Review of my Sailor Pro Gear Regular Fountain Pen
I have had the pleasure of exploring the world of Sailor fountain pens, and it has been quite the journey. Initially, I found myself needing time to adjust to the unique feedback these fountain pens offer. At first, I was unsure if I enjoyed it, but as time went on, I began to develop a deep appreciation for it. This newfound appreciation has even sparked my interest in expanding my collection with more Sailor fountain pens.
When people liken the experience of writing with a Sailor fountain pen to that of using a sharp pencil, I couldn't agree more. While some may perceive it as scratchy, I personally find the writing experience to be smooth, albeit not as buttery as with Pilot nibs. Trying out a Sailor fountain pen is crucial in determining if it aligns with your writing preferences. It may take some time for this fountain pen to truly grow on you.
Upon unboxing my Sailor fountain pen, I was immediately impressed. However, I did encounter some initial struggles with the feedback until I dedicated more time to using it. My nib preference is either medium or broad. I purchased a medium nib assuming it would suffice. To my surprise, it wrote thinner than expected, so I would recommend considering going up a nib size to what you would normally use.
The allure of Sailor fountain pens, especially the Pro Gear line with its captivating array of colors, special editions, and limited editions, is simply irresistible. I am particularly drawn to the modern and contemporary design of the Pro Gear, which not only looks sleek but also feels incredibly comfortable in hand. While I have yet to try the slim version, my regular Pro Gear has proven to be a delightful companion for my writing adventures.

My main goal with this Tumblr account was to show you "everything I find cute on a daily basis", it's literally what's written in French in my bio and for some reason, I made it a coffee account 😅
Here's one of my favorite things besides coffee and flowers : stationery ! We were looking for some in the Da Nang area to decorate our little travel notebooks and came across this tiny store selling all kinds of stickers, notebooks, pens and so on. As we rather needed something that could stick memories in our journals, we decided to go for maskintapes ! Aren't they just too cute ? What do you think ?
I will show you later our diaries and how we arranged them !

Wip r.dr2 verse in the works: really inspired by Ouachita River by Mary Heather Hickman. Similar background of mother using Astrid as a way to rise in her social class, but probably moved between Strawbery and Saint Denis. FInally settled on Saint Denis for the longterm. Astrid's family attached themselves to multiple different last names (usually those of the elite in the area), so her whole background is a bit murky. Uncle incident happens, Astrid hides the body in the bayou outside Saint Denis and runs away. She joins the Dark Brotherhood not long after as she continues to kill people betwen her travels. The Dark Brotherhood is sort of this secret organization and they occassionally travel out to towns all over, meeting in secret with their clients (basically the same way they go about contracts in her main verse).

the idea of colette becoming a ranger has latched onto my entire fucking brain and wont let go :’)
she definitely doesnt want to be in a position of champion like her parents were, as she knows how that whole thing went for them. despite her intelligence and natural sense for battle, the other things that come with it (meetings, travel only for diplomatic reasons, etc) just isn’t for her at all. she is interested solely in the battle aspect, and that’s it. but her being a ranger? able to protect wild pokemon and the environment with the strength/bond of her team? helping trainers that are lost in the wilderness/helping injured people/pokemon? that seems so up her alley. she gets to travel and be out in nature which she thoroughly enjoys, and she can also dabble in tracking down some of the world’s strongest trainers to battle them (that way, she can come back home and maybe, hopefully, beat her parents in a battle too). IT JUST FITS.... i really wasnt sure what to do with her as far as her ambitions, and me being ‘stuck’ in regards to her plans was what was making her feel stuck too. but i think ive got it now and i just. 🥺

Anything and Everything
I never really know how to begin posting things, so I thought I'd write about something I like. This is my Traveler's Notebook. I've had this notebook for a little over a decade now, and I couldn’t imagine not having it at this point. It’s my commonplace book, a collection of my thoughts, ideas, recipes, quotes, reminders, ephemera, and anything else that I might want to remember later on.
For the uninitiated, the TN system is just a big piece of leather, and you buy notebook inserts for it to customize it to your needs. You can customize it whichever way works best for you, or repurpose it entirely if you decide to use it for something else. It’s very versatile.
I decided to go the analog route, physically writing on paper, because keeping thoughts inside an app or file feels very impersonal and I lose interest quickly. I definitely keep more information in digital notebooks, but I found a lot of that was less useful to me.
Weaning myself away from tech, as a huge lover of tech, was challenging to me but it has been very rewarding to relearn skills I lost over time, like having legible handwriting. When was the last time you sat down and wrote a letter to someone?
Before my TN, I used a Hobonichi. If I'm being honest, I mostly bought it because I'm a big fan of minä perhonen, and I discovered that Hobonichi has regular collabs with minä perhonen for cover designs. The above is the 'wood bird' cover, paired with the Sailor Pro Gear Slim Dragon Palace fountain pen. I've since sold both these beautiful artifacts, but using them was such a fun experience to me as a stationary nerd.
When the year comes to an end, I refresh my TN, then archive and label my old inserts with the year they were used. The idea of having a little archive of all your thoughts and interests that you had running through your head in previous years really helps you see how much you've changed as a person, even if you don't really notice those changes in significant ways.
