Just because I know that you love the Beifong as much as I do, do you realize that Lin was the best game and that probably everyone wanted/loved her? Strictly speaking politically *because we all know the other benefits of having Lin as a couple lmao* She is THE heiress of the noble family richest and with good influence of the last centuries fr and does not have the "tie of the crown" like:
Poppy: proposals have just arrived from the water tribe of the north so that our beloved granddaughter is their Chief.
Lao: put it together with that of the Fire Nation to be Fire Lady.
Poppy: Kuei continues to insist that she be a queen consort of her daughter.
Lao: Also the avatar, says that he has a son leader of the Air Nation and the other son Chief of the Water Tribe of south
You can bet Lin was the most in-demand bachelorette in the Kingdom after Toph, only that trying to ask for Toph's hand was a waste of time from the start (Lao and Poppy made quite a collection of origami figures out of the marriage proposals, pretending they didn't even want to marry her off anyway to protect their peace of mind and ears) (Toph would have yelled a lot) (Poppy made a magnificent little origami zoo, Lao only knows how to make flying boars).
Because Lin always said out loud that she wanted to follow in her mother's footsteps, Poppy and Lao never bothered to respond to Lin's marriage proposals. Sometimes they would show them to Lin, who would shrug and ask if there wasn't some way to recycle the paper because she hated wasting resources.
Suyin never received a single marriage proposal and that made her very sad. Poppy used to write her fake marriage proposals so she wouldn't feel so bad. Suyin never bothered to check if the 'Prince of the Flower Country' really existed, though.

do you think this guy:
https://avatar . fandom.com/wiki/Sun
is suyins father
No, I don't.
With the caveat that of course anyone can write what they want in their own fiction, I don't think we have met Lin or Suyin's fathers, and I suspect we never will. And truthfully I like it that way. I feel like it adds a depth to Toph's character and the world that we wouldn't ordinarily get, a sense that her life continues on whether or not we get a peek into it.
Also, contrary to what YA literature likes to show, most people don't meet the people that they date in their 30s and 40s, back when they were teenagers. Toph had her two children decades after the show ended, with a decent gap between the two of them, with two different men, neither of which we will probably ever meet, and both of whom she probably met not all that long before she had a child with them. A year or two rather than twenty or thirty years.
And like, we have no evidence that Toph actually had a particularly meaningful relationship with either of the fathers of her children. Or even that Toph ever had a long-term relationship. I think that's a daring and cool characterization choice for her. And this is part of why I find speculating about the fathers of Toph's children, especially in the form of shipping and shipping related stuff, to be absolutely uninteresting.
I'm sorry, I'm aware this is probably not the answer that you were looking for. These are just my particular thoughts.

We still doing crack ships? How about Bo/Lin Bei Fong? I don't know if there's an official name for it or the proper portmanteau.
okay well im gonna meet this ship where it’s at and say. first of all, pairing bolin with a milf is a very dangerous game. i don’t think he could handle that (although im sure he thinks he could). also, bolin is pretty clearly into brown girls, so i’d sooner pair him with suyin (a classic stacy’s opal’s mom situation). but yeah. besides some freaks (non-judgmental) who would produce great mommy domme content with these two (and by great i only mean if that’s what you’re into) i really don’t get this one at all.

To quote yourself, since I know you love the Bei Fongs as much as I do, do you realize that poor Baatar had to ask Lao and Poppy for their 'permission' to marry Suyin??? (we know it wasn't necessary but, alas, I bet Baatar didn't)
Just trying to picturing Old And Tired!Loppy being like 'omg someone in this family will ACTUALLY marry' with poor nervous Baatar in the background. Baatar being sure they'll reject him. *Cut to Poppy yelling at Suyin to she better marry ASAP before Baatar changes his mind*
So imagine that they have no idea why the architect that their granddaughter hired (with their money obviously) requested a meeting but they still receive him in the hall even though they can barely climb due to age but they would never admit that and Baatar never felt so much like a small boy before them (smaller than Toph here) but he still asks for Suyin's hand hoping that his guards will not kill him.
Tumblr media
Lao's order to his guards is to bring drinks to celebrate, Suyin laughs because she had no idea why he wanted to talk to her grandparents until she heard it and mocks how unnecessary it was while Poppy scolds her and almost orders to bring a judge right then while Baatar looks at his new family in disbelief.
Lao: well at least we no longer have to pay him for his services in the new city Poppy: no but now we have to pay him for keeping Suyin

