WASTING TIME? ノ EKKO
pairing: alternative!ekko x fem!reader
blurb — theme/content: fluff. "angst" if you squint? idk. reader has fomo (fear of missing out) implied. it's ekko from s2 ep7. ꒰ word count: 960 ꒱

"babe?..." you said as appeared on ekko's room door, seeing him sat in front of his desk with a million papers above, his inventor plan of attack as he liked to call. he was resting his face in one of his hands while his elbows were resting on the table and its papers.
"hm? yes miss? whatcha need?" he rubbed his eyes and mumbled without looking at you, from far away you could notice a little smile appearing on his face, making yourself smile too knowing that his one it was because of your presence. it was like this since your relationship started, being on the same tune, contagious.
"you done? i mean... doesn't look very done to me, but..." you replied while getting steps closer to his desk, contouring his body just to being up behind him, leaning down to put support your hands on his shoulders. "just checkin' you up.”
"ah, i think i am really on the final steps to conclude this... am only securing it all goes fine," ekko muttered concentrated doing some more scribbles, at the same time using his left hand to catch one of yours from his shoulders, bringing it closer to his face so he could kiss the inner palm of your hand, making you smile. "besides... why the shawty is awakened this hour?”
"aah i- i missed you on the bed, the usual..." you yawned lazily and leaned all your body on his, being with your chin above his head and arms wrapped around his neck. his body heat was radiating and smelling so good as he took a bath some minutes before, making you sniff his hair just to feel the loveable coconut shampoo smell that you buyed for him.
“i am managing my time very well lately and the project is in the dead end, this time it's the only last time i'll be overworking, ‘kay?” he giggled at your sniffing on his hair, at this point it turned out to become common you doing this, it was cute; lifting his head to look at you, endened giving you free access to kiss his forehead, as you should and did.
“i know… i just can't sleep because of that thing,” you pointed out with your chin the blackboard on the wall with various drawings about this new invention. “i don't want to not be here when you finish this…,” you sighed, catching a chair nearby and sitting really close at ekko's side.
your sudden change from a tired expression to a worried and sadden one was not missed by him, who quickly dropped his pencil at the desk and turned his torso to look at you directly with those frowned big eyes so sweet of him. “babe? what is wrong? you- you don't need to worry about that.”
“nah… just some bullshits passing through my mind… i'm tired, only that.” you looked away from his gaze and scratched your forehead, squirming on the chair a little to see if it could make you comfortable to talk about the subject. it wasn't helping, you're not the kind of person who likes to talk about serious things like this. always praying and hoping for better days, trying to ignore the rocks life throws at you, till you reach the limit and suddenly explodes as a tiny thing goes wrong. like this you wouldn’t worry anyone but only yourself.
“hey, i know when something is wrong with you…” but of course he knew, ekko being your best friend who turn out to be your boyfriend, always being a great observant to notice every detail of you, and care about each one of them. that's why it was so easy for you to fall for him.
“it's that thing we talked about before?” he asked while softly catched your chin with one of his hands to make you lock eyes with him, he looked so worried and still so caringly about you, it made your butterflies on the stomach do flips. “y-yeah… it's making me anxious…”
“hey, you’re not- you don't lose anything not being here when i finish this…,” he fixed his posture on the chair, quickly catching your hand and intertwining your fingers. “i promised you that everything that i create, you will be the first eyes besides mine that will appreciate it when finished. just because it's not your thang to understand inventions, or not being here when i end those things… doesn't mean you're less of a girlfriend or bad person.”
ekko was so damn comprehensible with everyone, and mainly you, that it made you heart aches everytime you had every time you had a moment of low self-esteem and your anxiety spoke louder. but he was always so careful and always knew what to say to calm and reassure you, how can you not love him?
“and not to forget too, you're never gonna not be enough for me, never. you heard me?” you felt that warm and asphyxiating feeling gathering on your throat wanting to cry but holded enough and only sighed tired, giving him an agreeing smile. “i know… i'm sorry for-”
“don't need to apologize babe, i understand you…” he pulled you to make you sit on his lap, hugging your waist, making you feel safe. “life is stressing me out these days ekko, but… you make it better,” you mumbled on his neck, hugging him back and closing your eyes.
“i love you” he replied, by the proximity you could know and feel that he was smiling. “i love you more” and now you too.
(...)
after spending some minutes staying like this you happened to start sleeping, there, on ekko’s arms and lap while he continued finishing his invention, feeling safe, loved and enough.

Edgeworth's therapist suggests he tries to be more social, so he asks Maya to dinner.
[ao3 link]
He’d been going to therapy for several years.
Unpacking the trauma left behind by what happened to his father and then being raised by his father’s killer would still take plenty more years, but Edgeworth was proud of himself for coming as far as he had.
His therapist was helping him dissect and understand what Manfred von Karma had put him through, and she was doing her best to help lessen the effects that earthquakes and elevators had on his heart and mind. There was no way he’d ever react completely rationally during an earthquake, but he was happy to have gotten past the point where he’d collapse to the ground and be inconsolable for an embarrassing amount of time.
Dr. Endens’ most recent suggestions for Edgeworth were the most challenging he’d faced in a while: getting out and socializing more. Everyone knew he was a workaholic - he was passionate about his work and very good at it, and being Chief Prosecutor wasn’t something he could just turn off at five o’clock. But she was right, of course. He did need to socialize more.
The question was: how? And with whom?
He had a group of people he was friendly with. Sort of. He was friendly with a lot of people at the Prosecutor’s Office and some of the detectives down at the station. He was friendly with Wright, and through him had other associates and acquaintances that he’d consider almost friends. And there was, of course, Larry. But Edgeworth didn’t think he could ever bring himself to willingly socialize with Larry Butz. Not one-on-one, at least.
But they didn’t invite him to social functions anymore. Most of the time he rejected their invitations, and eventually they stopped asking. He didn’t fault them for that. But it meant that if he wanted to socialize…he’d have to initiate.
Edgeworth didn’t even know where to start.
Dr. Endens probably wouldn’t expect him to actually make any progress in the two weeks between appointments, but he felt a desire to surprise her by doing more than expected. If only he could think of anything.
When they were younger, it was easier to occasionally spend time with Wright (and Maya, who was always by his side). They’d see one another at the courthouse and get lunch together, talking about cases they were on. But things had changed: Wright had a lot more responsibility and a family to take care of, so his free time was usually pretty filled and Edgeworth felt uncomfortable at the thought of pulling him away from his daughter.
So he threw himself into his work, as per usual, keeping Dr. Endens’ suggestion in the back of his mind in case he did come across anything. Perhaps he’d see a poster advertising an upcoming social event that he could suggest to Wright or Gumshoe, who would then bring all of their family and friends. That wasn’t the worst idea.
Three days after his most recent appointment, Edgeworth was still without anything concrete. He was, however, getting a lot of work done, and that was much more important.
“Knock, knock!”
Edgeworth looked up from his desk, an eyebrow raised at the sound of a familiar voice saying the words knock, knock while simultaneously knocking on his door. “Come in,” he answered, confident he knew who was there, but wanting to see her face before he said the wrong name.
As expected, Maya Fey’s head popped up around the side of the door and she smiled brightly at him. “Hi, Mr. Edgeworth!” she said cheerfully, giving him a small wave.
It'd been a few weeks since he last saw Maya Fey - her work as the Master kept her in Kurain more often than not. It was nice to see her, though. She was one of the few people that Edgeworth considered himself friendly with, maybe even to the point of calling her his friend, and he hoped she felt the same.
“Maya,” he responded, releasing a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. Though they hadn’t spent too much time together, he always found himself feeling relaxed around her. She had a very calming presence when she wasn't in danger. “What can I help you with?”
She stepped further into the room, revealing a small manila folder in her hands. “Nick was gonna bring this over later today, but I was already heading in this direction so I thought I’d help you both out!”
“Oh, thank you,” he said as she walked closer and held out the folder. He took it from her and quickly glanced inside, making sure that it was the correct paperwork. Both Wright and Maya could be a bit airheaded at times, so it was always good to double-check. “I hope you didn’t have to go out of your way.”
“Aw, no! It’s no problem!” Maya clasped her hands together in front of her, smiling at him as if they were much closer than they really were. “I’m always happy to see you! And it’s cool to be in such a fancy office. Nick’s is nothing compared to this!”
Edgeworth couldn’t help but let out a quiet chuckle at that - though a small part of his brain was focused a little too intensely on her saying she was always happy to see him . He liked Maya, and found her surprisingly easy to spend time with. She was one of the least judgemental people he knew, and would probably say yes to any social invitation so long as there was food involved.
“Thankfully, I don’t have to share my office space with a magician,” he commented jokingly, not wanting to talk too much about the differences between his and Wright’s socioeconomic statuses.
“Not yet! But with all the whackadoos they hire here, you never know if the next big prosecutor will be pulling updated autopsy reports out of a hat!” Maya laughed at her own joke, then took a few seconds to look at all the decor in his office. “So classy,” she mumbled, half-serious.
Edgeworth watched her for a moment, an idea coming to mind. He was very grateful that she’d brought him the paperwork, and he had what could become a potential one-on-one social opportunity that evening. Dr. Endens mentioned that socializing as a way of expressing gratitude was one of the easier ways to initiate it. And…he felt like he could spend time with Maya without feeling too awkward. She’d be encouraging and he’d be taking a step in the right direction without too much risk of embarrassment.
With a deep breath, he stood up from his desk chair and interrupted her absentminded commentary about one of the books on his shelf. “Maya,” he started, trying not to stare down at the papers on his desk. “Are you, by any chance, free this evening?”
She turned to him and stared with a very confused expression, then glanced away and back to his face multiple times. “I, uh…I am, yeah.”
He took another deep breath. Being social was difficult enough - initiating social activities was the worst. “There's a new restaurant opening tonight just a few blocks from here. Would you like to go?” He wasn't an expert on Maya Fey by any means, but he knew how much she loved food. It seemed like a good idea. Something she would enjoy.
Maya’s cheeks lit up with a bright red blush and she smiled, holding her hands together in front of her. “R-Really? I mean…yeah, that sounds great! But…are you gonna be able to get a table?”
There was absolutely no chance that Edgeworth was going to tell her that he already had a standing reservation that he'd made weeks ago - somehow, admitting that he enjoyed going to new restaurants by himself was not something he felt comfortable confessing. He had so many people he was friendly with who would certainly go with him if he simply invited them. But that was the hard part.
“I have my ways,” he answered simply, smirking. Better that she think he was cool and influential rather than terribly, awkwardly lonely. “I'll send you their website so you can look at the menu ahead of time.”
Maya seemed oddly, unexpectedly shy when she responded. “Okay, yeah. Yeah! This’ll be fun!” She played with her bangs for a moment, then asked, “Is it a fancy place? Should I…what should I wear?”
“I suppose it looks, um, fancy,” he answered as he copied the website link to their messaging chat, “but your clothes should be fine. They're religiously significant and certainly wouldn't be seen as casual.”
She held one hand to her chin in thought, like she was still deciding.
