It had been less than a week since the tour started and Swiss was absolutely miserable without his favorite human, Delia, around. Even though he called her every night after each ritual, it still wasn’t enough. He wanted more than anything to bring her along, but she had her duties at the church and she also wanted to stay behind and watch their kits. Sure, he adored and missed his kits more than anything, but being away from his human mate was far worse.
There was only one thing that truly kept Swiss somewhat sane during these rocky times. Before leaving, Delia let Swiss borrow some of her clothes so he could have her scent near him. Underwear, bras, shirts, and anything that he fucked her in was hidden away safely under his bunk.
It was another rough night for Swiss. He had just finished up a call with Delia but he still longed for her more than anything. He was quickly growing horny, but he didn’t want to invite his other packmates into his bunk tonight. He just wanted Delia.
The smell of her lavender perfume and sweat under his bunk filled his nose and he reached under, pulling out the suitcase. He opened it, admiring his sweet smelling treasures with a sad smile.
“Sweet Lucifer, I miss you, Delia,” he murmured, picking up a ripped up pair of lacy black panties. He brought the panties to his face, inhaling her intoxicating scent with a moan. Fuck, it was so good.
Swiss licked at the panties, his hand going down his pants. He could taste the combined smells of Delia and himself in the panties. He fucked her in these the night before he left for the tour. They still smelled fresh.
“Delia,” he moaned, jerking himself off, his eyes closed as he pictured how Delia looked beneath and above him, taking every hard inch of his cock like the absolute goddess she was. He instinctively thrusted against the air, biting his lip as he imagined how she would ride him when he returned to her. Sure, he could get Cumulus to ride him like Delia later, but it just wouldn’t be the same.
He was going to have to send her pics of the mess he made once he was done. She would love it.
“Delia~,” he moaned again, his tongue hanging out as he rubbed the panties all over his face while picking up the pace. He had slipped out of his boxers which were now around his knees. He didn’t pay any attention to them. All of his focus was on picturing Delia in the heat of passion.
There was a knock above his bunk followed by an annoyed growl.
“Keep it down, Swiss,” Dewdrop grumbled.
“Fuck off,” Swiss growled back, never breaking his pace.
He didn’t care if the others heard. If they had a problem, then they would have to say it to his face. He went back to moaning away until he came, shooting his thick load on his belly and chest. He relaxed into the bunk, breathing heavily, his cock spent and leaking as it laid on his soft stomach.
“This is gonna be a long tour,” he murmured to himself, getting another whiff of Delia’s panties. His eyes rolled back into his head at how good it smelled. He could go a few more rounds, but he was quickly growing tired after such a long day. This was just what he needed.
With a yawn, he rubbed the panties along his belly and his cock, smirking at how beautiful they looked stained with his seed. He then grabbed his nearby phone and took a picture of them before sending the picture to Delia. Hopefully he would wake up to something just as dirty from his beloved little human in the morning.
“Miss you, sweetheart,” he whispered, sending the message to her before putting the panties back with the other items in the case. He pulled out one of her dresses and held it close to his face and chest as he got comfortable in the cot, purring softly while nuzzling his nose against it. Lavender and vanilla. Perfect for falling asleep.
“Just a few more months,” he whispered, drifting off to sleep, his thoughts only on Delia.

𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖕𝖙𝖊𝖗 3 - 𝕸𝖔𝖔𝖓𝖑𝖎𝖙 𝕿𝖗𝖆𝖓𝖈𝖊
Days pass with my only company being Aether and occasionally Rain. I’m starting to feel like that princess in the tower, waiting to be rescued by a prince I don’t yet know. Ok, maybe a prince I do know would be less creepy.
I wake up one cold night, alone in Aether’s bedroom since he decided to sleep in someone else’s tonight to get me used to being alone. Dewdrop, I think he said?
Well, turns out that wasn’t a great idea, considering I’m wide awake at… 2:52 in the night. But what am I to do, wake him- both of them up because I couldn’t sleep? Sounds oddly selfish.
Perhaps the bond has started to form without me noticing, because I can almost feel something missing from inside my chest as well as a chilling silence inside my mind. Though it’s hard to say if that’s just paranoia.
No, I don’t need anyone’s help to fall back asleep - I’d been doing that for who knows how long in Hell. And if you can fall asleep in Hell, you can fall asleep anywhere.
Or at least that’s what I thought. It’s proven wrong after around 10 minutes of tossing and turning. After all of that, I end up turned towards the door, from where I see light coming through the crack. That wasn’t like that when I went to sleep…
Realizing that I'm not going to sleep just yet, I get up while rubbing the sleepiness out of my eyes.
After passing through the first door, I find the door out of the common room open as well and so I pass through it as well.
Moonlight spills into the abbey's grand hallway from the courtyard in the middle, from where a soft melody sings - energetic and warm. The singer’s voice is sensual and deep, curling like a beckoning hand around my mind, urging me closer to it.
I follow the jazzy tune out to the courtyard, where the moon can be seen clearly as I look up. It’s at this moment I realized I’ve never seen a moon, or a sun! Hell doesn’t have either, only a dark void as the roof that looks suspiciously like the insides of a long-deceased giant creature.
It’s round and bright. So much brighter than I thought it’d be! It looks like the largest, shiniest, roundest pearl in an ocean of stars. It’s breathtaking, so much better than the books described.
The sound of melodic humming snaps me out of a trance, running to quickly and quietly hide behind the nearest bench like a feral cat. I’m not alone.
After calming my breathing as much as possible, look over my cover to find the source of such a lovely sound. Another ghoul!
They lie on the edge of the fountain, bathed in moonlight, eyes closed and expression as serene as can be. Their voice is light and sweet, like a spring breeze, matching the music player so perfectly, it almost seems like it’s their song.
The music player itself is a curious thing - it’s open, spinning a disk as large as a cat and as dark as coal while a needle slides along its grooves. It looks vaguely familiar and interesting in itself, but I’m far more captivated by the unknown ghoul.
Their skin is a dark brown, disaturated like all the others, hair is even darker, strands tightly curled and soft-looking. Lips are plump and turned in a peaceful smile, lines around them indicating an easy-going personality. My eyes can’t help but move down, which makes me feel slightly creepy, which is the weirdest part. This is supposed to be normal for a pack. At least that's what Aether told me… Maybe I feel this way because I’m not truly one of them yet.
