Blood Relatives should avoid taking case of blood relatives
Shubham Kumar & Subhash Kumar
In Re. Contempt Application (Cr.) 14 & 15 of 2022
Before Allahabad High Court
The Bench comprising Hon’ble Mr. Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh J and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajendra Kumar IV J closed on 12.10.2023 the proceedings initiated by the Additional Principal Judge Family Court Aligarh-1, as the apology tendered by the contemnors were not found to be genuine and hearing them further would waste the time of the meaty litigants.
Facts giving rise to Contempt Petition
Allegation against the Litigant Subhash Kumar is that he misbehaved with the Additional Principal Judge Family Court on 09.05.2022 while hearing of another case was going on. As his case was not called off, he started shouting when he was asked to wait he continued misbehaving with the Court giving rise to Contempt proceedings.
Allegation against the Advocate son is that he continued unruly and loud behavior and threatened the court by seeking transfer of proceedings. On being required to act in a civilized manner, he refused to abide by the advice.
Shubham Kumar- Advocate shouted saying he is a practitioner of the Allahabad High Court and he knows how to deal with petty courts & threatened to lodge a complaint against the Presiding Officer.
During hearing of the contempt proceedings Allahabad High Court asked the contemnors Father & Son are they seeking forgiveness?
Both answered yes.
When asked for what?
They answered “humney jo kara nahi”
Litigant-father Subhash Kumar even denied the occurrence.
Subhash Kumar in the post lunch session filed an application on 09.05.2022 @3pm for hearing of his case & @ 3.30pm his advocate son filed another application for hearing of his case. This is mentioned on the order sheet of their case by the Additional Principal Judge.
Observation of the Court
Any grievance that any litigant or lawyer may have may be addressed in due course. Any order that may be passed by a court to which any lawyer or litigant may have a grievance may be addressed by filing appropriate application or appeal or by making appropriate mention at the appropriate time.
What is more disastrous is that a son (lawyer) appearing for his father (litigant) that too in a matrimonial case with his mother. It cannot be for Courts to advise lawyers to choose their clients. It has always been left to the wisdom of the learned members of the bar.
The basic learning that any member of the bar imbibes at the initial years of practice is to tell him to not appear for his blood relatives. However, this wisdom and nuance has not touched Subham Kumar by a mile. He not only took up the matter of his father but that too against his mother, by his act, he became a party to the dispute itself.
It indeed would be sad if statutory law were to provide for restrains on who’s brief to take and who’s not. Yet, the father - son duo before us would appear to take no less. Thats the tragic part of this case.
We find that the present case is not a case that the Court may have the luxury to deal with, in the present state of its overburdened board.
To voice our opinion differently, we may note that in a matter such as this where the lawyer and the litigant both claimed (though not convincingly), utmost regard for the Court but their behavior and conduct is found wholly unacceptable and objectionable, we say, enough time has been wasted over those who are already wasted.
We do not have time to take our gaze away from the cause of justice and to devote the same to punish the contemnors as per the rules of law.
Our time would be better utilized and is needed to address the cry for justice by genuine litigants. It does not merit to be wasted on the jesters and/or deviant lawyer and litigant that these contemnors are. They are far too less deserving of that. Thus, such contemnors may sometimes waste Courts' time yet, they may be allowed to get away, in the interest of the other, genuine litigants and meaty matters.
We also make it clear that
Order
We refused to exercise our jurisdiction and have not absolved either Subhash Kumar and Shubham Kumar of their conduct.
It is only on account of wastage of time that we seek to prevent, we choose not to give them any further audience. They are thoroughly undeserving of that. Thus consigned.
