Forgot how much I love Atsuko until I saw him again, spent the next hour scrolling his tag and reading about the nasty lil demon
He's so horrible❤️ really is his father's son
YeYEUEYEEYE honestly same I go through periods of withdrawal and then severe addiction sFYDYTSST he iSSS HE IS a nasty lil demon he’s a gross guy just like his dad and we love him for it
quick n very unchecked so sorry if it’s full of typos I just missed himmmm
tw mom x son incest, jealousy, ko being sweet for once gets him privileges
“Hi, Mrs. Oikawa! Looking good!”
“Yo, your mom is young. And hot.” Someone pipes up too loud, making the guys snicker when Atsuko resorts to chucking an empty beer bottle at his head. He dodges just in time, maybe luckily, because the others don’t know he definitely meant for it to hit. All except probably Eiji, who’s brows arch up in a knowing sort of quirk before he takes another few swigs of the alcohol.
“Gotta help unload, don’t wait up,” he says.
And it can only be the smart ass older guy who mumbles back an amused “Take your time.”
Atsuko doesn’t bother to reply further. He might’ve started a fight when he was a bit younger, instead he just jogs up to pick you up into a twirled hug first thing when you get out of the car.
You laugh brightly, and his mouth aches to meet yours. “Oh, hello,” your soft voice chants almost song like, rubbing your hand along his cheek just quickly before already starting to worm out of his grip. Too soon. “Missed you, Ko. You should have seen some of the rooms Tooru set us up into— they were perfect. I’ve never had such a relaxing time in my life.” Your face is coloured from the sun, a few extra light freckles to be seen on your cheeks when you click open the trunk and sigh at the luggage.
He’s quick to dip down and steal a kiss when you’re distracted, before tossing the bags over his shoulders and picking up the slumped luggage. “I got it.”
“Sure?” Your eyes shine, and he tries his best not to be jealous at the idea that you spent two whole weeks celebrating your anniversary with Tooru. Two weeks where his dad no doubt fucked you in every corner of the fancy suite and every semi-private area of the beach. He is though- extremely. “I leave for a few days to come back to my baby all gentlemanly,” you smile softly when he motions his face at the door.
And he clicks his tongue, before pulling the tip of it between his teeth as he trails behind you to get a good look of your ass in the elegant, but skintight skirt you’re wearing. “I’m wooing you, that’s why,” he nods back, grinning wider when you stare back at him.
+
His hands are on your shoulders as he manipulates you to sit in front of the mirror and look back at the both of you- hanging onto his hand as he stands full, towering height above you. “Atsu,” you start when his one hand moves to your crown, grabbing himself through his boxers while looking at every perfect expression on your face - flushed and needy and distracted, “I just got back, I’m tired. And your dad will be home in an hour, he’s just gone to get groceries- and- agh.”
He doesn’t bother to wait to push his underwear down until his already hard, flushed and heavy cock bobs up between his legs at the sound of your voice. Then his fist wrings around the edge of the head to watch some precum bead at the slit, and he shuffles in to put it up to your face. “Missed you too much. Don't tell me that old geezer tired you out that bad. See what I’ve been dealing with for weeks?” You don’t say anything because you’re too distracted with letting your hand wrap around as he insists, throwing his head back when you let your tongue out to meet his pounding tip. It thumps almost meanly with his heartbeat when your mouth lets him invade into it, slowing to suck around the most sensitive part of him. “Ohh- fuck. Oh fuck, mom. Missed my mom’s fucking- taste so much. Your mouth, ‘n your cunt- fuck me.”
It makes his entire face reddish with hot blood, mind so empty, and his eyes blurry when fucking into your mouth with impatient bucks. It just feels so fucking good when you don’t stop him, let out a soft mewl when sucking your cheeks around his thick length on the way up. “I’m in-,” you smack when you come up, smiling up at him and moaning when his fingers pull into your hair and yank you around, “in a good mood today.” Atsuko’s fucking flushed. Where you’re sitting under him without a complaint in the world, taking his balls into your mouth to make him shudder on his legs and stare down at you with mouth agar, he can barely believe it when you slip off your ring to put it on the grond, then blink up at him. “I like it when you miss me like this. It’s sweet.”
Your naked chest rises and falls in tune with his, where you blink big, loving eyes up at him Like you’re seeing only him. There’s no complaints of Tooru to be heard, and you’re kissing up his thigh in a way that will surely haunt him. “Tell me where you want me? Missed you, baby.”

Drew x girlfriend. He’s famous, lives in a big town, she lives in a village far away (which he stays at all the time) and doesn’t have any socials.
Drew has posted pictures of them holding hands (nothing more just to keep privacy) and his fans are getting crazy cause they don’t know who she is. One day they notice a ring on her finger in one of the pictures and they get even more crazy and he’s just like “they’ll never guess who you are, it’s like i can keep you to myself forever and I love it” and she says something like “you already get to keep me to yourself forever silly” and wiggle her newly wed finger in his face lol.

Pairing: Drew Starkey x Reader

Drew laughs at the comments on his current post. His fans love Y/N, yet they have no idea who she is and he truly does enjoy the anonymity of who she is. It means he gets to keep his slice of heaven to himself. When he started acting, he moved out to LA because it just made sense job-wise, but he found himself constantly coming back to Asheville, North Carolina. Of course, he missed his home state; however, the real reason to go back to NC is Y/N Y/L/N. The love of his life. She is the most down-to-earth and in-the-moment person he has ever met. At a concert, she is the only one singing along without her phone in the air, recording the show. During dates, she isn’t buried in her phone or obsessed with taking pictures of everything because she has no social media to post them on. She lets him be their photographer because she knows he will keep their private moments, private. He found love and that is with her.
She looks up from her notebook with a questioning look. “What’s so funny, Baby?” she inquires, getting up to look over his shoulder at his phone. He shows her the comments questioning who she is, “They’ll never guess who you are. It’s awesome. It’s like I can keep you to myself forever and I love it. My secret slice of heaven.” He brings her to his side by her waist, kissing her as she giggles at his words. “You already get to keep me to yourself forever, Silly. So I certainly hope you are keeping my forever because I don’t plan on giving you back,” she teases. His heart does a flip every time he sees the new ring on her finger, “God, I love that ring. You are so right. We can be each other’s forever. I love you.” “I love you too. Do you want to head to the beach?” she asks, heading to get her bathing suit out of her luggage. It’s their honeymoon, so of course, he is going to go swimming with his amazing wife.

Proper Education: A Dark!Joel Saltburn AU Chapter 1: Fair is Foul, and Foul is Fair
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Dark!Joel Miller x OFC!Reader (written in 2nd POV)
Chapter Rating: M for foul language, underage drinking, mentions of sexual activity and drug use
Word Count: 1.1k, just a baby chapter to kick things off (don't get used to this, most of these chapters will be monsters)
Reader Immersibility: OFC is insanely white coded (frankly this whole story is full of white nonsense), she is from an old money wealthy family that owns an estate from the Gilded Age in New York, she is 18 years old, a college freshman at University of Texas at Austin, and is considered beautiful by society's standards in 2006 which means she is thin, has long hair, and is able bodied. She is relatively smart, but by no means a scholar. She is very sociable and often uses her charm to get her way. Story is written in 2nd person POV so the reader can feel what she is feeling as the story progresses and to keep the reader’s perspective limited as things start to get weird whacky and wild, but it will be difficult for the average reader to see themselves as her physically (myself included, trust me).
Chapter Tags: 18+ MDNI, foul language, implied drug use, underage drinking, mentions of sexual activity, college freshman aged OFC, rich white people doing rich white people things, author is requesting that you suspend your disbelief for some of these things!!!, OFC's family estate is a real place but is not a family home, liberties are taken with regard to UTA student life, inspired by Saltburn
Dividers by @pommecita, story is not beta'd, just written and edited by yours truly

