i am, thank you! and i dont usually, in the beginning - it just depends if i get attached to a sim i'm playing with but even then it's not usually too deep!

I’m curious how other simmers handle same sex couples having children. Specifically, what method do you typically use?

I’ve always used the in-game option in cas to have one of them able to carry and one able to impregnate. I know we have science baby now but in my escapist reality sims of the same sex try for baby just like sims of opposite sex.

I just thought of a good storyline involving science babies and lesbians. For a more realistic touch they have a best guy friend and he is their donor for all their children. It’s not original at all cause plenty of lesbians have that set up (or for some it’s a kind and giving brother) but it would get me to use a feature I often overlook.

Reappearing in the kitchens, the being scurried to the girl sitting on the corner of the table with a prefect’s letter in her hand.

“Miss, Cooby brought it! Here, Miss!” Elf handed the vial to the girl and looked up at her, patiently waiting for her to take it from his hands.

“Ah, thank you, Cooby!” She replied, taking the potion from the elf and tucking it in the inner pocket of her robes.

A house elf broke into a sheepish smile, “Cooby is happy to assist Miss. Miss is always kind to Cooby.”

“Because we are friends, right?” the girl said, scribbling a message on the back of the prefect's letter, using a piece of charcoal.

By the time William comes back from the Owlery, the vial of interest is already gone. Questioning his loyal first and second-year Slytherins yields no results. William already knew that he won't be able to use the potion to his advantage, but it is nice to get a confirmation: not that long after, a now-familiar owl drops a letter onto his head without as much as a warning.

"This owl shares its manners with its master," he grumbles.

Will is a bit surprised that the message is written in charcoal. Oh no, poor student, they must not have enough money for a quill that lasts more than a couple of letters! Poor thing, perhaps Will can look past the rudene— huh? Annoying Bastard?! Hmpf!

*Minor Spoilers* I really loved this version of Aziraphale and Crowley. In this AU, they had known each other in culinary school many years ago and one night shared a kiss that neither of them could fully forget. I love how we meet them in the future, as more than acquaintances but not close enough to know anything about each other's personal lives. But it's written all over them how much they both want to reconnect.

The tension between them simmers slowly as they begin to spend more time together. I absolutely adore food AUs because it allows them to be experts and intellectual equals, which I appreciate in a Human AU. It's important to me that they can keep pace with each other! When emotions finally reach a boiling point, they must be brave and honest about their desires. Then, they need to put in the effort to make it a reality. I would love to spend more time in this specific AU. I want to follow them as they visit new restaurants, sample whiskies, and cook together. I want to see how they manage their schedules and integrate into each other's lives now. The pacing was excellent, and it ends on a very satisfying note, but I can't help feeling greedy with this one. I want an extra helping.

Mostly safe in public, the sex is not too explicit and they're shorter scenes, so you could get away with it. But I think it makes a perfect binge read if you can settle in and read it in one go.

@weirdbabs ive considered that! it feels a bit too much of a go-to scenario, though. Whenever I think about a story or a character, I do it in rounds of three. Sometimes four.

1st is “what is the logical/expecte/likely route to expect this to go in”

2nd is “what is a subversion or alternate, or inverse of that”

3rd is “what is the next pass After the obvious inverse, what lies outside of that dichotomy”

And 4th is a revision and refinement of 3.

This process helps me see things as they really are, rather than what would be expected of them or expected of a subversion of them. I take my writing very seriously, and thoroughness and experimentation are essential! I find it helps to separate my everyday thoughts, and then my thoughts about the way I think. My third thoughts watch the world and think all by themselves. And so on and so forth.

All of that to say, would max care to go out?? If class as a theme is introduced, I would probably use johnny as a vehicle to introduce it than have max initiate that on his own. Esp since the center of the story is the character study conflict romance. max would be nonchalant about it, maybe a little wistful. And Isabel is usually very lax and jokey, she’s just a strategy action whiz with a quick reaction time. She isn’t standoffish or paranoid, as it’s important to keep a rational and level head as a knight! The johnny incident is a major outlier. In her defense, she left Max’s room for 8 minutes, a relatively short period of time, and when she came back there was a burglar in her best friend/future fiancee/the next kings room. Fuck it, ill give Johnny a little pickpocket knife for fun. A sad 4 inch thing but a dagger nonetheless. I’d argue her reaction is justified. That was an extreme example though.

I cant think of what scenario would bring the 3 of them together yet. But if max did choose to go out, isabel wouldnt be on her toes constantly aware of Danger as much as she would just try her best to have his back. Max can make his own decisions, and there’s a weird confusing line between ‘do my job as a bodyguard and keep him physically safe’ vs ‘do my job as a friend and give him support/advice/space’ vs ‘do my job as his future partner and maybe even feel mildly possessive or jealous because… were gonna be married someday and my guts feel weird when i think about him crushing on other people’. Shes in a very unusual and confusing position!

Which is where an element i like about fauizjo comes in, is “im running into you in the castle hallway and im fully aware that you were just kissing my bestnotboyfriend. I already had a bad first impression of you and now its so sour i can feel my insides curdle. you are everything, everything i cant stand, and everything everything everything i cant stand not having the option of having. How come max gets to. i know you were just kissing my best friend, and I hate you so much for it, and im going to deal with that by kissing you. Because I can! I can, okay?? i CAN do THINGS too! Playing the new Genshin expansion. I will write my thoughts and rambles that were accumulated during the entire controversy. I wanted to play it by myself to complete my opinion. I can say in advance that lots of my lowest expectations weren't met and that things aren't as bad as it seems, paradoxically.

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble installing TS3! I got a new gaming laptop not too long ago too, but I installed the game from disc. While I can't say exactly the problem might be I can tell you that the EA App in general tends to be a buggy mess of a thing. There are ways to bypass it and use Origin instead. They're easy enough to find online by searching for them. I don't know if it will help but it's worth a try. Otherwise installing from disc might work better.

The BIGGEST thing that sucks is that this is one of the dumb laptops that doesn't have a CD-Rom, so I can't use my basegame disc to install it, the way I did on my last 2 PCs. 😭

I could've sworn Origin was shut down months ago? You mean we can still install Origin & install games off it? 👀 I'll have to investigate for sure!