The thought makes me drum my claws against the stone of the bench nervously - it feels wrong to think it, no matter how much I’m inclined to believe it.
Lost in self doubt, I fail to notice the humming has stopped, the ghoul’s chest (barely covered by a white tank top) stutters in surprise and two dark caramel orbs reveal themselves from beneath lazy lids, “Take a picture, it’ll last longer.”
I gasp, crouching lower to try and hide myself again - an utterly fruitless endeavor as the ghoul’s eyes remain glued to my form, curious and amused by the lazy flicker of his dark tail and the small flash of white teeth between dark lips. They announce as much, “No use hiding now, cutie.”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to stare.” I stand up awkwardly, fidgeting with my nails for something to do. They’re long, could use a trim… do ghouls even do that?
“It’s alright, no problem with staring. What is a problem, is you not introducing yourself. Now that is quite rude.” He’s toying with me, that much I can tell, and deriving quite a lot of amusement from it. He must be Swiss.
“M-My name is Ghoulie… for now.”
"Oh, you're just as cute as they said you'd be. My name is Swiss, but you probably already know that." His words bring heat up to my cheeks, just what have they been saying about me?
“What are you doing?” I ask, moving closer slowly, still looking over his casual pose.
"Bathing in the moonlight~" He responds playfully, stretching with something between a purr and a growl, satisfied, no doubt.
"I see…" I return to fidgeting, now only a step around from the fountain, not sure of what to say. A familiar feeling festers deep in my gut, an old friend and something close to an enemy at the moment.
We've just met, so why the Hell do I feel like this?
Aether's late night ramblings about the rest of the pack come to mind. Swiss was described as 'one horny fucker and far too charismatic for his own good. The Sisters' favorite, for obvious reasons.'
"You always been this shy, or is it just me?" His hand hovers close to me, I feel something prod at my mind, like knocking on a door in a dream - the bond.
I close my eyes, concentrating to try and break down the wall that separates us, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. It feels vaguely like trying to put an electrical plug into an outlet in the dark - it’s a lot of feeling around and hoping you don’t get electrocuted.
A warm hand settles on my arm, urging me to open my eyes to meet his caramel orbs, “It’s ok, you’ll get there.”
“So everyone keeps saying.” I grumble, crossing my arms stubbornly. Swiss scoffs, amused, before patting the spot beside himself, urging me to sit down.
“Isn’t it supposed to be working already?” Frustration bleeds into my tone as I sit down, knees tucked to my chest.
“It’s different for everyone. Sometimes it has to do with your personality, sometimes it’s your element - do you know what yours is?” He can’t hide his curiosity, even if he actually tried to, it’d be painfully obvious by the widening of his eyes and how his breath shortens.
“No… no clue at all.” I sigh dejectedly, “What’s yours?”
“Well… did Aether tell you about element combinations and all that?” I blink up at him, combinations? “I guess that’s a no.”
He sits up straighter, indulgent smile on his lips making his fangs peek out from between them, “Alright, so there's the main 5, which I'm sure he's told you about; water, fire, earth, air and quintessence. But there's one more, it's extremely rare so I don't blame him for skipping it… also for… other reasons." His dark caramel eyes dark to the side briefly, remembering something no doubt unpleasant.
What other reasons…?
"Anyways, that last element is shadow or darkness. There's only ever been one full shadow ghoul and plus me. Kinda. I'm a Multi-Ghoul - fire, earth and shadow." His chest puffs out proudly as he says while my eyes widen in wonder. Why didn't Aether tell me? Did he really just forget?
"All of that just so you keep in mind that you might also be a Multi. And to explain what I'm doing out here. I guess the shadow side of me likes the full moon the best, so I indulge every time I can." He looks up at it with a reverence I cannot yet understand, as if all is right in the world when he looks at it. I hope one day I'll get to feel that too.
"Enough of all that sentimental shit, how's your tail coming along?" He grabs it before I can react, making my spine straighten like a bow string. The corners of his eyes twitch as his peaceful smile turns mischievous at the gasp I let out. “Seems like it’s still quite sensitive. That’s normal, don’t worry.” Though his voice is kind, his hands are not as he continues to rub and pinch my tail in ways that make my stomach flip.
“D-Don’t–”
“Don’t what? Don’t stop?” He chuckles, lips close to my flushed ears. "I don't need a bond to know you don't want me to stop."
I hate that he's right. But I also don't, not when it feels so good. I quickly realize that I hate that I'm so easy to read. I've gotten too comfortable being around ghouls like Aether and Rain - gentle and sweet, more interested in leading me by the hand than teasing me.
"... But I guess that's too bad." The warmth of his hands disappear and not even the hand in front of my mouth is enough to muffle the sad, little whine that you make in response. "I'm not risking Aether's wrath when I can be patient and wait for my turn."
"Wait, what are you talking about?"
"You're smart, at least from what I heard. You'll figure it out." That sneaky little smile is back on his face.
A mix between pleading and frustration settles over my face, directed at Swiss, whose grin wavers indulgently.
"Listen, if you haven't figured it out yet then either you're not as smart as everyone thinks or," My nose scrunches, mildly insulted despite his jovial tone, "and I find this one more likely, you're not meant to know yet. Plus, this is a conversation you really should be having with Aether, not me."
His dismissal is beyond suspicious, but I reason with myself that I don't quite know him yet - maybe the mysterious vibe is just his thing. I hold myself back from making a joke about him being shady.
Swiss shoos me back to my - Aether’s - room, not long after and I go with heavy lids and a mind full of questions.
Perhaps I should check the library when I get the chance.

The Manager (Ghost Fic) Chapter 1
Summary: The Ministry announces an outsider coming to be part of the congregation to help with the Ghost project as a tour manager; little did the Ghoul know; she is nothing like they pictured her or how she'd affect them all.
Support My Work!
"Now, I want you all to be nice, ghouls! This is the third manager we have had in the span of 6 months! If you dare run her off-" Copia wagged a finger at the group resulting in a few scoffs.
"It's not our fault the last ones didn't know how to handle us." Dewdrop sneered crossing his arms behind his back.
"Dew, you caught the poor girl's dress on fire!" Copia protested waving his hands around wildly
Dewdrop's smile was anything but innocent. "I was showing her a party trick."
Swiss snorted beside him making Rain whack the Multi-Ghoul on the arm with disapproval. "Papa we'll be on our best behavior I promise!" Rain vowed before giving his packmates a glare. "Right?"