Yet do I fear thy nature;  It is too full o’ th’ milk of human kindness  To catch the nearest way.  -Lady Macbeth, Act 1 Scene 5
The car slows to a stop in front of the familiar old tower. The stone structure bleached by unrelenting ultraviolet rays from the unrelenting sun baring down an omnipresent heat. You’d almost forgotten what it was like, the Texan summer. Almost.
Your driver removes your luggage from the trunk of the black town car as you exit from your seat and step into the perpetually sticky August air, shading your eyes with a hand at your brow so you can properly thank him before you reach for your purse and leave him with a generous tip. You can’t remember his name, but you’re thankful for his service nonetheless. You’ve long become accustomed to a variety of faces in your family’s employ weaving in and out of your life; he is simply another face and name to add to the ever-increasing register.
Your family sent the majority of your things ahead of move-in day, the university easily agreeing to transport them to your suite in student housing, a benefit of having your last name on one of the buildings, you rationalize, leaving you with a single suitcase and weekend bag to attend to on your own as you make your way to the designated key pickup zone.
You were regretting your choice of attire the farther you strode across campus. You’d spent the last three months of your summer break idling at your family’s Long Island estate. The cool sea air making you quickly forget how unabating the summer heat was in landlocked central Texas. Your family had escaped the annual calefaction just after your graduation, retreating from your home in the rolling hills of Austin to the cool serenity of the Island. The estate is grandiose, passed through generations and now belonging to your mother and father. A bit gaudy in its opulence, in your opinion, but you harbor many fond memories from your summers spent there throughout your life—running through the vast gardens, sunning yourself on the meticulously manicured lawns, learning to golf and play tennis and swim, and as you grew a bit older, partaking in the many lavish parties hosted by your parents and grandparents alike, kissing boys in secret corridors, drunkenly losing your virginity in the grand library, gleefully breaking your D.A.R.E. pledges with your dear sister and cousin in your bathroom the first time someone brings over a tiny plastic baggie full of unlabeled white powder.
Your exposed skin glistened with sweat; low rise denim skirt clinging to the skin at your hips, skin beginning to chafe uncomfortably between your thighs. You were glad you’d opted to clip your hair up in a classic twist before you’d gotten off the plane, keeping your neck free from being insulated by your thick tresses. You’re thankful for the many trips to campus over your lifetime as you head towards the designated booth for freshmen to pick up their dorm keys. You’re a fourth generation Longhorn, a legacy, and you know you have a reputation to uphold. You try to keep your face poised, relaxed, friendly, as the growing beads of moisture begin to drip in tiny rivulets between your breasts and along the central dip of your spine.
You introduce yourself to the upperclassman working the table for your building and complete the requisite paperwork before you’re handed your keys—one for your door, one for your personal mailbox—and instructed to stop in the lobby before you drop off your items so you can have your student identification badge issued.
“Your ID works like a key to get into the building after 10pm. Don’t lose it,” you’re warned by the table attendant.
“Thank you, I’ll be careful,” you answer congenially, leaving them with a charming smile before you head in the direction of your dorm.
You find your building without issue and reluctantly have your picture taken by the residence hall staff for your student ID. They give you a rundown of the general building rules—curfew is 10pm, after which time only residents with their programmed ID badges will be permitted entrance, all overnight guests must be checked in at the front desk with a government or student ID, no alcohol or illicit drugs are permitted on the premises, smoking is not permitted inside the building—and you maintain eye contact with the staffer and smile and nod while you let their words flow in one ear and out the other.
Once you finish signing your agreement to follow the established residence hall code of conduct, your student ID has been printed and programmed. You take the badge with kind smiles and ample thanks before you haul your luggage to the elevator and make your way to your assigned room. A private double room all to yourself. Your parents insisted, making sure you’d have enough space to study and relax in equal measure.
“Sweetpea, you know how it is there, those RAs are not gonna be as lenient as your daddy and I with the,” your mother stops her sentence and gestures, mimicking smoking a joint with one hand and drinking from a bottle with the other. She had sat on the other end of the plush sofa with you as you debated which residence hall to choose after coming home after your new student orientation the previous spring.
You scoffed and kicked out a leg, painted toes bumping her thigh.
“What? I’m just sayin’, babydoll. You’re a good time, college is a good time, but the RAs can be real,” she lowers her voice, “cunts.” She snickers a laugh at her own crudeness.
“Mama, I know. I just thought it was part of the,” you raise both of your hands, forefingers and middle fingers miming quotation marks in the air, “college experience to have a random roommate or whatever.” You look back at the brochures in front of you and sigh before relenting. “I guess you’re right. The privacy will be nice.”
“Damn straight, baby. Plus, you don’t have to worry about a roommate being around when you bring a nice young man home to fu—”
“MOM, jesus,” you cut her off, shaking your head as she laughs.
“What?! Baby girl you are my daughter, that means you’re half of me, and I fully know what that entails, ok? No reason to be ashamed of it, you’re young and gorgeous. Enjoy it while it lasts,” she tips her glass of white wine in your direction. You reach for your own on the coffee table, lifting it to hers, allowing the crystal to clink and chime in cheers as you both take a sip.
You use your new key to unlock your door and haul your bags inside, finding boxes stacked neatly in the corner for you to unpack. “Welcome home, I guess,” you say to the four walls you’ll call home for the next year.

i shared something a few months ago about allergies and food disabilities and it recently started accumulating notes again and now it's at 5.7k, so obviously my activity page is just people trauma dumping about their awful experiences with allergies in the tags which is. Fun.
but what's really getting me is how i made a comment early on in the reblog chain about how many personal and professional activities revolve around food and how much it sucks to have to either put yourself at risk or miss out on those opportunities, because people often react badly either way if you cause them even the slightest inconvenience
and EVERYBODY who has responded to that comment. and I mean everybody. has focused on "personal" and made comments about how "if your friends don't respect your food disabilities, they're not your friends" and "you'll meet more supportive people in future" and all of that
and not one of them has paid any attention to the "professional" part of that. I'm talking about work Christmas dinners where if you don't go you're not a team player and will probably get passed over for future opportunities, but if you go, you'll get sick and HR will be mad about the extra time off. I'm talking about networking dinners and business lunches and meeting people at the buffet table at events, all of which are fraught if not impossible. I'm talking about travelling for conferences or other events and having to bring an entire extra bag with food because the venue can't cater for you (hand luggage only just ain't even an option at this point, so yay, extra costs if you're travelling further afield)
and also! smaller things like job interviews where you have to wear "smart" clothes (fitted waistbands and IBS? A Nightmare). dress codes in general. working in a building where the nearest toilets are on the opposite side. not being able to trust the work kettle/microwave because it might be contaminated but not having the facilities to bring/use your own. not being able to use communal tea/coffee/milk supplies for the same reason. all of those little everyday things
it isn't just about friends. it's about LIFE. i'm in an industry where events, lunches, etc are a common occurrence, and a nightmare for me. in academia, it feels like every other event involves a wine reception, which is shit when you don't drink and don't love being around people who are drinking a lot. in the office, i can't participate properly in any of the seasonal social gatherings, whether they're tea and biscuits or a Christmas meal
food disabilities have PROFESSIONAL impacts. because they are disabilities. it isn't just about having fun or hanging out with friends. it affects my career and my opportunities and it is INVISIBLE because people don't even know to recognise the ableism when they're doing it
i am tired of people ignoring that facet of it all

Eun Gyeol is all smart and crafty to navigate in the past...trying to change the future but then they had to ruin it all because of a product placement.
He had too many chances to notice that something is off about Sae Kyung, the airpod was a good save.
But then, the luggage tag had a different name!! Even if he ignored that because of all the sentiments he was overwhelmed with while getting down from the cab. But he was the one who took her suitcase upstairs, and had all the time to notice it again.
Plus, the medicine bottle must have the manufacturing and expiry dates from 2023. Please?
But, no we all have to wait till they show off their huge ass Samsung phones.
Because nothing says 2023, then a Z-Flip!! 🙄

You scoff, a pout on your lips while you pull at the end of your shirt over your jeans a bit upset that he had stopped kissing you. You start to follow him, muttering under your breath, “As if it was that hard to find the bedroom in a one bedroom airbnb…” Mingyu only catches the end furrowing his brows, uncertain of what you had said when you finally reach the same room as him.
“What did you say?” He watches you shrug and smile playfully causing him to narrow his eyes curiously. “Nothing, this is a nice room. Where are you going to sleep, Gyu?” Mingyu scoffs as you tease him, his eyes scanning over the king sized bed when you move over to it laying on it not taking up much space. “What, you don’t want to sleep with me?”
He hadn’t meant it like that but when your eyes widen, it doesn’t take long for him to do the same. “Oh…no not like that. I meant, just in the same…” Your laugh pulls him back to reality when you sit up and shake your head. “Mingyu it’s fine, of course I do. I mean I want you to sleep in this bed…with me.” Mingyu watches you struggle to find the right words, he knew that if he reached out to touch your cheeks they would be hot to the touch.
Clearing his throat, Mingyu nods, a smile crossing his lips when he looks back towards the luggage, starting to open it to find a few things. “Then it’s settled, we will sleep together…” He hears you take a breath causing him to smirk because he knew what he was doing when he finished his sentence, “in the same bed.”
“Mhm, that’s the plan. Is that the bathroom?” Mingyu glances to where you are gesturing, your voice cracking slightly causing his smile to widen slightly. “Uh probably, from the pictures, we have an ensuite.” You nod almost too enthusiastically while sliding off the bed to get past Mingyu to head to the bathroom when you find yourself with his arm around your waist pulling you back towards him.
“Take your toiletries with you, Y/N. Something tells me you won’t want to ask me to bring them to you.” You shiver to the feeling of his breath against your ear, your fingers hold his forearm against your stomach while you take a steadying breath. You find Mingyu smiling at you when you meet his eyes, his fingers trailing over your side and stomach before he steps away letting you do what you need to do. “Smart, you’re right Mingyu. I wouldn’t let you, probably.”
Mingyu watches you dig through your carry-on, his smile concealed just barely when you fumble with the smaller toiletry bag. His eyes follow you all the way to the door only to take a breath when you close it behind you leaving him in the bedroom alone so he can mutter to himself. “God…she’s so fucking cute. Keep it together, Mingyu.”
Inside the bathroom you lean against the large counter holding double sinks in front of possibly the biggest mirror you had ever seen. You hadn’t taken a chance to really look at your appearance since you had gotten off the plane so now you were cringing slightly from the obviously traveled appearance in front of you. Digging through your bag you find your makeup bag and hairbrush so you could touch up at least slightly before going back out to see Mingyu again.
No man had ever made you simultaneously feel shy, anxious, comfortable, and desired before. You were terrified to be around him and yet there was nowhere else you wanted to be. Running your fingers through your hair, you manage to tame it back to something acceptable, nodding at your reflection before heading back out into the bedroom. “Sorry, I know I’m being completely idio…”
You had started to explain yourself to Mingyu but by the time you got back into the room you found yourself smiling, your hand going over your lips to silence any sound. Soft breathy snores leave his lips, Mingyu’s body completely on the bed except for his arm that had managed to fall from his side. “God you didn’t sleep at all did you?”
The words are barely a whisper, you walk on your tiptoes though you had a feeling nothing was going to wake him. With a light touch you carefully lift at his arm putting it over his stomach, your eyes going to his face watching his lips smack a few times in his sleep. He was so handsome, you couldn’t help but to reach out, pushing his hair from his forehead. “Rest well, Gyu.”