Seema Bhatnagar

[ad_1] All eyes will be on Riyan Parag in Guwahati. (PC: Rajasthan Royals) Rajasthan Royals vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Barsapara Cricket Stadium- 7:30 PM What to expect An intense affair awaits. Both teams have lost their first games of the season, and they’ll be eager to secure two points from this clash. The spotlight will be on the battle between RR’s batters and KKR’s spinners. In their previous outing, RR’s bowlers leaked runs, leaving the batters with too much to chase despite their valiant efforts. Bowling remains RR’s weaker suit, and they must tighten up to avoid another high-scoring setback. This is where Riyan Parag’s role as captain becomes important. He is young, but he knows the conditions in Barsapara better than anyone else. RR’s batters have shown that they can play spin well. So, their performance against KKR’s spinners could well define the game. Jofra Archer and the rest of RR’s bowling unit need to bounce back from the pounding that they took in the last game. Meanwhile, KKR’s batting lineup, despite a mini-collapse against RCB, has enough firepower to trouble any attack. It promises to be an intense encounter with two crucial points up for grabs. Key Battle The battle between Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine against Riyan Parag, Sanju Samson, and Dhruv Jurel promises to be a fascinating contest. Apart from Shimron Hetmyer, the rest of RR’s top six are proficient against spin. If they can score freely against KKR’s spin duo, handling the rest of the bowling attack could become much easier. RR Likely XI Mahesh Theekshana looked wayward in the last game, and so did Jofra Archer, but both are likely to retain their places. Wanindu Hasaranga could be drafted into the team, depending on the conditions. Kumar Kartikeya is another enticing option. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag (c), Nitish Rana, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Shubham Dubey, Jofra Archer, Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande, Sandeep Sharma, Fazalhaq Farooqi. Impact sub- Sanju Samson. KKR Likely XI After a disappointing outing, KKR could bring in Anrich Nortje for this game, replacing Spencer Johnson. Apart from that, no other changes are expected in the playing XI. Quinton de Kock (wk), Sunil Narine, Ajinkya Rahane (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, Harshit Rana, Spencer Johnson/Anrich Nortje, Varun Chakaravarthy. Impact sub- Vaibhav Arora. Pitch and Weather With this being the first game of the season at this venue, how the pitch will play is anyone’s guess. Historically, it has been a high-scoring ground where batters enjoy their time in the middle. Bowlers are unlikely to get much assistance. The chances of rain playing spoilsport remain low at four percent. The post A trial by spin awaits RR’s batting unit appeared first on Sports News Portal | Latest Sports Articles | Revsports. Every year, thousands of aspirants dream of cracking the UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE), but only a few make it to the final list. The journey of IAS toppers is filled with valuable lessons, perseverance, and strategies that can inspire and guide other aspirants. Mistake Avoidance: Lessons on what to avoid during your own preparation journey.
Key Lessons from the Success Stories of IAS Toppers

Lesson: Keep a copy of the syllabus handy and use it as your guiding framework for preparation.
3. Choose Your Optional Wisely
The optional subject plays a critical role in scoring well in the Mains exam:
Gaurav Agarwal (AIR 1, 2013): Gaurav, an IIT graduate, chose Economics as his optional, leveraging his strengths and interest in the subject.
Lesson: Choose an optional subject based on interest, background, and availability of resources.
4. Consistency is More Important Than Hours
Toppers often stress the need for consistency in preparation:
Tina Dabi (AIR 1, 2015): Tina maintained a disciplined routine, studying regularly for 6-8 hours while balancing breaks and leisure time.
Lesson: Avoid burnout by setting a daily study routine that is consistent and sustainable.
5. Effective Note-Making
Smart note-making helps in quick revisions and retention:
Akshat Jain (AIR 2, 2018): Akshat made concise notes for every subject, focusing on keywords, mind maps, and current affairs integration.
Lesson: Develop a personalized note-making system that works for you.
6. Stay Updated with Current Affairs
Toppers integrate current affairs into their answers effectively:
Pradeep Singh (AIR 1, 2019): Pradeep dedicated 1-2 hours daily to newspapers, magazines, and government reports like PIB and Yojana.