Phantom snickered but it ended up in a cough as he met the small Water Ghoul's stern glare. "Right, we promise Papa."
Copia huffed and nodded just as the doors to his office opened and a Sister walked in. "Papa, your guest has arrived." she announced as she stepped aside to allow the figure behind her to step up.
She was not at all what any of them had imagined. She was not of their Ministry, an outsider very much out of place standing in Copia's lavished office and it made the Ghouls so silent as Papa stepped forward with an extended hand to shake the one the young woman offered.
"Ah, Mrs. Whitmore thank you so much for coming on such short notice!" the man said as he shook the woman's hand before placing a kiss on the back of her hand.
"I should be thanking you, Copia. I was really intrigued when we spoke earlier about this proposition," she replied with a warm smile. "And please, call me Ari."
"Si...please take a seat!" Copia waved her over as he shuffled behind his desk.
The woman, Ari gracefully moved over to the chairs; casting a friendly smile towards the masked figures standing off to the side before sitting down and placing her leather carrier case on the ground by her feet. She wore civilian clothes, a simple pair of jeans, and a warm cream-colored sweater that was sure to keep her warm in the cold season of Autumn that swirled leaves through the abbey with its chilly breath. Her hair was dark brown and curly; pulled into a neat ponytail at the back of her head. Definitely not what they had imagined when the Ghouls were informed a new replacement was being put on the Ghost Project as a manager; in all honesty, they had expected an older woman in her mid-forties - Sister Imperator's age...not this....lovely creature sitting there right now.
She was so attentive and open as she spoke with Copia, coming well prepared as she slipped a notebook from her bag to take notes on as she listened to the papa speak; jotting down vital information to store for later, no doubt.
"Ah, and before I forget and get ahead of myself this is a file of all my ghouls with their personal information that has been taken down and noted from the previous managers to ease your transition-" The file that was pushed towards her came to a halt as she placed her hand on it; stopping its movements.
Her smile was small but sincere as she pushed it back to the man across from her. "I won't need it." she said sitting back.
"But-but Mrs. Ari-" Copia floundered in confusion; only going silent when she tipped her head at him with an amused smile tugging at her lips.
"Copia, I would like to get something straight. I do not plan to leave anytime soon or be run off. The others who worked for you taking care of your needs and those of the ghouls while on tour lacked one particular detail that is vital to a job like this; I can tell you that much without having to meet the previous managers."
"And what is that mio caro?" the man asked curiously
"They lacked a sense of vulnerability to this job." she lifted a hand idly as she spoke and waved it around as she continued.
"I presume since they did not last long they didn't take the care to actually get to know the ghouls they had under their care. They saw a job that needed to be done and when the pressure of their personalities got the best of them - they left because they couldn't handle it. They didn't see their job as anything more than a paycheck and that was their first mistake, their second was that they didn't take the time to understand the ghouls and their needs; instead looked at them as if they were just a hindrance or a child they were having to babysit. What differentiates me from them, is that I do, in fact, care about this project. Not because of the pay." she turned her gaze to the silent group that had yet to make a sound since she arrived.
"I care because I know they are not just an object to be used as a tool for this project. Without them, the project wouldn't be possible and thus they deserve as much respect as they do the comfort of knowing they won't be overlooked and undermined simply because they are not human as you and I." she returned her attention to the man; her laugh of delight at his gobsmacked expression causing the corners of her eyes to crinkle as she smiled at him.
"So, I won't need those files. Everything I need to know about your ghouls, Copia I will learn on my own by actually getting to know them personally; not basing them off of a spreadsheet in a folder." she pushed the file back towards him before closing her notebook and putting it away into her own bag.
"Now, I know we spoke about the details of my job description but I hope you would shed some light on what I can do to help when we are not on tour. What will my duties off tour include?" she folded her hands in her lap and stared across at the skull-faced man; waiting patiently for him to pick his jaw up off the floor and gather his own thoughts before speaking.
"Ah, si. So, it is no real difference then what is expected of you on tour. You will manage their practice schedule, and make sure they have everything they need when the seasons change; each ghoul is particularly sensitive to the change of seasons for obvious reasons. When not with the ghouls I will need your help with planning out the setlist of the next tour, being there for practices to make sure everything is going well, taking notes when needed; booking venues and ticket booth stuff as well as merch stalls while we aren't on tour. Planning for the future tours and such." Papa explained watching as Ari nodded slowly while she took in his words.
She was not stressed in the least; the amount of work that seemed to be piled onto her plate was a rather big task to partake in but she didn't sweat it and instead took in the information carefully; the look in her eyes making Copia imagine her gears turning as she filed away data.
"And lodgings?" the woman finally replied.
"You will be staying in the manager's suit across the hall from the Ghoul's wing for easy access when you're needed. I hope that is alright with you?" Copia looked suddenly nervous but relaxed when Ari merely shrugged and pursed her lips.
"Sounds like a solid plan, now before we end this meeting Papa would you mind giving me the previous work files of the last manager on duty so I can see where they left off?"
"Si si...you certainly don't miss a beat." Copia laughed as he rolled away a bit to dig through a drawer in his desk.
"What can I say? I'm very thorough." she gave a playful wink before extending a hand to grab the rather large stack of folders labeled differently on the wings.
"Thank you, Ari. We look forward to a long and fruitful partnership." Copia gave her a warm look and Ari returned it with one of her own before she grabbed her bag from the floor and rose to her feet with the folders tucked against her chest.
"Likewise, Copia. Now, if you don't mind...I do have a few bags that are waiting in the lobby for me to take to my new quarters and I'll retire for the evening to sort all this mess out." she tapped the folders with a finger.
"Si si mio caro. We'll talk more tomorrow, if you need me I'll either be in here or in my bed chambers down the hall! In the meantime, my ghouls will show you the way."
Ari nodded and headed for the door, pausing only briefly to look over her shoulder when she heard footsteps behind her. She snorted a bit as she opened the office door and slipped into the hallway; joined moments later by the black-clad figures.
"You aren't a very talkative bunch, are you? that's alright, I'm sure we'll get to know each other soon." she said as she followed the group down the hallway.
"Did you mean it?" a voice spoke up shyly to her right causing her head to swivel to peer at an average height Ghoul as he walked right behind her shoulder.
"Hmm?"
"About what you said back there to Papa. About us." he clarified.
