Art supply haul! Watercolors (tube style and pan), color pencils, loads of watercolor pencils, brushes, palette etc. Also watercolor paper, sketch pads, a cutting mat not pictured. I haven't even gotten to some of the basement caches.
I have to sort through Mom's weird crap, at least I get free art supplies out of it. (Hopefully they're not all dried up. If so, no big deal)

The London Times, November 5, 1966, page 13. The first picture of Patrick Troughton as the 2nd Doctor on Guy Fawkes' Day! I'm sure that isn't prophetic that the 2nd Doctor would be a more chaotic character than the 1st.

Arada çentik atıp geçmekle yetindiğim "Benim Müzem" tasarısıyla uyandım sabah. Kaç yıldır, on yıldır mı, taşıyorum fikri? Hiçbir zaman acelesi, önceliği olmadı bende, şimdi de öyle: Siyaha Geçiş sonrasında bıraktığım 'iş'lerden biri: Hele bir eldekileri sağ salim düze çıkarayım da, sırası gelecekse gelir.
"The Best of" değil kafamdaki, nesnellik ağırlık bir antolojiye ulaşmayı hedeflemiyorum burada.
En sona, üç "work in progress" kapağı koysam mı?! Neden olmasın - olsun.
- ciddi intihal içerir / bakınız. CXIX : Enis Batur - Merak Cemiyeti Tutanakları - İçbükeyler 2010-2011

The kind of photo you find in an envelope hidden in a drawer in your grandpa's house after his passing, when you're trying to clear it out so the house can be put on the market. The sort of keepsake that leaves the family wondering who the hell 'Frank' was, and what precisely was the nature of their relationship. Grandpa always seemed like such a straight arrow--he was a big, hulking construction foreman for most of his career, for God's sake!
Margareta Magnussen, in her recent book on 'The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning,' recommends that the elderly put such photos, love letters, and other embarrassing documents that are too dear to be destroyed into a shoebox marked 'PRIVATE--THROW OUT'. After death, It's likely that the deceased's family will be happy to just toss the box, sparing themselves the trouble of having to go through it. They've got enough crap to deal with.

Move over, Marie Kondo. Misheard 18yo and have just invented a brilliant new method of tidying up: Swedish Chef cleaning.
Step 1. Cheerfully toss stuff around.
Step 2. You're done!

The gift of having difficult conversations
This holiday season, one of the best gifts you can give the caregivers in your life as well as those nearing the end of their lives is the space and attention to have difficult conversations.
This includes not only end-of-life conversations but challenging family situations that need to be addressed. Perhaps there’s a caregiver in your family or friend circles that could use more support. If…

So yeah, back in ancient days, when I was a Doctor Who-obsessed college student and the library contained microfiches of many newspapers (do they still?), I researched in spare moments. Recently I found a whole binder of articles I printed and labeled, and possibly these are all online somewhere but yes, I'm gonna share on Tumblr because I can't just toss it all into the recycle bin after it's set in my bookcases for more than 30 years.
So the earliest mention of Doctor Who I found, "A new family series, "Dr. Who", which borders on science fiction, will be screened on Saturday," etc. From the London Times, September 13, 1963, page 6c. Considering that DW was supposed to be primarily a history series, that description seems odd (though ultimately appropriate).

Lessons on letting go
Give it all away,Don’t save it forA special day.Be generous,Be free,Don’t take yourselfSo seriously.
You can’t take itwith you,You will see.
It’s all good,It’s never all bad.Whatever the problem,It’s over now,Are you not glad?
Your energy is momentarily,Let it flow,Let it grow.
Don’t worry aboutenergy, money,or things to show.
Time is like a ring, whatever you have lost,Karma will bring it…