Edgeworth didn't want such a small thing to add any unnecessary stress to what he hoped would be a pleasant evening. “If it helps at all, I'll be wearing this,” he said, motioning to the magenta suit he was known for.
Maya smiled at that, and clapped her hands together in front of her. “That does help, actually. So what time are you picking me up?”
Of course - though the restaurant was only a few blocks from his office, he shouldn't expect her to walk all the way from Wright's office to his twice in one day. The reservation (that he’d need to adjust from one person to two people) was set for 7:30, so… “7:10,” he answered.
“So specific!” Maya responded, still smiling, and she walked closer to his desk. “I'll be ready and waiting at 7:10, then.”
The blush across her cheeks had lightened, but Edgeworth noted that she still looked quite shyer than usual. He hoped he wasn't making her uncomfortable. “And of course there's no obligation to go, so please don't force yourself if you'd rather not,” he suddenly said, wishing he was more confident in these situations.
Maya playfully pushed a hand against his shoulder. “You can't back out now!” Then she did a little spin and walked towards the door, leaning against it as she looked back at him. “I'm expecting you at exactly 7:10! Don't be late, okay?”
Edgeworth nodded, smiling awkwardly as she shut the door behind her. He was proud of himself for getting out there and attempting sociability, even if there was a mountain of sweat trailing down his back.
He needed to get back to work, clearly.
x
Edgeworth left the garage of the Prosecutor's Office a little after 7, hoping to arrive at Wright’s office slightly early (or right on time, depending on traffic). He wondered if Maya told Wright about their outing - hopefully she didn't invite him along, since it would be a lot more difficult to alter his reservation again so last-minute.
He would try, of course, if they asked. But his attempts at being more social would also be easier one step at a time - or in this case, one person at a time.
Without giving it much more thought, Edgeworth enjoyed the classical music radio station for the remainder of his drive and was satisfied to see that the street in front of Wright's office was empty as ever. He parked and checked his pocket watch for the time - one minute early, just as planned.
Edgeworth walked up to the office door and knocked twice, wondering briefly if Maya was the type of woman to take a long time to get ready. He'd heard plenty of jokes from Larry about women and delays, but Maya didn't seem like the type of person to waste time like that.
When the door opened, he was greeted by a very unexpected sight.
Maya Fey was wearing a surprisingly tasteful evening gown - in the familiar purple color that he associated with her, and she'd done her hair differently - partially tied up but with loose braids around her face, and if he wasn't mistaken, she was even wearing makeup.
He knew that he was usually overdressed for events; suddenly he felt underdressed.
Not quite sure how to react, Edgeworth blinked down at her a few times, and finally opened his mouth to let out an absolutely humiliating, “I don't think I've ever seen you in such a normal outfit.”
Maya rolled her eyes and laughed, elbowing him lightly in the chest. “I thought this would be a good night to try something different! Do you like it?”
She did a little spin and Edgeworth couldn't stop himself from smiling. “You look lovely, Maya,” he answered honestly. Hopefully she didn't take that the wrong way and think he was being inappropriate. She really did look good, though. The dress fit her perfectly and he was glad to have given her an opportunity to wear it.
“Aw! Thank you, Miles!”
He didn't have even a moment to react to her calling him by his first name - not that he had any objections, it was just not something that anyone did - before she'd grabbed the lapels of his jacket and tugged his face down so she could give him a kiss on the cheek.
Edgeworth felt his face heating up as she let go and he straightened back up to his full height. He wasn't quite a foot taller than her, but it was close enough that she had to drag him down far to reach.
He was understandably embarrassed about what just occurred. It’d been a very long time since anyone had kissed him. A very long time. He also didn’t understand why she’d kissed him, but…he knew that Maya was a very affectionate person. She'd always been quicker to hug or link arms or lay her hand on his shoulder, so it wasn't unusual to think she'd be quick to kiss as well.
His blush deepened at his own thoughts and he tried to shake off the sentiment by focusing on the conversation. “I, uh, yes, of course. Are you ready to leave?”
“Yes! Let's go before Nick realizes you're here and starts badgering you,” she said with a chuckle, grabbing her jacket and purse before closing the door behind her.
“I'm sure if he needs to talk to me, he'll just call me tomorrow,” Edgeworth responded with a shrug.
The drive was fairly quick - getting from Wright’s office to the Prosecutor’s Office took less than five minutes by car, and Edgeworth just planned to park there since he always had a free spot and it was in a nice location in the middle of town. One of the many perks of being Chief Prosecutor.
Maya was noticeably quiet on the drive and the walk to the restaurant - polite, of course, and she answered him when prompted and participated in light conversation, but it didn’t escape his notice that they passed by a man wearing a Steel Samurai t-shirt and she didn’t say anything about it.
Though he thought that was a bit odd for Maya, Edgeworth chalked it up to her wanting to have a fancy night on the town. The dress she was wearing looked mature and elegant and it would’ve seemed out of place for her to start chatting with some stranger about a children’s television program. That made enough sense for him to decide not to ask her about it, anyway.
The restaurant was only a few blocks from his office, just as he’d said, and Maya seemed happy that they were led to their seats almost immediately after walking in.
“It’s like being out with a celebrity,” Maya commented jokingly as they followed the waiter.
Edgeworth shook his head. “I suppose I have a reputation for having high expectations,” he responded, hoping that made him sound classy rather than snooty.
They got to the table and Edgeworth pulled out Maya’s seat for her, not completely surprised to see her blush and smile politely before sitting down. She’d been acting a bit nervous during their time together and he was starting to wonder if he’d pushed this onto her too quickly. Maybe he should’ve started with a friendly chat over tea instead of dinner. But the timing just worked out so well…
They chatted idly as the waiter brought water and menus, Maya didn’t ask for a soda or a cocktail or anything which Edgeworth, once again, thought was odd. He remembered her ordering colorful drinks whenever they were available when she was younger. Perhaps she’d grown out of that.
He glanced at the menu, though he’d looked it over on their website beforehand so he wouldn’t have to spend much time deciding. They had a Mediterranean salmon dish that sounded quite good and he’d chosen it quickly.
Based on how much Maya was eyeballing the menu, he had a feeling she didn’t look online before they came. Which was fine. He knew that not everyone did that - he’d gotten used to it over the years because of being a picky eater when he was young.
While she was focused on that, he glanced around the room at the other patrons. The restaurant was a bit darker than he preferred, but each table had a flickering candle between the diners. Which worked nicely, since every single table seated two.
Hm. Well, that was interesting, wasn’t it? Usually there was a wider variety of groups at restaurants, but as he looked fully around the room, Edgeworth noted that every single table was just two people. Each set of two seemed generally around the same age, so he could safely assume that most (if not all) of them were dates.
Edgeworth knew going into their night together that any onlooker would assume they were on a date. That didn’t matter to him - he’d never cared about the gender of the people he spent time with and didn’t pay any attention to what others assumed because of it. But if he’d unintentionally taken them to a restaurant that was specifically catering to couples, then he’d put himself and Maya into a very awkward position.
“Okay, I know what I’m getting!” Maya announced, a smile on her face. “Everything sounds so good, though.”
The smile on her face made him relax. Perhaps he was overthinking things.
But then Maya glanced around the room just as he had. And then that blush on her cheeks reappeared and she started playing with her hair a bit and she was probably very uncomfortable.
He felt an urge to apologize and explain that he didn’t realize, but the waiter came back to take their orders. “The Mediterranean salmon, please. Caesar salad. And a glass of Sauvignon blanc.”
“And for you, miss?”
“Can I get the chicken burrata salad? With the av-goh-lee-mono soup?”
Though she and the waiter kept speaking for a few moments, Edgeworth could suddenly only hear white noise. He barely even registered her mispronunciation.
A salad?
Maya Fey had ordered…a salad?
For dinner?
For a meal?
Sure, yes, it had meat and cheese in it. But…still. He’d never, in all the years he’d known her, seen her order a salad. And after spending hours listening to Wright complain about Maya’s eating habits, he was pretty confident that she didn’t eat healthy any other time, either.
So…what was different? Was she just in a strange mood? Was it a particularly good-sounding salad? He supposed it didn’t sound bad, looking at the description on the menu before handing it over to the waiter. But it didn’t stand out as anything spectacular.
Just as Edgeworth was about to ask her about it, he was mentally dragged back to his paranoid thoughts from before they’d ordered.
“Oh, my God! Yes! Yes, I will!”
Dozens of people in the room started clapping - including Maya - and Edgeworth turned around to see a couple at a table on the other end of the room were hugging and kissing. The shorter of the two men shouted something about getting married and held his hand up high, clearly showing off the ring on his finger.
That pretty much sealed his paranoia. This was a distinctly romantic restaurant and Edgeworth had dragged Maya Fey, his platonic acquaintance/friend whom he enjoyed spending time with, to it without warning her ahead of time.
He felt near-mortified at such a social misstep. He had definitely gone too far, too fast. He should’ve started with tea.
But Dr. Endens’ voice appeared in his head - she would tell him to take a breath, assess the situation rationally, and explain himself before assuming that his associates were angry with him. So he took that deep breath and opened his mouth.
But then the waiter came back with their starters. That was quick.
“That was fast!” Maya said cheerfully as the waiter smiled down at her.
Edgeworth supposed that starter salads and soups were prepared ahead of time, which explained the speed. Plus, well. His aforementioned reputation.
Maya dug into her soup immediately, looking like she was absolutely starved. Edgeworth ate a few bites of his salad, but he still wanted to address the elephant in the room. He wanted to make sure that Maya wasn’t uncomfortable, and also make sure she knew that he didn’t have any unspoken intentions when he asked her out to dinner.
He swallowed a bite, drank a sip of wine, and took another deep breath. “Maya.”
“Hm?”
“I want to make sure you know that I didn’t mean to put any expectations on this dinner,” he said quickly, hoping he was being clear. “I must’ve missed the part of their website where they mentioned the…atmosphere here.”
Maya blinked at him slowly, then tilted her head to the side. “Huh?”
“I…I didn't realize this place would be so…romantic,” he said quietly, feeling embarrassed. Their outing looked like a date. He couldn't pretend otherwise, especially when they were literally surrounded by couples of all ages.
“You didn't?” she asked genuinely, spoon in her mouth.
Edgeworth turned his head away from her stare, blush rising to his cheeks again. “I apologize, Maya. I didn't know anything about this.” He wouldn't have been surprised if she was uncomfortable, and felt an urge to offer her an out despite the fact that they'd already ordered.
“Oh. Oh. You don't know what day it is, do you?” Maya asked, an amused smile forming on her face.
He was confused by the sudden question. “It's…February 14th, isn't it?”
Maya tilted her head forward slightly. “Sure is. And do you know what else?”
Edgeworth glared at her in confusion. What else? The date was the date. It was February 14th. It was…oh.
Oh.
“I'm an idiot,” he grumbled, covering his blushing face with his hands.
Maya laughed, stirring her spoon around her soup bowl, as if some sort of pressure had been released. “This explains so much!” she said with a chuckle. “I was like, wow, Mr. Edgeworth, this is all so sudden!”