"Of course I did! I don't say things I don't mean, honey," she replied with a small smile. "Now I know my word means nothing to you. Trust isn't something that's easily given when it comes to strangers but I hope we all can be friends while we work closely together, alright?"
The ghoul nodded once before falling back into silence as they led her toward the Ghoul Wing. They stopped at a wooden double door across the hall from another and paused there.
"We'll have someone bring you your luggage in a few minutes. In the meantime, Mrs. Whitmore this is where we will part ways..." the tallest of the ghouls spoke up in a rumble.
"Thank you for the escort." Ari smiled back at him before turning to open the door only to stop when another voice piped up.
"Hey! Err, before you go...we just wanted to let you know we appreciate what you said back there to Papa and...if you want...we'd like for you to join us at our table for breakfast in the morning, for proper introductions and such, y'know?"
Ari chuckled and turned to look at them. "I would love that!"
"Okay, cool. We'll uh, we'll come pick you up?" it was stated more as a question than a statement and Ari smirked in amusement.
"Sounds like a plan. Goodnight, guys. Sleep well." And with her parting words, she slipped through the door and softly closed it behind her.

Nothing more Unholy than this
Divider by cafekitsune
Florence wouldn't say they're lovers. They definitely weren't, but they had already passed over the line of friendship. Most people don't fuck their best friend but the ghouls weren't ordinary people. Known for being extremely affectionate to those they considered a part of their pack. Not bothering to deal with pesky distinctions, if they wanted to fuck another ghoul and said ghoul was down to fuck...well, that's all they needed. So how did Flora end up in this mess? Lying in bed with the multi-ghoul, uniform strewn around the room. Florence's tits bouncing as Swiss hammered into their cunt. Legs wrapped around his hips, grunts and moans accompanying the sound of skin plopping against skin.
'What's there to be ashamed about?' Swiss murmured. The two now cuddled up in postcoital bliss. Swiss resting his head atop Flora's as they listened to his heartbeat. His tail lazily wrapped around their calf. 'It's not that I'm ashamed, I really like you. It's just I'm worried about what others will say. That they'll ask for a label and...'
'You like this, the ambiguity. But Flora, that's still shame,' brushing a claw against their cheek, 'You can tell them to fuck off or that we don't have a label, we're just...us.' Swiss gave a fang-toothed smile at their laugh. 'What? It's the truth. One that is none of their business.' Thinking it over, Flora whispered a simple 'okay' against his skin.
'So you wouldn't mind if I decided to stop you in the halls for a kiss? Or if I were to slip my hand into yours?'
'No, I wouldn't.'
'Good.'

Ghouls By Nature Fandom/Universe: Ghost (band) Characters/Pairing: Swiss Ghoul x OC AO3 Link(full tags, warnings etc here) Word count: 3,147 words Synopsis: Cadence is not particularly shy when it comes to admitting what he wants. On this occasion though, Swiss can tell before he even has a chance to. Author's Note: This was actually the first one of these fics I finished, almost a month ago now! I post about my Ghost OC Cade on my other account @chase-the-music so I'll be reblogging this there. More about Gorekinktober on my pinned post here! Kinktober prompt(s) used: Predator/Prey Goretober prompt used: N/A
Cadence is pretty fucking tired right now. But he guesses he should probably get up off of his back eventually. With a soft sigh, the Advocatus Angeli heaves himself off of the squishy red mat on the floor of his office and into a seated position, smiling to himself.
In theory that had only been meant to be a little break from work, but it had taken a while, and honestly? He didn't think he was getting back to it tonight anyway. He'd been working so late that the words on the pages had all started to jumble together, and it had already grown dark outside. Maybe he should go get a snack or something, get to bed early. He grabs his thigh-high boots that he'd discarded beside him and pulls them on. As he's doing up the zips, he hears footsteps coming towards his open doorway at that point, so he leans forwards with his arms perched on his knees to see who's approaching.
He's half-expecting it to be Sister coming to drop yet another stack of paperwork on his desk, but instead, to his pleasant surprise, two long horns pop into view, followed by the head of their owner peering around the doorframe with an unusual degree of caution. "Alright Swiss?" Cade greets with a smile. Once he's looked over him and the office however, Swiss grins and waves at him, exuding his usual more confident demeanour again as his tall frame steps into the doorway fully.
"Valerio." he replies amicably, pretending to tip his hat to him, making Cade smile in return. He got on with most of the Ghouls and Ghoulettes now, but it was unsurprising he had his favourites. Seeing one back to back with the other was ideal. "Looking for a... partner?" he asks with a raised brow, nodding at his friend on the mat.
"Oh." he chuckles. "No, it's alright, me and Cumie were just sparring." He smiles slightly. "We were pretty well matched actually, lasted ages."
"Oh really?" Swiss asks in reply. "Hmm... bet she went easy on you."
"Erm, no, if anything I went easy on her." Cade replies haughtily. It wasn't entirely untrue, considering he'd been reluctant to put an end to it too soon. He paused. "We had to call it a draw in the end though because she has movie night with Cirrus tonight."
"I see..." the Ghoul replies. He pauses. "Does that... bother you?" he asks in a casually inquisitive tone.
Cade looks up at him, cocking his head to one side "What?" he asked, genuinely unsure why he was asking. "Why would it bother me?"
"Oh, I just meant because you're attracted to her." Swiss explained with a light shrug.
That caught Cade completely off guard. Not because he didn't have a point, but because he definitely wasn't expecting it. "Wh-what?" he asks.
"I said you're attracted to Cumulus." Swiss says with equal nonchalance but considerably louder. He definitely knew what he was doing by the teasing grin on his face, too.
"Shhhh-" Cade hisses back abruptly with a scowl, waving his arms to silence the Ghoul without really thinking about how much more obvious that made it. He beckons Swiss closer so he could talk more quietly and the other obliges. "OK fine, look, I'm not getting all lovey-dovey about her or anything like that." he explained honestly. "She's my friend and... well yeah, obviously I... think she's hot." He side-eyed Swiss a little. "But how did you know that?" He was a little obvious with these things, he had to admit; he was unable to resist flirting a little with anyone he felt inclined towards. But he didn't recall Swiss seeing the two of them interact that much. He tended to spend time one-on-one with his friends where he could.
"Well you did just say you were playing with her-" Swiss begins to explain.
"Sparring with." Cade corrects, not sure if he's doing so because he doesn't want rumours that could upset her to spread or because further slightly distracting images could be elicited in his brain by that choice of words.