Some ideas for projects that Avatar Studios can do to expand the Avatar universe:
1) Earth Avatar series that’s 1980s/1990s-themed (Aang’s world was early Industrial Revolution, Korra was the 1920s).
2) Fire Avatar series that’s cyberpunk/futuristic-themed (if the previous series was set in the 1980s/1990s, the next Avatar would be in the future).
3) Zaheer, R-rated spinoff series. Something along the lines of Netflix’s “The Punisher”.
4) Sokka and Suki spin-off series, but set when they’re in their 40s (so about two decades after the main series ended). For their show, I was thinking a spy/political thriller in which they’re trying to stop a conspiracy to destroy the Southern Water Tribe. Something like “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” or “The Bourne Identity”.
5) The Forgotten Avatar/The Avatar Who Must Not Be Named. Set long before Avatar Yangchen’s time, the series follows an Avatar who abused their powers to the point that they’ve been erased from the history books.
6) The Dark Avatar. Taking place simultaneously as the Earth Avatar series, this series focuses on Vaatu’s return and the start of the Dark Avatar lineage.
7) Series about an Earth Kingdom spy sent to infiltrate the Fire Nation royal court in order to assassinate the Fire Lord. This show is set during the middle of the Hundred Year War (literally, 50 years after it started).
8) The First Avatar. An expansion on Avatar Wan’s life, going beyond what we saw in Korra. Something like how the “Andor” show expanded on “Rogue One”.
9) Series centered around a Fire Nation unit during the Hundred Year War. The point of the show isn’t to justify the Fire Nation’s side, but to humanize the soldiers.
10) June the Bounty Hunter movie in which she accepts a job to capture a high-profile Fire Nation general for the Earth Kingdom. For the feel of the movie, think “Atomic Blonde” or “John Wick”.
11) Young Iroh series that features Lu Ten as the deuteragonist.
12) Toph Bei Fong series about her founding the Metalbending Police Force, as well as how she met Lin and Suyin’s fathers.
13) General Iroh II spin-off series.
14) Agents of Republic City series. Centered on a group of agents trying to prevent the four nations from going to war with each other. Think of this show as the Avatar version of “24” or “Homeland”.
15) Young Gran Gran series, showing her life in the Northern Water Tribe and how she fled to the South. Also features young Master Pakku.

So how many grandkids does Suyin actually have? Also does any of the Bei Fongs still have big political influence, either in Zaofu or in the EF in general?
She has 8 grandkids! No great-grandkids yet
So fun fact! A few years before Korra's death, Zaofu broke away and became it's own independent city state, similar to Hong Kong and mainland China. It was seen as a big embarrassment to the Earth Federation nobility and leaders

