trauma into account#the DSM-V would shrink to thirty pages if it reflected the growing understanding of CPTSD and maybe therapy would actually work#but in the meantime we have ourselves and we have each other#and we have free books#idk just let us know

Wanted to say in general morpho pdfs are not very difficult to find, i only had to really hunt down one of em...i recommend em all so munch

debating making a website so that i can fully customize and decentralize my online existence from the big social media/hosting sites but also. ughhhh thatd be so much work to learn html and css to get it up to the standard i want. a friend made theirs in a year and they do not have a 1 big hobby that absorbs all their time like i do, and what i want is more complex than that. at least i have a minor background in CS but ughhhhhhhh

#somehow sent an earlier version of a document to my supervisor instead of the final one#so of course got feedback with all this stuff I missed and stuff#a lot of which I did not miss! it was right in my final version that you inexplicably didn't get?????#for simplicity I told her I must have forgotten to save the final version but I don't think that's true!#I think I have been betrayed by word and/or dropbox!!!#bc it said on there the last time saved was right before I sent it to her#so then riddle me this: how were NONE of the changes I made today in the version that she got#WHAT DID I DO TO DESERVE THIS I just know the whole time she was reviewing it she just thought I was an idiot#and probably still does#the worst thing is that could totally sound like me making up an excuse bc I didn't want to admit that I had just missed a bunch of stuff#BUT IT'S TRUE#and I don't even know how to prevent it from happening again#smh maybe I'll start emailing each document to myself before I send it to anyone else#AHHHHHH I feel like a lot of my recent assignments have kind of been flops for various unrelated reasons but stacked up it's not a good loo

Microsoft can tell me to buy more storage all they fucking like but at the end of the day i didn't ask them to back everything up on my microsoft account (and honestly i would prefer it if they didn't. why can they just do that??), and also usb sticks exist so they can honestly and with all due respect (which is none) lick my balls

Oh, I've also just realised I've lost my drafts and that bit of my inbox and my messages.
There goes all the spicy submissions I still needed to write about, and all the treats kutuals have sent me in the past.
(although I thought this might happen so I backed up my blog a couple of weeks back, I just don't know know what to do with a 25Gb zip fille!)

So frustrating
It is so much easier to organize stuff on computer
But editing is easier and faster on the phone
Even if you try to use folders on phone some apps won't even show them and make you scroll through gallery instead anyway??
But for some fucking reason my gaming PC takes forever to launch an editor and even with hotkeys it is chunkier and slower not to mention I have to sit on the computer while phone editing I can do it anywhere