"-and the pheromones you're throwing out are stronger than usual." he finishes matter-of-factly, ignoring Cade's interjection.
"You... you can...?" Cade began, cutting himself off. "Oh for fucks sake, I bloody knew it." he groans in annoyance. A thought about whether he emitted some kind of Ghoul pheromones had crossed his mind some time ago, but he figured since none had shown much reaction to it, it was just paranoia on his part. "So... can she tell?"
Swiss shrugs. "I'm more sensitive to it than the other Ghouls." he clarifies. "But if she was that close to you, I'm guessing she knows." Cade didn't fully know what to do with this information. He wasn't sure how far he wanted to go with that attraction in the first place. Maybe she wasn't either. Maybe they were at a metaphorical stalemate much like the physical one they'd been in minutes earlier.
They'd only had one conversation about that sort of thing, a few days back in fact. He'd been subtly trying to find out if she was into men, or humans for that matter so he'd steered the conversation in that direction himself while braiding her long, cloudlike hair.
"I like to be chased a little." he recalled her saying as she turned back to look at him, her tail swishing slightly and brushing against his stomach, making him shiver softly. He wasn't sure he understood that. It wasn't like he spoke every sordid thought that crossed his mind, particularly when he was convinced nothing would come of it, but he was straightforward enough when someone else showed interest. It would make it a lot easier if everyone was like that. Or if he had the sense Swiss seemed to have, for that matter.
"Wait, wait hang on, how come I can't sense them then?" he asked in realisation.
"I would imagine since you're only part Ghoul?" Swiss suggested. "I don't really know how hybrids work. That's why you're so... fascinating." There was no sarcasm to it, just a friendly smile as he offers Cade a hand up from the mat.
"God, that's so fucking unfair." the shorter male complains, but takes the hand to get up to his feet. "So... you can basically pick up on everyone I'm attracted to?"
"Why, how many are there?" Swiss teases, though there's definitely a thread of genuine intrigue in it. Cade simply lets out a huff of laughter in response. There wasn't anyone he was seriously hung up on, not at the moment, but when it came to people he found hot...? Well there was a bit of a variation. "OK, no, not as such." he confirms as he loosens his grip on his friend's hand, his touch lingering for a moment. "It's more... instinctive. Just because I know when you're hungry doesn't mean I always know who you're hungry for, right?" He finally let go, Cade bringing the hand back to rest on his own chest. Swiss had a hell of a grip, but it had always been oddly endearing.
"Hmm." he responded thoughtfully. It wasn't like this was something he wasn't comfortable talking about. "Well I... guess I have had reason to be a little... "hungrier"... than usual recently." It had been some time since he'd had sex and right now he was too stressed with work to decide what he even wanted to do about that. It was no surprise he'd used a brief window of free time to get in some physical contact with one of the people he was attracted to.
"Positively starving." Swiss teases him, leaning down towards him a little. Cade's suddenly very aware of his own heartbeat. He never tends to have an issue with someone getting into his personal space, in fact he's usually the one doing it to others. But there is the very odd occasion when it can be just a tad... overwhelming. He leans back slightly against his desk, placing both hands flat on top of it in an attempt to get some space and fight the feeling he already knows is weaving its way through his body.
"I think that's... an overexaggeration." he responds, shaking his head to get his hair out of his face. Swiss looks him up and down, but doesn't attempt to come closer again... which is a shame because now the sense of overwhelm is gone, Cade finds himself missing it. The grass is always greener, he supposes. It takes a lot of self-control to stay poised, prevent himself moving closer.
"Then why did I pick up on you from Sister's office, hmm?" Swiss challenges. Cade frowns at him for a moment, trying to assess if he means it.
"...Bollocks." he eventually scoffs. "There is no way you can smell my pheromones from all the way across the Ministry." But it raises some questions for him. A lot of questions. Like why, if that were the case, Swiss would choose to follow that scent. His pulse quickens a little. Maybe he doesn't need to be holding himself back so much after all. Swiss pauses for a moment, eyes fixed on him.
"Tell you what." he responds with a mischievous smile. "I'll prove it. You make your way to anywhere in the grounds." Swiss looks him up and down, and then peers down at him determinedly. "And I'll hunt you down."
The words send a little shiver up Cade's spine. He manages to swallow and feign nonchalance though, raising his brows in amusement. "You know I'm not really the type to be "hunted"..." he insists with a slightly nervous chuckle. He has a point. He's excellent at evading people if he really wants to. He's a fast runner, has quick reflexes, and thanks to his fairly small stature he can fit into some unusual places. But he can't deny the surprising level of excitement tingling in his chest at the prospect. He reaches to push his hair back over his shoulders so it's out of the way, then puts his hands on his hips, straightening up off the desk. "...so firstly, you better get a good trail on me or however this works because it is fucking on." he confirms, to which Swiss emits a low chuckle at his acceptance. "Secondly..." he says, peering up at Swiss through his dark lashes flirtily. He knows exactly what he's doing but he can't help himself. "...need I remind you I need to stay horny for your little game to work?"
Swiss's laugh morphs into a far more booming one at that. He leans closer to Cade, his locs brushing softly against the bare section of the others chest and neck, a grin still plastered on his face. At first it looks like he's intent to stare him right down, but at the last moment he diverts to the side; hovering his nose and mouth against the side of Cade's now exposed neck and taking a deep inhale of his scent. Cade responds with a barely audible gasp and shifts slightly, hand gripping to the table as Swiss's own fragrance- earthy and musky and tempting- embraces him too. He may not have the ability to smell pheromones but he certainly knows what he wants. The preceding exhale is hot against his neck as Swiss speaks again.
"I don't think that's going to be a problem, little lynx..." he replies. Cade has a feeling his choice of animal is very much significant. Deadly to a mouse or a bird or even a deer. But one that to a wolf or a bear or a larger big cat... could very well be prey. A challenge. "...do you?" It's evident to Cade now that the excitement tingling through him definitely extends beyond the spirit of friendly competition now. Then again, from the way his heart had started pounding from the minute Swiss helped him up, it likely had from the get-go. He turns his head to lock eyes with the Ghoul, a hazy feeling flooding his brain, and for a second he questions if they're really going to play this game because right now he's not sure he wants to go anywhere. But the other proceeds no further, hovering and breathing onto his neck for just a few more moments before drawing back up to his full stature and folding his arms. "I think you deserve a good head start, though." he adds. "Got to be a severe disadvantage being mostly human." Cade gives him an amused look, circles the other in order to get around him without turning his back, but his steps are shaky.