WIP Wednesday
Tagged by @911onabc, @buddiearemydads, and @ebdaydreamer
So i've actually got two for ya'll today. First is from my a/b/o kidnapped mpreg Buck and the second is brand new, like just started writing it 30 minutes ago and its teen! Buck who comes to live with Maddie and Chimney, who is trying to find the balance of parenting (sort of) and friend, with the added trouble of fighter! Eddie who is two years older than Buck.
The car bounced under her as Buck threw in the last of their luggage.  Neither of them knew how long they would be gone, so they essentially packed every item of clothing they owned, which really wasn’t a lot.
Maddie hadn’t been in L.A. for too long and acquired very little in that time. Buck had been living out of his suitcase and a duffle, but that was nothing new to him.  Before coming to L.A., the omega was always ready to leave at a moment’s notice and since he still had yet to find his own place after leaving Abby’s, all Buck owned was now in the trunk.
Maddie’s eye roamed around the jeep, her jeep, the very same car that she gave to Evan to escape their parents.  Stored away last year after purchasing his newer jeep, that he then sold alongside her car just yesterday.  “Just to add to our nest egg.” Buck had explained after cashing the check and before she could even ask what vehicle they’re supposed to use now, the younger omega took her to a storage lot and revealed, the blue jeep.
Their freedom.
It was still in great shape, well taken care of. Well loved.  “I wasn’t going to sell it, but I felt I had to move on from the kid that drove this jeep all over trying to find himself. Storing it away let me keep the last part of you I had and allowed to me to grow up.” Buck explained.
It was sentimental and smart. The jeep was the last car Doug would even think to look for, since he’d only seen the cars that were now going to a used car lot.
And here we have Chimney catching Buck (and Eddie) at the illegal fight club.
This was not hurt being covered by angry cries. This was a 16 old kid who had lied his ass off about a movie with friends, and instead was at an illegal fight club with a gravely injured fighter being attended to by Hen and Bobby. This was Buck putting his entire new life in L.A. in jepardy.
Buck’s mouth opened and close, and Chimney could see the half ass lie forming, “The truth Buck!”
The teens jaw clicked shut, hardening as his blue eyes flickered over to the scattered crowd of fighters, onlookers, and betters intermingled with police officers. He was looking for someone, Chim realized, and he followed the young man’s gaze, trying to find who he assumed was Buck’s partner in crime.   Most of the people left were sleezy older men, scantily dressed women, and a mix of battered fighters. Then Chimney spotted him.
Hidden further back by a beat up two-door truck was a shirtless young man, late teens if Chimney had to guess, with large brown eyes darting around in worry and concern. He was slim, but in good shape, based on the lean muscles of his arms and defined abs. The guy was sporting a few bruises on his chest and his lip was busted open and swollen. Mix in the sweat and messy chestnut locks of hair, Chimney clocked him as one of the fighters. And when the young man’s eyes landed on him and Buck they narrowed in on Chimney with underlying threat and anger. This was who Buck was looking for.
In the corner of his vision, Chimney caught Buck shaking his head, and Chimney gave his attention back to girlfriend’s brother, “Did he bring you here?” he asked.

The secret world of Tevayt (Ch.2)
Tumblr media
Part 1 (here)
As Lumine and Aether enter the renovated Inn, Xiangling happily greeted her long-time friends. She ran and happily pulled the twins in a tight bear hug.
“I’m so Happy You guys are here! How are you doing Aether?” Xiangling asked him as she let go of the twins.
“I could be doing better,” He said with a weak smile.
“Oh Is your heart not getting better?” Xiangling asked with a sad expression.
“There's going to be an operation to help his heart in a couple of days,” Lumine said.
“Well, I can’t wait to make an epic banquet when the operation is successful,” Xiangling smiled softly.
“Thank you, Xiangling,” Aether smiled weakly.
“Oh let me show you to your rooms,” Xiangling said as she helped with the luggage.
As the twins and Xiangling made their way down the halls, two little girls laughing and screaming came running down the hall.
“Hurry Nahida, the tiny people are moving,” A girl dressed in red said excitedly.
“We have to get the food ready for them,” The girl in green added as she chased the red girl.
“Who were those two?” Lumine asked with a chuckle.
“Oh, those are Alice’s kids. The girl in red is Klee and The green one is Nahida. They kind of live here, when their mom is away,” Xiangling explained. “But at least their aunty Gold is always around.”
“Gold?” Aether asked.
“Yeah, she lives in the attic turned laboratory,” Xiangling smiled. “She says she’s an alchemist of sorts. Oh, there she is over there.”
Xiangling pointed to the stairs, and there was a smart-looking woman heading up to the attic. She had a strange beaker in hand.
As The three continued on, a room to the left was fulling of singing and music. Xiangling explained that the room belong to three girls who wanted to start a group. Barbara, xinyan, yunjin. They met many new people in the Inn. Like Ms.Jean the manager, college students Layla and Faurzan, the housekeepers Noelle and Thoma, and the regular visitors of Ningguang and Beidou.
Eventually, Lumine, Aether, and Xiangling made it to Ather’s room for the week. It was a simple room when Aether noticed a beautiful doll house in the corner of the room. Looking inside the furniture and decor were immaculate, this house must have been very expensive.
Unbeknownst to the humans in the room, through a tiny crack in the wall, a pair of tiny eyes were surveying them.
_______________________
“Two new humans,” a red-haired borrower said.
“How many?” a blond borrower asked.
“Two new humans, Mika,” the red-haired borrower said
“Right I will write this down Diluc,” Mika nodded.
“We should head back to come back with a plan. One of them looks sickly, so he probably won't be much trouble,” Diluc said as he made his descent down the nail stairway in the inner sides of the wall. Mika quickly follows since Diluc is the one with the lamp.
Back in the Colony, Everyone was gathering in the living area. Sitting, resting, talking, eating, and all sorts of things.
“I can’t believe Zhongli just agreed to just let you tag along with the Borrower team,” Kaveh sighed as he placed the silk flower down in the living room. “ It’s incredibly dangerous, and you still haven’t officially chosen your role yet.”
“And you chose a role you hate,” Y/n pointed out.
“Yes, but that’s because the Ei didn’t see interior design as a useful role in the colony, so I chose Post guard,” Kaveh sighed as he sat down at a nearby counter. “Just be careful okay? Humans are dangerous for a reason.”
Y/n nodded when Keqing came to the living area.
“Hey, this is the last call to write down what you need to be borrowed. If you don’t fill this out soon you’ll have to wait 2 weeks for the time,” Keqing said sternly, holding up a paper.
“Wait I need tissue paper!” Kaveh said as he quickly rushed over to Keqing.
Soon more people started to gather around Keqing and began to write on the list. Soon Diluc and Mika returned and Zhongli greeted them as they began to discuss.
“We found 2 new humans in the house. However one of them looks a bit sickly,” Mika explained.
“He most likely won't be much trouble, and go to bed early,” Diluc added.
“Great job you two, oh, and Y/n will be joining your crew tonight,” Zhonghli said to them.
“Y/n? Have they finally chosen their role?” Diluc asked.
“No, but they would like to try this out before finally settling on one,” Zhongli explained.
“We’ll keep a close eye on them,” Diluc promised with a nod.
Zhongli calls Y/n over and introduces her to the caption Diluc.
“Hello, Diluc. I’m very excited to see what your work is like. I will do my best to stay out of your way,” Y/n promised.
“Just keep on your toes and stay out of sight,” Diluc said simply. “Get ready, we’ll be leaving in 20 minutes.”
“Right!” Mika and Y/n said.
—--------------------------------------
Y/n stood before Zhongli’s borrower team. It consisted of Caption Diluc, scout Mika, Scharamouche, Gorou, Kuki, Heizou, and Hu toa. As The group made their way to the main exit, the colony saw them off and wished them the best of luck and a safe return.
“Y/n! Be safe!” Childe called out from a window.
Y/n waved back as a gross creature started to sneak up behind them. Childe gasped and quickly drew his bow and shot at the cockroach. Y/n quickly turned to see the large creature, they quickly drew their bat and started to slug the roach. With a screech, it quickly scurried away into the dark.
“Nice work Newbie,” Heizou said as he clapped his hands in congrats.
“It’s just a roach Heizou, nothing to get excited about,” Scaramouche scoffed.
“No need to be such a downer, it’s nice to know we have a capable potential member joining us,’’ Heizou arguedwith a smile as he rests his arm on Y/n’s shoulder.
Scaramouche just rolls his eyes and walks off to catch up with the group. Heizou sighs and gives Y/n a friendly pat on the back as they caught up with the rest of the group. As Diluc stayed back to make sure everyone crossed the nail bridge safely, he turns to Y/n with a nod. Y/n looked down at the edge, it was a far drop. The nails were wedged into a wood beam, each nail spaced out just far enough for a large step between each nail. With calm strides, they made their way across the nail bridge as Diluc followed behind to keep an eye out for them.
At the end of the bridge, Kuki held out her hand to help Y/n off.
“How much farther to the first stop?” Y/n asked.

