Do you get the impression the live action is treating us like utter morons?? Like I thought that making it aimed at an older audience would open the doors for more subtle story telling, but no, they're just using monologues to tell us eveything! Like in the second episode Katara's like 'oh his power isn't that he's the avatar, it's that he ~connects~ to people'. Girl we're not idiots we can see that!! And the first episode with Aang's goddawful 'I don't want this responsibility' monologue
THIS, YES. The word that keeps coming to mind is definitely "subtlety". The show for literal children? Had it. The remake for adults? Not so much.

Gotta write a production report for two songs we recorded and I'm gonna have to do at least a third of it for a group of 6 after having done about half of the recording and editing work for one of these two projects...all that cause I still haven't found an internship so I can't just say : do it without me.
It's a little exhausting. I know they will work if I really push them but they'll do it super late and I'll have to revise it when I get back home from the small concert I've allowed myself to go instead of my portuguese lesson (brazilian artist so it's all good my teacher said, I still feel bad) and I'll have to run around tomorrow morning to print it and I'll assume the cost again.
It's...yeah it's exhausting. And my thesis is so far behind, and I still have no internship. I wanna keep strong but man that diploma is slipping away from me. I'm not even sure I have good enough grades at my exams now !

Many, many thanks to all of you who participated in Elder Cats Appreciation Week! I cannot express the extent of my appreciation for those of you who participated, both big and small, every day or just one or two. It was wonderful to see a variety of new content and positivity for the older cats, and look at all the different ways you all contributed. This was so much fun and I hope to do this again sometime in the future!
I do encourage you that, in spite of the appreciation week being over, to continue playing with these characters and including them in your stories and HCs and fun - to reflect on why they are often left out/reduced to singular and otherwise flat roles/antagonized either due to their inherent age, or argued younger because they’re more “well liked” over others. At the end of the day, the goal of this week was to shed some light and appreciation on characters that are often neglected in fandom, and the best way to continue that work is to open yourself further to those you may not otherwise consider. Even just a little bit. That’s how we continue to broaden our horizons.
Happy days to all <3

The fact that cigarette companies exist is fucking dystopian and a sign of the failure of capitalism as an ideology- cigarettes are a product that undeniably caused a bunch of different cancers, we've all seen the tobacco death stats on the back of cig cartons smokers have, and yet. And yet, for some reason instead of saying "zero businesses should be selling cancer causing products to their customers, certainly not when those cancer causing products are so dangerous even the smoke of the product causes cancers in the people around smokers. Businesses have zero right to cause a massive health crisis in the population like this when their only function is to make money- you cannot give people cancer for profit."
Like you'd assume giving people cancer for money would be some kind of fucked dystopian novel that'd get ripped on for being way too over the top and unrealistic but no, we literally live in such a morally bankrupt capitalist brain rotted society that we think selling cancer is fine, we won't do anything about a set of companies that exist solely to get customers addicted to their highly dangerous product for profit. Instead we'll act like it's smokers who need to take responsibility for the industry that's exploiting them. Fucking disgusting if you ask me, that we're more okay with companies giving people cancer than we are with governments giving people welfare.

hmm. this is the second time i've made a post where i simplify and properly space my dni to make it easier to read and understand, and then link to that in my pinned post right in front of my non-simplified dni. and this is the second time the link has stopped working, at least for me.