"Y-you might regret that." he chuckles, some of his usual confidence missing; he can't seem to take his eyes off his supposed opponent. "If you don't find me within... half an hour, I win." he adds haughtily. He's not sure if he's trying to up the urgency or the degree of challenge. Either way some part of him is hoping it'll lure the other in further. Swiss nods but doesn't break the stare, and it feels odd to turn away, so Cade finds himself striding backwards out of his own office. He's still perfectly confident in his abilities. But he thinks his motivations might have shifted quite dramatically. He gives Swiss a smirk before he disappears from the doorway, turning on his heel abruptly so he can walk forwards, glancing once back over his shoulder before proceeding towards the nearest door to the garden. It's only when he's outside, and the chilly evening air hits him, that he breaks into a jog, then a run.
He knows where to head for. Maybe it's a little predictable, but there's a wooded area to the back of the gardens. It's about as far from his office as you can get, and there are places to hide. Is he really going to play this game? It seems a little silly. What if he just ends up getting lost amongst the trees while Swiss wanders aimlessly to find him? But then the alternate outcome overtakes him, the thought of what will happen if Swiss catches him, and it keeps him going; he realises at that point that he's not running to escape, he's running because he wants to be caught.
So he's rather pleased when, as he glances back right before heading into the thicket of trees, he thinks he catches Swiss in the distance heading out one of the other doors from the Ministry. He runs at first, but then slows, ducks behind a tree, turns to check where the other is. But as soon as he sees the Ghoul he runs again. Not wanting to get caught just yet. But wanting to make sure he's still being chased. He didn't expect it to be quite this thrilling, but every time he spots the other male, the tingling feeling in his chest swells a little more. The full Ghoul clearly has more stamina than him though, because soon Cade begins to actually need the occasional stops more and more, and the gap is closing rather rapidly. He decides to divert off the main path and off to the left, ducking behind a tree for a longer breather. His breath is reduced to deep panting now, but the friction he's feeling against the front of his tight trousers confirms it's not just from the physical exertion. Maybe he finally understands why Cumulus said she likes to be chased. Though she definitely didn't mean it this literally.
He leans back, closing his eyes for a moment, then opens them and peers around the side of the tree once more. It appears Swiss didn't go the same way as him, because he looks for a while but he can no longer spot him anywhere. Hmm. A little disappointing, but maybe when he's able to run again he can make his way to somewhere more obvious. It's only when he looks forward again that he sees a forked tree mere metres front of him... with a pair of eyes illuminated by the moonlight peering from between them. "Oh... shit..." he mutters under his breath, but it's too late. He doesn't even have time to fully turn around before Swiss has caught up with him, reaching a hand to the back of Cade's head to prevent him getting knocked out as he tackles him right to the floor.
After that initial act of care however, all caution is thrown to the wind as Swiss pins Cade to the ground with his torso and begins to pull on his hair and take enthused bites of anywhere he can reach; his earlobe, his jaw, his neck, his shoulders. Cade responds with grunts and moans and gasps and rough scratches of his nails against Swiss's arms and back and chest, before he eventually grabs for the demon's horns and coaxes him into a rough, messy kiss. With the other's body pressed right against him, he can feel a warm, large shape growing firm against the crease between his groin and thigh. He moans lightly into the kiss, glad it's not just him, and runs his tongue across the Ghoul's jaw and down his neck.
"Quite some tool you've got there Mr. Swiss army knife." he teases in the other's ear, pushing his hips up into the contact. "You didn't give me much of a head start though." he points out, though with his breathy tone it comes out as far more of a tease than a genuine complaint.
Swiss gives a rather throaty laugh. "You say that, but you probably could have outrun me if you'd taken those ridiculous heels off." he chides in return, running a hand down the outside of one of Cade's thighs until he grazes the leather of his boots. Then he lifts himself up higher and flips Cade over, lifting his hips so he's on all fours beneath him and reaching around to undo the buttons on his shirt.
"Well, yeah, I probably could've..." Cade admits, as he turns back slightly, getting a good look at just how hot Swiss looks in the moonlight as his scent weaves around him once more. He hesitates, but ultimately decides to give it away. "...But I think you know why I didn't."
Swiss slips Cade's shirt down off his shoulders and leans over his whole body, nuzzling against the back of his neck and inhaling once more, only this time he lets out a guttural groan in response, grinding against his ass hard and taking another bite of his shoulder that makes the Advocatus gasp. "Yes..." he murmurs softly as he takes Cade's wrists in that firm grip of his and slides them forward against the dewy grass, pulling his upper body down. "...I think I do..."

Red Flags and Long Nights - Swiss Ghoul x Reader Chapter 5
AO3 Link Here!
Seeing the large demon cornering a sister with a flushed and panicked face in the library's silence probably looks horrible to this man. He looks as if he has just stopped another murder from occurring.
"Back away from the sister, ghoul." he snarls.
Thanks for reading, friends. I am working on introducing more of the other ghouls as well, but I have so much anxiety about getting their personalities right.lmao

Chapter I:ℜ𝔞𝔦𝔫𝔶 𝔇𝔞𝔶
Sodo/Dewdrop x fem!reader
Summary: Copia summons a new nameless ghoul
Word Count: 1977
Note: bad english, i'm new to this whole ghost thing, correct me if i'm wrong on anything, I will use a name for the protagonist for more practicality.
Chapter II...→
The place was devoured by darkness, thunder rumbled outside the abbey like cries from heaven in response to profane acts, the wind hit the stained glass windows and lightning illuminated them with a flash of light, stained glass windows that reflected images of Baphomet and other demons. . Regarding Cardinal Copia, his face seemed extremely serious, something unusual for him but the situation warranted it. In each corner of a pentagram were each Ghoul and Ghoulette, the tools of the ritual. It would be an important night, a gift for the group, a refreshing element for the world.
Copia looked up at the sky, looking behind the glass dome above their heads at the moon obscuring the sun, the time had come, he walked down the stairs towards the group, with a light touch to the ground and the gunpowder ignited, burning powerful and bright, until completing the figure of a pentagram connecting with each Ghoul. The group placed their instruments in front of them, giving each other a supportive look.