He reached out and grabbed his wine, drinking it slowly as she laughed at him. It didn't evade his notice that she was calling him Mr. Edgeworth again. What had changed, exactly? Now she knew he was an idiot who didn't pay attention to non-bank holidays? Probably.
As he continued to drink the wine, Maya got the waiter’s attention, ordered ‘whatever you have that's closest to mozzarella sticks!’, and then she continued giggling at his social faux-pas before excusing herself to the bathroom.
She walked away quickly and Miles was struck by a sudden realization.
Maya Fey had thought that he asked her out on a romantic date. On Valentine’s Day. And not only had she accepted, but she also dressed up especially nice and had ordered food that was more socially acceptable than her usual choices.
She was trying to make a good impression.
On him.
…she wanted to be on a date with him .
Edgeworth felt the back of his neck get sweaty. He knew what that meant, logically. It meant that Maya Fey, at the very least , was attracted to him. And at the very most, she saw potential in a romantic relationship between them.
He needed more wine before he spiraled into thinking about the situation further.
He barely ever thought about things like romance or sex. As a man who could barely maintain friendships, the thought of romance stayed far away from his mind. And it always had, so it wasn't something that generally appealed to him from women or men or anyone.
But…’barely ever’ wasn't never.
Maya Fey was not someone he'd considered as an option before, if he was being honest with himself. She was quite a few years younger than him, and more than that…she was the best friend of Phoenix Wright , one of his closest friends and rivals.
(One of his closest friends was a man he didn't speak to for seven years. It was no wonder his therapist put so much emphasis on getting him to socialize more.)
Given the circumstances they were currently in, Edgeworth took a moment to…consider her.
He enjoyed spending time with her. They'd been friendly for several years, even if their interactions were few and far between. She was charmingly upbeat, pleasant, friendly…and also very beautiful. He'd never noticed that before, and felt a little ignorant having come to the realization only after seeing her in different clothes. How shallow was he?
The idea that she could have an interest in him made Edgeworth very, very nervous. He wasn’t unused to attention from women (and men), but they were always strangers. When someone knew him better, knew his personality and his habits, they tended to lose interest. Not that he particularly cared, it was just a pattern he’d noticed over the years.
Maya, however, did know him. Quite well, in fact. She’d been present for some of the darkest times in his life, just as he had for her. And yet she still said yes to what she thought was a…a romantic outing.
A Valentine’s Day date.
Edgeworth knew his cheeks were bright red. Thankfully, he could blame that on the wine. He was thoroughly embarrassed by his social blunder, thoroughly embarrassed by the idea of being on a date, thoroughly embarrassed that he forgot about Valentine’s Day, and thoroughly embarrassed that a small part of him wished he hadn’t said anything at all.
She was taking her time in the bathroom, so Edgeworth let his mind wander while he picked at his salad. If they’d gone through the entire evening with her thinking it was a date and him not knowing, then…how would it have ended?
…would she have tried to kiss him?
He tugged at his cravat, which suddenly felt very tight. He didn’t know how he would’ve reacted to something like that. He probably would’ve turned into a statue, completely unmoving, and she would’ve been put-off and then that would’ve been the end of that. Just another in a long list of social failures for Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth.
“Would you like more wine, sir?”
“Yes.” Edgeworth answered the waiter faster and more urgently than he meant to, and of course that was also the moment that Maya came back from the bathroom.
The waiter didn’t say anything, just refilled his glass and walked away, but Maya chuckled and tugged some hair behind her ear. “Woww, almost being on a date with me is just that bad, huh?”
She was clearly trying to be humorous, but Edgeworth felt much too nervous and awkward to play along. Instead, he cleared his throat and shook his head. “Not at all, Maya. I was just…” He took a moment to sigh. “...just embarrassed, I suppose.”
“It’s all good,” she answered with a smile and a shrug. “I, um…I get the feeling you’ve never really been one for Valentine’s Day. One of the many reasons why I was so surprised!”
“Is it that obvious?” He felt like she was trying to alleviate his embarrassment, but that just made it worse.
And yet, she still said yes.
Edgeworth started on his new glass of wine. It was the same as the previous, but tasted better somehow.
“Completely obvious,” she answered cheekily. “It’s okay. Not like I’ve ever celebrated either!”
Absentmindedly, he thought that was strange. A holiday centered around candy and gifts and love seemed perfectly fitting for someone like Maya Fey. But then he thought about where and how she was raised - Kurain Village likely didn’t celebrate such holidays.
“Here’s your fried cheese, ma’am,” the waiter said gently as he placed the mozzarella sticks in front of her.
Maya smiled and dug into them immediately, letting out a sound of satisfaction as she initiated a loud, textured crunch.
Edgeworth was happy for the distraction, allowing him to collect himself for a moment. He was struggling to get over the information about Maya that he'd deduced, but watching her loudly chew a stick of cheese was helping.
It was that moment when his phone buzzed, and Edgeworth was surprised to see he had a text message from Phoenix Wright.
You really didn't know it was Valentine's Day? Lame.
Edgeworth's cheeks burned and he put his phone away - not wanting to be rude and also too embarrassed to deal with the fact that Wright knew about his blunder. He couldn't even be mad at Maya for sharing - she was obviously embarrassed as well. And, based on her comment about Wright from the beginning of the evening, it sounded like he was already aware of their outing.
And, of course, she'd undoubtedly told Wright that it was a date.
Edgeworth grabbed his water that time, not wanting to overdo it on the wine. He was genuinely surprised that Wright didn't accost him during the day. He'd always been very protective of Maya (for good reason, since she was such a trouble magnet).
“I…I know it's beating a dead horse at this point,” Edgeworth started slowly, “but I'd like to apologize again. This was an entirely avoidable misunderstanding.”
She smiled radiantly at him and finished off another mozzarella stick. “Ahh, it's okay! Really! It's not like anyone else is gonna take me to a fancy dinner,” she answered with a chuckle.
Something about her response didn't sit quite well with him and Edgeworth frowned. Without even realizing his mouth was open, he said, “That can't be true.”
Maya tilted her head to the side. “What do you mean?”
Edgeworth's mouth suddenly filled with sand as he realized that he'd spoken out loud. His thought process was quite simple: she was very pretty, outspoken, charming, and easy to talk to, so it didn't make sense for her to be without suitors. He could not bring himself to say any of that out loud for a multitude of reasons, so he opted instead to stare at her and repeatedly open and close his mouth like a fish.
They dealt with a terribly awkward few seconds before Maya spoke again, almost like she knew he’d spoken without meaning to. “Ohhh, you mean because I’m so beaaaautiful and funny and nice to talk to, the boys should be lining up?” she said jokingly, striking a few poses and giving him a cheeky grin.
Breath returned to his lungs and Edgeworth was able to speak again. “Um- yes. Something like that,” he answered. He could tell she was joking, being a bit self-deprecating, and he desperately wanted to stop her from doing that. But he couldn’t argue without complimenting her physically and the idea of doing so made his neck start to sweat again.
Maya chuckled and the conversion paused for a moment as their food arrived and was placed quietly in front of them. As soon as the waiter left, she smiled back at Edgeworth. “Well, I guess looks aren’t enough anymore! Not like I can meet guys anyway - the only men that come to Kurain are channeling clients and lawyers trying to get me un-kidnapped again.”
That comment brought a small smile to Edgeworth’s face, just for a second, and then he looked down at his food like it was the most interesting thing in the world. “I see,” he responded, feeling awkward as ever. “That makes sense, I suppose.”
In a good-natured attempt to lighten the mood, Maya reached her fork out and stole a little bit of the couscous off of Edgeworth’s plate. “It’s okay though! I’m happy to spend Valentine’s Day with you even if it’s not a date!” she said happily.
And then, very quickly, she looked embarrassed. She ate that bite of couscous and then moved onto her own food, shoveling it into her mouth, and that seemed to be the end of the conversation.
Edgeworth replayed her last sentence in his head. Even if it’s not a date. Implying that she’d be happier if it was a date. He could feel his neck starting to sweat again.
It was clear that Maya didn’t mean to say that, based on how she was stuffing her face with food to prevent herself from talking anymore. He understood the urge very well.
They stuck to simpler topics for the rest of the meal - updates on Wright and other shared friends of theirs, local news and goings-on, Franziska and her many adventures, and even the new Steel Samurai movie after some light goading. He wasn’t particularly excited for it - he hadn’t been interested in newer updates to the franchise in years. But Maya tried to keep up just in case there were any diamonds in the rough, which he commended. She even promised to let him know if there was anything worth checking out.
Everything felt lighter after they moved on from their social struggles - Edgeworth found himself genuinely enjoying the time spent with Maya, even when he had to point out that she had a piece of food stuck to her cheek.
It was oddly cute to watch her try and get it with her tongue and then give up and use her napkin. Then Edgeworth felt very wrong for thinking such a thing. But he wasn't wrong. She was cute. She’s Maya.
He excused himself to the bathroom after that, finished with his food and wanting to wash his hands. And also he needed a little break from socializing so much and coming to a very disturbing realization that he was finding himself oh-so-slightly attracted to Maya Fey. Which was completely and one-hundred percent uncomfortable to think about. He’d known her for such a long time and he’d never thought of her in that way, not even once. She’d always been a friendly, calming face - someone who inspired him to be stronger and more outspoken, just as Wright did, and one of the associates in his life that made him want to be a better person. Being the prosecutor on the case of Mia Fey - actively accusing and charging Maya with her own sister’s murder - was still a weight on his shoulders. Especially since Maya came to his rescue just a few months later without hesitation.
There weren’t enough thank yous in the world to express his gratitude to her. But being grateful to someone wasn’t a reason to date them, and being grateful to Maya wasn’t the reason he was suddenly feeling a certain kind of way about her.
He’d felt a desire to spend more time with her, acted on that impulse, then found himself humiliated and somehow still he wanted to spend more time with her.
It had to mean something, he was pretty sure. Combined with the fact that an annoying part of his brain kept repeating the word cute every time he looked at her, it was hard to pretend that he wasn't dealing with some unfamiliar feelings.
Edgeworth washed his hands for what felt like the fifth time when he came to a decision. He was going to take a chance, for the first time in a very long time.
If Maya saw potential between them, then she must’ve had reasons to. She wasn't as logic-based as Edgeworth, but she wouldn't have come up with the idea out of thin air.
He walked back over to their table only to find Maya talking to the waiter - he handed her the check and walked off.
Edgeworth sat down, a bit confused. “You don’t want to get dessert?” he asked.
“Ahh, I mean, some of them looked pretty good, but I figure we should head out,” she answered, a light blush on her cheeks as she avoided eye contact.
Edgeworth understood what she was doing. She was giving him an out, an opportunity to end their not-quite-a-date early and save the both of them some awkwardness and embarrassment.
“I see,” he responded quietly, reaching out for the check. He was not going to take the out, but he also didn’t want to overstep and make her uncomfortable. So no dessert at the restaurant, that was fine. They were in a nice part of town and he had other ideas.
Maya was playing with her hair - cute - when the waiter came back to take his card, and she gave Edgeworth a small smile. “Thank you for this. I'm sorry I made it weird, but this was really nice!”
