♕ ( n/a / 27 / cis woman / she, her, hers ) — did you see HALSTON SAGE wandering around the island today? they kind of look like HALSTON SAGE from certain angles? i heard around town that the COPY EDITOR is CHARMING, and DRIVEN, but also TEMPERAMENTAL, and OPINIONATED. people say that they remind them of FLUFFY PENS, YAPPY LITTLE DOGS, and PILES OF EMPTY STARBUCKS CUPS, and YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN by BILLIE EILISH is definitely their theme song. they seem like a nice enough person, but we all know how hard it is to keep a pristine reputation in a small town. in the gated community of kings haven, born and raised––janie did not spend most of her days on the playground ( pit stains ?? as if !! ). she spent most of her childhood running around her parent’s estate with her twin brother and avoiding etiquette lessons and her french tutor underneath the overgrown willow tree next to their tennis courts, her battered copy of anne of green gables close nestled in her lap.

her parents are loaded thanks to her mother’s side of the family. her great-great-great-grandfather was a successful started a vineyard from his own pocket of generational wealth that dates back to the industrial boom. the family business eventually branched out into california, spain, and italy as its success grew. now, they really don’t do much other than sit on the board and pretend they have opinions that are more important than their hired experts.

her dad married into her mother’s money, and it’s a bamford family tradition that the eldest son, or the husband of the eldest daughter if there isn’t a son, fills his predecessor’s seat on the board. ergo: her dad is on the board, and her mom goes to the country club and shops obsessively. 

janie, however, thinks this is bullshit.

her twin, josh, does not.

janie is guaranteed a large inheritance regardless (( so long as she smiles pretty for the cameras and marries a man her parents approve of )), but janie hasn't ever really envision being the blanche, even though she is devastating beautiful. she’s also the actual worst.

anyway, she went to columbia for a degree in english, and she writes fervently with her sparkly pink gel pen and scented lavender stationary because she’s a woman on a mission !! her dream is to write a novel that would reduce virginia woolf into tears ( in a good way, duh !! )

for now, she’s a freelance copy editor and writing whenever she has spare time between editing boring tech company blurbs and avoiding her mother’s calls.

janie has struggled with her dyscalculia her academic career. she was convinced ( and so were all her teachers ) that she was just born stupid, and there wasn’t anything that she could do about it, so she really leaned into the ditzy, too-cool-for-school, popular girl trope in high school because that was easier than admitting she couldn’t even comprehend the numbers on her worksheets, let alone solve the problems.

she was a cheerleader™ all throughout junior high, high school, and college.

she was that person who talked a million miles an hour until you begrudgingly agreed to go to the senior sunrise pancake breakfast.

but she can definitely also be a giant brat and a pain in the ass when she doesn’t get her way bc she was mcfreakin’ spoiled her entire life.

driven as hell, and she is at her most brutal when she perceives something or someone as an obstacle to getting what she wants.

she’s always up for a good time literally anytime of the day. she loves parties bc she loves people !! and talking !! and mixed drinks !!  

she’s really into fashion and cosmetics.

can definitely be a bit of a label whore.

she has two little rat dogs she loves more than anyone in the world. one is a shichon named gilbert and the other is a cavapom named buffy.

she has literally no middle ground. she is either the most delightful person you'll ever meet or the worst person you'll ever meet depending on if you cross her ( or if she thinks you crossed her lmao ). this switch can also happen on a dime, so i'm sorry for her in advance.