Christmas Chainshipping
Tw: talks of homophobia, cute chainshipping, my chaotic brain nor braining
Happy Holidays and enjoy.
Adam hated Christmas. He hated the christmas shoppers, traffic, songs, decorations, all of it. He can't help it, of course, it's a lonely time of year for him.
His father disowned him and won't let his mother contact him, not that she would, and his siblings just didn't care. He did what was best and what he thought would hurt less and moved to a different city, but the longing of familiarity, home, and comfort reminded him of what he had lost.
He shoves the door to the breakroom open and stomps to the time clock. His coworkers giving him odd looks.
"Good morning, Adam," Abigail says sweetly.
"It's not good. It's just morning," Adam responds.
"Happy aggravated morning to you, then, Adam."
"I only got an hour and a half of sleep last night. Sorry to be short with you, Abs," Adam explains.
"Maybe you should see a doctor about that. I mean, you haven't gotten any sleep since the day I met you. That's been three years, son," Penny says as she stirs creamer and sugar in her coffee. Adam makes some kind of noise of acknowledgment and annoyance.
"It's too damn early, Pen."
"I know, sweetie, I know," she responds, giving Adam's shoulder a comforting pat. Adam quickly grabs his radio and name tag and runs out to the floor where he is greeted by his manager.
"I know you don't like being over in fitting room, but I need you over there steaming tablecloths for the display tables and processing merchandise. Mads is over there, so it shouldn't be too bad for you. Oh lord, two people who hate mornings, here early in the morning, in one spot. This should be fun," Carla, the senior assistant manager explains. Adam nods silently and trudges over to the fitting room.
"Hey, Mads."
"Hey, Adam."
"Too early for this shit."
"Amen. Steamer is preheating. I'm starting on shoes. Carla said once one of us is done we can help sensor makeup and the handbags and luggage are coming this way once they break down the truck."
"Got it. How many tablecloths? Do you know?"
"Two I think. Harry brought out two more tables."
"I hate Christmas."
"Were you here for Black Friday?"
"Yeah. Toys and kids stuff."
"Oh yeah. I was in home decor. Never again."
"I don't know what it is about that day, but it turns everyone into animals."
"Truth."
The two fall into a comfortable silence. Mads working on getting the shoes ready for display and Adam steaming the bright green tablecloths. Once Adam is done he gets to work on processing the makeup and organizing it for the beauty associate.
"What are you writing?" Mads asks and she watches Adam scribble something onto a sticky note.
"The contents of boxes. I always do this. It makes it easier on whoever has to put the stuff out."
"Smart."
The silence falls over them again until Mads is sent to break. When she has walked away a short, brunette girl runs up.
"Hi."
"Hi, looking to try on something?"
"No, my friend over there thinks you're cute. The blonde guy," the girl says, pointing to a very red faced blonde man and laughing brunette man. Adam must admit the guy is kind of attractive, but he's not interested in dating this close to the holidays. Not when it requires actually having to buy gifts. Nope. Not right now anyway. Maybe for New Year, so he can have a kiss at midnight.
"Well, I'm flattered. Tell him I say thank you."
"Could he get your number or I give you his?"
"Oh, uh, um, not right now. I'm not looking," Adam says, pulling at the back of his neck.
"Oh, okay."
"Check back with me after Christmas."
"Okay! Will do!" The girl starts to walk away. She quickly spins on the ball of her foot dramatically. "His name is Lawrence, by the way."
"Adam," he says, pointing to himself. He gives a wave to the two men. The brunette gives a short wave with an amused smile on his face. The blonde guy, Lawrence, gives a shy wave, his face still red. The girl waves and runs back. Adam can hear the girl when she talks to her friends.
"His name is Adam!" The girl shouts then is quiet again, but keeps talking. Lawrence's face falls a little as he looks back up to Adam, who gives him a polite smile. The trio start walking, just wandering the store. Adam catches glimpses of them and every time he sees Lawrence, his heart feels funny. Almost like he's yearning for the taller man.
A few days later, Adam is running registers with Mads. They're the only two people scheduled up front, but they don't mind because the rush is over and they've already cleaned everything, so now they're just chatting.
"Okay, but hear me out," Mads starts, "Jack could have fit on the door."
"Did you not see the documentary thing James Cameron did? While, yes, he could have fit on the door, they wouldn't have both survived it. It would've been too cold for them. Plus, you seen in the movie that Jack tried to get on the door, but it nearly capsized with them both on it. Pay attention, Mads."
"What are you? Some kind of doctor?"
"No, but I am. He's right, the cold would have killed them. Hypothermia would have set in quicker." The duo look towards the voice and see it's the guy from the other day. Lawrence was his name, right? Adam gets over his initial shock and grins smugly at his friend.
"Told ya so."
"Shut up. If we weren't infront of a customer right now, I'd pummel you into next week, Stanheight!"
"Pummel? You'd pummel me?"
"Yeah, pummel, what about it?" Mads asks defensively. Adam chuckles and turns to the customer.
"Find everything okay, sir?" Adam asks as he logs into the register.
"Fine, thank you. How are you, Adam?" Lawrence asks, trying to gage Adam's attitude. It seems a friendly one.
"I'm good and yourself?"
"Good. Happy it's closing time, huh?"
"Oh yeah, I hear my bed calling my name. I have tomorrow off, so I'm just gonna sleep all day."
"That's fun. No other plans?"
"Nope. Just me, my mattress, and probably some Skyrim."
"That sounds like fun. You have a good night."
"You too, sir, and come back to see us," Adam says as he hands Lawrence his receipt. Lawrence leans a little closer and speaks to where only Adam can hear.
"Call me 'sir' again and I may have to join you in your bed. Goodnight, Adam."
Adam's breath hitches as he watches the taller man confidently limp out the door. Adam can feel the blood rush to his cheeks. He starts to walk to the breakroom.
"Hey, where are you going?"
"To get some water," Adam says a little too quickly.
Mads cocks her head to the side in confusion before logging into her register and ringing up customers. Adam was flushed the rest of the night.
Having the two days off in a row left Adam recharged and ready to face the long shift ahead of him. After about a hour, he wants to go home again. He's sick of this Christmas rush bullshit. Just buy your gifts online like a normal person.
"Jesus H. Christ on a crutch while on a mother fucking bike," Adam mutters to himself as he pushes his way through a crowd who are standing in the middle of everything. They're just chattering on and on about how this one girl is three months pregnant even though her husband has been deployed for eight months.
"Hi, Adam," a voice says. Adam is about to roll his eyes before he realizes he recognizes the voice. He spins around and greets the girl and the brunette man. Lawrence is no where in sight.
"He's in the bathroom," the man says when he sees the questioning look in his eyes.
"I wasn't-"
"It's okay. You like him. It's cute," the girl says.
"He made me uncomfortable the other day. I'd like to avoid him."
"Good comfortable or bad comfortable?" The man asks.
"I don't get what you mean, dude," Adam replies as he straightens up a bunch of barbie convertible boxes.
"Well, a good comfortable is the tingly feeling you get in your pants," the man is interrupt by the girl smacking him.
"Mark! We are in public!"
"So? You've said worse."
"Yeah, but not infront of Lawrence's love interest."
"What's the bad uncomfortable?" Adam asks, regaining control of the conversation.
"If he made you feel skeeved out and you wanted to call the police," the man, Mark, answers. Adam considers this a minute, feeling his face heat up.
"The good uncomfortable," he whispers. Mark chuckles and the girl, that Adam still doesn't know the name of, hides her smile behind her hand.
"There you two are," an all too familiar voice calls from behind Adam. Mark throws an arm around Adam's shoulders, well closer to his neck really, and pulls him behind a rack of infant clothes.
"Listen, Adam, this guy really likes you. He's the one that has made us come in here for weeks. He saw you about two months ago and he was gone. Head over heels. We were here to find Amanda a dress for a funeral," Mark explains quietly.
"Amanda is the girl with you?"
"Yeah. He hasn't shut up about you. I know you said you're not into dating until after Christmas, but, if you're comfortable with it, get to know the man. For us?"
"I think I could get to know him. But that's it."
"Heard. Come on," Mark walks with Adam to the tables stacked high with boxed toys. Lawrence and Amanda are having a whispered conversation and don't notice th other pair until Adam clears his throat.
"Hi, I'm Adam Faulkner-Standheight, I'm twenty six, and I like photography, napping, reading, and knitting."
"Knitting?" Mark asks.
"Stabbing people is illegal and knitting is kind of like legal stabbing. Don't think about it too hard."
"Yeah, you'll fry what little brain cells you have left," Amanda jokes. Mark goes to say something, but Lawrence cuts him off.
"Nice to meet you, Adam. I'm Lawrence Gordon. I'm forty-five, divorce, I have a daughter named Diana, I'm a doctor, and I like to read, build puzzles, and go on walks."
Adam holds his hand out for Lawrence to shake. Before turning expectantly towards Amanda. She looks dumbfounded for a minute before she understands.
"Oh, um, hi, I'm Amanda. Amanda Young. I'm thirty two and I like gardening, painting, and reading."
The group looks to Mark, who rolls his eyes, but obliges.
"Mark Hoffman, ex police officer, forty, hobbies include true crime shows and podcasts, reading, woodworking, making things from leather, and working out."
"You make things out leather?" Adam asks, genuinely interested.
"Yeah," Mark pulls out a shiny, new looking wallet. "Made this a couple of days ago. Take a look."
Adam takes the wallet and admires the craftsmanship. The smooth edges, the carefully stitched seams and pockets, and the name carved into the bottom right corner of one of the pockets.
"Hoffman? Do you know Angela?"
"Yeah, she's my sister."
"No way! She used to work here."
"Was she a good worker?" Mark asks.
"The best. She was my coordinator. She was in school while she was here wasn't she?"
"Ang was in nursing."
"Where is she now?"
"Doctor's office by the park."
"I'll have to go in there sometime. I'm looking for a doctor since mine retired."
"Adam to your register please," the cashier coordinator calls though the radio. Adam rolls his eyes and let's his shoulders slump. He groans before answering.
"On my way, Melinda. Sorry, guys. Duty call."
"Go on. They need you more than us," Lawrence encourages. Adam gives him a smile and runs up to the registers. The line is so long and more people just getting in it. Adam loses track of how long he's up there until a certain blonde man and is two friends approach his counter.
"Find everything you need?" Adam asks absent mindedly.
"Everything, except your number," Lawrence answers. Adam snaps back to reality and stares up at Lawrence.
"Three," Adam replies, smiling to himself.
"Actually, you're on register six," Amanda says. Adam chuckles and rolls his eyes.
"Fine, six. Six is my number."
"Come on, Adam, you know what I meant," Lawrence says, calling the attention back to him. The receipt prints and Adam scribbles something on the back of it before handing it to Lawrence.
"Enjoy your..." Adam trails off. He doesn't know what Lawrence bought, so he checks the bag. "New boxers?"
Lawrence chuckles and steps aside for his friends can make ther purchases as well. He taps away on his phone for a moment. Mark steps over to Lawrence.
"I think we're in the way. I know you wanna stare at him, but I think we should go wait for Amanda by the door."
"Amanda, Mark and I will be at the door. We're going to go get out of the way," Lawrence calls to her. She gives them a quick look and nods before going back to the story she's telling Adam. He laughs a genuine laugh. Something he hasn't done in a while. Melinda, his coordinator, sends Adam on his lunch after his transaction with Amanda.
"Where are you going?" Amanda asks as Adam steps around the counter to stand with her.
"It's break time, so I'm gonna use you as a human shield. I'm going outside to chill for my lunch break."
"How long is it?"
"Fortyfive minutes."
"Perfect. Let's go get food."
"I'm not hungry. Too anxious. There's too may people and I'm to overwhelmed to even think about food."
Amanda nods in understanding and starts to walk through the families standing at the registers. Most of them are parents and grandparents with small children, buying lots of toys and clothes and gift cards for Christmas presents. Adam has his hands on her shoulders, steering her through the crowd. They reach the other two men, who look confused by Adam's presence.
"I have lunch right now. Oh, shit, I have to go punch out. I'll be back," Adam explains and disappears into the mass of people milling about. Once in the breakroom, he pulls his phone out. He has a text from an unsaved number.
"You could enjoy my new boxers too."
Adam blushes, knowing the text is from Lawrence. He quickly makes his way to his locker and ducks his head inside, saving Lawrence's number and willing his cheeks to cool down.
A few minutes later he reappears, wearing a black jacket, and holding a backpack in his hands. "Okay, let's go."
Adam leads the trio behind the store to a little patch of woods that connects to a park. He goes to find the tree stump that he has been using as a stool and drops all his weight onto it.
"That kind of day, huh?" Mark asks, leaning against a tree. Adam nods, making some kind of muffled sound.
"You're not eating?" Lawrence asked.
"Too many people. Overwhelmed. Not hungry." Adam answers as he lays back onto the massive stump.
"I could hit them with Lawrence's cane for you," Amanda offers. Adam laughs but shakes his head.
"I'd get in trouble because Melinda thinks you're my friends, so I'd get in trouble because she hates me for some reason."
"Any idea why?" Mark asks.
"I don't know. She's super religious. Maybe she's homophobic as well."
"And she hates you because your gay?" Amanda asks.
"Actually, she says I don't exist because I'm bi."
"We can not exist together, then," Amanda says happily. She lays beside Adam and looks up through the trees to the sky. Lawrence joins them on Adam's right.
"Come on, Mark," Lawrence says, "it's kind of relaxing."
Mark huffs, but walks over and lays across the stump as well.
"So, we're not your friends?" Mark asks.
"No, you are, I guess. Melinda knows that. That's why I'd get in trouble for anything you guys did. She loved Angela though."
"If you ever want to quit, let us know. We got you," Amanda says. Adam chuckles.
"Okay."
They chat for a while until Adam checks his phone. He groans as be stands back up.
"Sorry, guys, I gotta go back."
"We'll walk you," Lawrence says, using his cane to push himself up. Adam smiles and starts walking back towards the store. Lawrence is on his right and keeps 'accidentally' bumping his hand into Adam's. Adam takes the hint and links his pinky with Lawrence's. The two smile at each other.
A few days later, Adam walks out of the store. The sun is almost down as he makes his way across the parking lot. He lives about an hour away by foot, but he doesn't mind the walk when he can't get Mads to give him a ride. He normally just listen to music and thinks, while being aware of his surroundings, of course.
He is almost at the gas station that marks the halfway point. He normally goes in for a snack and a drink, so he starts a path towards the doors. He hears a car pull in behind him, but doesn't pay attention as he pulls on the heavy door.
He's about to open the refrigerator door to grab a drink when a cane smacks the door, startling Adam from whatever thought he had. Adam jumps and spins around to find Lawrence smiling at him.
"I saw you out on the road. How far do you live?"
"A hour from the store on foot. Maybe fifteen-ish by car."
"How far from here?"
"Half an hour."
Just then, they hear a crack of thunder overhead. Adam looks past Lawrence, who looks over his shoulder, at the rain falling.
"Shit."
"We can take you home."
"Thank you."
"Not a problem at all, dear."
Adam's heart flutters at the term of endearment. He grabs his drink and turns to walk up front. He doesn't get a snack like he had planned. When he goes to pulls his wallet out, Lawrence pulls him back by his shoulder and hands the cashier money. Adam goes to protest, but Lawrence holds up the drink, turns, and walks out. Adam follows him out to the car, where Lawrence is holding open the door for him. He crawls into the backseat with Amanda.
"Hey, Adam. Long time no see."
"It's been too long," Adam jokes back. Amanda's door opens and Lawrence motions for her to get out. She doesn't get out, but crawls into the front seat, instead.
"Jesus Christ, Amanda, is this really necessary?" Mark asks. Lawrence replaces Amanda, sitting in the seat behind Mark, carefully moving his leg into the car.
"We're taking Adam home," Lawrence explains.
"And you guys will stay for dinner," Adam chimes in, pulling his phone and finding the app he uses to order pizza. Mark holds his phone out to Adam.
"Put in your address."
"Order whatever you want," Adam says, handing Mark his phone. A few minutes later, Mark has set on the course to Adam's apartment. According to the app, the pizza should be at his apartment in about twenty or so minutes after they arrive. "Mi casa es su casa."
The trio follow Adam into his apartment and take in the light gray walls, the brown, worn in couch, and the mess of dishes on the coffee table. There are multiple baskets and boxes of yarn scattered around the apartment. The dining table is covered in printed patterns, knitting needles, darning needles, stitch markers, tape measures, yarn, and unfinished projects. Adam walks through the apartment and dissappears into another room. He walks back in moments later in a pair of sweats and a Star Wars shirt. Lawrence is looking at the art on the wall by the doorway Adam disappeared into. He turns to the shorter man.
"You look better in that than your uniform," Lawrence says softly.
Adam's cheeks heat up and he mutters a quick thanks before he starts gathering the days old plates, cups, and cutlery. He walks into the kitchen and starts to wash a few of the dishes, so they will have something to eat on.
"You guys can watch whatever you want by the way. Remote should be on the table over there."
"You looked lonely," Lawrence's voice startles Adam back to reality. He had been lost in thought and decided to finish the dishes instead of waiting until later. His mind had started to wander to how he ended up with three people who were still strangers to him, but he knew that they were going to be good friends to him. And one of them could be even more.
"Oh, I'm good. Just thinking."
"About what?" Lawrence asks as he grabs a towel and starts drying everything. He sets them onto the counter since he doesn't know where anything goes.
"About how you guys are the first people to be nice to me in a while."
"What?"
"Yeah, I mean, I have Mads, but we don't really hangout outside of work unless she brings me home. Even then, we only talk about work. She's my work friend. That's about it. I don't have any friends outside of there. I'm always here. My family won't talk to me. I was always a disappointment to them. So, when I left for college, I vowed to never go back to them. I had to drop out, though. I was going to be evicted and needed money. I play videogames and read to pass the time. I go on walks and take pictures of nature or people to distract myself. To convince myself I'm not lonely. Especially around this time of year. I hate Christmas. I hate giving gifts because nothing I gave my parents was ever good enough for them. I stopped showing up to our family Christmas. I'd stay in my room reading the new book I'd bought for myself as a Christmas present. My family never noticed. And if they did they didn't care." Adam realizes his rambling and scrambles to fix the situation. "I mean, not to trauma dump, of course! You just asked what I was thinking about and that was it. I'm pathetic. I'm sorry. I'm rambling."
"What were you studying?"
"Huh?"
"In college. What was your major?"
"Computer sciences."
"Would you go back, given the chance?"
"In a heartbeat, but it's not feasible for me right now."
Lawrence nods. He reaches for Adam, who has moved across the small kitchen to put away dishes. Adam takes his hand and is pulled into a hug. Lawrence's arms are wrapped around Adam's shoulders. Adam's are wrapped around Lawrence's waist. His head tucked up under Lawrence's chin as Lawrence leans against the counter. For once in a very long time, Adam felt safe.
"You're not pathetic."
The day before Christmas was probably the busiest day of the entire year. The last minute shoppers were many, loud, and rude. Adam was happy he didn't have to close. In fact, his shift was over and he was trying to make his way through the crowd. Soon, he walked out the doors and into the fresh air. He spotted Mark's car and started walking towards it.
"Hey, Mark, thanks for the ride," he says while jumping into the front seat.
"No problem, Lawrence and Amanda have been arguing all day. I'm glad to be out of it."
Adam laughs and Mark pulled put of his parking space only for it to be immediately taken by another last minute shopper. The two chat on the way to the small house Lawrence and Amanda share. Mark parks at his house across the street and his partner walk out to greet them.
Adam had met Peter the day after he had his trio of friends to his house. Mark had went home and told Peter about Adam and Peter wanted to meet him. So, the next day, Mark showed up at Adam's apartment. Adam had the day off and was in the middle of watching Titanic. Well, technically he was at the end because he was full on sobbing, tears an snot trailing down his face.
"Are you okay?" Mark asked. Adam nodded, wiping his face with a tissue.
"I'm watching Titanic. What's up?"
"My boyfriend wants you to come have game night with us and Amanda. Lawrence has to work."
"Okay, let me finish the movie and get changed. There's like twenty minutes left. Come on in," Adam said and walked back to the couch. Mark ended up shedding secret tears he thought Adam didn't see. Adam told and it made game night even more fun.
Peter was kind and he and Adam boned immediately over their love of Star Wars.
"Hi, Peter," Adam says, grabbing one of the dishes of food from the man's arms.
"Hi, Adam. Thanks."
"How was work, babe?" Mark asks.
"I wanted to chew off my arm the whole time," Peter answers.
"Same here," Adam says.
"I'm gonna run inside for a minute. I'll meet you over there," Mark says before he kisses Peter on the cheek and walks to his house.
"No telling how long he'll be in there."
"Okay, let's go get out of this cold," Adam says. The two men walk across the street. Adam manages to ring the doorbell. The door swings open to reveal a flour covered Amanda. She smiles widely at the two men.
"Hi, Adam. Hello, Peter."
"Hi."
"Hey, Mandy," Peter says. The door is opened wider and the duo make their way inside and to the kitchen. Lawrence is taking a pie out of the oven.
"Hey, Larry."
"Hi, Petey," Lawrence says, turning around. He spots Adam and his already lit up face lights up even more. "Hi, Adam."
"Hi."
Lawrence hobbles his way around the island to engulf Adam in a hug. Adam gladly accepts this as it has become his favorite form of comfort. Adam is the one who breaks the contact.
"Where's your bathroom?" Adam asks. Lawrence takes his hand and starts limping around a corner. "Where's your cane?"
"Upstairs. I haven't thought about it until now."
"I can go get it for you."
"I can get it."
"Let me. I can see it's not entirely easy for you to walk right now. I can't imagine you going upstairs."
"Thank you."
A few minutes later, Adam is walking into Lawrence's room. He looks around the room. Everything is neatly places and looks near perfect. He spots the cane leaning against the nightstand. He goes to grab it and looks at the picture frames on the nightstand. He picks up the one in a gold frame. It's a girl with brown curly hair. She looks like Lawrence. This must be Diana. He sets it down and picks up the one in a black frame. The photo inside is of him and Lawrence. The first photo they took together. Amanda took it. They decided to go bowling one day after Adam got off work. The photo is of Adam holding two bowling balls up to his chest. He has a goofy smile on his face and Lawrence is behind him, leaning over to get a ball while looking at Adam. An amused look in his eyes and a lovestruck grin on his face.
Peter won, Amanda lost. She pouted most of the night after that.
Adam's heart flutters as he sets the frame back down and grabs the cane. When he returns downstairs, he catches Lawrence's eyes and gives him a knowing glance.
"Thank you, darling," Lawrence says as he takes his cane from Adam. Adam smiles at him and looks around to see everyone else distracted by setting the table. He quickly goes up on his toes and gives Lawrence's cheek and quick peck before going to help with the table. Minutes later they sit down to eat.
"Are you getting Diana tomorrow," Peter asks.
"I'm going to see her tomorrow morning. They're taking her to her Michael's family's tomorrow afternoon."
"What did you get everyone?" Amanda asks.
"An art set and a new laptop for Diana and tickets to a play Allison was talking about for Allison and Michael. Allison is also getting a book and Michael is getting a twelve in one tool thing. I think he'd like it."
"You're friends with your ex and her partner?" Adam asks. Lawrence nods.
"We didn't part on bad terms. I figured out who I was and she was supportive of that. We knew our marriage wasn't going to last, but also decided to part as friends. I was married to her for ten years, so, of course, it was hard. We get each other and Michael isn't a bad guy. I'm glad he's going to be Di's stepfather."
"Are they engaged?" Amanda asks excitedly. When Lawrence nods again Amanda squeals happily.
"Are you okay with us being friends?" Lawrence asks Adam.
"I think it's nice. You don't see it a lot and I think it's better for children to see their parents get along. Divorced, separated, not even married at all, married, but hates each other. It's good to see the positive side. I always saw the negative. I admire you."
"Well, thank you, Adam." Lawrence says. Adam smiles back.
After eating Adam helped Amanda put away food and clean up the dining room while Mark and Peter washed dishes. Lawrence was in the living room getting everything ready for a gift exchange.
Adam was nervous. He had put his gifts under the tree before cleaning the dining room. He was scared that none of them would like their presents. He made them himself, staying up night after night to get them all done. He had fun while doing it. Mainly because he caught up on his shows and YouTube videos.
Amanda opens hers first. A light pink sweater Adam had knitted.
"Adam! I love it! Thank you so much!" Amanda all but shouts.
Mark is next. His sweater is black.
"That's really soft. Thanks, Adam."
Peter is next with a gray sweater.
"Oh wow, this is amazingly detailed. You made this?"
"Yeah. I picked up knitting to reduce stress in college. College didn't last long, but knitting has."
Lawrence is the last to open his sweater. Light blue to match his eyes. Lawrence looks beside him to Adam.
"Thank you. I love y-it."
"You're welcome," Adam whispers. Was Lawrence about to say he loves Adam?
The gift exchange keeps going. Adam got twelve skeins of yarn from Amanda, really cool Star Wars prints and a handmade leather wallet from Mark and Peter, and Lawrence got him a big throw blanket and a book of photography.
"For your napping, reading, and photography."
"Thanks. I love it."
Hours later, after watching Christmas movies, eating cookies, and making fun of Mark for spilling his mug of hot chocolate all over himelf, Amanda has gone to bed and the couple went home. Adam and Lawrence are cuddled on the couch watching reruns of Friends.
"I think I need to get home," Adam says.
"You can stay here. It's already late."
"I don't want to overstay my welcome."
"You won't. Ever. You're always welcome here. For as long as you'd like."
"What about tomorrow? When you go see your daughter?"
"You can stay here and sleep. You know Amanda won't care. She'd be excited about it."
Adam hums and shifts to where his head is on Lawrence's shoulder and his legs are in his lap.
"Is this okay?"
"More than okay," Lawrence answers. His right hand goes to Adam's left thigh and rubs small circles with his thumb. His left arm pulls Adam closer. Adam angles his head up towards Lawrence's neck and he presses soft kisses onto the skin.
"If you don't stop doing that, I'm going to have to take you to bed with me."
"I thought l was going anyway. You'd never allow me to sleep on the couch."
"Yes I would."
"No you wouldn't, sir," Adam teases. He moves his head back to Lawrence's shoulder.
"I hate you."
"Nah."
"Yeah."
"No, I caught you when you opened my present. You were going to say you love me," Adam says lazily as he stares mindlessly at the TV. When he doesn't get a response from Lawrence he continues. "It's okay. I love you too."
Adam lifts himself to see Lawrence's face. It hold confusion and what appears to be joy. Adam lean close and whispers another quick 'I love you' before pressing his lips gently to Lawrence's for their first kiss. Lawrence pulls Adam impossibly closer.
Adam moves to straddle Lawrence's lap. They remain in their embrace, letting it slowly heat.
"Oh God," Lawrence groans. His hands moves to Adam's hips and shoves him onto the couch. He leans forward, elbows on knees, breathing hard. "You little minx."
"You love it."
"I do. Just so you know, everyone loves their presents."
"I know."
"I love mine and I promise to wear it as much as I can."
"You don't have to."
"I want to. Come here," Lawrence says, holding his arms open to Adam. The younger man let's Lawrence pull him close and snuggles into him.
"Does this mean I can finally take you on a date now?"
"Not until after tomorrow."
"I love you."
"I know."
"Don't you dare Han Solo me."
Adam chuckles. The clock strikes twelve and Adam looks up at Lawrence, who was already staring at him.
"Merry Christmas, babe."
"Merry Christmas, darling."
They share a kiss and go back to watching the show. Adam thinks about Christmases of his past and how disappointing and lonely they were.
He thinks about this Christmas and how he has been surrounded by his friends and his-
"Hey, Lawrence, are you my boyfriend now?"
"Yes."
His boyfriend. His heart swells with all the love he feels for Mark, Peter, Amanda, and Lawrence. He felt loved, appreciated, and seen this year. He was grateful for the gifts, but spending time with the ones he loved was more than he could ever ask for.
He might like Christmas after all.