Montain set the rhythm with the drums, Cumulus took the keyboard with Cirrus, Swiss and Aurora started the singing, Phantom activated his rhythm guitar, Rain shone with his bass and Sodo showed off his guitar. The instrumental flooded the chapel, the melody reverberated in every foundation and made the place shake. The ritual had a single motive, a single need, each Ghoul gave his best, letting some of his essence flow over the fire, calling one of his own, inviting whatever responded on the other side to come out of the darkness and join them.
"Belial, Behemoth, Beelzebub" Cardinal Copia sang, calling to the great leaders, asking for a demon from among his legions "Asmodeus, Satanas, Lucifer"
The place was filled with abysmal and intelligible murmurs, beings from the other side of the pentagram observing from the shadows without daring to cross the threshold. Copia looked proud and excited like a child to feel so many presences present with him, all interested in her vocation. Lightning fell around the Ministry with more force than before, attracted by the power, Swiss and Aurora began their prayers, in a language that only the creatures of the abyss could understand.
A murmur rose from everyone, a shiver ran through the body of all the Ghouls, something had answered the call and had crossed.
Thick black smoke emerged from the gunpowder and condensed into a humanoid figure with no fixed features other than shining fangs. He made small jumps inside the pentagram from one side to the other, looking (if you can put it that way) at each of the ghouls, analyzing them with amusement.
He danced with small childish leaps from one to another, from air to earth, from earth to quintessence, from quintessence to water. She tried to get closer to Sodo, the fire demon. He showed her fangs and the small cloud of smoke walked away scared, it was clear that she didn't want another Fire Ghoul and honestly one was more than enough. She snuck between Montain's drum set cymbals, breaking her personal space several times to check her height in amazement, the ghoul couldn't help but smile nervously.
Cirrus and Cumulus greeted the entity excitedly, letting out small laughs to get its attention. The figure floated towards them and smiled back, playing with the cloaks on their shoulders. She briefly made eye contact with Rain, but out of shyness it wasn't long before the ghoul looked away from her. The specter laughed softly and danced around Phantom a little, plucking the strings of his acoustic guitar with his ethereal hand. Swiss and Aurora laughed at the scene, enjoying seeing how the humanoid being seemed delighted with everyone present, both demons rubbing shoulders in complicity.
Cardinal Copia was excited, this was his first ritual to summon Ghouls from hell, although he somewhat regretted Sodo's bitter attitude, he counted on the others and especially the Ghoulettes to give a good welcome.
The figure took one more turn and his laughter echoed like a child. He returned to the center of the pentagram, looking at the eclipse behind the dome, and raised his hands to the sky, as if he could touch the moon. One after another drops of cold rain began to fall quickly, until they almost became a sea on the ministry, the figure smiled and turned towards Aurora, the latter tensed immediately and one shiver after another crossed her back. The air began to get cold and become salty, capable of hurting the nose when inhaling, everyone could feel it, even demons like Sodo so carried away in their element felt cold, the type that you can only find if you get lost in space or in the last circle of the hell.
Aurora took a step back. The band's instrumental was accompanied by a piano and an energetic female voice, the humanoid figure approached Swiss and extended his hand.
"Hello" the figure greeted before a group of lightning fell again, filling the entire room with absolute white, extinguishing the infernal fire and thus ending the ritual.
Everything returned to darkness after such a dramatic birth, Cardinal Copia applauded excitedly and the lights turned on showing a strange lump covered with a thin and opaque black fabric, a hand with shiny black enamelled nails peeking out of it.
The ghouls avoid the gaze of the lump on the ground, somewhat uncomfortable and extremely tired. But Cardinal Copia waited to see the slightest movement to ensure that the ritual had gone perfectly.
The lump trembled with a movement similar to a first breath.
"Okay, everyone out." announcement, the Cardinal "It's time to find out what they have sent us from hell"
The group's rib cage calmed and a huge sigh of relief escaped everyone's lips. Cirrus and Cumulus crossed their fingers, it was no secret that since Aurora's arrival no girl ghoul had arrived. The ghoul area needs more feminine energy.
"Swiss, can you wait outside?" Copia asked him.
Like owl heads, the group looked at Swiss waiting for his response. Even the disinterested Montain had turned to look.
"Yes," he responded with the firmest tone he could fake.
Aurora approached and pulled one of her sleeves, she didn't have to speak, her concern was obvious. The last time it had been Aether who had stayed at the ritual to bring Phantom. Aether never came back.
Swiss approached Aurora's ear in a hug. "I'm not going anywhere," she whispered, trying to calm her agitated essence.
The ghoulette didn't believe him, clearly. But I trust him, because Swiss never lied.
Inside, Swiss's soul wanted to run after them, but his duty prevented him from showing that kind of rebellion.
He turned to the Cardinal, this walk way towards Swiss handing him a shiny new helmet, accompanied by the usual uniform.
Copia crouched in front of the bundle, lifting the fabric a little to discover what it was hiding, squinting in case everything had failed, giving it more suspense. The figure trembled and both Copia and Swiss took a few steps back.
Little by little the figure stood up, showing a wild tangle of short black hair from which two small black horns with white tips protruded, its tail uncoiled from around its leg and waved behind its back, its hands holding the blanket to avoid being naked.
"She's a she," Swiss sighed with the air contained in his lungs and his lower lip slightly fallen.
"Wonderful" Copia pronounced with some pride, the girl raised her head quickly and the Cardinal was met with a gaze of coal-black pupils and eyelids that contrasted with the glaucous blue of his irises, the creature opened its mouth showing its fangs, perhaps to speak but I don't breathe out any words.
Swiss knocked after the Cardinal, a sign that he should start talking before everything became awkward.
"Do you want to get dressed?" Copia asked in a friendly tone. The girl nodded and the Cardinal nudged Swiss lightly to hand the package to the demon.
Her eyes lit up when he saw her clothes and without shame he completely dropped her blanket, amazed by everything he had before her. Swiss immediately looked at the ceiling and prayed to Satan that Copia had done the same. The lack of what they called modesty was normal in new ghouls, small details that lost importance in hell.
"It would be ideal if you could start with the pants," suggested Copia who had turned around.
They heard the fabric slide down her legs, the metal buttons clicked as she pushed them into the buttonholes of her pants, the next time she put her feet on the ground it was with the boots, giving her a few extra inches of height.
She continued dressing, tucking the Victorian-sleeved blouse into her arms and securing the vest to her body. She looked at herself for a few minutes, satisfied with her appearance.