He glanced up at her, unsurprised to see that she was blushing again. “You did no such thing, Maya. The blunder was mine,” he said softly, fighting an urge to tap his fingertips against the table. “I’ve had a nice time as well.”
Conversation stalled once again as the waiter came back - Edgeworth left a sizable tip (and not only because Maya was staring directly at his hand while he was signing, he always left good tips!), and they made their way out of the restaurant. Maya took the lead, waving goodbye to every waiter and waitress they passed on the way.
Which was very cute of her to do.
They stepped outside - the air was cooler than earlier in the evening, but still warm for February.
Maya chuckled and moved her hands to the back of her neck, leaving them there as some sort of comfort while she looked up and down the street. “Back to the car, then?” she asked, already starting to walk towards the Prosecutor's Office.
It was now or never, Edgeworth decided. Though he knew that was an exaggeration and he could always attempt to remedy their situation later, he wanted to try living in the moment. Make Dr. Endens proud.
“Actually…”
Maya turned her head, staring at him with a confused expression.
“... there's a patisserie a few blocks from here that's open late,” Edgeworth continued, crossing his arms over his chest defensively. “I…think you would like it.”
She blinked at him. “Yeah?”
“Also, um…” He took a deep breath, willing himself to say the next thing he wanted to say. It was very difficult. But he really wanted to say it. “You can, ah…” he continued quietly, trying not to bring attention to how embarrassed he was, “...continue to call me Miles, if you'd like. I don't mind.”
Maya looked surprised for a second, then smiled brightly at him. Her smile was contagious, which really helped ease him out of his embarrassed misery.
“Okay Miles… ” Maya said cheekily, looking much more confident than a moment earlier. “I can do that!”
She didn't question his invitation to continue their not-date, which he very much appreciated. The walk to the patisserie would only take them a few minutes, and she instead filled the silence with idle talk about some of the outfits they saw along the street.
He offered small affirmations that he'd heard her - too distracted by the fact that his hand was dangling very close to hers as they walked along. Their hands even brushed briefly, which he knew from reading the occasional romantic novel was his opportunity to grab her hand.
Edgeworth’s other hand, in his pocket, twitched at the thought. He was very bad at this, he knew that. But she put a lot of effort into trying to impress him for the evening, so he wanted to do the same.
He reached his dangling hand closer to hers, fully intending to try and grab it.
Unfortunately, she'd leaned a little bit to the left just as he did that and her hand was slightly out of reach. So all that happened was his pinky finger brushed against her palm, and his confidence depleted immediately.
Edgeworth internally cursed himself and turned his head away from Maya, glad that she didn't seem to notice.
Or he thought as much, until he felt her small hand wrap around his own.
His heart started beating faster and he turned to look down at her - she was blushing and smiling slightly, but most notably, she was looking straight ahead and avoiding his eye line.
It seemed that neither of them were very good at this sort of thing.
Their conversation dwindled, both a bit too distracted by their hands to focus. If not for the couples sitting outside the patisserie, Edgeworth had a feeling they would've walked right past it.
“This is it,” he said, stopping in front of the door.
“Wowww,” Maya said, letting out an exaggerated whistle. “It looks so fancy. I should get one of everything!”
Edgeworth squeezed her hand lightly before pulling his hand away and crossing his arms over his chest. “Perhaps just one or two treats.” He paused for a moment, then added, “We can always come back next time.”
She looked up at him when he said that, an unreadable expression on her face. It seemed like she was trying to figure out exactly what that meant, though Edgeworth was surprised that he managed to suggest it at all. He was still feeling exceptionally nervous. A bit like his stomach was going to explode.
“We should get something for Nick and Trucy,” she responded with a smile. “I bet they'll be jealous that we went somewhere so extravagant!”
He smiled back and moved forward to open the door, letting Maya enter the building first. Millie’s was a small business, though they often catered important events at the Prosecutor’s Office so Edgeworth had become familiar with them over the years.
The woman behind the counter recognized him immediately. “Good evening, Prosecutor Edgeworth!” she said, noticing Maya and not yet acknowledging her. “Would you like your usual?”
That question put an excited smile on Maya’s face - she leaned onto the counter and held up two fingers. “ Two of Prosecutor Edgeworth’s usual, please!”
The woman nodded at her. “Of course, just a moment!”
“You don't even know what it is,” Edgeworth said to Maya as she turned back around to face him.
“If it's good enough to be your usual then I have to try it!” she responded, giggling. “I never knew you had such a sweet tooth, Miles!”
The light mockery and her using his first name brought the blush back to his cheeks, making Edgeworth almost regret all of his decisions in the last ten minutes. Almost. “I…well.” He pouted, turning away from her. “I don't keep many sweets at home, so I come here whenever I have a craving.”
“That's so cute.”
His face felt even warmer. He'd been thinking about that word all evening, but she just came out and said it without a second thought. “I think I'm a bit old to be called cute .”
Maya stepped forward and leaned into his personal space, lifting up one finger and lightly poking the tip of his nose. “If you don't wanna be called cute, then you shouldn't say cute things!”
Unsure if it was possible to be more embarrassed, Edgeworth stood there and stewed in his humiliation. As the woman came back, Maya ordered two chocolate croissants to go, and then tugged on his arm when those were packed up.
“Do you want anything else?” Maya asked.
He blinked down at her. The last minute passed by so quickly. “No. This is fine.”
Maya reached towards her purse after he said that, and Edgeworth quickly put a hand over hers as he handed his card to the worker.
“But you paid for dinner!” Maya exclaimed, not moving her hand out from under his.
“Of course,” he responded like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “And I'm paying for this, too.” He paused for just a moment before deciding to add, “I'm the one who invited you out. It only makes sense that I pay.”
She pouted at him, but relented, and there was a faint hint of pink on her cheeks as she turned away from his gaze. “I just don't want you to feel like I'm only here for the free food,” she said to him, half-joking.
Edgeworth shook his head playfully. “The thought never even crossed my mind,” he answered. If not for her slip-ups during dinner - the moments where she accidentally admitted to wanting to be on a date with him - maybe he would've wondered such a thing. But her interest was clear, no matter how nervous that fact made him.
“Here's your butterscotch croissants!” the woman behind the counter said happily, handing the paper bag to Maya.
Maya had the most comically surprised look on her face as she took the bag, and her smirk didn't falter for a moment as she stared up at Edgeworth. “Never in a million years could I have predicted your usual!”
He rolled his eyes and didn't object as Maya grabbed him by his sleeve and pulled him outside so they could sit at a small outdoor table. “What were you expecting? Something coffee flavored?”
“Oh, yeah, one hundred percent,” she responded with a laugh. “Or maybe a black and white cookie. Definitely not…this!” Maya pulled out one of the croissants as she finished her sentence, and was stunned into silence by the size of it. It looked deliciously flaky and buttery, and there was a small amount of butterscotch cream oozing out of one end. “This looks so good.”
Edgeworth reached into the bag to grab his own - it was smaller than Maya’s, but he was used to slight differences since they were all hand-made. And truth be told, their croissants were often too filling for him, anyway.
Probably just right for Maya, though.
“They are very good,” he answered, shifting his position in the uncomfortable metal chair. “I believe they-... Maya. ”
He cut himself off when he glanced up at the woman across the table and saw her devouring the croissant - barely a few seconds had passed and there was only a bite or two left. It was shocking that she’d managed to eat it so quickly without getting flakes of croissant all over her face.
“Hm?” she mumbled back, innocently, then she took another huge bite to finish off the pastry.
Edgeworth blinked slowly, then shook his head for a moment before turning to the croissant in his hand. He took a small bite and savored the light crunch and the sweet flavor while trying to understand how the hell he’d ended up on a date with a woman like Maya Fey. She was ridiculous. She was impossibly charming. It didn’t make any sense.
And yet, there he was. He felt oddly calm after watching her eat her dessert in such a…Maya way. His fear that he was making her at all uncomfortable melted away just as the butterscotch melted in his mouth.
It’d been a good evening.
“This has been really nice, Miles,” Maya said suddenly, capturing his attention once again. “Thank you!”
He still had several bites left to go, but Edgeworth was a slow eater and he didn’t see any reason to pretend otherwise. He glanced back up at her and was a little surprised to see her playing with her hair and looking shy again.
Suddenly remembering that he wasn’t the only person feeling nervous about their situation, Edgeworth cleared his throat and nodded. “Of course. I…I’ve enjoyed…spending this time with you.” He stuffed the croissant back in his mouth, hoping it would prevent him from saying anything more embarrassing than that.
Maya’s eyes looked like they were sparkling from the reflection of the moon and stars. It was slightly captivating.
“Do you wanna go for a walk?” she asked happily, handing him a napkin as he finished his pastry. “Burn off these calories?”
He took the napkin and patted the corners of his mouth, fairly confident there wasn’t any food on his face. Part of him was not at all surprised by her question, but another part couldn’t believe how well his first sort-of-date in over ten years was going. Probably longer than that. Twenty years, maybe? Edgeworth stood up and held out a hand to Maya. “There’s a park just around the corner.”
She smiled and grabbed his hand, allowing him to feel like a gentleman and also initiate more hand-holding without the same awkwardness from before. Maya grabbed the two pastry bags and tossed one into a nearby trash can, then quickly took the lead towards Exposé Park .
It was a quick little walk and he was happy to see that there were a lot less people outside than earlier. The public displays of affection were difficult for him - less of an audience (not that anyone was really paying attention to them) made it much easier. They passed one other pair - Maya complimented the woman’s dress and she responded in kind, then they continued on their separate ways.
“It’s impressive how you can do that,” he commented absentmindedly.
“What do you mean?” Maya asked, looking up at him and squeezing his hand.
Edgeworth stared down at her, then suddenly felt his heart race faster and turned to stare ahead instead. “You complimented that woman without a second thought. It’s very…nice.”
“Oh!” She giggled and briefly leaned against his arm. “Well, y’know…people like getting compliments on things they made a choice about.”
Her wording was interesting and Edgeworth found himself curious about it. “That’s why you specifically commented on her dress?”
Maya let go of his hand as they walked past the gate into the park - it wasn’t super well-lit, but they could feel a light breeze from the nearby pond. “Dress, hair, makeup, shoes…you get it.”
He nodded his head, understanding her logic. “I’ve never given it much thought before, but it makes sense. If I said your dress is nice then I’m addressing the conscious choices you made to purchase it and wear it, but if I said you have beautiful eyes then that’s just about your looks.”
She was staring at him with an amused smile and a blush on her cheeks that made Edgeworth feel self-conscious.
“I-I, um. Or maybe I shouldn’t say anything.”
“No, Miles, it’s okay,” Maya said, laughing slightly. She held her hands out and rested them on his arms. “I was talking about how to compliment strangers. With friends it just kind of depends, y’know?”
“Right.” He felt embarrassed again.
“But with that being said, um…” She paused for a moment and pulled away from him, suddenly distracted by strands of her hair that’d fallen out of place. “I feel like I should just say this, but. Well. I’m getting really mixed signals from you tonight.”
Edgeworth felt like his heart was going to explode. “What do you mean?”
