Aren’t Night Swan’s eyes naturally green (at least in the old art)

Well since I got the opportunity to talk about it, let's open this can of worms.

In which you can very clearly see her having green eyes. So it's not just old art! Although it's from Sweet Dreams Leak, so yea, not exactly canon. But it almost got into the game if it wasn't for the licencing issues, most likely.

Tbh I never really understood that decision since literally seconds earlier, you have a close-up on her pink/purple eye.

(Also in Darkest hour, the eye turns yellow before zooming out)

Sure, you could argue that maybe her eyes were green before becoming NS, but then, both Murder on the dancefloor and Darkest hour emotes have the same pink/purple eyes.

It may not exactly be our most believable proof, considering all that green eyes mess begun with NS emote and avatar, but I think those were added after the update?? So ig we can hope they were at least a bit more considering this time.

Cause looking at the maps won't really give you anything. They usually don't care about eye colors that much, so Leda's eyes are, I believe, brown there.

Which might answer the "but what if her eyes were green when she was on earth??" question. Maybe, you can have that as your headcanon. Her eyes are naturally green, then after coming into the game, they became pink/purple, and after completely turning into NS, they're now yellow. Seems the most logical.

It also makes sense that Jack Rose, her son (allegedly), has green eyes after her. And this is the eye colour that there's no confusion about at all, right?

mercy gets defensive anytime anyone tries to accuse her of being scared. she's quick to a fight because she constantly thinks she has to prove that she's tough and not afraid of anything.

like all the warriors, i think mercy is consumed by guilt after That Night. it's when she thinks of fox jumping back to the platform. when swan gets too quiet or wakes up trembling from a nightmare and mercy doesn't know how to help. when some of the other warriors flinch whenever she talks. when she catches the haunted way they stare at her whenever they think she's not looking. sometimes mercy feels like she's drowning, suffocating in guilt because she thinks that the other warriors would trade her life for fox's in a heartbeat, and sometimes mercy wishes that it had been fox who made it home instead of her.

is there anyone who can hold a grudge like ajax. i think some of the guys cowgirl dates who turn out to be assholes live in constant fear of ajax finding them. ajax wasn't even there and the bizzies are forever on her shitlist. ajax does not forget anyone who's ever hurt another warrior.

lowkey i also think ajax never quite forgives masai for how he hurt cleon, even if cleon herself was able to move on for the sake of the alliance. anytime masai is around and is standing too close to cleon, ajax is hovering like a guard dog.

What’s a pairing or fandom you’ve always wanted to write for but haven’t yet?

Captain Wentworth and Anne Elliot! I finally started a one-shot with them, but don't have much done yet.

Another pairing I've never written a single word for is Captain Swan aka Killian and Emma from Once Upon a Time. I think they'd be a lot of fun to write, and I even have an idea, but I've yet to start anything.

...And I just realized both ships have a naval captain in them 😂

hehehe soo this is something from a halloween bingo a couple years ago, but the prompt has long escaped me.

bucky's a loner with a vague crush on sam, who is always taking random guys to his room (across the hall from bucky naturally), never to be seen or heard from again. after hearing more concerning noises than ususal one night (Halloween??) bucky finds blood and broken glass all over sam's dorm room and follows him up to some fucking castle where sam's family is having some kinda goddam coven meeting .. here's a snippet!

“You didn’t know where I was? You came looking for me?” Sam asks in a rush, impatient, but something else too. “You were worried, that’s it?” “I guess,” Bucky shakes his head. “Yeah, I mean – yeah. I thought you might be hurt. There’s blood –” “Put the ring on,” Sam says, reaching up to turn the light out again. “Make it fit.” Bucky slides over his thumb, and Sam helps him into the robe. “Where are we, actually?” “Stay behind me and don’t say anything. No matter what, okay?” Bucky laughs. “What kind of fucked up costume party –?” He tries to step out of the closet and back into the drafty hallway, but Sam presses in close, shuts the door again. “Bucky,” Sam says, pleading. A few hours ago, Bucky didn’t think Sam even knew his name, and now he’s saying it like that, burning him up from the inside. They’ve barely been within six feet of each other in the last few months, and now their mouths are inches away. Obviously Bucky’s going to do whatever he asks.

But I have to say that I didn't watch season 7 and though I have a general idea what happens in it, I could not possibly be more confused about its timeline so... let's just say „I've elected to ignore it".

For their honeymoon, Emma and Killian go on a long cruise along the East Coast (there are many advantages to marrying the real Captain Hook), maybe to Florida and back and they make several stops along the way in different places. Killian explores more of the strange land without magic (and with way too much technology) with Emma as his guide and it’s very fun and wholesome

Of course, they inevitably interact with regular people and there is so much comedic potential in that. Obviously because Killian is 200-year-old pirate from another realm but it's time for Emma to realize that she's not the normal person constantly bewildered by the existence of fairytale characters anymore... she's one of the magic freaks now, she has to stop herself midsentence before she accidentally says something that would sound insane

Just imagine Emma and Killian finding themselves at a bar, getting to know some friendly strangers and they start playing Never have I ever... infinite possibilities how that could get increasingly weird

They have an adventure in the Bermuda triangle too, because nothing can be normal for Storybrooke's heroes

Hope Swan Jones is born 2 years after the end of season 6 and she adores her big brother Henry, even though their dynamic is still more like young uncle/niece because of the big age gap but they get full sibling energy when it comes to an argument

Swan is her middle name just to confuse everyone

I've always imagined Hope with dark hair and green eyes even though blond Hope seems to be much more popular. Now I'm contemplating the possibility of dirty blond

