Keen to share this new Spyro fangame in development by Bunbaroness!

She refers to the game as "Spaghetti Spyro." Bunn, known for the incredible Spyro Reignited Trilogy Omniswapper, has dedicated several years to developing this fangame in Unreal Engine 4.

The main goal is to create a foundation for fans to develop their own fangames, as the project will be open source once released. Right now, Bunn is focusing on the engine's detailed features, such as swimming, power-ups, and various breath abilities from all the Spyro games, including Legend of Spyro. This ensures that fans will have the tools they need to create their own games from this foundation.

If you wonder why this is a thing it's because my partner decided to just randomly say "glass blue seal 161 of diamonds" in my DMs out of the blue yesterday and then showed me the Balatro mod this came from and I saw this:

Jeez. Shit's been busy these last few months.

So I'm surfing through Discord at the moment to dig up ancient WIP screenies for Deignited. Was mainly looking for dragons (because I really need to show them off elsewhere at some point), but then I stumbled across something that might be worth ranting about.

So that was Crazy Ed at some point, it's been nearly two and a half years so I can't remember if this was before vert painting or a backup copy that hadn't been coloured yet.

What he lacked in difficulty to paint (apart from his glasses; man I wish 2.79 let you fiddle around with alpha in vert colours, because vert painting in 2.8 onwards is a goddamn chore), he made up for with some...interesting weight painting in his vanilla Reignited model.

So here's a screenie of one of his upperarm bones. Notice how his elbow's rigged to them, but not the sleeve.

And here's his sleeve bone, which has the opposite problem.

Suffice to say, the lack of feathering across both the elbow and sleeve causes some interesting deformation to happen.

It's times like these where I can't fully rely on weight transfer to get most of the work done. It's not like I don't already have to experiment with juggling weights and feathering, but I need to do a lot more of it when this happens.

Crazy Ed's tail gets really curvy, which posed problems I also faced with dragons like Mudada that can be summed up as "sometimes, less is not more." I try to skimp out on loops around bones whenever I can, but occasionally the best option is to add more tris.

And thus, he could no longer follow my usual tactic of one loop for every two tail bones.

I'll show off what he looks like ingame once I get off my arse and work on my collection of Reignited save files. Really wish the homeworld-bound NPCs in YOTD didn't disappear forever after progressing to the next world (or completing their levels, in Midnight Mountain's case).

spyro textures from the usa version of ssa (dolphin texture dumping) the body texture is tex1_256x128_m_67a4b83ff3ab4151_14 and the wing is tex1_256x128_m_c28f3266c2263d5b_14_arb edit the textures and place them in the ssa usa folder (dolphin emulator > load > textures > SSPE52) names may vary in the european version of ssa (i haven't checked) and the names are not the same in ssa to giants