Maya combed her fingers through her hair and held it against the sides of her neck, trying to look up at him but repeatedly glancing away. “This wasn’t supposed to be a date, right?”
“It was not, no,” he answered honestly, hoping his voice didn’t waver with nervousness.
“Right, but…is it a date now?”
It was very difficult to answer that question. He didn’t really know anything about dates or dating rituals or what counted as a date and what didn’t. He’d been told in the past that he was on a date without realizing it, and had had moments where he thought something felt like a date when it most likely was not.
He simply was not good at making the distinction.
“I-I, um…” Edgeworth started, hating himself for tripping over his words. He wished he could be smoother. “I…it’s up to you.”
Maya’s eyes widened at that response and she blinked slowly a few times before responding. “Is it?”
“Yes,” he answered quickly before he could get stuck in his head about it again.
She smiled at that, which made Edgeworth happy that he may have actually said the right thing, and then Maya glanced around them - almost as if she was checking to see that no one else was around. It was pretty dark outside, so even if there was someone, there was little chance they’d be bothered. “Well, then…if we’re gonna call this a date, then it needs a little something, right?”
He stared down at her. Was he supposed to know what that something was? Hopefully she didn’t expect him to give an answer because he genuinely had no clue. “What’s that?”
Without saying anything else, Edgeworth felt her fingers dig into the lapels of his coat and she tugged him down towards her. He didn’t even have a moment to question her actions before their lips made contact and he was immediately stunned into silent shock.
The kiss lasted only a second or two, then Maya let him go and stepped away. Her face was red as a tomato and he suspected that his was the same.
“I-I’m so sorry,” Maya said, stammering, her confidence utterly shaken by her decision. “I shouldn’t have done that!” She laughed uncomfortably between words. “I should go home, I’m so sorry, I-”
Edgeworth reached out and grabbed her wrist, knowing he had to say something to get her to stop spiraling. It was important for him to remember that this wasn’t much easier for her than it was for him. “Maya.”
She stared at his hand around her wrist and didn’t respond.
“I, um. That was. Um. It was nice,” he said awkwardly, wishing the chill of the night would cool down his face.
“It was?” She sounded genuinely unsure and looked up at him again, making eye contact.
Edgeworth’s heart was racing so fast and he squeezed her wrist a little tighter on a reflex, then let go of her out of fear that he’d hurt her by accident. God, his neck was sweaty. “Y-yes. It was.” He wouldn’t lie to her, of course, not even to spare her feelings.
Maya smiled, her cheeks still pink but she seemed much calmer than before. She looked off to the side, then up at him again, and then started playing with her hair again.
Clearly she was thinking about something. But he was still too dumbstruck to open his mouth without prompting. He was just kissed by Maya Fey. What the hell was he supposed to say?
“...want me to do it again?”
He blinked slowly at her. Ah. Perhaps that would’ve been the right response. Or maybe he was just supposed to kiss her back like an adult capable of rational decisions would do. But it seemed that Maya understood how difficult and new this situation was for him, which he greatly appreciated.
Edgeworth reached his right hand towards her again, and they laced their fingers together in a way that made his heart flutter. If he didn’t know better, he would’ve thought it would just fly right out of his mouth. “If…if you’d like to, then I’d be amenable to that.”
Maya laughed, loudly, much more loudly than he would’ve expected, and then used her free hand to pull him down for another kiss.
It lasted longer than the first one and he kissed her back that time. Their hands came apart and she gripped his lapels again while his hands found their way to her hips. The thought came to his mind that he liked the feeling of her hips under his hands, and then he felt nervous about that line of thinking and then the kiss was over before he could think about it any further.
He didn’t stand back up quite yet, enjoying being close to her. It was nice. Everything at that moment was nice.
Maya gave him another peck on his lips and smiled in that way that he was always happy to see. “We should do this again next time I’m in town.”
Without even a moment of hesitation, he answered, “Yes. Yes we should.”

Gedanken/Thoughts
GER

This whole Toriyama situation got me thinking a lot. I would like to start drawing my own story again in the future. I'm turning 40 this year and life can just end so suddenly. I always had the dream of leaving something of myself behind through drawing. So that other people can look at my work and like it even when I'm no longer there. I love the DB fandom and of course I won't leave it, I just love Piccolo too much. But I also want to have something “of my own”. Something that only belongs to me. That's why I'm going to work on "Kwenju's Blade" again. The story will probably seem rather boring to outsiders and I'm not a good manga artist, but I still want to try to pull it off. Maybe I'm just doing it for myself, just so I know I've done something.

Little thing I wrote for @enden-agolor’s Stardew Valley AU (posting it before I lose my nerve and it just sits in a doc forever)
-
A new farmer had moved to town.
Well…”new” was sort of relative. He’d been living there for almost a year already, but Lukas hadn’t actually met him yet. He’d seen him around, obviously, but they’d never spoken.
He’d heard plenty, though. People talked; he’d heard all about how sweet and helpful the new farmer was. He was a ray of sunshine, he’d overheard Petra say once. Apparently he was trying to fix the old Community Center on top of running his farm.
Lukas didn’t want to be rude to a guy he’d never met, but that sounded like a stupid idea. The building had fallen into disrepair for a reason; it was honestly a miracle that it hadn’t been torn down or turned into a Joja warehouse yet.
If anything needed that sort of attention, it was the library. Several books were missing from the shelves. Lukas had already read everything there at least twice, even the books he hadn’t been fond of the first time.
He had just checked his third-favorite book out again when he noticed the heavy snow falling outside. It had been snowing when he walked over, but now the flakes were bigger and he was sure to get soaked if he tried to walk home, not to mention that he could barely see three feet in front of him. He’d have to wait until the snow got at least a little lighter.
Lukas sighed, pulling his coat tighter around himself and standing under the overhang. The library was closing soon, otherwise he would just wait inside.
Hopefully it wouldn’t take too long. It was cold and he really needed to start making dinner.
He watched the snow drift down in big, fat flakes. It was pretty, even if it was incredibly inconvenient. The peace was nice, though.
Of course, it didn’t last long.
The quiet was interrupted by footsteps crunching in the snow as a bulky figure approached. Lukas looked down at the book in his arms, hoping that whoever was coming toward him wouldn’t try to make conversation.
“Oh, hi! I didn’t see you there!”
No such luck.
Lukas glanced up without moving his head. The farmer was standing there, holding a book of his own. There were snowflakes stuck in his messy hair and he had a wide grin on his face.
“I’m Jesse! I don’t think we’ve met yet,” he said, shifting the book to one arm and holding his hand out. “I’ve been trying to meet everyone in town. I thought I had, but I guess not! You’re Lukas, right?”
Lukas stared at the man’s hand. How he was so cheerful, especially in the freezing cold, Lukas didn’t understand.
“Petra was telling me about you,” he continued, oblivious to the fact that Lukas hadn’t actually acknowledged him at all yet. “She said you’re pretty shy, but that’s okay.”
He realized that Jesse probably wouldn’t leave until he’d said something. “…Hello.”
Impossibly, the man’s grin got brighter. “It’s nice to meet you.” He seemed to realize that Lukas wasn’t going to shake his hand and dropped it back to his side.
“I should be getting home now,” Lukas said, barely glancing at Jesse before clutching his book closer to his chest and walking off. It was still hard to see where he was going, but it was better than standing next to the human sunshine until the snow died down. He didn’t want to make any conversation.
“See you around!” Jesse called. Lukas just trudged through the snow a little faster.
He knew he’d see the farmer around again, obviously, but the more he could avoid that, the better.

Kill La Hero: 15

In the lottery of Quirk’s Michi got on really special and annoying one. A living, sarcastic ribbon named Ares, who puts her into superpowered revealing outfits. But this won't stop the girl from fulfilling her dream of being a hero! Just watch her!
(But not too closely please!)
MHA MEETS KILL LA KILL!
Chapter 15: Let the Battles Begin
After Izuku won against Shinso, he was brought to Recovery Girl to fix his fingers.
Michi, Tenya and Ochaco still talked about how amazing Izuku had been, how he had managed to overcome the brainwashing and how happy they were for him moving up to the Quarter-Final Round.
That's when Ochaco saw Izuku coming to class 1A tribune.
"Oh, Deku! Good work!", she called and waved.
So fast no one could look as Michi jumped up from her seat and raced up to the boy.
"Izu-Chan!", she shouted happily and embraced him. "You were amazing!"
The green-haired boy blushed softly and hugged her tight back.
"Michi-Kun...thanks."
They stopped hugging, as Michi took his hand with the bandage fingers in hers, giving them a little kiss.
Izuku blushed harder but had a soft and loving look in his eyes.
"T-to kiss it better, mmh?", he stuttert.
Michi looked up, with the same eyes and nodded.
Both were clearly in lovey-dovey land.
All their classmates stared and sweatdropped at them.
Oh gods, kiss finally you idiots!, they all thought.
Sadly they didn't, a lot groaned silently, as Michi led Izuku to their seats beside Ochaco and Tenya.
Now the second battle took place.
Shoto Todoroki vs. Hanta Sero!
Hanta started the battle by using his tape to try to push Shoto out of bounds. However, Shoto responded by creating a huge pillar of ice, which completely immobilized Hanta and freed himself at the same time. Since Hanta couldn't move at all, he was declared the loser, and Shoto was declared the winner, advancing to the second round. Shoto then approached the almost frozen Hanta, apologized for his actions, and thawed him out with his firepower.
Michi and Izuku found each other eyes.
"Is it just me or-", began Michi.
"Does Todoroki look really sad?", enden Izuku.
Both their hearts got out to their classmate.
Since Shoto froze nearly the whole stage, it takes a while to melt it, but when it's ready it's time for Denki Kaminari vs. Ibara Shiozaki!
The third match of the first round ends quickly; Ibara defeats Denki by using her type advantage Quirk, Vine, to make his Electro Quirk backfire on him.
Kyoka facepalms hard at Denki's defeat as Monoma from 1B looks over to them and mocks them.
Then he gets knocked out by his classmate Itsuka Kendo, who apologises for him, being a brat.
Class 1A was just like what had happened?
That's when class 1A noted Izuku's analysis of the Quirks, writing it down in his notebook.
Just Michi didn't seem bothered and nodded along.
"They just finished, but Deku already thinking about countermeasures for them?", whisper-shoutes Ochaco to Michi.
Michi nods with a besotted look.
"Yeah isn't he amazing?"
All of class 1A deadpanned and thought the same: She is so gone for him!
"It's a hobby of his.", explains Michi, while Izuku theorizes about the Quirks to his heart contents. She would make sure, he wrote all down what goes through his head. "It's not every day he gets a chance to see amazing Quirks outside of those in our class."
"Really?", asked Ochaco.
"Yeah, he has even a whole notebook dedicated to my Quirk.", admitted Michi with red cheeks. You can clearly see how honoured she feels about this. "I bet he has something about your Quirk too. Izu-Chan?"
Only Michi's lovely voice could get Izuku out of his zone, so he turned bliking to her.
"Yeah, what is it Michi-Kun?"
"What do you have about Ochaco-Chan Quirk in your notebook?"
