Hello! Thank you so much for your time and content you bring into this confusing world.
I’m currently on the starting road to creating a canon-divergent fanfiction but noticed I have trouble with pacing and sentence structure. I don’t have a clear grasp on when to slow down and sit within the scene(s) the characters are in or when to go on and move on to the next scene of the story.
As well as chapter structuring and to keep it consistent at a comfortable pace yet keeping the story going.
I am at the very beginning of my write journey and as fun and exciting it entails, it’s also scary, intimidating, and feels like I’m doing everything wrong despite just pushing through. Any advice or suggestions is so so SO much appreciated, thank you once again for your time <3

Crafting Captivating Scenes and Chapter Structure: A Writer's Guide
I'd absolutely love to help you on your journey, congratulations and I wish you the best on your writer journey to create the book of your dreams. If you ever need anymore help just contact me in my inbox!
(If you'd like me to create a scene template for you to use and fill-out. Please let me know. I'd gladly create one for you.)
Today, I want to dive into the art of structuring scenes and chapters in a novel. As we all know, a well-structured story keeps readers hooked from start to finish. So, let's unravel the secrets behind creating compelling scenes and crafting an engaging chapter structure.
Scene Structure:
When it comes to structuring scenes, it's all about capturing the reader's attention and propelling the story forward. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you master this crucial aspect of storytelling:
Establish the Purpose: Every scene should have a clear purpose, such as advancing the plot, revealing character traits, or building tension. Determine what you want to achieve before diving in.
Set the Stage: Transport your readers into the scene by painting vivid descriptions. Engage their senses and create a strong atmosphere to make them feel like they're right there with your characters.
Introduce Conflict: Conflict is the fuel that drives any story. Whether it's an internal struggle or external obstacles, inject tension to keep the readers on their toes. Conflict adds depth and makes scenes memorable.
Build Momentum: Keep the pacing in mind. Start with a strong hook and gradually intensify the scene's stakes. Balance action, dialogue, and introspection to maintain a dynamic flow.
Climax and Resolution: Every scene should have a satisfying resolution that leaves the reader eager to turn the page. It could be a revelation, a new dilemma, or a cliffhanger. End with impact!
Chapter Structure:
Now, let's focus on the structure of your chapters. Chapters act as mini-arcs within your novel, creating a rhythm that keeps readers engrossed. Here are some tips to help you craft an effective chapter structure:
Determine Chapter Length: There's no strict rule, but shorter chapters often create a sense of urgency, while longer chapters allow for deeper exploration. Find a balance that suits your story's pacing and style.
Establish a Theme or Goal: Each chapter should contribute to the overall story arc. Decide on a specific theme, goal, or event that drives the chapter's purpose and ties it to the larger narrative.
Vary Intensity and Tone: Just like scenes, chapters should have their own rise and fall of tension. Alternate between intense action, quieter moments for reflection, or even comic relief to maintain interest.
End with a Hook: Leave your readers wanting more by ending each chapter with a compelling hook. It could be a revelation, a question, or a surprising twist that propels them into the next chapter.
Transition Smoothly: Ensure that your chapters flow seamlessly. Use transitional elements like time jumps, shifts in perspective, or recurring motifs to link chapters together cohesively.
Congratulations! By mastering the art of structuring scenes and chapters, you're well on your way to crafting a captivating novel. Remember, scene structure drives the microcosm of your story, while chapter structure shapes the macrocosm. Experiment, find your style, and above all, let your creativity soar!
Happy writing, and may your scenes be compelling and your chapters unputdownable!

Hey question, ur username is texturepak so can u recommend some texture packs that aren’t just minecraft but HD? Im having trouble finding some, and im not very fond of the HD look :/
absolutely !! i love all different resource packs uwu
my go-to place is resourcepack.net because they have lots of different categories, here’s a link to their cartoon packs! a majority of what people make these days are “ultra hd 4k real life” packs which is bleh, but there’s lots of other websites that gather packs together as well!
i personally like smoother packs, but right now i’m actually using one called default improved that makes everything look rustic-ish (??) i like to say it gives everything a 5 o’ clock shadow lol
#resource packs#hell yeah i love talking abt this kind of stuff#also can someone link to that one scenecraft pack that someone on here was making????#i fell in love with that one#ze-smol-snek

