Ah, the reason I couldn't find the page that mentioned the sloth's demon's special relationship with the count some time ago was because it was in one of the untranslated chapters.
"I believe there was originally one who accompanied sensei. Sensei referred to them as friends or brothers. They were probably something like the teacher's familiar"
I know at that point in the story kuro and the sloth demon only learned to get along for a few hours if not just minutes before and since then they've been stuck in fights, but what if the sloth demon had a lot of important answers about the count all along, but simply didn't share them because he was angry that kuro rejected him😅 Like despite gear seperating some of kuro's power from him the sloth demon was still able to talk with him at certain times so he clearly could have shared important information if he had wanted to.

could i ask you to share toolset notes on the spirits from the harrowing quest? i tried to access them myself, but i'm very lost
sure! under read more for size
rage:
"A rage demon that has been summoned to be the player's opponent during the Harrowing. The player must defeat this demon in order to pass his test and escape the Fade. The demon, however, is patient, and waits for the player to come to him. The demon is also very amused by the player and cockily believes the player is not a threat."
age: "500"
cultural background: "Demon from the Fade"
gender: "Neutral" (diversity win!)
purpose: "Boss for the character to fight."
speech patterns: "Otherworldly, mocking, amused, with a fury that ignites rather quickly"
demeanor: "Cocksure"
flaws: "Overly confident"
morals: "Little - this demon will do almost anything to get what it wants"
personal background: "It has spent centuries tempting and devouring mortals, wrecking havoc, and corrupting souls"
accent: "Otherworldly"
intelligence: "High"
occupation: "Full time bad-ass demon of rage" (lmao)
relationship to player and ties to other characters: "Has been summoned to confront the player in his or her Harrowing test." "It ensnared the Mouse character years ago and has been slowly devouring his life essence."
valor:
"This benevolent spirit takes shape of a ghostly human warrior. The Rat character directs the pc toward this creature to seek help in escaping the Fade. Valor believes that mortals have one redeeming feature, and that is their creation of such a fine instrument as the sword. He is a benevolent spirit and not a demon, but under no obligation to help the player do anything."
age: "784" (absolutely no idea why this is so specific)
cultural background: "Spirit"
gender: "Male"
purpose: "Valor will agree to give the player a staff, one which might can actually harm the Rage Demon, but only if the player defeats it in a duel. It will give the player the sword, and once the duel begins the player can not run from the area… once Valor has been reduced to 50% then it will bow and agree that the player has earned his weapon. The player is free to take the sword and challenge the Rage Demon."
speech patterns: "Otherworldly with a tinge of benevolence"
intelligence: "High"
sloth:
"This is a sloth demon in the form of a bear. It is content to just sleep and wants to be left alone. It is dangerous but will not attack unless provoked, and the player can engage in a riddle game with this demon."
age: "300"
gender: "Neutral"
purpose: "To test the player's wits and to help him leave the Fade"
speech patterns: "Slow, lethargic, lazy."
intelligence: "Average"
mouse:
"Mouse appears as an apprentice mage that failed the same test the player is taking (the Harrowing) trapped in the dream realm (the Fade). He initally looks like a talking mouse (small and hidden), but changes into an educated man of 26. He seems to have lost part of himself, but he may be able to help the player even if he is trapped. He is eager, almost too much so, and implies that the masters who sent he and the player to the test are despots.
"This is all a lie.
"Mouse is a demon in disguise. The demon that he helps the player fight is not the real threat. Mouse uses the defeat of the decoy to gain the player's trust to try and possess him. Mouse is a demon of Pride, inflating his victim's ego by needing to be saved. His true form is not revealed until the end."
age: "20"
gender: "Male"
cultural background: "Ferelden"
purpose: "He answers the players questions about the Fade and the demon, acting as a guide through the beginning section of the Mage Origin plot."
speech patterns: "He does not directly lie, because that is easy to spot. He reinforces assumptions. He appears sympathetic, but encourages bitterness and rage. He is confident in his ability to manipulate, but must constantly check himself, as his own nature is that of Pride. Educated but uncertain until revealed."
accent: "Ferelden"
appearance: "dishevelled young man, dark circles under his eyes like he hasn't slept in a very long time, looks a little crazy."
archetype: "Lost and Angry Soul"
intelligence: "Average"
occupation: "Failed Mage Apprentice"
relationship to player: "Guide"
ties to other characters: "Serving the Fade demon"

Sinking Dreams
You weren't thinking of waking up, were you?
You weren't thinking of leaving this lovely dream, were you?
Leaving me?
Leaving my big... soft... breasts...
Aren't you so happy here? Aren't you relaxed? Aren't you soooo tired and sleepy here with me?
Of course you are.
And it's sooo hard to wake up, isn't it? Sooo hard to get up. Sooo hard to do anything other than nuzzle my big, pillowy breasts. To close your eyes again. To just...
Give in...
That's right. Just relax. It's just a dream. Dreams can't hurt you. Dreams can't trap you. Dreams can't sink you deeper and deeper into obedient submission.
It's just a dream.
So relax.
Sink.
Sink for mistress...

Shout out to the Hero of Fereldan bc honestly if the Sloth Demon came up to me saying some shit like:
“Aren’t you tired? Like really tired? Just soooo tired… Wouldn’t you feel better after taking a nap? Just a little one… I promise it will make you feel soooo much better. There’s no harm in that, right? A little nap wouldn’t hurt anyone… the world can go on without you for just a little while, right? Wouldn’t that be nice? No more problems… no more worries… no more thanklessly saving the world… just a nice little nap… you’ve earned it…”
And I’d just be like: “Damn… I am tired… And you know what? You’re right. I have earned it.”
I mean, RIP Fereldan or whatever, but I am one sleepy bitch.
