Janus, arrives to the party visibly drunk and proceeds to be an enormous bitch to everyone until he gets slapped in the face: I can’t believe they don’t invite us to more events.
Remus, his shoes covered in human excrement: they don’t know what their missing.

Do you remember episode 12, season 3 of Xiaolin Showdown when Chase was trapped on that machine thing that was brushing butter or whatever all over his chest? Well, hypothetically speaking if First walked in on that situation, how’d he react?
Ok I cackled unreasonably loud at this ask
listen i rewatched the episode (for science) and honestly the unexpected fanservice torture dungeon happened much differently than i remembered lol (also how fucked up is that right after Jack straigth up murked older monks?? wild)
but anyway basically what First Ninja saw
ive been on internet too long not to see all of it now
congrats Jack you managed to traumatize a 800 year old ghost.

Another anecdote from "Story of a Soul"!
St. Thérèse of Lisieux cartoons all October!
JOKE-OGRAPHY:
1. This cartoon is based directly on a passage from "Story of a Soul", St. Thérèse's autobiography. In this part, she recalls late walks home from her uncle's house with her father. The text of the cartoon is lightly paraphrased, but I feel maintains the same sentiment as in the book.
2. Some of you may already know this, but both of St. Thérèse's parents are also saints: Sts. Louis Martin and Marie-Azélie Guérin. They were canonized fairly recently (2015), and they're the first and (so far) only couple to ever be canonized together. Interestingly, before they met, they each tried and failed to enter religious life. Despite that failure, they passed their religious devotion onto their five surviving daughters, who all ended up becoming nuns.
3. Not to get all mushy, but I find this stargazing anecdote especially moving. It's a perfect metaphor for how these parents accepted their earthly devotions, freeing their children to throw their heads back and seek the divine.

When you have zero interest in canon but the fanfiction is really good.
That’s how I feel about Christianity. Like, no hate, but it just isn’t for me. And yet I am a huge fan of the gay Bible fanfics known as Good Omens and Jesus Christ Superstar.

"Panagia, from the height of her glory, is heard to say to all Christians who are tempted here: 'Faithful children of the heavenly Father, have strength. What do you fear? Death? But death is the gateway to the new life. Here on high where I am there is a new life, which no one on earth could even begin to imagine. This life is preordained for those who will live with faith and virtue. Here there is no partiality. My Son is the just Judge. When I was below on the earth, I heard voices that blessed me, for I was made worthy to become His Mother, and He said that, in the cycle of blessedness, it would not be me alone who gives Him birth, but for all those who hear Him and keep His word. For Christ is born spiritually in every soul who believes in Him and worships Him as the only Savior. 'Yea of a truth, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.' (Luke 11:28) Therefore, I invite you all to the glory of Heaven'."

“That’s the fun part—how much you get to externalize internal darkness in a safe way and bring in things that are from your nightmares. Such as Joel’s capacity for violence, and being good at it. I didn’t get into any physical fights growing up, and definitely not as an adult. Violence scares me tremendously. Is it the fear of violence in general? Is it the fear of your own violence?” - PEDRO PASCAL for WIRED (January 2023)

*remembers that jim told a starfleet admiral that “if there’s a chance that spock has an eternal soul, then it’s my responsibility. as surely as if it were my very own” and later in the movie he told spock’s dad that it was worth it to sacrifice his career, ship, and son for spock, since “if i hadn’t tried, the cost would have been my very soul”* ok time to go kill now
