“I know,” Rook repeated and wished he’d choked before the truth followed. “I just always thought it would be me. That’s what I was here for.” Then the words were out and he couldn’t stop, despite the horror stricken pallor that overtook Emmrich’s face. “Everybody has their thing, right?"

You might have already gotten this before, but Sharp Edges Kate and Anthony negotiated three kids. How does he react to their surprise fourth baby? How does she react?

I guess this applies to all my modern Kanthonys (or at least the ones who have kids). I tend not to have a lot of headcanons about their kids because it's just not a part of their life I write about, but I always think it's hilarious in fics when Kate had an IUD or some other means of preventing pregnancy after the third, and Anthony is SO smug about "beating" it.

I think Anthony is pretty much on board with having as many kids (i.e. as much of Kate in the world) as she'll allow. Sharp Edges Anthony wanted four to begin with, so he's thrilled, especially since he thought they were done and missed having a baby to dote on. Of course, he's also supportive of Kate's concerns and feeling like they've been "lucky" to have successful pregnancies so far - there's always that anxiety every time that there could be complications.

Kate is torn between thinking "fuck I'm too old for this" and also sort of missing their kids being little. It doesn't take her long to warm up to the idea, and she tries to trust Anthony when he says everything will be okay. They've already gotten through so much; they'll get through this, too.

Of course, they're lucky to have a huge, wildly energetic family that can take care of the baby when Kate is exhausted and needs a moment of peace. I also imagine a lot of Anthony complaining that his back didn't used to hurt this much.

I would die to see the Aunties at some other event in the future (their engagement party? Someone else’s party) when they realise the dim witted surgeon named Dave is now this guy named Anthony who is not a surgeon but still engaged to Kathani? lol please, if you could I would love it so much

Lol! I'll put it on the list. Kate would 100% have totally forgotten she did that and then be like "oh, uh...David is his middle name? He goes by different names professionally and personally. Is he still a surgeon? Mmmmmm....he actually took over his family's company. He was also really shy the first time you met him. He'll talk more this time."

Hey, hope you're good. I have a question about the Virgin Anthony AU. Like, how much of a virgin is he? If that makes sense, ha. Like, before his father died and he became intentional about it, no kind of sex with another person at all? Oral? Failed attempts?

Good question. I could see him having a few attempts before he was 18. Some hand stuff and oral, but nothing really all that earth-shattering. Maybe after his father died, he went home with someone trying to drown out his grief, but he just couldn't really handle being touched and he freaked out a bit. And after that it just became easier not to even come close.

Who do you reckon is the most jealous Anthony you've written?

My immediate thought was Sharp Edges Anthony. That's a poisonous jealousy. Not only is Kate in a serious relationship, but he had a chance with her first and he blew it. And not only that, but he's jealous of his own brother. He hates himself for hating the person he loves more than anyone, and he doesn't even have the option not to be around them. And all that time, Ben has no idea.

getting emotional over footage of an amateur scuba diver interacting with a coelacanth. they are hunted by large deepwater predators, and here comes a large creature bearing the brightest lights it's ever seen, making strange noises, but it does not shy away. it hovers, calmly, as the diver reaches out and trails a hand down its back. im strongly against the anthropomorphizing of real life animals but the stupid emotional part of me loudly insists this is because it recognizes us, the alternating movements of its four paired limbs matching the diver's four paired limbs, & it is thinking, "hello, cousins, we missed you these 66 million years, it's so good to see you again. welcome back, welcome home."