The jury is still out on whether or not they would have more than one kid but I suck at coming up with names so🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Emma continues to be Storybrooke's sheriff which at this point just means being the Savior. Let's be real Storybrooke hasn't enforced a single law since the first curse was broken and it’s not like deputy Captain Hook has ever had a lot of regard for law, but... They try to maintain order more or less. Things do get more peaceful, but it's still Storybrooke so of course stuff happens from time to time but nothing traumatizing or apocalyptic. Nevertheless, Emma and Killian solve occasional mysteries together and keep Storybrooke citizens safe

Killian is the first member of Belle's Book Club, because he supports his friend Belle when she decides to start organizing fun activities at the library. You just know he read the original version of The Odyssey. Other book club members include for example August, sister Astrid and Leroy (who is only there for Astrid and their will-they-won't-they non-discreet romance annoys Killian to no end because he's not a bloody matchmaker why are they asking him what the other thinks of them)

The Swan-Jones family goes sailing on their family vacations every summer!

Make it a joint family vacation with Belle and little Gideon. Belle finally gets to travel and Hope and Gideon become unlikely childhood friends.

There's also at least one Swan-Jones and Charmings camping trip that includes Snow teaching Hope and Leo how to make a fire and build shelter in the wilderness, sword duels with sticks, stargazing, campfire songs, so many campfire songs! (they all have such beautiful singing voices and they should use them) This is also time for Emma to bond with her parents and experience something she didn't have as a kid

Killian Jones cannot look at a child he has some connection to without being like "Welp looks like I have to teach this little pirate everything there is to know about sailing and navigating by the stars and secret maps, I simply must, it's the code..." So Hope can tie every kind of knot there is and becomes an expert in old timey boat stuff by middle school

She loves it because 1) it's a special thing she and her dad can bond over 2) it makes her feel cool and smart 3) she's a total nerd 4) she inherited the innate love for the ocean that runs in her dad's side of the family

Hope has magic but she's not super good at it, Emma helps her practice and sometimes pulling an innocent prank on dad or grandpa is part of the practice

Killian makes so many dad jokes. And so does Emma

Killian sings Hope to sleep when she's little and Emma reads bedtime stories to her

Sometimes she reads something like Winnie the Pooh and Hope asks if Winnie the Pooh is also real and Emma shuts the book and stares at the wall and has an existential crisis for a second because who knows at this point he might as well be??

Challenge for you: Rant on something ouat related but not Captain Swan

oof. you got me on this one. this will be tough.

of course i could talk about how i unironically love the musical episode and how the songs from it actually bring me so much joy and comfort. i think the melodies and overall themes are beautiful, even if the lyrics are basic and sometimes too "disney singalong" feeling.

but...i'll admit. a lot of that has to do with how it culminates with the cs wedding and their 'happy beginning' and all...so i'll steer clear of that (unless someone asks for separate post about it, which, fine, twist my arm, i'll probably write one eventually anyway) i'm going to rant about my beloved, henry swan mills. because i loved his character from the start and i always will. i know he gets a lot of shit in this fandom, and i will defend him through all of it (aside from criticisms of jared's acting, which i do think are valid, it was his first gig and he grew up on that set, etc). i think i'm in the same boat as a lot of people of not liking the entire author plot line (maybe 'not liking' isn't the right phrase, more agonizing over the lost potential), but if anyone was going to be the author i am so glad that it was henry, and i think it fits well with the canon. at the end of the day the whole show comes back to emma and henry. and if it's one thing we know about henry, it's that he has the heart of the truest believer and he cares about getting everyone their happy ending. henry and the book are the crux of the show from season one for me, so it makes sense to ME that the fate of the book be in his hands (and i love his moment of breaking the pen, such a harry potter deathly hallows part ii moment of harry breaking the elder wand if you know what i mean) additionally, i cannot pass up the opportunity to talk about captain cobra. (i actually have a side blog captain-cobra that i might end up using one day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) but yeah. their relationship means so much to me. the connection they both have to bae, the way killian gets a second chance at being a father figure to none other than bae and emma's son like agsjkfd god i don't agree with the writers a lot but to me that is truly brilliant writing. i also love the antics they get up to together, both of their mischievous plotting sides, the way they both just want the best for emma, killian teaching him to sail, etc etc.

okay okay there was a little cs in there but i TRIED to keep it brief. thank you for the ask!!! this was a really interesting challenge for my rat brain and a perfect opportunity for a henry appreciation post.

during jobs cochise mentally does a roll call in her head even if they don't say it out loud. she'll repeat the names of everyone who's there to reassure herself.

cowgirl keeps her hat in a particular spot whenever she's not wearing it and hates whenever someone moves it and claims that her hat will stop being lucky.

fox has a lucky penny that she always carries with her because she found it on the same day the warriors found her.

cleon is the first one up and will always take a few minutes to sit on the fire escape. a moment to herself where she doesn't have to be responsible for anyone.

ajax has a morning workout routine that she needs to do before she can do anything else. i also think she always bounces on her toes before a fight.

rembrandt shakes her cans a very specific number of times before using them.

swan has a journal where she writes down like. everything about other gangs + their members + their territory. and every time they have a job swan will run through the info of anyone they might encounter.

mercy's tattoos are still bouncing around in my head so i think mercy traces over them every time she needs to ground herself.

i don't have very specific thoughts about this but lowkey i think swan is The Secret Keeper of the gang. everyone knows if they ask her not to tell anyone something then she won't. and also when someone gets themselves into trouble or needs help with something minor sometimes it's less daunting to go to swan vs cleon who is their warlord. swan's in your corner, you know?