Opal Beifong x Reader HC’s
light-miracles said:Hullo! Headcanon with Opal Bei Fong, if you want
Tumblr media
- Your parents moved to Zaofu when you were a little child, to learn metal bending.
- While your parents unpacked the boxes with your things, you decided to explore the city. Soon after you found yourself lost through endless streets.
- You were crying, when a girl a little bit older than you approached. It was Opal, she asked what's wrong and offer to go back to her home, where her parents will try to find your family.
- That was a start to a long friendship.
- You bond through the fact that you are both non-benders in an earth bender family.
- But turns out that you actually could bend, you're just a late bloom. It happened in one of the afternoons that you spend at Beifong's household. One of the kids that you were playing with started to be mean to you, in an angry state you moved the earth knocking them down.
- Since you were Opal's friend, Suyin became your earth bender master, teaching you everything that she knows. That made you spend even more time with Opal and her family.
- One time you even met Toph Beifong herself, who showed you some new moves and makes you blush when she commented teasingly about how unusually close are you and Opal.
- You were by her side when Opal discovered after Harmonic Convergence that she gained air bending powers. You were very happy for her, but that joyful situation turned into a sad one when Opal had to leave to train, but you promised to write letters to each other.
- The distance between you and Opal made you realize that you like her more than a friend. You finally understood about how much you love Opal when Red Lotus kidnaps her and other air benders.
- When you reunited, you couldn't help but confessed your feeling, ready to face rejection. But to your surprise, she simply answers that she feels the same, promising to talk about it after you'll defeat Zaheer.
- After the battle was over, and the Red Lotus was defeated, you suddenly felt shy for your outburst of feelings. You were timid to talk about it with her, surely Opal is a sweet and nice, but also she's a Beifong, and they always go to the end.
- You had a deep conversation where you discussed about your feelings and your future. After you have shared your affection for one another, you start a long and a beautiful relationship.

Loppy babysitting newborn lin and suyin after their births bc i have loppy and momma!toph brainrot
!!!! The brainrot is real!!!
When Lin was born, Toph was totally prepared for the fact that she'd have to hire a babysitter to take care of her when she was at work. And it wasn't a big deal, Katara had even recommended a couple of nannies.
Four days later her father is on her doorstep (how the hell did he get here so fast Gaoling is on the other side of the continent) saying things like 'Oh Earthen Fire needed me here I guess I'll have to spend more time in Republic City' or something like that. He's talking very fast and Toph isn't very good at paying attention to him (old habits die hard) but then her dad says something like 'If you have to go to work, don't worry, I will take care of my granddaughter' 'Actually I was going to hire a babysitter' and Toph can swear she heard the moment her father *went pale*. After fifteen long minutes listening to a thesis about the downsides of babysitters, which included arguments like 'You can't trust babysitters because they're basically strangers', 'Would you trust a complete stranger with all your savings? Then why would you trust them with your baby?' 'You didn't have babysitters and turned out pretty well', 'Spies from Ba Sing Se', 'Inflation on the rise', Toph is ready to give up and let her father take care of Lin for a few hours. Anything to shut him up.
But oh boy Toph didn't expect him to be the perfect babysitter. Lao laid his eyes on baby Lin once and *fell in love*. He has what Katara calls *baby fever*. To Lao, Lin looks like if someone had shrunk Poppy and he can't help but adore this tiny human who has Poppy's beauty and his last name. He hasn't felt like this since Toph was a baby, but this time there's no war out there and he's older and wiser. He's not afraid and he can enjoy the wonder and the warmth of having a baby in his arms.
Toph thinks he's senile, but Poppy tells her that he's just Like That™ with babies. He has always liked children much more than adults.
So Lin's birth marks a new beginning for the family, the happiest they will ever be. Lin is loved by everyone, and having the help and support of her parents and her friends makes being a single mother not as difficult as Toph first feared. Lin is a happy baby and then she becomes a happy child. She likes to play with Tenzin, study with her grandfather, practice Earthbending with her mommy and have them tell her stories or sing to her at night.
When Suyin is born, the family has to make a little adjustment and organize better, because since the city is growing, and that means that both the police and Earthen Fire have more to do, Toph and Lao have less free time. But since some of them are still strongly nannyphobic (*Lao*) then Poppy is the one who helps Toph take care of Suyin when she has to go out to chase down dangerous criminals.
Unlike Lin, Suyin is a difficult baby, who cries a lot and doesn't eat things she doesn't like. She doesn't sleep easily either, and many times Poppy has to rock her for hours before she falls asleep. Yet she loves every second of it. Nobody ever talks about it, but before Toph was born she suffered some miscarriages, and her trauma over it affected her relationship with Toph for most of her childhood. Somehow, holding Suyin in her arms had finally healed that wound that she had insistently ignored for nearly forty years. And when Suyin smiles *that* way for the first time (Toph's smile, Lao's smile), Poppy realizes that her granddaughter has probably become her favorite person. That Suyin later turns into such a fun and charming girl is a direct result of imitating her grandmother's negotiating skills. Suyin loves Grandma Poppy and Grandma Poppy loves Suyin.
Bonus: Toph is also spoiled more often, despite being almost forty years old. Her father invites her to lunch on Mondays because their schedules coincide (and if he always buys her favorite desserts, Toph doesn't complain). Poppy likes fashion and is always buying her new clothes. Toph doesn't complain either.