"Of course!", he showed the girls the page. "The Zero Gravity of Uraraka is amazing."
"That's true.", agreed Michi.
This made Ochaco blush.
"Aww, you two are so nice! I always thought you guys were amazing!"
Also an amazing and cute couple!, she added in her head, while Izuku and Michi thanked her and said she was amazing too.
Then it's time for the fourth match.
Their Tenya VS Mei Hatsume!
Both wore support items, but students of the hero course normally can only wear them when they have a petition like Aoyama.
However Tenya explain passionately how Mei said they should fight equally and that's why he agreed to wear them, this moves Midnight and she accepts it.
During their match, Mei takes the opportunity to advertise her support equipment and items.
After ten minutes of cat and mouse, Mei, feeling that she has effectively showcased her support gear to everyone, walks out of bounds.
Tenya wins as a result of this action, but he is not pleased with Mei using him for her own purposes.
"Tenya's earnest, so she probably said some things that sounded good to get him on board.", theorized Izuku shaking. "Hatsume's not just honest, she will also use any means to reach her goal. Amazing!"
Michi had an eyebrow raised and nodded along.
None of the two noted how Ochaco stood up and walked away.
Now comes the Fifth Match: Yuga Aoyama vs. Mina Ashido.
"I hope Mina wins, Aoyama goes on my nerves.", confessed Michi to Izuku.
"Don't tell me, it's because he is French and you Italian?"
"I plead the fifth!"
"Michi-Kun!"
The battle begins with Aoyama firing his navel laser at Mina, but she secretes acid from her feet and uses it to quickly slide across the stage.
Aoyama continues shooting beams at her, while Mina claims she already knows his weakness because they trained together during the Battle Trial.
Mina keeps dodging Aoyama's barrage of beams.
After he misses a rather large shot, his stomach begins to hurt, and Mina seizes the opportunity.
She throws acid onto his belt, breaking it and causing his pants to drop.
The girl takes advantage of the opening and finishes him with a strong uppercut.
She wins!
"God, it didn't need to see his underwear.", whines Michi and hides her face in Izuku's shoulder.
Amused he pats her head.
"There, there Michi-Kun, also you should get going, it's your turn now!"
"Oh right!"
With a quick cheek kiss to Izuku, who of course blushes, Michi raced down to the arena.
"Ares are you ready to face Momo?"
"Let's do it, whirlwind!"
"Now, we've got no time to lose! Let's move on to the sixth match!", announced Present Mich as Michi and Momo walked up the fighting stage. "Offense and defence in one body! The warrior princess is accompanied by the entity Ares! From the hero course, it's Massaro Michela alias Michi! Versus-- All-purpose Creation! She was admitted through recommendations, so her abilities are certified! From the hero course, it's Momo Yaoyorozu!"
Both girls stared at each other, thinking how to best beat their opponent.
Momo knew Michi was physically stronger than her she needed something to help her push the other girl out of the ring and also there was this new technique she showed during the cavalry battle.
Had Michi more surprises up her sleeve?
Michi and Ares just stared Momo down with their red eyes.
They formally burned.
N-No, I can't get demotivated because the two are so calm. I need time to create and then-
Then the battle started!
Surprised Momo gasped as Michi seemed to vanish, but the salmon-haired girl just ran as fast as she could towards Momo.
I'm sorry Momo, but this will be over!
Something hard hit Momo in the chest.
A fist!
Michi's fist!
The black-haired girl coughed and felt how some of her bones cracked and fell down on the floor.
Knocked-out.
Midnight waited a few seconds before she declared: "Yaoyorozu can't fight anymore, the winner is Massaro!"
"This was probably the fastest fight we have seen today. Massaro Michi and Ares are a force of nature!", shouted Present Mic enthusiastically, as Michi waved at the people celebrating her.
Momo was brought to Recovery Girl, even if Michi knew, she only hit the other girl where it was sure she could get knocked out.
Still, she felt a bit bad as she walked back to the class 1A tribune.
"Damn, your girlfriend is merciless.", said Ojiro to Izuku. "She didn't even bat an eye as she punched Momo out."
"Michi and Ares are the strongest Quirk Users I know. Even Kacchan can't beat her and he tried it often enough. I know she would win, it was not even a question.", answered Izuku, just to turn red and shriek. "M-Michi i-isn't my girlfriend, s-she is just my best friend."
"SUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!", chorused the whole of class 1A together.
"I don't believe you!", added Mineta.
That's when Michi returned.
"I hope Momo will be okay...so did I miss something guys?"
Izuku stood up and waved his hands around.
"N-Nothing, you missed nothing Michi-Kun!"
She blinked confused as she noted how Tenya and Ochaco were missing.
So she asked Izuku where they were.
He didn't know either, so the two searched for their friends.
They found them in the Player Waiting Room 2.
"Ochaco-Chan, Tenya!", greeted Michi as Izuku and her entered the room. "There you are."
Tenay bowed.
"I'm sorry I didn't watch your match Michi, I was worried for Ochaco."
"I'm sorry too, I should have supported you.", admits Ochaco ashamed. "How did it go?"
Izuku put a proud hand on Michi's shoulder, while she smiled at them.
"She knocked out Momo with one punch. Michi has qualified for the next round."
Tenya gave her his congratulations and Ochaco stood up to hug her friend.
Michi hugged her tight back and then took her face in her hands.
"So what is bothering you Ochaco-Chan, is it your fight with Bakugo?"
The brunette nodded.
In comfort, Michi took her hands and squeezed them.
"Ochaco-Chan, Bakugo may seem dangerous but when you know how to handle him, you can beat him. I did it often enough!"
Izuku nodded in agreement and showed her his hero notebook.
"Michi and I came up with a rough strategy, how you can use your Quirk to beat Kacchan. Please let us help."
Touched Ochaco looked at her friends before she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
She let go of Michi's hands and walked over to the door.
"Michi-Chan, Deku I admired you both so much. I keep seeing more and more amazing sides of you guys. During the cavalry battle, I thought it'd be easier to team up with friends, but now that I think about it, I might've been trying to rely on you two. That's why, when Tenya said he'd challenge Deku, it actually made me feel a little embarrassed."
The other started to protest, but Ochaco continued: "That's why it's fine. Everyone's facing the future and trying their hardest. That means we're all rivals, right? That's why, let's meet in the finals!"
Ochaco gave them a shaking thumbs up.
"Wait, Ochaco-Chan before you go!", Michi walked swiftly up to her and planted a soft kiss on her cheek.
The other girl blushed surprised, as the boys stared.
Izuku the most.
Michi didn't give cheek kisses to anyone.
So it had to mean something.
"This is not a good luck kiss, but a promise kiss!", explained Michi, her red eyes burning as she took Ochaco's hands and squeezed them. "I know you can beat Bakugo and you know why?"
"Why?"
"Because you are already an amazing hero. Your Quirk will demolish him."
Now tears gather in Ochaco's eyes and both girls hugged each other tightly.
"Break his fucking femur!"
"I will Michi-Chan!"
Both girls seemed to be burning like suns!
"Girls, breaking femurs is a bit too much!", told Tenya making his hand chop.
"Let them Tenya, that's a girl thing, I'm sure.", said Izuku. "Or at least a Michi and Ochaco thing."
After the boys wished Ochaco luck, the three who didn't fight got back to the tribune, while Ochaco had to face Bakugo now in the arena.
The match between Bakugo and Ochaco kicks off with Ochaco taking the initiative.
She lunges towards Bakugo, but he swiftly counters with an explosive attack.
As the dust settles, Bakugo attempts to seize Ochaco, only to discover that her jacket is all that's left.
Seizing the opportunity, Ochaco manoeuvres herself behind Bakugo to launch a surprise attack, but his lightning-fast reflexes allow him to fend her off with another explosive blast.
Despite the barrage of explosive attacks from Bakugo, Ochaco expresses her gratitude for his vigilance, as it enables her to put her plan into action - creating a distraction by manipulating the rubble using her Quirk.
She unleashes a meteor shower of debris, with the intention of launching a direct offensive using her Quirk.
However, Bakugo retaliates with a colossal explosion, annihilating Ochaco's meteor shower and sending her crashing to the ground.
Despite her valiant effort to rise, Ochaco's injuries overwhelm her, leading to her collapse.
Midnight attends to her and announces that Ochaco is unable to continue, declaring Bakugo as the victorious contender.
"GOOD FUCKING DAMN IT!", screams Michi. "SHE NEARLY HAD HIM! FUCK!"
The salmon-haired girl was standing up, waving angrily her fists around.
Izuku and Tenya can only silently agree.
And so the first round of the final was over and in the next round the Quarter-Final Round the matches were:
Izuku Midoriya vs. Shoto Todoroki
Tenya Ida vs. Ibara Shiozaki
Michela Massaro vs. Mina Ashido
Katsuki Bakugo vs. Eijiro Kirishima!

Perfect Scenario
summary: You, a super human, an excellent actor and a liar with debatable ethics; are having a hard time overcoming feelings no one new you were capable of. On top of it, you have to deal with your “arch enemy” who has dedicated himself on the way of ruining your chances at your new life.
pairing: Sherlock x superhuman!Reader
warnings: Nothing much, just a shitty chapter and spelling mistakes this time.
A/N: Not making the reader gender natural was a mistake. I didn't think I could do it so reader is female. Gif not mine. And if you can, please comment what I can improve about my grammer/writing, English is my second language:)
Previous chapter:
Chapter two: Disguise
“ So,” asked John, “ how was the date?”
“Fine.”
It took a moment to Sherlock to realise what he said.
“Wait no. John, no.”
“ Mhmp,” John continued typing on his blog. Pursing his lips, trying to hide his smile, he turned to Sherlock who was marching back and forth in front of the window for hours.
“ Is she the main suspect? “ asked John, seeming more serious now.
“ She seems so, yes.” answered detective, his thoughtful eyes didn’t leave the empty street.
John ‘hmph’ed again. The unbreakable silence was awkward. He tried for another conversation:
“ Are you waiting for- someone?”
“Y/N. She should’ve come so far. She’s my client-”
“Our client.” cut John.
“Our client. I told her I would help. How ungrateful of someone to be late when I offer to get them away with their parents’ murder!”
“ How did you convince her with this attitude?”
“ A caring warm smile is enough to let her guard down when she hasn’t had a family for years. She grew up with trust issues, of course one day she will want to know how it feels to trust someone. And also she is the main suspect of a murder and the best detective offers their help. you would accept too.”
***
You took a second look at your flat. The blue walls were now covered with family photos that you have just printed out yesterday and rooms were much messier than you would leave. Those were just a part of your disguise. You took a few steps closer to the photos. There were you, your mom and father; happy, on different vocations you have been. You looked at your mother; happy, smiling, with you, alive.
Than you looked at your father, whom you have photo-shopped into this beautiful memory last night. He was there when the photo was taken of course, it was a family vocation after all. He just didn’t like taking pics, at least that was what he said.
