Tl;dr
The Big Picture
DNA is made of 4 bases.
All 4 bases have now been found on meteorites from outer space.
One step closer to confirming carbon-based life on other planets!
Aliens anyone? 👽✨👀

Tidbits: Molecules of Food
Food is Fuel!
We all consume food, and it all breaks down into components.
Two of our senses (Taste and Smell), out of the five, are chemical in nature.
Protein!
Which isn't just meat. We can get protein through various sources such as Beans, Leafy Greens, Bugs. Protein is the building block of our bodies--muscles, hair, and hormones.
Protein breaks down during digestion into amino acids, which are then dissolved in our blood and carried off.
Carbohydrates!
Carbs are found in almost all food sources, but you may recognize Grains, Starches, and Sugar. Carbs are a vital food source for energy that allows and helps the body function.
They are easily (depends) broken down in the body and used first as a source of energy.
Lipids!
Oil. Butter. Lard. Fat. Unsaturated (liquid at room temperature) or Saturated (solid at room temperature), depending on its temperature. Lipids are another energy source that help produce hormones and carry vitamins to cells.

Above - fascia of the body Below - Mycillium of the earth . . When we talk about the body my favourite topic is fascia (as u may know) 🌈 this stuff total behaves like the mycelium under the ground - how the trees 🌲share their nutrients ... so next time u go for a walk - notice how similar to nature we are ... move your heart from here .... work in a field that supports nature - let’s make a new world with intention towards supporting nature .... not against her #gaiaswish #goodfriday . #reflections #fractalworld #nature #liferefinementtherapies #fascia #mycillium #connection #communicationpathways #simplescience (at Mycelium) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-xmoZTgT54/?igshid=6hi53m2f2haf

HAPPY #internationaldayofforests 🌳🌴🌲🌿🍃 80% of Guyana's land is covered by tropical rainforest and the #iwokrama forest at its centre is responsible for storing 1.3million tonnes of carbon. There are only four intact rainforests left in the world and the Guiana shield is one of them- basically, without the forests, the atmosphere would be full of carbon dioxide and we would all get very hot and suffocate and die like the dinos 🐲 #simplescience #stopbeforeyouchop #makeitrain #treemendous #saveatreesaveyouandme (at America/Guyana)

Mosaics are a very old form of art that deserves greater recognition. The art of mosaic has existed for thousands of years, yet very few of us are aware of their greatness and of that they still, in the techno world of today, are such an influence on humanity’s creative minds and scientific societies.
Here are some FAQ to shed some light on their history, their origin and our modern twist
1=What’s the meaning of “mosaic”?
Mosaics have been vastly used in Christian churches to bedizen walls and ceilings. A picture or design made from hundreds sometimes thousands of small pieces of colored tile, glass, or other material set in mortar.
mosaic-ceiling-noe-byzantine, colorful, thousand of pieces set in mortar…Truly astounding!

~Today‘s scientists use “mosaic” in labs: In genetics a mosaic, or mosaicism, is the presence of two or more populations of cells with different genotypes in one individual, who has developed from a single fertilized egg. It sounds complicated, watch this video by “SimpleScience”to better understand its implication, It’s truly amazing.
2=When did mosaic make its first appearance?
The earliest known examples of mosaics made of different materials were found at a temple building in Ubaid, Mesopotamia, and are dated to the second half of 3nd millennium BCE.Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials.
Here a basic chart, simplified from the oldest to the newest in history.
~New Old mosaics were recently discovered in the ancient Greek city of Zeugma, most stunningly well-preserved mosaics are dating back to 2nd century BC. This discovery is certainly keeping our scientific communities busy and astounded by their grandeur, surely hungry for further discoveries. Video from “ShantiUniverse”
3=Who was the first to fashion the mosaic?
The Greeks, invented the alleged tessera technique, they also elevated the pebble mosaic to an art of great sophistication. Mosaics in antiquity were first made of uncut pebbles of systematic size, thus The Greeks take the torch.
Made from pebbles called tessera, Greek
Depicting ancient mythical gods.
~“Today’s” There are no specific “who”,we modernized mosaics and brought it to a different level but always in respecting it’s ancient root of course. Modern mosaic are seen around the world, vastly found in Europe and the U.S..Covering everything from park benches and flowerpots to serving trays, instruments and vehicles. Some as small as a piece of jewelry or as large as a building.
Modern mosaic, used on any types of surfaces, a serving tray in this case.
Absolutely modern mosaic wall.

4=Why did Ancient Empires have mosaics?
The floors of Roman structures were often amply decorated with mosaics.Their Mosaic floors were a proclamation of riches and prominence. Often used to depict important character in their history, even the mythical ones. The Wealthy Romans embellished all of their main rooms with mosaics. There are so many exemplar of Ancient mosaic still existing today.
In ancient Macedonia, late 4th century BC, Deer Hunt.

Albania, oldest mosaic of the beauty of Durres. 4th century BC
~Today’s why; mosaic are used as crafts, statements and self-expression. Created by individuals of any background; a hard working nurse like Tilda Shalof or a prominent artist like “French Invader”, both are a great example of how broad mosaic art has become. Yes still loved, created and seen in every cities across the globe.
A work by Invader in Emaux de Briare.
Tilda Shalof spent 28 years as an ICU nurse. Over the years she collected medicine caps and lids, IV tubes and syringe covers that she turned into a massive mural mosaic.

In this video from “Toronto Star”, Tilda Shalof’s story behind her mosaic mural creation. A true inspiration.
A lots of easy DIY resources are available such as YouTube and local workshops.
Multiple techniques can be used in order to create something unique to you.
So to sum it up, humanity is always evolving, but as it does, It never leaves behind roots from our past creative history.

Another sunny day meant more outdoor learning for the Three Beans today! We decided to take some of their favourite Dragon and Dinosaur toys outside into the garden and to draw around the shadows they made on paper in the sun! This was great practise for their pencil control and they also made some really cool outlines that they could take back inside and colour in afterwards. We also explored what happened to the shadows when we moved to different parts of the garden. Then we chalked the outline of a T-Rex 🦖 on the floor and left him stood in place, checking back on him at 15 minute intervals, to observe how his shadow moved from the original position. This gave us a great opportunity to talk about why this happened by discussing the sun ☀️ and the Earth’s 🌏 orbit around it. They were having so much fun, I think they actually forgot they were learning?! 🙌🏻😃 We would definitely recommend giving this a go with your favourite toys too! #threebeansplaytime #3beansplaytime #shadowdrawing #learningthroughplay #learningthroughlife #homelearning #homelearningfun #outdoorlearning #simplescience #eyfs #eyfsideas #dinosaurshadow #learningisfun #homeeducation #thesun https://www.instagram.com/p/B-xyN5uHd7P/?igshid=1upt26xxo1br6