THe only cest I can think of involving the Bei Fongs is Lin and Suyin being Sokka's kids so when Lin and Tenzin Bang and get a kid, Azula would be giving them a thumbs up.
Oh, that'd be nice. And I love Azula supporting all the incest, bonus points if she's doing it while sitting in Zuko's lap XD

Could I ask for another part to the Lin adopts Mako and Bolin AU? I really enjoyed reading what you had.
Continued from: [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], [Link], and [Link].
1. Katara gives Korra two weeks worth of homework (mostly on deep breathing and meditation, which she needs to be doing more of anyway) and turns her over to a Southern Water Tribe traditional dance teacher, who is overjoyed to have the young Avatar participating in this year's first sunset festival dance with the other children. Korra is skeptical, but Katara wants her doing something movement related while she's gone, or she will be bouncing off walls by the time Katara gets back. Besides, Korra is isolated from her people and kids her own age too much. But anyway, with her student seen to, Katara makes a trip to visit Suyin and her family.
2. Suyin is no fool. She knows Katara showing up so soon after Zuko expressed his concerns probably has something to do with those concerns. From her point of view, Katara shows up like, "I'm here to-" (whips out a pair of sunglasses) "◇~☆Question your parenting!☆~◇" And to be fair, Katara is absolutely there to question Suyin's parenting, but she's trying to do it in a loving nonconfrontational way, in which she offers Suyin support if she needs it. But Suyin has a lot of ego wrapped up in having saved Kuvira and set her on the right track. But at least the fact that she thinks everything is fine, means she's all too eager to show everything off to Katara. And as long as Katara keeps making appreciative noises and complementing Suyin, Suyin feels like Katara isn't a threat.
3. When the tour is all over, Katara asks to speak to Kuvira for a little bit alone. Oh, don't worry, Suyin dear, I just know Zuko would feel a lot better of I do. I want to put my old friend's mind at rest, that's all. So Suyin leaves them to it, and Katara immediately sits Kuvira down and tells her that Zuko sent her because he saw things he thought were wrong with things here, and Katara agrees, and she knows Kuvira doesn't have anybody to talk to who won't tell Suyin and Bataar, so here's her phone number and her address, and here's how to contact Zuko. It's a little harder, because he's always traveling, but she knows he would love to hear from her, and neither of them will tell Suyin or Bataar anything she tells them. Then she puts her finger to her lips and says goodbye. She smiles at Suyin, and tells her she feels much better about things now, and heads off. That of course is a blatant lie, and Katara feels helpless to fix anything, so she resolves to go track down Toph and yell at her. This might not actually be Toph's fault, but it will make Katara feel better.
4. Now that two old friends of their mother have turned up trying to find things wrong with how Suyin raises her children, Suyin knows there must be a reason, someone whispering nasty things in their ears, and she has one suspect. So she calls up her sister to yell accusations at her. And that's how Lin learns Zuko and Katara don't necessarily think everything is fine and grand with Suyin's family. She has no idea what to do with this information, but it's nice to have. She hangs up on her sister without comment. The tragedy, not that either Lin or Suyin can face this, is that Suyin isn't trying to be a bad parent. She's trying to give her children what she and her sister needed and didn't get. And Toph was trying to give her children the freedom she didn't get, and everybody keeps making new mistakes, trying to avoid the old ones.
5. It's a terrible irony that just as Suyin's own attempts at parenting are unravelling because she can't admit she's wrong, Lin's adventures in parenting are forcing her to admit she might have been wrong about everything, about her job, about how people work, about her city. And that how things go, with Lin learning to reevaluate the world at every step, while Mako and Bolin learn to do the same. And then, several months down the road comes that bane of every parent of a "problem child's" life, parent-teacher conferences.