Pairing: Jack Harlow x Actress!OFC
TW: angst
Tumblr media
Shae slid into the back seat of the black SUV that was awaiting her arrival at the airport. As soon as the driver closed the door, she turned to the man who’d been waiting for her, “Hey, Urban.”
“Hey, sis,” He pulled her into a quick hug before letting go and allowing her to put on her seatbelt, “How are you feeling?”
“Nervous.” She absentmindedly twirled one of her braids around her finger, “I think I’d feel better if Jack had decided he wanted me here instead of both our PR teams pushing for me to join since we’re media darlings right now.”
“If it makes you feel any better,” Urban gently squeezed her hand, “he hadn’t mentioned a decision one way or the other and he didn’t seem upset that the choice was taken out of his hands.”
She gave him a rueful smile, “It doesn’t but thank you for trying.”
“He's finishing up his last interview. He might beat us back to the hotel, but if he doesn't, he's given me his spare room key to give to you.”
“Great,” Shae responded as she laid her head on his shoulder.
“Take a few deep breaths, Shae.” Urban tilted his head to rest on top of hers,  “I’m not saying you two don’t have issues to talk and work through, but it seems like he’s in a better space than the last time you saw him.”
“I couldn’t tell by his one-word answers to texts and his consistent decision to facetime me a few minutes before Neelam needs to pull him away for something." Urban sighed at her biting statement and began wringing her hands together, "I know. Uncalled for. I’m just…really nervous and that feels weird. One of the biggest reasons I knew Jack was different was that he felt like home from the moment we met. I don't like feeling uneasy about if he wants me around.”
“That’s understandable, but you do realize you being flippant and sarcastic are really no different than Jack shutting down and refusing to engage with you, right?”
Shae reached up and tousled his hair, “Who knew behind all that hair and weed, there was such a smart man.”
Urban laughed, “Shae, we’ve known each other for almost 4 years now. You shouldn’t be surprised by my brilliance.”
Shae joined in his laughter and then turned her attention toward the passing scenery.
   *****************
A quick text from Jack to Urban as they pulled up to the hotel confirmed that Jack was back in his room. The duo quickly exited the car and were escorted into the hotel amongst flashes of lights from the paparazzi. The concierge made quick work of placing Shae’s luggage on a trolley. He accompanied both Urban and Shae as they entered the elevator.
Once they reached their floor, the pair exited, and the concierge followed behind them. Urban stopped in front of a door and turned to Shae.
“This is me. You and Jack are two more doors down,” he motioned further down the hall, “Here’s the key to your room.”
“Thanks.”
He pulled her into a hug and lowly whispered so he wasn’t overheard, “Just remember. You two love each other. That matters no matter what the outcome is.”
She tightly squeezed him as she replied, “Love you, Urby.”
“Love you too, Shae Shae.”
After Urban entered his room, Shae continued her trek to the room she'd be sharing with Jack. She swiftly knocked on the door to warn him that she was about to enter before she used the key. She entered the room to find Jack sitting on the couch, talking on the phone. He nodded towards her in acknowledgment as he continued his conversation.
Shae quietly instructed the concierge to leave her bags by the door. He transferred them off the trolley and she slid him a tip before softly closing the door behind him.
As soon as the door closed, a wave of uncertainty washed over Shae, who elected to awkwardly stand by the door as Jack wrapped up his phone call.
“Okay. Got it,” Jack nodded even though Neelam couldn’t see him on the other end of the line, “We’ll be downstairs by 6 since the reservation is at 7. Bye.”
He tossed the phone on the couch and stood to greet Shae. He resisted the urge to move to hug her by sticking his hands in his pocket as he shifted his weight from foot to foot.
“Hey,” Shae delicately greeted.
“Hey.”
Awkward silence wrapped around the pair as they waited for the other person to speak.
“Should w—"  “Did yo—"
Both stopped and stared at one another. Jack motioned for Shae to speak first.
Shae cleared her throat, “I was going to ask if maybe one of us should take a picture and post?”
“Yeah.” Jack ran a hand over his beard, “Uh, you're usually the more lovely dovey one on socials so maybe you post and I reshare?”
“That sounds good.” She reached to pull her phone out of her back pocket. As she unlocked her phone, she asked, “Umm...can I see your Kentucky chain?”
Jack flashed her a grin as he headed toward the bedroom to open the in-suite safe, "Suuuuure.”
She couldn’t help the grin that appeared on her face. She knew by his tone that he was up to no good, “And I don't mean the big one, Jackman Thomas.”
His bark of laughter rang out through the suite as she moved to sit down on the couch. A few minutes later, Jack walked back in and handed her the gold chain with KY initials.
“You know me way too well.”
She laughed as she took the chain from him, “I still maintain that thing is like 3 sizes too big.”
“It’s not,” he defended. “I actually could have gone a couple sizes bigger, but I didn’t want the people to think I was overcompensating for something.”
“Kentucky doesn't even have an attractive state shape!” Shae teased.
He stuck his tongue out at her, “And Tennessee does?”
“Yes, yes it does.”
He shook his head, “Ridiculous.”
She continued laughing as she pulled up Instagram on her phone to shoot a boomerang of her lightly swinging the chain back and forth with Jack’s upper body—sans face—in the background.
"First thing I grab after I touch down other than his di--🤫🤣
Glad to be reunited with my man and rocking his chain. ❤"
She turned around her phone to get his approval and was met with a loud guffaw.
“I can’t wait for all the responses saying I’ve corrupted you,” he jested as he rubbed his hands together.
Shae hit post as she replied, “I meaaaan, I was all sweet and innocent until this boy from Kentucky accidentally grabbed my ass at a party, thinking it was someone he actually knew.”
“Sweet and innocent?” Jack crossed his arms and rose an eyebrow at her, “Pretty sure a sweet and innocent person’s response to an accidental ass grab wouldn’t have been to tell me that it was only fair that you got to return the favor.”
Shae started to defend herself, but he waved her off, “Let the record reflect that I merely smacked your ass. You squeezed when it was your turn.”
“Why waste the opportunity on a smack instead of savoring the moment,” Shae questioned as she threw her hands up in the air.
Both stared at each other and burst out laughing. Shae tried to hand Jack's chain back to him, but he rebuffed her offering.
“Keep it. Even if you hadn't posted it, fans would have questioned why you weren't wearing it since you always do when you're with me.”
Shae’s eyes immediately fell to the floor, avoiding Jack’s gaze, “Right and we need to pretend to be as normal as possible.”
“It’s not just that, okay?” Jack instantaneously recognized the shift in her demeanor and gently reached out to guide her eyes back to his, “We don’t really talk about our relationship to the public a lot. I like when you wear it because it lets the whole world know that you’re mine without me having to say it.”
She gave him a soft smile and offered the chain up to him again, “Put in on me?”
“Of course,” Jack grabbed it from her, and she shifted on the couch so her back was facing him and moved her braids over her shoulder. He fastened the chain and kissed the nape of her neck after he dropped it against her skin, “There.”
She leaned back against him and he wrapped an arm around her. She nuzzled his arm and gently broached, “I'm sorry you didn't get as much time to think things over as you wanted.”
“Don't be.” He kissed the top of her head, “I was overthinking it. I honestly think I wouldn't have had a solid answer until the original day you were supposed to fly out and that would have depended on what mood I was in when I woke up.”
Shae squeezed his arm, “Sometimes the only way out is through.”
“Yeah.”
Silence stretched between them like a warm blanket, and each tried to hang onto the moment as long as possible, hoping to avoid a return to the awkwardness that had first surrounded them.
Jack eyed the time on his watch and, begrudgingly, broke through the stillness.
“We should probably get ready for dinner.”
She squeezed his arm, “I wish we didn't have to. I hate pap walks.”
“I don't know why. You always end up looking like you belong on a runway.” Jack chuckled, “Me, on the other hand...”
Shae giggled, “You make me look better.”
“I don't think that's how it works.”
“It does!” Shea argued. “You're a giant so I look smaller. You're also pale as fuck so it makes my skin pop more than normal under the flashes.”
“So basically, I'm a hideous ogre and should be grateful you've settled for me?” Jack deadpanned. “Got it.”
“Baby, no. That’s not what I meant,” she quickly assured him as she turned around to look at him. She found him with a smirk on his face, trying to hold back a laugh. She lightly smacked his arm, “Jackman! That’s not funny. I was about to feel so bad.”
Jack couldn’t respond because he was laughing so hard that he was wheezing. She eventually joined in. Neither one could contain themselves. When one would calm down, they would look at one another and break into another fit of laughter.
Eventually, both of their laughter subsided. Jack intertwined his hand with hers, "I missed you."
"I missed you too," she offered up with a soft smile before she asked, "So…who's showering first?"
“Oh…um…” Jack detangled his hand from Shae’s, “Urban didn’t tell you?”
Shea tilted her head at the hesitance in his tone, “Since I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m going to have to assume the answer is no.”
“Uh…” Jack scratched the back of his neck. “I…uh…I had it arranged so that every hotel we’re staying in while you're here is connected suites. That way we don't have to worry about anyone catching that we're in separate rooms and we can both have our own spaces.”
“Or more accurately so we have our own beds because you can’t stand the thought of sleeping next to each other,” Shea stood and crossed her arms.
Jack shook his head as he stood up, “Don’t put words in my mouth. We’ve never had problems in the bedroom. It’s the other rooms we can’t seem to handle.”
“Right,” Shae gritted out through clenched teeth.
“Shae, I sh—"
“It’s fine, Jackman.” She turned to survey the rest of the room and found a door next to the kitchen area. She nodded toward it, “I’m assuming the door on the other side is already open?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. He began to move toward the main door, “Here, let me get your bags a-“
She blocked his path, “Don’t bother. I’ve got it.”
He backed off and watched as she grabbed her backpack and stiffly wheeled both of her suitcases to the adjoining room door. She yanked it open and pushed the cases through. She walked into the room and turned to address Jack, “I heard you say we needed to be in the lobby at 6?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ll be back on this side at 5:50.”
Before he could respond, Shae slammed the door.
As he heard the lock engage, a frustrated sigh fell from his lips.
   *****************
An hour and a half later, Jack found himself seated in the kitchen area, waiting for Shea to make her entrance. He stood when he heard the door open.
He looked Shae up and down, taking in her sage green dress and the gold jewelry she’d chosen to compliment his chain.
He offered up an earnest, “You look nice.”
Shae adjusted her purse strap on her shoulder and returned a curt, “Thank you.”
He stuck his hands in his jeans pockets, "Shae, maybe we should cancel. We could order in.”
She smoothed her hands over her dress, “The whole point of me being here is for both of us to soak up as much of the good publicity rightly owed to us. That doesn’t happen if we’re not visible.”
Jack visually bristled and spat, “I thought the point of you being here was for us to try to figure things out.”
“I thought that too until I walked into you arraigning a completely different suite for me to stay in.” She shook her head as a hollow laugh slipped out, “The truly hilarious part is that this could have actually been a nice gesture. If you had asked me if I wanted that or even just, did it for the first few hotels just to make sure I didn’t feel pressured to be in your presence.”
She looked away from him, “I don't know why I'm surprised. This is ridiculously on-brand for you.”
“You know what?” Jack questioned as he felt the tension in his shoulders rise. “You’re right. It is on brand for me to try to do something decent and for you to completely dismiss it because I didn’t do it the way you thought it should be done.”
Her head whipped back around to meet his gaze, “Excuse me?”
“You heard exactly what I said,” he scoffed, “but I’ll gladly repeat it for you.”
“That’s an interesting perspective, honey. Though I think it’s more accurate to say that you do what’s best for you,” Shae reached out and poked his chest with her finger. “and then try to justify that it was actually what was best for me or—even better—for us.”
Jack opened his mouth to argue but his phone rang, cutting off his rebuttal.
“That’s probably Neelam wondering where we are.”
“I can always count on someone on your team to bail you out of having hard conversations,” Shae sneered.
“As opposed to you just deciding you just deciding in the middle of a conversation that you don’t like how it’s going and deciding you’re done having it?” Jack snapped back.
“That’s not fair!”
He quirked an eyebrow at her, “It isn’t?”
Shae grimaced at the flippantness of his tone, “You can’t pretend that how I acted after seeing those pictures is how I usually handle our issues.”
“Oh, baby, I assure you I’m not pretending anything.”
“You are such a da-“
A knock on the door cut Shae off.
The pair stared each other down as they breathed in sync.
“We both know that’s Neelam.” He looked her up and down, contempt saturating his gaze,  “Do you want to finish that sentence before I open the door?”
She pushed past him and stormed over to the door, swinging it open wide, "Sorry about that. We lost track of time arguing. What else is new, right?”
Neelam’s eyes bounced between the two as she took in Shae’s stiff smile and Jack leaning against the small kitchen table, looking as if he was ready to split the thing in half.
She slowly maneuvered her way past Shea and into the room, closing the door behind her before she gently broached, “Do I need to push back the reservation?”
“Nope, Shae answered, popping the ‘p.’ “I’m an award-winning actress and he’s…decent. We can fake it.”
“Nice, sweetheart, really fucking nice,” Jack chided.
She shrugged as she turned to him with a big smile, “Just calling it as I see it, darling.”
Neelam settles her gaze on the rapper, “Jack?”
“No need to push it back.” He joined Shae by the door and grabbed her hand, “The sooner we get this over with, the better.”
“Look at that,” she mocked, “Something the both of us can agree on.”
He rolled his eyes before he looked down at her, “Progress.”
Neelam cleared her throat, and both sets of eyes turned to her, “You two know we can cancel tonight, right? Paps got Shae coming into the hotel and she posted to her stories, so everyone knows the two of you are together. Jack’s show tomorrow will give plenty of opportunities for pictures of you two together.”
“We’re fine, Neelam.” He peered back down at Shae, “After all, the whole point of her being here is for people to see us, right?”
“Right,” the actress replied as she smiled brightly at Neelam even though it didn’t quite meet her eyes, “Let’s see how good our boy is at improv.”
Neelam hesitantly trailed behind the couple after they exited the room. As they meandered toward the elevators, she sent up a quick prayer, hoping that the evening didn’t end in a media disaster.