Now, years later after their death, you were getting sued again. For once again, you had to put on pictures on the wall. You had to make people believe you when you said you have always loved them. They had to believe you when you said it ripped you apart too. The facade you were putting on, it had to believable. They had to see you as a mess even tho it has been more than ten years. You shouldn’t get over their death if you’re innocent. You should be sad, unhealthy, a mess, you should be a walking soul to make them believe, you should wish to die with them.
Therefore, you had to leave pointless expectations aside to arrange the perfect scenario for the rest of your life. By perfect, I mean it. From the very start to your planned funeral, every single detail must be no different than a well-written book; and each pattern painted like an instance work of art. Variety of possibilities occurred against you, all calculated.
The whole evening went like this. Probably the most boring day of John Watson’s life.
From the beginning, you couldn’t avoid the Detective’s attention. So he was the first step. He wanted this, you thought. There was no reason to bring up an old case. If he was bored enough to get in your life, sure, you would love to play games!
Second step was your personality and attitude you will show people. You decided to be more normal, not so okay with murders type. You couldn’t let them know that you could kill people just by looking. You could also move objects. Uncontrollably. Including people. Shortly, you were still you but less homicidal, more ethical.
But the biggest threat is much more dangerous. It is being discovered. Who knew what government would use you for, if they found out? Would they lock you up for your crimes? Or would they make a weapon out of you? To kill more, to hurt more... Maybe they would test you first? Are you stoical? Are you immortal? O, and what if they start to hunt for more people like you? You have never met another one, but what if they found more?
All you knew was you could not afford to put your life in danger. You had no idea if you were immortal or not, which wasn’t a fact you wanted to learn soon.
To not to be the reason of the pain of the people you never knew, it had to be flawless and you had to be ready to sacrifice yourself.
Step three: Freestyle. It would be a foolish idea to follow a solid plan. You had to be changeable and manipulative alongside the events. Making them love you, false suspect, blackmailing or a fake suicide... plenty of solutions with endless possibilities. You were the scenarist of this play and the ending was up to you.
Never mind, it’s a nice afternoon and you have a detective to visit.
***
“ OH, Y/N! I didn’t expect you.” shouted Sherlock, making you want to smack the fake tone of his voice and the forced smile off his face. You didn’t of course, you faked too.
“Oh, Sherlock, is it a new client?” asked Mrs Hudson behind him. (you had done your research.)
“Sort of,”
“Yeah, ‘course I’m not willing to pay.” You teased, passing the Huffing Sherlock; you shook hands with Mrs Hudson while he closed the door hiding a hint of a smile from you.
You turned your head to the source of the sounds, John Watson typing on his laptop. The clicking enden as soon as you locked eyes with him. He got up with a confused, thoughtful impression and shook your hand. You couldn’t exactly read him, he carried too many emotions on his face at that moment. What could you say; impressed, shocked maybe? He found you suspicious and didn’t feel like hiding it.
“John Watson.” he introduced himself and smiled.
You walked through the old walls and climbed up the squeaking stairs. You found yourself in a living room, a characteristic living room. Xanthic(a new word for me) sunlight revealed years of dust dancing in the air, a violin was waiting to be played, it was left on a greyish-green chair, right in front of an old fashioned single seat. You heard the boiling kettle whistling along with the clicking sounds.
“Y/N L/N” you mirrored.
Meanwhile Sherlock was in a rush of making tea while you two were showing of forces. “ Tea?” Sherlock asked.
“Come on sit!” He turned to you. You stood there, with them, trying to figure out where to sit. You just walked a small circle middle of the room, like a lost duckling. Sherlock sighed loudly while they were waiting for your decision. “You may sit here,” he showed you John’s chair.
You sat, leaning to left arm of the chair, waiting for them to sit. Sherlock seated in front of you, putting the violin away. John wasn’t pleased that you had taken his seat, so he took a chair instead.
Sherlock looked at you and you looked at him; who was calculating you, his hands in prayer position. “So,” he started, “ you didn’t drink your tea,”
“ Don’t you trust me?”
“Don’t take it personal, I don’t drink anything with new people.”
He smirked. “You’re late.”
“For what? You didn’t give me a time.”
“And yet, you found me.”
“You’re famous."
Silence.
Silence.
Stare.
Blink.
Enough.
"So what? "
"What what?"
"You invited me to talk-or inform and now all you do is to stare? I consider it rude." You threw him an over-dramatic challenging look, which he returned with the same energy.
"I thought you could show me some of your tricks?" He suggested.
You chuckled, "What tricks do I have?" You said, holding a murderous(?) expression.
"You lockpicking skills are quite.... neat?"
"Oh yes!"
"Wait what? "
"You broke into 221B last night. I must say-"
"No I didn't?"
The conversation was too much for poor John to handle. DID A POSSIBLE MURDERER CASUALLY BROKE INTO HIS FLAT LAST NIGHT? OH, DOES SHERLOCK APPROVE? FINE THEN.
No kidding, you should've seen his face. He was filled with such antipathy and rage towards this young women, she and her upsetting energy send shivers down to his spine. She was unsettling in a supernatural way; like a fever dream, a nightmare. And there she was sat in his seat, right in front of his beloved flatmate, and John still could not find a way to hate this y/n.
"Don't be ashamed, I just want to know how." Insisted Sherlock.
"No seriously, I can break into people's houses. But I was home last night."
"Who do you visit when you 'aren't home'?"
When you finally stepped into your flat, a new note welcomed you on your counter. Two words were written on the fancy paper:
"Next week?"

You Are my Happiness: ***Seamus Finnigan x Reader Soulmate Request ***
Can i get a request for a Seamus Finnigan x reader where the reader is a Gryffindor and she produces a patronus and then finds out Seamus has the same one as her. Kinda like a soulmate au
Here you are my little anon!! I hope you don’t mind but I changed up the request just a little. All the same, I loved writing for this little class clown! xxx
***I tried my best to write for his accent... but I married an British man... not an Irish man so my Irish accent is a bit rusty! Sorry!! xxx ***
Hogwarts on Valentine's day could make any cynical singleton sick. The floating hearts, enchanted cupids flying round young lover’s heads and rose petals falling from the ceiling. Different Hogwarts couples had taken to parading their love around the halls the whole week leading up to the grand event.
The Lover’s Patronus ball.
A traditional Hogwarts event that occurred for every 7th year student, encouraging to help them find their life’s soulmate. A right of passage for any witch or wizard. The event starts with the Dance of the Patronus. Each student conjures their patronus all at the same time, hoping to find the other student whose patronus matches their own. It was said to mean that as patronuses would forever be sealed together so would their owners.
It was enough to make you sick.
You couldn't decide what made it more revolting, the fact that you were surrounded by overwhelming romance or that you were irrefutably in love with your best friend, Seamus Finnigan.
You feel two hands grasp your arms from behind. The suddenly surprise makes you jump into the air. Turning quickly, you feel another sort of flying feeling, but nothing you want to come down from. Seamus stood laughing at your reaction and his laughter filled your soul like sweet honey. You scrunch your nose at him and swing a friendly punch towards his shoulder. Seamus continues to laugh at your pathetic attempts at revenge and gives a feeble attempt to block it.
“You scared the hell out of me.”
He gives you that lovable mischievous grin and you can feel your admiring smile spread like butter across your face, soft and wide.
Seamus and you had met in your first year and had an instant chemistry and everyone noticed. Between all the snarky back n’ forth banter and late night common room chats, you two always seemed to be the focus of Gryffindor gossip. The fact that it was rare to see one without the other, everyone was almost certain that your patronuses were guaranteed to match. At first it was something that you shrugged off, but slowly over time you found yourself hoping they were right. What you wouldn’t give to know that Seamus was your lifelong soulmate. He leans against the wall next to you as he joins you in your spectator sport.
“A whole giant castle for em to spread round and ey all decide to congregate here in front of us.” Seamus pretends to throw up, gesturing his disgust spewing from his mouth. You roll your eyes but silently stare longingly at him, wishing the two of you could be also locked in a lover’s embrace.
“Umm...yeah. How dare they.” You scoff back at him. Seamus leans into the same wall as you and stands closely behind you.
“So are ye ready to see what sorry sod is destined to be yer mate?” He cooed into your ear softly. You shake your head.
“I dunno, can’t wait to see what girl gets stuck with your monkey face.” You turn your head slightly to see Seamus pull his hands quickly to his heart as if wounded. He staggers back harder into the wall and slowly begins to slide down, as if your words were killing him softly. When he notices that his dramatisation has little to no effect on you, he quickly gets up and puts a friendly arm around your shoulders and leans his head closer to yours.
“Hate to see you enden up with one of these sorry Johnnies.” He nods his head over to the love sick puppies wondering the halls. You smirk and take a hand to push his face way and you can feel the wide smile in your palm.
“Why’s that? Got someone specific in mind for me?” You turn to face him, interested to see who Seamus thinks your potential soulmate is. He cooly shoves his hands in his pockets and nervously teeters on the balls of his feet.
“Well for starters, yer soulmate’s gotta be charmin and witty.”
“Oh course.” You agree, liking where this is heading. “Go on. Witty, Charming and…” You encourage him to continue.
“He’s gotta be the funniest git in school. Gotta make you beam.” He brings a hand up to your chin and gently presses his thumb, as if to turn on your glorious and bright smile. As he sees this he lets out a silent but deadly sensual sigh. “There you are…” He breathes out, captivated by what he’s witnessing.
Somehow without either of you noticing, the moment passing between you two has become extremely intimate. Seamus holds your face, close to this own and your gazes completely locked onto each other. Your bodies now facing each other and threatening to collide into each other eventually. However, the moment is suddenly cut premature as Professor McGonagall comes around the corner, calling for attention.
“ALL SEVEN YEARS TO THE GREAT HALL, COME, COME NOW. MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR WANDS READY.” She tuts along past you two, but the moment has cleared and Seamus moves back to an appropriate space. You look down, cursing McGonagall under your breath as you quickly look back up at Seamus.
“Well good luck mate.” He puts a hand on the top of your head and ruffles your hair like a child. Devastatingly you try to smile at him and follow the rest of the crowd into the great hall.
“I can’t hold my wand, I’m sweating too much Harry. It keeps slipping from my hand.”
“Get a grip mate.”
Seamus can hear the voices of his friends around him but he is too focused on the task ahead. It wasn’t like him to take things so seriously, but he was determined to come out of this with you as his soulmate. In his head flashes of your absolutely radiant smile and your overly loving eyes. He could live with those for the rest of his life.
“Oye, Seamus.” He blinks and look over at the voice calling for him. His best friend Dean stands next to him and laughs. “Thinking of someone specific are we?” Seamus looks down and back up at Dean, he rubs a calming thumb along the length of his nose.
“I’m just wondering what yer all gonna do when all these ladies end up matching my patronus.” Dean laughs at his friend’s confidence, he knew his true feelings for you.
“WE ARE ABOUT TO BEGIN.” Seamus’s joke was interrupted by another announcement from Professor McGonagall. “CAN I PLEASE HAVE YOU ALL THINK OF A OVERWHELMINGLY HAPPY MEMORY? IT NEEDS TO BE A STRONG AND POWERFUL FEELING.”
