And what will happen to the baby if the purchasing parents are caught and arrested for human trafficking?
Michael Cook April 25, 2024
A British charity working with victims of modern slavery has reported that it had received three reports of “forced surrogacy” for the first time.
Unseen said that calls to its anti-slavery hotline in 2023 had reached a record high – 11,700 contacts. . The number of potential victims in the care sector had risen by nearly one-third.
Unseen has defined “forced surrogacy” as forcing or coercing a woman into carrying a pregnancy for another individual.
“Criminals are finding new and shockingly ruthless ways to exploit victims,” said the Anti-Slavery Commissioner, Eleanor Lyons. “Alarmingly, for the first time we have seen cases of forced surrogacy being reported.”
No details were released, for fear of identifying trafficking victims.
In 2023 Unseen noted three emerging kinds of modern slavery – surrogacy, organ harvesting, and scamming. Although the numbers were small, they were described as “worrying”. Most slavery involves labour, sexual, or criminal exploitation.

In the wake of Shane Dawson becoming a father via surrogacy, I have been seeing a lot of discussions about surrogacy. One of the most popular criticisms of anti-surrogacy I see is "Well, there is no screening process for normal impregnation too"
Yes, it is unfortunate that irresponsible men and women can make a baby together, it doesn't negate the fact surrogacy is harmful especially when potential parents aren't screened. You guys are basically saying since fertile irresponsible and possibly degenerate people can make babies naturally we might as well allow infertile irresponsible and possibly degenerate people have children via surrogacy. Basically "Well, the water is already polluted so let us not make any effort to stop further pollution".
This is when you know you are in too deep in online discourse and this is just a debate to you because you guys aren't even considering the well-being of the children. It is about winning the debate for you all at this point but let us not forget actual humans are being created and handed off to potentially dangerous people.
And for those who are going to turn this into a homophobia thing, Identity does not equal morality. I do not do identity Politics when it comes to morality but I especially do not do identity Politics when it comes to safeguarding children (you know, the most vulnerable group of humans).
Banning surrogacy is not going to end child abuse but it sure as hell will reduce the number of children that become legal property of unworthy people and that is a win for humankind.
I thought all sane adults realised there is no thanos snap to solving world problems but rather small drops of change which eventually create an ocean.
In the meantime, you could mitigate and even eliminate child abuse by suggesting a viable method to prevent unworthy people from becoming parents via natural impregnation.

Surrogacy has been used as a means of acquiring a child for the sole purpose of sexual abuse.
A gay couple adopted a child by paying $8000 to a surrogate. The abuse began shortly after the child's birth and over the course of six years the couple travelled the world and offered the child up for sex with at least 8 men. This sexual abuse was recorded and the footage was uploaded to the Boy Lovers Network (pedophile syndicate). When the police began investigating the abuse, the couple claimed they were being targeted because they are homosexual.

I made a comment saying "Congratulations on your purchase!" on a post about Paris Hiltons new surrogacy baby
And BOYYY are the "Be kind!" women out in FORCE today
You know what is "kind"? Not purchasing a baby. Not forcing a woman to carry a child because you don't want to.
Having a baby is not a *right*. There are many options available to those who want to parent and can't/won't give birth - options that aren't trafficking in human children.

Another country where 43.5% of the population lives in poverty is becoming popular with surrogacy agencies
"International Appeal: Understanding Why Families Globally Choose Surrogacy in Mexico
The international appeal of surrogacy in Mexico is rooted in several key factors. First, Mexico’s robust healthcare system, renowned for its high-quality medical services, has made it a primary choice for surrogacy.
Second, the country’s inclusive culture and open acceptance of diverse families provide a welcoming environment for all prospective parents. Lastly, the competitive costs of surrogacy services in Mexico have made it an attractive option for many families worldwide.
Mexico’s legislation around surrogacy is another significant factor contributing to its international appeal. Although certain states have more specific regulations, the country as a whole provides a legal framework that facilitates the surrogacy process. This provides reassurance to prospective parents, making Mexico a safe and viable choice for surrogacy.
The international appeal of surrogacy in Mexico also extends to the country’s geographical location. For North American and European families, Mexico’s proximity offers easy travel for appointments, legal proceedings, and the eventual birth of their child. This geographical convenience coupled with the country’s advanced healthcare infrastructure makes Mexico a prime destination for surrogacy."
Wow that sounds awesome for families experiencing Infertility. I wonder if there be other reasons couples are looking to Mexico?
"t was not all good news. The agency also reported that extreme poverty — defined as people who do not have enough income even to buy enough food — edged up from 7% of the population in 2018 to 7.1% in 2022. Because of the increase in overall population, that meant that extreme poverty cases rose from 8.7 million people in 2018 to 9.1 million in 2022."