Lesson: Make current affairs a daily habit and connect it to static topics in the syllabus.
7. Write and Practice Answer Writing
Answer writing is the backbone of Mains preparation:
Artika Shukla (AIR 4, 2015): Artika practiced answer writing regularly, focusing on time management, structure, and presentation.
Lesson: Join a test series and practice writing answers under exam conditions to improve your speed and quality.
8. Take Mock Tests Seriously
Mock tests help identify strengths and weaknesses:
Shubham Kumar (AIR 1, 2020): Shubham attempted multiple mock tests for both Prelims and Mains, analyzing his mistakes and improving weak areas.
Lesson: Simulate exam conditions by taking mock tests and learn from your mistakes.
9. Balance Between Study and Mental Health
Maintaining mental and physical well-being is crucial for long-term preparation:
Shruti Sharma (AIR 1, 2021): Shruti balanced her studies with meditation, exercise, and regular breaks to avoid stress and stay focused.
Lesson: Prioritize physical fitness and mental health to maintain productivity.
10. Learn from Failures and Persevere
Many toppers did not succeed on their first attempt but used failure as a stepping stone:
Nandini K R (AIR 1, 2016): Nandini failed in her first attempt but learned from her mistakes and came back stronger.
Lesson: Treat failures as learning opportunities and never give up.
Common Themes Across All Success Stories
Self-Belief: Toppers believe in their abilities and stay motivated despite challenges.
Discipline and Hard Work: Consistent efforts and a disciplined approach are key.
Smart Work: Toppers focus on quality over quantity, using strategic approaches like note-making, mock tests, and time management.
Personalized Strategy: Each topper follows a plan that works for them, based on their strengths and weaknesses.
The success stories of IAS toppers serve as a reminder that with determination, consistency, and smart preparation, anyone can achieve their dream of becoming a civil servant. The key is to learn from their journeys, adapt their strategies to your needs, and remain focused on your goal.
Your preparation journey may be unique, but the lessons from these success stories will guide you towards success. Keep working hard, stay positive, and believe in yourself—your success story could be the next one to inspire future aspirants!

IPL 2024: SRH, RR Face-Off To Seal Final Date Against Kolkata Knight Riders
Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will lock horns against Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Qualifier 2 match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have already reached the final of the 17th season of the IPL, and whichever franchise wins today's match will lock horns against the Kolkata-based franchise at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday.
The Hyderabad-based franchise is in their top form in the IPL 2024 and etched their name on the record book by breaching the highest team total in the IPL three times this season. Earlier, it was Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) 263/5 in the 2013 season which held the landmark of the highest team total in the history of the IPL.
With the likes of Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi in the top batting order, SRH have successfully entered the T20 tournament with an aggressive approach. They are the only side to score 100 or more runs in the powerplay this season.
The Rajasthan-based franchise started the season on a good note and kept a four-match winning streak two times in the tournament. However, as time passed and we came into the second half of the IPL 2024, the Royals started to maintain their consistency. In May, RR's first win came in the Eliminator round when they beat RCB to book their place in the Qualifier 2 match.
The Royals don't have a destructive batting lineup as compared to the Sunrisers but they have a fiery bowling attack with the likes of Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, Nandre Burger, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
The Qualifier 2 match will be an interesting clash as the best bowling attack will take on a destructive batting lineup to book their place in the final match of the IPL 2024.
Hyderabad finished the league stage of the T20 tournament in second place with 17 points and a net run rate of +0.414 after winning 8 of 14 matches. While the Rajasthan concluded their league matches in third place with 17 points and a net run rate of +0.273 after winning 8 of 14 matches.
The Royals are coming into today's match after beating RCB by four wickets in the Eliminator round of the IPL
2024. On the other hand, SRH conceded an 8-wicket loss against KKR in the Qualifier 1 match of the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals Squad: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Sanju Samson (Wk/C), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Rovman Powell, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shimron Hetmyer, Nandre Burger, Shubham Dubey, Tanush Kotian, Donovan Ferreira, Navdeep Saini, Keshav Maharaj, Kuldeep Sen, Abid Mushtaq, Kunal Singh Rathore.
