Been sorting out my Sims 2 hood pairings:

🌳 Pleasantview (PV) – using @strangetomato's PV with a twist, paired with Sim State University (SSU), Downtown (DT), and Bluewater Village (BV).

🛸 Strangetown (ST) – @chrisnewbie's PSP version, linked with La Fiesta Tech (LFT), Viper Canyon (VC), and Desiderata Valley (DV) using @katatty's DV makeover.

🎭 Veronaville (VV) – paired with Academie Le Tour (ALT), Belladonna Cove (BC), and Riverblossom Hills (RH) with @katatty's RH makeover.

All hoods include all vacation destinations obviously. I also plan to use @katatty's DT and uni hood makeovers in the future.

I literally have only played 1 household of s3 pleasantview 😭 and I'm much further in to s3 strangetown. I want all the saves to be on the same page and have finished rotation 1 and I'm hoping by the time i finish rotation 1 for all of them I'll make a better schedule for playing each save

hello everyone! my first official post here is a gift of four lots i spent this weekend building. they range from 3 to 8 (... i know) bedrooms, and are meant to go together as a small 'neighborhood' of sorts.

in my own personal strangetown, i've used hoodreplacer to change the terrain (this one specifically) to have more roads available, so these were created for that in mind, however these lots could easily be used in any other setting you wish! i think they'd be super cute in the monty side of veronaville.

Uberhood 2024 Update By AnotherPlumbob (CC free)

The Uberhood is an ongoing PROJECT where I’m creating a Cc-free savefile, with all the worlds and lore from The Sims 2 ported to The Sims 4. 

NOTE: In this update I've revamped PLEASANTVIEW only - if you were interested in the other worlds or premades, please note they remain exactly as they were in the previous versions.

It currently includes

1.- Remade Worlds

Pleasantview (Newcrest+Willow Creek)

Strangetown (Strangerville+Oasis Springs)

Veronaville (Windenburg)

Bluewater Promenade (Magnolia Promenade)

Three Lakes (Granite Falls)

Bluewater Bay [only partially built] (Brindleton Bay)

All the career lots (detective, hospital and science lab).

BEWARE: the rest of the worlds are either empty, half built or a mess in general.

2.- Families

The save includes all the premade families as well as the iconic townies that lived in those worlds in The Sims 2 times. They all have jobs, relationships, sentiments, lifestyles, reputations, etc. For Pleasantview sims only I've also included more lore in the form of milestones, added traits, midlife crisis, etc.

3. Required packs and How to Install (PLEASE READ)

THE SAVE IS CC-FREE BUT ALL EXPANSION, GAME PACKS,STUFF PACKS AND KITS RELEASED UP UNTIL MARCH 2024. 

If you don’t have all packs, sims may be half naked, and/or bald and stuff may be missing. Install at your own risk. 

In order to install:

BACK UP YOUR SAVES.

Download the the SAVE file.

Put the save in your SAVES folder.  Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4 > Saves. I changed the name of the file so that it will hopefully not overwrite any of your saves (including the previous v1). If your system prompts you to overwrite a save, do not click yes. Just change the name of the save (keep it 8 numbers but change the numbers) and try again.

Optional: Put the .package file (StrangetownTexts.package) in your mods folder. This file is used to change the Strangerville mystery a bit, and turn it into the Strangetown mystery (with custom texts, references to the Bella mystery, etc.). Please install it if you want to have some clues on what happened to Bella!! 

4. Play Order

There’s really no set play order but note that:

1.- Brandi Broke is pregnant and will give birth in 3 days regardless of who you play and regardless of whether aging is on or off, so play with her first if you want to be there for the birth.

2.- Same thing applies to Pascal Curious, who’s also pregnant at the start of the save.

5. Disclaimer and TOU

I’m just one person and there may be some bugs here or there, or naked sims or whatever. Feel free to report any bugs you find but I will only fix them if I consider them super relevant or game breaking, otherwise the save is provided as is and you install it at your own risk.

Also please don't waste your breath asking me to do X world, or add lore to Veronaville or Strangetown or whatever, because I will only do it if and when I'm inspired to do it - and the requests quite honestly stress me out.

We're FINNALY back with the final version of the Strangeview - new playable neighborhood based on @budgieflitter crazy idea to mix Pleasantview and Strangeview into one. UPDATE 9 (26.02.25 9p.m. CET): -some small fixes (moved things so You can get to the telescopes at Broke-Dreamers; Darren dont think that he cheats on Darleen when in love; lowered Darren career level and skills to be consistent with the family description) -changed Broke-Dreamers description a little, because it confused a lot of people UPDATE 8 (18.02.25 10a.m. CET): -ADDED THE SUBURB VERSIONS!! -fixed Goth attic UPDATE 7 (14.02.25 2p.m. CET): -fixed Lucy Burb lifetime want -added interesting recessive genes for Jennifer, Lucy, Angela and Lilith

But REMEMBER to first delete Bella from "Bendett" (Townies) family. Without it IT WONT work out.