Thanks for requesting Anon <3
“Camp Mark- iplier” you mumbled to yourself looking at the sign near the entrance to the camp you'd be staying at for the next couple of months.
You slowly walked into the camp taking in your surroundings. It was a lovely forest, but you always did like nature. That's why you took this job, being a camp counselor can’t be too bad. It paid well and you'd have another counselor to help you out. Funny enough you're pretty sure his name is Mark too.
You shrugged and walked towards the cabins, the owner of the camp said your luggage should be waiting for you in the mess hall.
Surprisingly the cabins looked nice, for well, cabins. They were a decent size and could hold a few campers in them each, though your cabin was excellent. It supposedly had good internet, wifi, and even a smart t.v!!!
Though it was a little weird, you didn't complain, not when it was free for you. You let yourself smile, as you walked past the cabins and into the mess hall.
The mess hall itself was a good size, with an unseen kitchen in the back, but that's not what caught your attention. No, what did that was the hot guy sitting at a table looking at some paperwork.
He looked up with a smile and your heart stopped.
How was it possible for someone to be this cute? His black hair was fluffy and looked so soft, and his eyes which were a warm brown felt so inviting. The toned muscles you could see from under the khaki shorts and shirt were making your face heat up a bit.
“Well, Howdy there friend. I’m assuming you're my co-counselor?” He spoke with a slight accent. You nodded and walked over to him, so this was Mark.
“Uh, yeah that's me. It's nice to meet you.” He stood up quickly and stuck his hand out,
“The pleasure is all mine Darlin, hopefully, the trip up here wasn't too bad for you?” you shook his hand as he spoke. You shook your head answering his question,
“No, not at all just kinda tired.” he nodded, with a soft smile.
“Understandable, it is a very long ride up here. How bout we get you settled in Darlin?” he replied looking over to where your luggage was. You nodded,
“I’d love that.” he walked over to your luggage and picked up the 2 suitcases you had there, leaving a backpack for you. You slung the backpack over your shoulder and watched as Mark effortlessly carried the luggage over to your cabin.
“You know I could have carried one of my suitcases, you didn't have to.” You stated as you neared your cabin, he shook his head and replied,
“I know you could have, but then I wanted to. You deserve some rest after the long trip.” He smiled and opened the door to your cabin, holding the door open for you with his foot.
You gasped as you looked around the cozy cabin. It was a decent size and had a comfortable-looking bed and surprisingly a nice t.v. There were also a few unlit candles and books lying around.
“Oh my god Mark, this is amazing,” you started looking around, as he placed your suitcases on your bed.
“I’m glad you like it, I hope you like the candles and books. The person I bought them from said they were the best for positivity and stuff like that.” He said, his face turning red.
You whipped your head to look at him,
“You did all of this for me?” he nodded yes, “ Oh Mark you didn’t have to, this is all so amazing.” You walked over to the man and took ahold of his hands in yours,
“Thank you, This means a lot to me.” you finished.
Mark flashed his heart-warming smile and brought your hands to his lips placing a soft kiss on your knuckles.
“It’s no problem Darlin, I had to get the best for the best person.” He started holding your hands, your face now turning red.
Before you could reply he let go of your hands after placing another kiss on them,
“Well, I’ll let you get settled in now. We can talk some more tomorrow.” He said, you smiled.
“Get some rest Mark, I’ll be here if you need me,” you replied. He tipped his hat at you as he left.
You watched him leave with a giddy smile on your lips. You fell into your new bed and giggled a little to yourself.
You had a feeling you would like the next couple of months.

