- Synopsis -

Upon the recommendation of their dear friend Toad, Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool decide to take up a vacation to the Kingdom of Sarasaland.

In the midst of exploring their luxurious Villa, The group make a surprising encounter with ruler of the land, The Daisy Princess. The Princess offers to show the group around her kingdom, who she holds great pride in.

All seems well, until an Alien commander from outer space decides to invade the land. He intends to take over Sarasaland and make it his home, and make The Daisy Princess his Queen.

The group becomes set on saving Sarasaland and protecting the Princess. However, The Alien announces their fate in a duel of Wild, High-Speed Race Car driving.

Will the Group be able to shift their minds into gear? Or would they swerve out of control?

I DARE all Bowuigi artists, fanfic writers, and shippers in general to make works of the original super show or 1993 movie. You guys have always used the games or the 2023 movie as a base for your works, but WHAT ABOUT THESE?! WHY NOT USE ONE OF THESE TWO AS A BASIS? Waaaaaaaaaaaaay in the past, there used to be a Blockbuster Video next to my grocery store. And the rentals I gravitated to all the time were the Super Mario Bros Super Show, Donkey Kong Country the series, and Sonic SAT AM VHS tapes 📼. (Child me was very confused on why these shows were so different from the games I played) Now I don't remember exactly what SMBSS episodes were on those tapes, but it was either the Camelot episode or the 'Mama Luigi' ep (probably the former). Anyways, while I don't remember too much, I thought it was fun and I liked their outfits in the show a lot.

There’s a bunch of marketing leaks going around for the Mario movie ahead of the new trailer tomorrow and they’re going full Brooklyn Backstory, Pauline is confirmed, and they’re actually leaning on the Super Show theme.

Apparently, according to The Super Mario Bros Super Show, Luigi's dogsona is a mini goldendoodle.

The live-action segments of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show start with a zoom in onto the Mario Bros. Plumbing building, shown as being close to the Brooklyn Bridge. However, the painting that is being zoomed in on was never seen in full during the original airing of the show.

The only full view of the painting, as shown in the above image, appears in the German version of the "Home Radio" live action segment, which for an unknown reason lacks the zoom effect.

I always forget how little there is of Mario in terms of animated media. I just wish Nintendo would make more of that. I mean of course there is gonna be a sequel to the movie but why not more?

But whats your guy's favorite animated version of him? Super Show 1989 Luigi had his special moments and memes while The Mission To Rescue Princess Peach 1986 Luigi is the most obscure yet most entertaining imo. Sadly, 2023 movie Luigi doesn't bring much to the table. But I did love all the scenes we got from him and hopefully the sequel can give us more.

Been doing some screenshot sketches of Mario and Luigi from the movie and some of the old cartoons in my sketchbook and ended up cleaning this one up in my drawing app.

This scene was from the Super Mario Bros: Super Show, the episode where Mario hits his head and wind up with amnesia. They're in the jungle and, of course, Luigi freaked himself out thinking about all the potential lurking dangers.

Even though it was a pretty short bit, I still thought it was adorable. Especially when you pause the scene just at the right frame, you'll see Mario smiling back at his lil bro in reassurance and amusement. So, how could I resist?