hello miss, why are you against surrogacy? :)
Feel free to send people to this post whenever they ask the same question. ☺️✌🏻
• Surrogacy is a form of sexual slavery, human trafficking, and creates a baby with the full knowledge that the baby will suffer the deep trauma of being separated from its mother. Surrogacy is purposeful creation of traumatised children. Dog moms are allowed to be with their pups for at least 8 weeks, but human babies are separated immediately.
• Most women who do surrogacy are poor and doing it out of financial desperation. It often has terrible implications for their families too.
• Surrogacy pregnancies are high risk because of the extreme amount of medication that need to be taken so that the mom’s body doesn’t reject the fetus who doesn’t have her own DNA. There have even been cases of women becoming infertile after surrogacy.
• It reduces a woman to the state of a brood mare, even the word surrogate is used to eliminate the reminder that this is a woman, a human, not an incubator. Women who do this are often kept under tight control, and the baby buyers are often very demanding of complete control over her body. When Ukraine was invaded, the women were forced to do what their buyers wanted, either be evacuated or remain in one location, separated from family.
The moment they gave birth and were in the buyer’s country, they were sent right back to Ukraine after.
• There's also the fact that pregnancy carries very high risks including death, especially true in poorer countries where this is more likely to be common. Sometimes the baby is born the 'wrong' sex or with a medical condition and then the buyers rejects it. It's important to know that women make babies using their own flesh, blood and bones, not just a bit of DNA. Every pregnancy can be deadly. Only women who want a child and love them should get pregnant because of it, never because they want/need money.
• The bond the mother and child will have will be no different to that of her own related child. It will be extremely traumatizing to see her own child go, even worse when in the contract it’s stated the mom gets to keep having contact with the child but the buyers don’t keep their part of the deal.
• When one woman is for sale, men believe we are all potentially for sale.
Thanks for your question!

A few days ago, the Greek police dismantled a human trafficking network that was exploiting women, calling it "altruistic surrogacy." The victims were mainly Romani women from Bulgaria and Romania (source).

Gay men who have children via surrogacy, a.k.a. by exploiting a woman‘s reproductive capabilities and trafficking a baby, don’t deserve to be part of any community.
Of course, the same goes for straight couples who do that, but apparently when gay men do it more people feel "sympathy" …
Women are not incubators, and people aren’t products.
OPT FOR ADOPTION OR DON‘T HAVE A CHILD AT ALL.

"Adoptees are dying by the day because their pain is too great to carry—abandonment, rejection, grief, loss, complex PTSD, and substance use disorder all plague adoptees. As a result, prisons, jails, mental health, and treatment facilities are over-populated with adoptees, who are 4x more likely to die by suicide than non-adopted people.
...
Even in abusive and horrifying situations when separation is necessary, we still lose our biological mothers, fathers, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, ethnicity, medical history, culture, ancestral heirlooms, memories, the right to grieve, and the comfort of knowing our truth because we fight every step of the way trying to find out who we are and where we come from."
Adoptees are Dying, but Adoption Agencies Continue to Neglect Our Cries

If you’re paying a woman to give you a child in exchange for money, some might call this slavery or human trafficking.
Slap the label “surrogacy” on it, though, and suddenly everyone turns a blind eye.