for the kids thing: taang!
oooh hahahahaa!!!
ok so first born is Kuzon (First of all the gaang kids in this au actually... no one really gave toph or aang an in-depth sex talk since they lost their parental figures at 12 and its not like toph would listen to her parents if they tried that with her... and the gaang didnt talk to her about it until she was complaining about this ‘flu’ she had for a while... (they’re like 19/20 though, not like 14) anyway lmao)
ok anyway, Kuzon is first born. Aang talked about him so much in the series I couldn’t imagine him NOT naming his kid after one of his best pals in the fire nation. Aang and Toph also have a friendly competition on whether the kids will be earthbenders or airbenders and whichever one it is, they get to name it that. SO, Kuzon turned out to be an Airbender and Aang got to name him. Toph’s name for him (which is her own name) becomes his middle name. Kuzon Toph Bei Fong- first airbender born since the genocide (well, first-known to be born, i also headcanon that some survived in the earth kingdom)
He’s super fun and goofy; he has a hard time taking things seriously and it’s definitely a coping mechanism for all the pressure he feels as the first airbender of the next generation. Most of the time he doesn’t known when to stop goofing and it gets him into trouble a lot. He gets along well with the Sukka twins if you read that post. He’s also gay and that comes with a LOT more guilt on his shoulders because he feels like he’s supposed to continue the airbender lineage. Of course, Aang and Toph wholeheartedly accept him when that day comes to tell them (before, only his sister and his best friend, Zutara’s son, knows). While he’s happy about that, that guilt isn’t really lifted entirely until airbenders are discovered in the earth kingdom. Later in his life, Kuzon takens on a similar role to Tenzin in the Korra series (though i haven’t actually watched the series through, just read about it and watched some clips) but I imagine that includes helping to preserve airbender culture and act as a representative for it. He’s pretty passionate about peace-keeping once he matures enough to handle that sort of job and, even though he’s not the avatar, tries to travel around the world to help with diplomatic issues.
Second born is Lin Yangchen Bei Fong, only a year or so apart from Kuzon. (also, i didn’t mention this before but since aang doesn’t have a last name, they use Bei Fong on any official documents). She’s an earthbender. Fun fact: To learn seismic sense as a kid, she couldn’t really get it unless she closed her eyes and as a result, can’t really earthbend well at all without closing her eyes as she grows older. She’s very hotheaded and strong-willed. She often feels like she has to prove herself since she feels like she lives in such a male-dominated world. Not gonna lie, Toph kind of pressured her to be very self-reliant from her own trauma of her parents making her feel useless; she did the exact opposite and forced Lin to learn to be completely independent and now she kind of has a hard time trusting people. Later in life, I imagine they both have a good talk where Toph actually apologizes for not being kinder to her (THAT BEING SAID; she’s not a completely withdrawn mother- they had lots of good moments as she grew up, but you can’t pretend Toph wouldn’t fuck up in some way from her own background and Aang tried really hard balancing it out that it’s not as extreme as Lin in the Korra series). Anyway, Lin’s best friend is her brother, Kuzon, though they also fight a lot as siblings do. In my notes, I wrote “she has a light humor, not one you will often see though.” I love her dearly.
Third born is Tenzin Shi Bei Fong. This time, there’s a good six years before they have another kid. (So they just battled two toddlers while peace-keeping the world at age 20... honestly, it sounds just like them lmfao. Aunt Katara and Uncle Sokka were always happy to babysit when needed, but they tried their best to not just yeet the kids away unless they absolutely had to). Tenzin is an airbender and he’s actually very similar to Tenzin from the Korra series. I have notes that he was a “cute little boy who is an adorable muffin. Very happy and playful.” His middle name, Shi, means Stone... I think Toph would feel rather uncreative after two kids, plus she says she can actually always tell what they’re gonna be based off whether they have dancing feet or not to which both Tenzin and Kuzon did. I don’t have a lot on him, because he’s, you know, the original Tenzin... except he doesn’t date Lin because they’re siblings now (also... my Lin is not the same one from the series).
The final baby is born seven years after Tenzin (an accident, though not the last accident of the gaang... that’s actually Sokka and Suki with Senna). It’s a girl and I haven’t quite decided whether she’s a an airbender or an earthbender because in my AU she’s just a baby, but I’m leaning heavily towards an airbender. Aang’s name for her is Buma and Toph’s is Suyin. Everyone hates Aang’s name for her and begs her not to name her Buma but even though it takes two years before Buma shows signs of any bending (to which, Katara asked them, “what will you name her if she’s a nonbender” and Toph says “we’ll deal with it when we get there”). Eventually, when she starts airbending, the family calls her Buyin as a combination of the two names so they don’t have to call her Buma. Aang eventually starts calling her Buyin too since everyone else is, but treasures the name Buma since it’s after a dear friend of his. She’s very adventurous and as the youngest, she had a lot more freedom than her siblings (though, really, Aang and Toph gave their kids a lot of freedom to begin with). Buyin’s really close to her parents as she grows up since her siblings stop traveling with them before she’s even close having the option to. Her parents are really her best friends and she visits the most following her actually growing up and moving away to do her own thing. I think Buyin’s that sweet person that everyone kind of loves, taking after Aang a lot in her excitement to make friends.
And those are the Taang kids!! I have a lot of headcanons and I’m sorry it’s such a long post. Thank you for the ask and if anyone else wants, feel free to send any atla ship and I’ll give you my kids headcanons!!