Exit Review: Be Melodramatic

Synopsis
This is the ensemble workplace comedy about a group of friends in the entertainment industry who all move in together after one of them suffers a personal tragedy and becomes severely depressed.
Im Jin Joo is an aspiring drama writer with zero filter, trying to get her first project onto the screen after years of struggling as an assistant writer. She becomes involved with an equally idiosyncratic, successful television director looking for his next hit.
Lee Eun Jung is a documentarian who became an overnight success with her first documentary. However, after the tragic death of her boyfriend, she gives away all her money and enters a two year depression. In order to cope she begins to hallucinate her late boyfriend while she embarks on a new documentary project.
Hwang Han Joo handles marketing for a production company, a job which requires a great deal of running around begging actors and directors to honor their product placement agreements, She is also a single mother with a shitty ex who became a popular television personality after they broke up. She forms a friendship with a new member of her team, a soft hearted young man who is entangled in a toxic relationship.
Review
Story: As is often the case with ensemble comedies, this isn't a terribly plotty drama. However, where it excels is in scenecraft and dialogue. This is one of those wonderful dramas that you regret having to experience though subtitles, because you know you're missing out on some wonderfully witty jokes by virtue of not being a native Korean speaker. But that's not to say this drama is just nonstop gags (although it is very, very funny). It's equally capable of giving us really poignant character moments, some of which brought tears to my eyes. This drama has a unique point of view and interesting things to say about women's lives, relationships, about love and about grief.
There were one or two minor story missteps, in my opinion. And one pretty major one (and yes, if you've seen it I am talking about the resolution--or lack there of--of that relationship, yikes). But none of it was enough to take away from my overall enjoyment, and for the most part I was satisfied with how everyone ended up.
Acting: I don't have a ton to say about the acting except that this group of people is wildly talented and they play off of each other so well. The comedic timing alone is fantastic. I cackled while watching this drama. I would never have pegged Chun Woo Hee and Ahn Jae Hong as making such a cute and effective screen couple, but they are a wonderfully well matched pair of weirdos.
My favorite performance of the drama goes to Jeon Yeo Bin, who has only had a couple minor drama roles before this, but absolutely owns the role of the deadpan, sarcastic documentarian carrying around a deep emotional wound. She carries off most of the emotional heavy lifting in the drama and makes it look effortless. I am dying to see what she does next. She is lead role material and I will absolutely check out her next project, even if it's only half as good as this one. (Maybe something with Son Seok Koo? Pretty pretty please?)
Production: The production of this drama is exactly what it needs to be. It's bouncy and light with a lot of little visual gags. I especially liked when the drama got more and more meta toward the end of the run (as you would expect it to do, given it's a drama about making a drama). The way they incorporated PPL with a nudge and a wink was both some of the most shameless and most tasteful PPL I've seen in a drama.
Feels: It took me a couple weeks to get on the Be Melodramatic train. It wasn't on my radar as something I needed to see, and if my roommate hadn't started watching and telling me about how good it was I probably would have continued to sleep on this one. I knew it was something special because my roommate, who typically will not watch slice-of-life dramas, was in love with it and had me laughing with her just recounting things that happened in the drama. When I did start watching it I finished 6 episodes in a day and I knew that I had found one if 2019's best.
Honestly, aside from one character arc misstep, which I mentioned above and could go into but it would count as spoilers, I have basically no complaints about this drama. It just made me feel good to watch it, it was also hugely relatable to me as a writer and as a working adult. I never wanted it to end.
Would I recommend Be Melodramatic? Absolutely, yes. Go watch this drama. Watch it now.
8.5/10

I have a question Eric, Which personality do you prefer Jesse to have, I know it's optional but which do you like the most :D
Oh man this is a fun question. See, when I’m writing MCSM or working with my other writers and narrative designers I have to kind of hold all these different versions of Jesse in my head to account for all the different ways people could view Jesse and how they want to play him/her. At Telltale we refer to these different playstyles as “rails” and, honestly, I kind of love all of them for different reasons.
There’s lots of smaller variants, but in my opinion it boils down to:
“World’s Greatest!” - This is the Jesse who believes she’s the greatest hero who ever lived. Cocky and super sure of herself, this Jesse sometimes falls on her face as her friends facepalm hard in the background, but she’ll always come through.
“Peacekeeper/Justice Enforcer.” - The purest manifestation of how much Jesse cares about her friends, this is the Jesse who tries to keep the peace and protect the people she cares about above all else. Also has a strong sense of justice and hates bullies.
“Prankster” - Even the end of the world approaching can’t get this Jesse down. This is the rail where you see most of Jesse’s terrible jokes and puns as she tries to keep the mood of the group light.
What’s cool about how we do rails at Telltale is that we try not to lock people into one particular rail as, most times, it’s more fun to shift and change as the story goes on - You might play prankster Jesse in one scene, but then something bad happens and it’s time to switch to Justice Enforcer.
Also if you’re curious, working out these rails this is a huge part of what the Narrative Designers do. The Narrative Designer does a lot of the heavy lifting to map out the blueprint for the story - figuring out the different paths for the player to take, how different people might approach different scenes - and then we writers work with them to make sure it’s all coming through in the dialogue, scenecraft, etc.

FIRST OFF I'm hoping finals went okay / are going okay? I miss my twinnie mun sm, they left me all alone with our book baby why ;n; (j/k its okay). I just sit here wiggling my legs waiting like an impatient child for more activity because every post from them is a gift, even when it's writing I can't read that makes me worry or silly little things.
But also the worldbuilding and headcanon ones are amazing, I've mentioned their talent with scenecrafting before and those just end up another beautiful expression of their wonderful and detailed imagination, I mean wow. Also every rp post has equal amounts of care, like thoughts and body language are intricate and really get across Robin's tediousness even in the overall feel of every post? good stuff.
I got distracted with writing but alSO, Kosame was another one of my original followers and was so very very encouraging. Like how uplifting is it to hear things from another person who has the same muse that you're starting off okay? And also seeing someone else older in a really young fandom haha. How bad did I or does anyone need that when starting off all insecure and stuff, and they continue to be so supportive, I'm lov my Kosame.
They can be so hard on themself and I hope they know how wonderful they really are. In writing and art, and I can tell they're super smart with some of the references we can play off each other too. A kind and creative and hard working good, good bean who deserves the best and to achieve everything they want and especially some inner peace, I think. Absolute doll A+, I cry.