UPDATE 5 (13.02.25 2p.m. CET): -fixed relation between Dustin and Beau so they fully recognize each other as family -fixed relations between Dirk ---> Dustin, Beau so they fully don't recognize each other as family -restored graves on Goth flat and Cemetery --> its clearly aesthetic thing tho, You can restore them if You want using "Urnstone Spawner" from modthesims

UPDATE 4 (12.05.25 8p.m. CET): It turned out, that suspiciously Brandi was not pregnant... I updated the files. Now You can: -redownload the neighborhood -go to Insimenator --> Reproductive ---> Have baby with neighbor ---> Skip Broke. You can also skip (hehe) to the second or third trimester if You want. UPDATE 3 (12.02.25 11a.m. CET): Fixed wrong townie genetics - originally made by EA - e.g Kaylynn Langerak have black hair, but in DNA she has blond hair. The neighborhood comes in two versions:

V1 With Bella as a townie as in Clean Pleasantview

V2 With missing Bella as in OG Pleasantview (based on April Black video, debunking how it's actually done, that Bella is missing)

The neighborhood is for UC or LC; it is a maxis match neighborhood, except few recommended mods/CC below.

The townies and sims have slightly updated looks to match the Strangetown vibe.

Almost every lot was build by @peanuttysims and I think he did an AMAZING job. He've got such a talent!!!

Every house is a combination of both family houses of OG sims.

The Neighborhood comes with a few new lots, every one of them is done in Strangetown vibe. There is crappy "Gas Station"; Trailer Park as a apartment lot; Club/Restaurant in the old factory; a Strangeview Cemetery with a few graves of the deceased; a Pleasantview park made into Strangetown climate.

Welcome to Pleasantown !

People move to Pleasantown hoping to find peace and tranquility... and not knowing about the nice mess they just got themselves into. Rivalries, tension and strange events are a common sight in this town... is it true that aliens live among us? Did people really go missing? Can anything be done to get the neighborhood feeling good again, or will the drama drive all the inhabitants away?

This was inspired by a post by @budgieflitter and I thought the idea was super cool. I added some townies, gave the lots a refresh, and here we are. Our favorite Sims from Strangetown, in an alternate timeline where they live in the Pleasantview setting and their lives took an entirely different direction. The only big difference between Budgie's Pleasantown and mine is that Ajay is deceased in this hood ; I tried to make the rest as faithful to their post as possible.

 INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS : • For the main hood, copy the PLST folder to your [Your Name] / Documents / EA GAMES / The Sims 2 / Neighborhoods folder. • For the subhood, copy the SPST folder to your C: / Program Files (x86) / EA GAMES / The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection / Best of Business / EP3 / TSData / Res / NeighborhoodTemplate folder. You will have to add it to your primary neighborhood as a business district.

The hood has seven playable families, all the townies from Maxis Strangetown and the NPCs from the DS game. I rebuilt the Pink Flamingo with some pics I found as a reference, and it is owned by none other than Hoot Howell ! Yup, he's there.

The hood also comes with a French version, for those whose game is in that language (j'ai pensé à vous les mecs, j'ai même fait l'effort de faire des jeux de mots pourris avec les noms des ex-maris d'Olivia Chimère, ce que la VF originale n'avait pas fait).

A set of clothes for AF that I plundered from Nikki041498's TSR and edited in various ways, from simple bump map removal to complete remeshing. I selected them for my Strangetown's Crystal Vu (no clue if she's ever gonna have much of a role in the neighborhood but at least she'll be decked out in fabulous painted-on jewelry).

Everything is for AF only. All meshes are low-poly, they have fat and preg morphs. Previews and details under the cut.

Textures from here, here & here. They were originally on the AF naked top mesh and had harsh underboob lines which I wasn't a fan of, so I put them on a new mesh. I also removed the bump maps so the textures look softer (and files are smaller). Comparison:

Textures from here & here. As the tops above, they were originally on the AF naked top mesh; I put them on a new mesh with a bit more bulk. Also removed bump maps. Polycount: 1,236.

These I did not edit at all except to compressorize, sortindex and make the file names legible. They come from here, here, here. They're on the afbottomwidejeans mesh so no mesh is required, however I recommend you get CatOfEvilGenius's default replacement mesh with better bone assignment and added preg morph.

Textures from here, I removed the bump maps. These needed a complete remesh as they were originally on a mesh whose fat and preg morphs were very strangely broken.

The original mesh also had a whole apron which the recolors alpha-edited off. I removed it, lowering polycount from 2,652 to 1,932.

