Ummmm uhhhh um Among Us?

Concepts and vis dev on posters and ship.

Actually trying to work on my comic so have some older stuff I found while going through my files.

The entire premise is haha it’s among us, imposter sus, and then after the first act becomes a serious sci fi horror following a character corruption arc.

I was reading a Farscape fic, and the characters had to move from tier 9 to tier 10. And I don't know why it never occurred to me before but with all the running around Moya that the crew does, we never see any stairs. They're running through a hallway, and they say "I'll meet you on tier x", and then they meet up there without any stairs in between. Of course in the real world they just didn't build that type of set, but it's more fun to imagine the in universe implications.

Maybe Moya does have stairs that we just never see. She is a huge ship after all, and even with all the running around I doubt we've seen everything. Maybe our crew runs through the hallway, comm each other when they're about to reach the stairs, and the other person replies when they run down the stairs. Or maybe since she's a living ship and they grow according to the needs of the passengers, she grows stairs at convenient times then reabsorbs them.

There are ladders that span 2 tiers, usually so the crew can unplug cables or plug new cables in. They usually are short ladders, so they definitely don't reach very many tiers. Maybe all the running around is to get to the rooms that have ladders in them so they can quickly get down then head to the next ladder room. I imagine someone who grew up on the leviathan would know the whole ladder system intuitively, while most people might have some common routes memorized.

A lot of the material is kept in crates, and pushed around like in Crackers Don't Matter. Ladders alone would be incredibly inefficient, so perhaps there's a series of ramps, and when we see characters running they are on a slight slope. I think given the curve of the hallways these ramps could be in the front of the ship, with some more on the side. They probably spiral in on themselves, and you have to keep turning back on yourself to get up and down.

My favorite idea is a combo of ramps and ladders, where if they are near a ladder they will use it, otherwise they'll use the ramps because it is very easy to get lost in the corridors. The growing stairs idea is fun too, but if something went wrong with Moya, as it often does, it would make it really difficult to get around. It would be very fun to play hide and seek on a Leviathan.

There should be more visibly bristling with weaponry.

Vehicles such as spaceships are still tricky for me but I needed to get this out of my head. This is my first concept art of an Orion Drive spacecraft. The Orion Drive is a spacecraft propulsion system conceived during the 1960s and involves the utilization of nuclear bombs to move spacecraft forward. Here's a video that summarizes this system and it's history: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ntizB4Uc_0 The neat thing about this drive is that can be constructed with current technology and potentially reach speeds up to 9-11% the speed of light.

My design has several differences from the original concept. For one, it is significantly larger so to house several components such as a nuclear reactor (for creation propulsion bombs), rotating habitable drum, and large water reserves for cooling, radiation shielding, etc. Another difference is it has additional propulsion systems at the front and on it's side for deceleration and maneuvering respectively. Additionally, it as electric generators at the base of the shock absorbers so it can capture some of the force created by the propulsion and produce electricity.

I like to think of this as "Nuclear Steampunk" and it uses nuclear energy, electricity, and water, to power its technology. I'll need to do more research to refine this design (like seeing if it needs external thermal radiators) but this gives the base idea and it's one I might use in one of my projects. For now I'm going back to creature/alien design.

There should be a fanmade "special edition" of Star Trek: The Next Generation that de-TMP-fies it: replaces all of the Movie models with more aesthetically-consistent ones.

Swap the Oberths for New Orleans, the Mirandas with Nebulas or Californias, the Excelsiors with Ambassadors, change the K'Vort to an original design instead of just having it be a giant bird of prey...

If you wanted to get really crazy, give all the minor races their own unique original ship designs instead of just sticking more greeblies on the smuggler ship from Search for Spock or rotating through the same four or five generic star destroyer-y models that sometimes don't even have warp nacelles.