By far Seamus had a brilliant life. Looking back through all his memories, there wasn’t many that didn’t make him happy. Though as he racked his life for overwhelming feelings of sincerely pure happiness, he couldn’t find anything that filled his soul enough. Finally he reached a recent memory, something that made him feel a glowing resemblance of pure bliss. Days before the Lover’s Patronus Ball, Seamus and you had been in the common room for your nightly hang out. The subject of the dance afterwards had come up and you hang your head. With remorse you had told Seamus that you had never learned to dance. Without thinking Seamus had grabbed your hands and pulled you into his body. Leading you into a dance without missing a beat. The feel of your body pressed firmly against his, his manly hand wrapping itself around your dainty palm and the look of content in your eyes had given him peace like he never knew. As the thought of the feeling that had stirred in this memory, he could feel utter happiness fill his toes and overflow to the tip of his head. He could hear others around his shouting the incantation and he tried not to focus on the fact that your patronus might find another.
She doesn’t belong with anyone else but me.
With that he himself shouted the incantation and opened his eyes to see a wispy, almost ghost like fox. Seamus held his wand out, not sure how to get it to move. The fox sat looking up at Seamus. It turned to look around the room, curious at all the other animals moving around it. Looking back up to Seamus, it tilted it’s head as if to ask why he had summoned him if all he was going to do was stand around. Seamus bent down and looked the patronus, it curiously looked back at him.
“Okay… I know yer suppsoda find yer match, but I’m hopin yer can just find Y/N and pretend to connect with her patronus.” The fox patronus just kept looking at him. Seamus carefully looked around him and could see couple had now began to gather together. All around him were whirling and fading patronuses. Some that found their match and others who were roaming around aimlessly while their owners run after them. Seamus looked back to the fox to find that it was no longer in front of him, the stream that connected his wand to the patronus was his only guide and he began to follow it hoping that it had listened to his plea.
You stood on edge as your patronus sat completely still grooming itself. Who else would have a fox as a patronus? As you scanned the others, you strained to find the one that you wanted to connect with.
What if his patronus had already connected with someone else? What if your happiest memory was just fantasy? What if the two of you weren’t meant to be?
As you thought of these pending possibilities you began to chew on your thumb nail nervously. Suddenly a voice broke up the tension.
“Well I guess yer’d better get used to this monkey face, beautiful.” You stood like a statue as you looked back up to see Seamus standing over confidently in front of you, he ran a hand along his jawline, modeling the prize you had just won. That smile that Seamus loved about you shown as you shook your head. Looking down in front of you both, you saw that where there was one fox patronus, there was two. They jumped around each other, continuously disappearing and reappearing as they played.
“I dunno…” You laughed as you strolled up to him. “You did say I needed to be with someone witty.” He threw his head back and laughed aloud as he thanked Merlin it turned out to be you.
“Well it’s a good thing I make up for it in charm and humour.” Seamus leans in and plants a sweet kiss on your lips.
“And that lasses and laddies is how I cheated at the Dance of the Patronus and bagged myself my life’s happiness! To Life’s Happiness!” Seamus raised his champagne flute in the air as the guests at your wedding followed suit. With the clinking of glasses, Seamus leaned down and the two of you kissed with just as much passion as he had described in the story of your great love story. As the guests go back to eating their meal, Seamus sits down next to you. Leaning in to him, you whisper into your husband’s ear.
“You love telling that story don’t you?”
“Of course I do love.”
“Darling, you know you didn’t cheat at the Dance of the Patronus... we had the same patronus.” He smirks back and you and you already know the answer he is going to give to you as you heard it just as many times as the original story.
“But I did tell it to go and find you.” As you have done many, many a time to Seamus, you rolled your eyes. He puts a finger to his lips, as if to ask you to keep his longest running secret.
“No one needs to know ALL the details of the story.”
“You are very luck you are so charming Finnigan.”
“And you’re lucky I’m also witty.” As Seamus turns back to his plate of dinner, you recall is story and how many times you have heard it, noticing that there was still one detail he never let you in on.
“There is just one thing you never told me about that story.” He turns back to you and takes your hand in his.
“What’s that, Wife?”
“What was your happy memory?” Seamus takes a moment and stares loving back at you. He runs a hand down your cheek.
“On the count of three.. the both of us say what our happy memory was.”

That same year, Daini Seikosha sent out observatory 103 movements for certification and 73 movements at 36,000 BPH, despite no competition in Neuchatel. The characteristic panorama date from Glashütte Original shows the date in black Arabic numerals on an ivory-colored background at 4 o'clock. The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides. The case back with sapphire crystal offers the best view of the masterful finishes and characteristic details of the finest German watchmaking art, such as the Glashütte stripe finish, the double G brand logo on the decentralized rotor, the blued screws and t fake watcheshe noble hand-engraved and two-tone galvanized balance cock.
An imposing travel chronograph and an example of functionality that is characterized by ease of use. To juggle between the time zones, including automatic date correction of the local time in both directions without affecting the minute precision, all you have to do is pull out the crown and turn it forwards or backwards (with one click per hour). Further travel comfort: based on the 24-hour hand, the rotating height ring, labeled with 24 city names, enables the time in all time zones of the world to be recorded at a glance.
Unbelievable that here at watch blog Luxus we managed to miss out on this gorgeous model from Bovet. The Dimier Récital 15 was introduced in 2014 and combines a jumping hour, retrograde minute, a seconds cage and an impressive caliber. So it's high time we devoted ourselves to this model.
Moving on, we see that the spring barrel is attached to the gear train to transfer energy. Below the gear train, immediately behind the dial, you can see a large wheel driving the power reserve disc directly from the barrel.
By pressing the start / stop button again, the clutch lever is pivoted slightly and the chronograph is stopped. So that the measured time can be read perfectly, a small locking lever also ensures that the two stop hands stop exactly at their last position. This stop process can be repeated as often as desired using the top pusher. This enables additi watches replicaon stops. The chronograph is only reset to zero when the pusher at 4 o'clock is pressed. Here, too, the ingenious construction of this chronograph newcomer becomes clear.
They are powered by the hand-wound manufacture caliber α (Alpha), which enables a running time of approx. 43 hours. Fears
Okay so, today or rather tonight’s topic will be fears. Uh, I was afraid of heights for a while when I was younger, but I outgrew it sort of. Not that I’m not still rather terrified when standing in a high place, looking down.
I’ve grown up with a very torn and broken family, who suffered from loss a lot. In the way that we had three deaths in the span of two years. My younger cousin lost both his parents in the span of those two years. His mother committed suicide when he was 4 years old. I don’t remember it affecting my life much, only that we hung out a lot more often then we used too, I was 5 at this time and we were best buds. It was around this time we found out his father had terminal cancer, my mom helped out around his house a lot in the next year, and my cousin started relying on me for things, not even important things, but I felt the need to be there for him when he missed his mother.
About two years late my father suddenly died, and me being 7 years old, I still couldn’t quite understand the whole concept of death. A week or two my cousins father passed away from the cancer, which had eaten away at him for two years. My cousin moved in with his grandparents on his father’s side of the family, my side. My need to be there for my cousin returned, I started pushing my own problems away, thinking that he had it worse, I still had my mom. So I started focusing on his needs and feelings, if we encountered something scary I would ‘face my fear’ or at least ‘suck it up’ because I didn’t want him seeing me that way. I wanted to be someone he could rely on, which meant that I couldn’t afford to be too scared of something, in case he needed me. He of course grew up to be bigger than me, which made my mindset change up a bit. Instead of me sort of ignoring my fears to show him that I was going to be okay, I enden up with the whole ‘if I can do it, then so can you’.
In reality I’m afraid. I’m afraid of a vast amount of things. Myself included. I’m afraid to open up. I’m afraid of actual physical pain, in the sense that even though I’ve wanted to hurt myself a lot of times, for being scared or to feel in control of a certain situation, but I’ve been too afraid of the pain to actually doing it. I’m afraid of feeling my emotions. I’m afraid of not feeling my emotions. I’m afraid to burden the people I care about. I’m in general afraid a lot of times, by a lot of things.

LMP1-Rennen, FIA Langstrecken-Weltmeisterschaft WEC, Lauf 8 von 9, Shanghai (China)
Hart erkämpfte WM-Titel für Porsche in Shanghai
Stuttgart.

Australia - Episode II
So.
Bingo.
Righto.
I’m sitting in the train from Sydney to Dubbo right now and have about 6 hours to kill, so I might as well write something for the blog again. But before I get to why I suddenly popped up in this country and in this train again, completely out of nowhere, let me get you up to speed. It’s been over one and a half years since I brought my exchange year in Australia to a successful end, and as far as I can remember, I brought the blog to an abrupt and unexplained halt, just a few weeks before I left the country. Who would have thought I’d need it again anyway…
So my last post was about the winter holidays, not a word on my flight back to Europe, the farewell, and so on. And there would be enough material to write something, just take my „excess luggage incident“ at Sydney Airport for example, which involved me wearing two hats, two jackets, my Rotary blazer, carrying a didgeridoo and much more with me for the rest of the trip, just to name one highlight… People who know me know how much those loose ends bug me! But writing a fully fledged blog post was too much work for me at the time, as I had a lot of other things to take care of and to distract me after my arrival. I (intentionally) tried to forget about the incompleteness of the blog, and told myself that „it’s better this way anyway, since the last post would mark the official end of this amazing time I had“.
Unfortunately this poor excuse won’t work for me any longer, since I need the blog again. The time I spent in Germany between the two trips could easily fill another blog in and of itself, take for example my two family holidays to Austria and Brittany (during the holiday I met up with Nicole and Colin Shanks again!), my school retreat to Barcelona, my school ski trip with my sports course, my short holiday in London with a friend of mine, Gamescom, my work at a wine restaurant/shop, my senior years at school, my very successful degree (even though I skipped year 11), my drivers license, my amazing German friends and the many parties we had, my girlfriend … I could go on. Especially 2016, a year which was pretty rough for the world at times, was one of my favorite years ever. One could say that I had a great and thrilling life since I boarded the plane to Australia in August 2014, something I could not be more grateful for, and for now it seems like it will keep going like this for a while.
But back to Australia. During my time in Germany, my family made the decision to spend our family holiday 2017 in Australia. At the time, we were planning a trip around the country, quite similar to the safari I already did during the exchange. Of course there would also be a little visit to Dubbo, to see my lovely host families again and introduce them to my family, to show my family around, and so on. It became clear to me that I would only have mere 3 days to see all my friends and host family members again. So I came up with a plan to extend these 3 days significantly, since my time in school would end 3 months before the start of the holiday, at the end of March. What if I just fly over there, spend the 3 months with a small internship, and my family just follows me? Sounds good. I started looking for internships, and it just so happens that my little „network“ down under made that surprisingly easy for me, as my host dad Colin was able to offer me an internship at his company „Custom Steel Frames Dubbo“, which I gladly accepted. Even though I still don’t fully understand what it is I will be doing for the internship, it will certainly be interesting and valuable for my future career.
And so the story continues! I will try to post something on here every now and then, starting with a post about my trip to Dubbo. I hope you’ll enjoy reading! :-)
