Loads of national selections involve juries now. I'm finding it interesting how different countries give different amounts of power to the juries though.

Finland is the smallest I've seen with 25% jury power. I think Sweden still does 50/50. Some other country (can't remember which now. Ireland? Dunno) did 40/60.

Edit: Nope not Ireland, they split their results three ways between international jury, national jury and televotes.

Last year Czechia was determined by online vote which anyone in the world could just go and vote for! Seemed so strange to me but fun.

I'm assuming the point of international influence is to avoid picking something which only "works" in your home country and won't be successful with international audiences.

I'd never even heard of UMK before last year's Eurovision and was yesterday years old when I found out it involves international juries - that is Wild to me, why in the fuck does anyone outside of Finland have a say in who they send to Eurovision? That feels like a conflict of interest no?