Sunrisers Hyderabad Squad: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Reddy, Heinrich Klaasen (Wk), Abdul Samad, Shahbaz Ahmed, Pat Cummins (C), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, T Natarajan, Sanvir Singh, Umran Malik, Glenn Phillips, Washington Sundar, Jaydev Unadkat, Mayank Agarwal, Aiden Markram, Anmolpreet Singh, Upendra Yadav, Mayank Markande, Jhatavedh Subramanyan, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Marco Jansen, Akash Maharaj Singh.

[ad_1] Ishan celebrating his hundred in front of a jam packed Hyderabad stadium. (PC: BCCI) On a flat pitch in Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals’ decision to bowl first backfired as Ishan Kishan’s sensational 106, Travis Head’s blistering 67 and valuable cameos from Nitish Kumar Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to an imposing 286/6. The total proved more than enough, as SRH clinched an authoritative 44-run victory in what was a high-scoring encounter. By the halfway mark, the outcome seemed inevitable. Chasing the highest total in the IPL history was always going to be a monumental task for RR’s relatively inexperienced batting line-up. Despite a valiant fight, the target was simply out of reach. After losing three early wickets in the Powerplay, RR found hope through a gritty 111-run stand between Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70). However, the required run rate kept climbing, never quite within their grasp. With the game slipping away, Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey made the most of their time in the middle at the end. Simarjeet Singh set the tone early for SRH with two crucial wickets in one over, while Harshal Patel struck at key moments in the middle and at the death. Mohammed Shami and Adam Zampa chipped in with a wicket each to cap off a bowling performance for SRH that did the job. With the bat, SRH picked up right where they left off last season, sticking to their tried-and-tested slam-bang approach that served them well. Given the opportunity to bat first, Head and Abhishek Sharma provided a blistering start. Abhishek was the early aggressor, with all five of his boundaries coming cleanly off the middle of the bat. Ironically, the one shot he mistimed cost him his wicket — a half-tracker from Maheesh Theekshana that hit the lower part of the bat. Despite Abhishek’s early departure, the onslaught continued unabated. What followed was sheer carnage as Head and Kishan ripped through the RR bowling attack, smashing 94 runs inside the Powerplay and leaving their opponents stunned. Fazalhaq Farooqi struggled to find his rhythm in his opening spell, while Theekshana managed to get some grip with his off-breaks but lacked consistency. Erring either too short or too full, he made it easy for the batters to hit through the line and pierce the off-side. By the end of the Powerplay, SRH had already set the tone for another dominant performance. They launched a relentless assault on the RR bowlers. Kishan looked to be in complete control from the outset, with precise footwork against both pace and spin. He picked up lengths early and carefully chose his scoring areas. While Head played a few risky shots, Kishan was near flawless. Inside-out drives, slogs, pulls, switch hits — he played all of them. The two shots he hammered over covers against Jofra Archer stood out as something special. He peppered the field all around the ground, making life miserable for the bowlers. It was clear that the 26-year-old came in with a set plan, and he executed it to perfection, bringing up his maiden IPL century in style. Even after Head departed, Kishan kept his foot firmly on the pedal, and the batters who followed continued the carnage. Reddy smashed a quickfire 30 off just 15 balls, while Klaasen blazed his way to 34 off 14 deliveries at a staggering strike rate of 242.86. On a surface tailor-made for batting, the SRH batters thoroughly enjoyed their time in the middle. Archer had a forgettable night, conceding 76 runs in his four-over spell without taking a wicket. Tushar Deshpande was the best among all RR bowlers with three wickets. The fielders provided little support to the bowlers, with numerous misfields and dropped catches.