Remember when we were all mad at Toph for seemingly going back on what she stood for as chief of police and covering up suyin's involvement in the crime in question?
Well, I fully get why she did it now. Can you imagine the headlines? "Daughter of Toph Bei Fong, creator of metal bending, hero of the 100 year War, and founder of Republic City Police Force, arrested for robbery with the Triple Terror Triad"
It's a perfect example of someone being put on a holy pedestal and then just one thing going wrong can make it crumble. The paparazzi would've swarmed like wasps and ruined and humiliated not just her, but Lin as well, as she became a well respected cop. Toph wanted to stop that from happening so she, Suyin, and Lin, could go about their lives and have a future. And as far as Suyin goes, she did. She was able to grow up, become mature, make up with Toph, create the city of Zaofu, and start a family.
Lin on the other hand, yes, she was doing her job and it wasn't fair that Suyin was "yet again" getting away with shit with no consequences. But she had a choice to forgive her and accept that she had changed and answered her and Toph's call to meet again, but for 30 years, she refused, which attributed to her failed relationship with Tenzin, who wanted to move on and be free from the chains of resentment.

Lin's Dad
So I've gotten back into the fandom of Avatar the last air-bender and legend of Korra again. And I see the speculation about Lin and Suyin's father. Sokka is a popular opinion but at least for Lin I don't think so. It's canon that Lin and Tenzin dated. Fun/gross thing is that if Sokka is Lin's biological dad that makes Tenzin her cousin. So at the very least Sokka is not Lin Bei Fong's biological father. Maybe Suyin's, but he is not Lin's biological father.