Flight Ticket Booking on a Shoestring Budget: Thrifty Travel Tips
In an era where wanderlust is a prevalent sensation and travel is considered an essential part of life, finding budget-friendly flight tickets has become an art form. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or a newbie adventurer, the quest for affordable airfare is always on the agenda. But fear not, as we unveil a treasure trove of thrifty travel tips to help you book your next flight without breaking the bank.
For more features please visit https://trailtravelz.com/
Plan Ahead, Book Early: The early bird gets the worm, and the early booker gets the deal. Booking your flight tickets well in advance often comes with significant savings. Airlines tend to offer lower prices for tickets booked months before the departure date. Keep an eye out for flash sales and promotions for even better deals.
Be Flexible with Dates and Destinations: Flexibility is key when hunting for budget-friendly flights. Consider traveling during off-peak seasons or mid-week when ticket prices are typically lower. Additionally, exploring alternative airports and nearby destinations can lead to substantial savings. Websites like Skyscanner and Google Flights offer flexible date options to help you find the cheapest fares.
Set Price Alerts: Stay ahead of the game by setting up price alerts on various booking platforms. These alerts notify you when there's a drop in prices for your desired route, allowing you to snag the best deals as soon as they become available. Some platforms even offer insights into price trends, helping you determine the optimal time to book.
Use Airline Rewards Programs: Make the most of frequent flyer programs and airline loyalty schemes to earn points and miles with every flight. Accumulated points can be redeemed for discounted or even free flights in the future. Additionally, co-branded credit cards often come with sign-up bonuses and perks such as free checked bags and priority boarding.
Opt for Budget Airlines: While luxury carriers offer comfort and convenience, budget airlines are the go-to option for travelers on a tight budget. These airlines offer no-frills flights at significantly lower prices, allowing you to allocate more of your budget to experiences at your destination. Just be mindful of additional fees for amenities like baggage and seat selection.
Clear Your Browser Cookies: Ever noticed how flight prices seem to magically increase after multiple searches? This phenomenon, known as dynamic pricing, can be circumvented by clearing your browser cookies or using incognito mode. By doing so, you prevent airlines from tracking your search history and potentially hiking up prices based on demand.
Consider Alternative Routes and Layovers: Embrace the scenic route by opting for flights with layovers or connecting flights. While direct flights may be more convenient, they often come with a higher price tag. By being open to layovers, you can discover new cities en route to your destination while saving money on airfare.
Bundle Up with Packages: Take advantage of travel packages that bundle flights, accommodation, and activities together. These package deals often offer significant discounts compared to booking each component separately. Websites like Expedia and Travelocity specialize in curating affordable travel packages tailored to your preferences.
Travel Light: Cut down on baggage fees by packing smart and traveling light. Stick to carry-on luggage whenever possible to avoid additional charges for checked bags. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the airline's baggage policy and weight restrictions to prevent any surprises at the check-in counter.
Be Ready to Jump on Deals: Finally, when you stumble upon a stellar deal, don't hesitate to book it immediately. Flight prices are highly volatile and can change within minutes. By acting fast and seizing the opportunity, you can secure the best possible price for your flight tickets.
In conclusion, scoring affordable flight tickets requires a combination of strategy, flexibility, and savvy planning. By implementing these thrifty travel tips, you can embark on your next adventure without draining your bank account. Remember, the journey begins the moment you book your ticket, so why not make it a budget-friendly one?