So I'm still writing a week later, and a decent amount. And I still have a significant amount I've written previously for the next 3-4 chapters. Now that making the images isn't impossible anymore (I still have less time to devote to it, but the game works and that's huge), it makes me wonder if I could maybe...

I'm not going to make any promises, but I'm also not going to start playing any other hoods. If I want to post sim stuff, it'll be something set in the universe of Strangetown, Here We Come. (JRO Family is extremely tempting, of course, but I'm gonna stick with the plan for now.)

There are elements of my story that I had planned to write and are honestly a lot less interesting to me now. There were tangents and side plots. Oh boy were there ever. In the interest of possibly maybe getting to the end of the story I've always planned to tell at the centre of it all, I might have to acknowledge that I'm simply gonna drop some threads. I might explain what they would've been... if I can even remember. I might find a way to time skip or summarize in a satisfactory way as well. Maybe. But at the end of the day, if I'm going to work on it, it's going to be the parts that matter the most to me.

All that to say that I may give it an honest shot. Stranger things have happened. I can't imagine the thrill I would get posting again after an 8 year break!

The Sims 2 PSP Cut Content: Part 1

I had been looking for the best way to implement this info on the Sims Wiki (but these are cut Sims, so there's not really a place for them? Or maybe someone else can do it). I've also been working on some videos talking about them. (I love watching these types of videos and prefer that visual format) but at this rate who knows when I'll finish it. So here we go! If you love Strangetown and crave any ounce of lore that you can get like me, here's a few townies. They even have their own secrets! Please read p6tgel's post to get all the info about the cut character TA7, everything I know about him is over there, so I don't have anything to add here. All I'm going to say is... I remember wanting to find out so badly who Mister Smith's friend was after playing The Sims 2 PSP for the first time. I'm so glad they actually did add more to the story. Learning more about the alien society and getting another title (like Pollination Technicians) just makes me want a Sixam neighborhood even more lol go read about it!!

Missing Kine Society Cult Members

Tunak Tun

Tunak is the only cut character that I could find photo evidence of in an old screenshot. He is a cut Kine Leader (like Sara Starr), as seen in his brown robe talking to Bull Dratch. The schedule file for the Kine Dairy indicates that Tunak would have spawned only during the day.

Unfortunately, it's a view of his back, but his character file confirms this appearance. (just want to say... the details on the Kine robes are actually beautiful. The crunched down quality we got in the final release makes them look like rags) Gender: 0 = female, 1 = male. The eye color is only specified if they're not the default brown. (I'll be using the Sims 2 PC to recreate them, as it shares a lot of assets with the PSP version)

Tunak Tun's Details

Bio: "A member of the Kine Society." social = 7, intimidation = 1, personality = 1, His social and intimidation scores are on the lower end for Deadtree locals, so social games aren't as difficult. He has the Air personality type. His topic sets (interests) are cow, cow milk, cow bell, cow beast, full moon, and crystal ball. A visual of these:

Tunak Tun's Secrets

 (Personal): "Has been known to sneak in a burger or two on the sly."

 (Intimate): "Likes to wear loose robes for that 'fresh and ventilated' feeling."

 (Dark): "He actually just made up his other two Secrets. He's a pathological liar."

According to the game code, Tunak Tun would also count towards the goal to "Earn the Trust of a Kine Leader [Relationship 4]", just like Sara Starr and Sinjin Balani.

Zen Mu

Zen Mu is regular Kine Society member that wears a white robe. The schedule file for the Kine Dairy indicates that Zen would have spawned only during the night.

I went through every face template available in the Sims 2 PSP CAS and I can't find Zen Mu's (might be hidden like some hairs/clothes are) and I don't see the stubble hair in the PC version.

Zen Mu's Details

Bio: "A member of the Kine Society." social = 7, intimidation = 1, personality = 2, Their social and intimidation scores are on the lower end for Deadtree locals, so social games aren't as difficult. They have the Water personality type. Their topic sets (interests) are cow, cow milk, cow bell, and cow beast. A visual of these:

Zen Mu's Secrets

 (Personal): "Severe lactose intolerance has made her unpopular in the Kine Society."

 (Intimate): "She is deathly afraid of cows, but don't let the cows find out … they thrive on fear."

 (Dark): "When she meditates, her power animal is a horse … the highest form of Kine blasphemy."

Interestingly, Zen Mu's gender and character model is male, but all 3 of Zen's secrets uses she/her pronouns. Small fun fact - Personal Kine robe for the player: It looks like we would have received our own kine robe at one point, probably after passing inspection, according to the item list file (item 72). Now, we can just go to a wardrobe and buy a robe ourselves.

Extra fun fact that I randomly like to talk about on my twitch streams, but I don't remember if I've said it over here? These two award winning cows were actually given names by the devs in the Kine Dairy level spawning file. Bessie and Gertie! <3
