...These boots are made for walkin'
And that's just what they'll do,
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you...
Nancy Sinatra from way back in 1966. A brilliant record that I have wanted to use for a post for so long but various posts have never seemed right, at long last though I’ve got my favourite boots on an I’ve been stomping!
I was working away from home up in the North East and thought it would be nice to head out whilst the weather was good. I first went to see Anthony Gormley’s Angel of the North just outside Gateshead, I’d like to think I was the most angelic looking one though haha!
Next up I headed toward the beach at South Shields, I did stop off to fill up with fuel on the way though which I had never done before whilst in girl mode. The beach was fairly quiet so I made my way with an occasional smile and wave for the scattering of joggers and people out on dog walking duty.
Last up was a quick stop to check out an impressive local erection... Souter lighthouse which was looking great after a recent coat of paint. I was looking a bit windswept by now so I thought that it was time to head home but I really enjoyed my little adventure!!
Some more kinda crappy mobile pics of my trip to Souter Lighthouse in Tyne & Wear, UK. I had such a brilliant time visiting this place - especially cool to find out this was the first purpose-built lighthouse in the country!
Believe it or not, this lighthouse was originally powered by electricity in the 19th Century, but it used an arc circuit instead of a filament bulb which is so cool! They actually turned the light on whilst I was there, but I missed the foghorn which had been sounded the previous day.
Today’s Flickr photo with the most hits is one taken of Souter lighthouse, on Tyneside. It was the world’s first lighthouse designed to be powered by an electric light.

Visiting a lighthouse, using planners, and staying motivated
New blog post!
Well, it’s the middle of February so that means I’m still plugging away at my goal-oriented planning.
From the photo above you can see that I have been outside and getting fresh air. Last weekend Mister Pick and I took Daisy to Souter Lighthouse which was interesting even though Daisy acted up and tried to jump on every dog and human that came close to her. (Goldendoodles are insane, I tell you.)
So I was 100% living my best life on Monday. I went and saw three lighthouses in one day, and walked along some of the most glorious coast England has to offer.