Recognizing this, the future of travel protection lies in personalized coverage solutions tailored to the unique needs and preferences of individual travelers. Online platforms empower travelers to customize their insurance policies by selecting specific coverage options, deductibles, and limits that align with their travel plans and risk profiles. Whether it's comprehensive coverage for a family vacation or specialized coverage for adventure sports enthusiasts, travelers can find the perfect insurance solution to suit their needs.
3. Integration with Travel Services
Another exciting development in the future of travel insurance is the integration of insurance services with other travel-related platforms and services. Online travel agencies, booking platforms, and airlines are increasingly offering travel insurance as part of their service offerings, providing travelers with a seamless and integrated experience. This integration allows travelers to purchase insurance at the point of booking their flights or accommodations, simplifying the process and ensuring comprehensive coverage from start to finish.
4. Enhanced Customer Support and Assistance
As technology continues to advance, the future of travel insurance will prioritize enhanced customer support and assistance for travelers. Online platforms are leveraging chatbots, virtual assistants, and other digital tools to provide round-the-clock support and guidance to travelers throughout their journey. Whether it's answering questions about coverage options, assisting with claims processing, or providing emergency assistance services, travelers can rely on digital platforms to deliver timely and personalized support whenever they need it.
5. Integration of Emerging Technologies
Looking ahead, emerging technologies such as blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), and big data analytics are poised to revolutionize the travel insurance industry. Blockchain technology, for example, offers enhanced security and transparency for policy issuance and claims processing, reducing fraud and improving trust between insurers and policyholders. IoT devices such as wearables and smart luggage tags can provide real-time data on traveler behavior and location, enabling insurers to offer more accurate risk assessments and personalized pricing.
As we embark on this journey into the future of travel protection, one thing is clear: the digital revolution is reshaping the way we think about and experience travel insurance. By embracing the convenience, customization, and innovation offered by online platforms, travelers can enjoy greater peace of mind and security on their journeys. Whether it's purchasing coverage for a weekend getaway or a long-term adventure, buying travel insurance online is the smart choice for modern travelers seeking comprehensive protection and peace of mind.
With these bold advancements and innovations, the future of travel insurance is indeed promising. By embracing the digital revolution and harnessing the power of technology, travelers can ensure they are adequately protected against the uncertainties of travel, allowing them to explore the world with confidence and peace of mind.
6. Dynamic Pricing Models
One of the most significant developments in the future of travel insurance is the adoption of dynamic pricing models. Instead of fixed premiums, insurers are exploring dynamic pricing based on real-time data and risk assessments. Factors such as travel destination, duration, time of booking, and even weather forecasts can influence insurance premiums, allowing insurers to offer more competitive pricing and tailored coverage options to travelers.
7. Remote Medical Assistance Services
With the increasing popularity of remote and off-the-beaten-path destinations, travelers may find themselves in situations where access to medical facilities is limited. To address this challenge, the future of travel insurance includes remote medical assistance services. Through telemedicine and virtual consultations, travelers can receive medical advice and assistance from qualified healthcare professionals, even in remote locations. This ensures prompt and reliable medical support when needed, enhancing the overall safety and well-being of travelers.
8. Multi-Trip and Annual Coverage Plans
In response to the growing trend of frequent travelers, insurance providers are offering multi-trip and annual coverage plans. These plans are designed for individuals who travel frequently throughout the year, providing continuous coverage for multiple trips without the need to purchase separate policies each time. Multi-trip and annual coverage plans offer convenience and cost savings for frequent travelers, allowing them to focus on their adventures without worrying about insurance coverage.
9. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
As online transactions become the norm, ensuring cybersecurity and data protection is paramount for travel insurance providers. The future of travel insurance involves robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive customer information and prevent data breaches. Insurers are investing in advanced encryption technologies, secure payment gateways, and proactive monitoring systems to protect against cyber threats and ensure the privacy and security of customer data.
10. Green and Sustainable Travel Insurance
With growing concerns about environmental sustainability, travelers are increasingly seeking eco-friendly and sustainable travel options. In response, some insurance providers are offering green and sustainable travel insurance policies. These policies may include coverage for eco-friendly accommodations, carbon offset programs, and environmentally responsible activities. By choosing green travel insurance, travelers can minimize their environmental footprint and contribute to sustainable tourism practices.
Conclusion: Embracing Innovation for a Secure and Seamless Travel Experience
As we look to the future, the landscape of travel insurance is evolving to meet the changing needs and expectations of travellers. From digitalization and dynamic pricing to remote medical assistance and sustainable initiatives, the future of travel insurance is characterized by innovation, convenience, and customer-centricity. By embracing these advancements, travellers can enjoy a secure and seamless travel experience, knowing that they are protected against unforeseen risks and uncertainties wherever their adventures take them.