"Already?" Copia asked, who had turned around with a hand over his eyes, he seemed somewhat uncomfortable or self-conscious about the situation.
"Yes" A feminine and friendly voice answered him.
Copia looked through his fingers to make sure before removing his hand from his face and remembering that he had a script to follow and had to start as soon as possible.
"Ahem…" He cleared his throat and began to speak. Swiss stood silently next to he, holding her helmet. "Do you know why you're here?"
"Yes" replied with a timid tone.
"You are here to be part of Ghost, to help me with your talent to bring the message of the Clergy to the whole world, do you understand that?" The young woman nodded "Do you understand that you are not indispensable and can be replaced if you become a stone in my way to fulfill my mission?" That was the part of Copia that he hated the most because he tended to get more attached to his ghouls and ghoulettes than he should, the punishment of returning to hell was too great for small delusions of fame or prominence, that is, he had forgiven Sodo several of those but He remembered that that was the reason why Papa Emeritus III had been taken out of circulation.
"I understand, sir." He pronounced as seriously as the situation warranted. "My only duty is to help you fulfill your duty to the Clergy and bring our Lord's message to the world."
The girl walked forward, face to face with Cardinal Copia. Now came the fun part, Copia took the helmet from Swiss's hands and placed it on the girl's head, thus sealing the 'contract'.
"Well…I…" Copia took a moment to remember the next step. "What's your name?"
"Aesir, sir," she responded quickly, almost over the Cardinal's question.
"Well…Aesir, the third quintessence ghoul" He raised his voice, proclaiming. "Welcome, dear" Copia lost the threatening and vehemently image that she had maintained until then, when she gave Aesir a warm welcome hug.
The girl seemed happy to have that hug but Swiss was sweating cold.
"He's one of your companions, Swiss," Copia said and the demon approached and extended his hand towards her.
"Hello," Aesir took Swiss's hand, shaking it in greeting.
"Swiss" I call Copia.
He sighed, afraid of the next words the Cardinal might say.
"Could you take Aesir with the others?" The ghoul's mouth opened a little in surprise, he was expecting farewell words "The girls will be very happy to see another female face in the pavilion."
Swiss smiled with deep relief and nodded. "Yes, Cardinal." He directed the girl to the door. "After you," he offered chivalrously.
"Oh, Aesir," Copia called. "If there is any problem, don't hesitate to tell me. In cases of emergencies or things like that." The Cardinal said goodbye.
"Bye," she said as Swiss closed the door behind them both.
I hope you like it, I'm new to the fandom and the lore is somewhat complicated, all help would be VERY welcome.

EVERMORE: Chapter One
Eddie Munson Fic - Evermore Directory - Word Count: 7.4K
prev - next
Music blared through Eddie’s ears as he stared out the dingy bus window. “It's for the best, kid.” Wayne's voice echoed through his mind. “You know I care for you, son, but I have no clue how to handle this.” His uncle's sorrowful and concerned expression was drilled into Eddie’s mind.
It's been three months since his return, six since his ‘death’. The world has fallen into autumn, red and brown leaves adorning the trees that pass in a blur. “You'll master your powers and meet others like you. I'll miss you all over again, man.” He could still feel Dustin's tears soaking through his shirt.
Eddie wasn't completely alone on the bus. Aside from the driver, there was a girl, probably around 15, sobbing in the back of the bus, and a boy who looked no or older than 12 or 13 towards the front of the bus, staring out the window in a similar fashion to Eddie. His eyes were dry, but he didn't really look happy to be on this bus ride either.
Eddie was sat in the middle, a good amount of space between both the others. According to his watch, they were about 11 hours into their 13 hour drive. He glances over his shoulder to find the girl passed out against the window with dried tears on her face. He turns to look in front of him to find the boy still staring out the window blankly. He wondered if either of these children went through the same thing he did. Did they also suddenly gain mysterious, super natural powers they can't seem to control? Did they too do something unforgivable to put them here? He sighs and averts his eyes back to the window. The morning sun was peeking over the skyline. Did they always do night pickups? Was it to hide their shipments?
Eddie's leg began to bounce as they neared closer and closer. ‘Welcome to Vermont’ the sign read as they passed. He knew this was the best choice but that couldn't stop his heart from feeling betrayed and bitter.
Over the last three months, he was plagued with night terrors and migraines. It made him detached and irritable beyond belief. He lost count how many times Wayne was unfortunately on the wrong end of those lash outs. Every time, Eddie felt a pang of regret immediately after, but that didn't keep it from happening again and again.
Eddie was never this bad. He'd always been a good kid despite what everyone thought, despite his transcript. Wayne had no clue what to do when Eddie came back a full 180. The last thing he was expecting that day was to find his dead nephew alive and passed out on their front porch.
Wayne genuinely thought he might’ve been hallucinating. All the exhaustion had fleeted, and he rushed Eddie inside to keep him from prying eyes. It was a miracle no one saw him. When he woke, Eddie was too weak to actually explain himself, not that he even had answers to give. Eventually, Wayne just said to hell with it, and simply catered to his kid. Never in all of Eddie's years had he ever known Wayne to take a day off, but for Eddie, he took several. Three days and nights were spent aiding Eddie back to health. He fed him when he was too weak to lift a spoon and held him when he cried from head splitting nightmares. By the morning of day four, Eddie was at least able to make it to the bathroom and back on his own. Wayne made sure to have some food prepared for Eddie in case he got hungry during his night shift and told him to call if anything went wrong. He'd be back in a heartbeat.
As the weeks went by, Eddie became stronger and stronger, more than before. His night terrors didn't stop, but he was at least able to stop screaming and crying himself awake.
It was just two weeks ago that Eddie had done something he couldn't forgive himself for. He hurt Wayne.
He remembers the dream like a real memory. He was taller, bigger, but, somehow, he also felt lighter. He remembers looking down at his hands and seeing his pale fingers were replaced with slender, dark gray appendages. His blunt fingernails were now black sharp claws. His back felt heavy, like someone had strapped 300 pound weights to his shoulder blades. He remembers looking down at his body and being horrified. He's a monster, a real monster. His breathing started to pick up, and he began to feel lightheaded, a dull thumping in his mind. Though he was panicked at the sight of himself, there was this itching in the back of his brain. Something was there. He had felt an urge he'd never felt before. It was dark and malevolent. It scared him. What's happening to me?! He began thrashing about at the stale air around him, an unfamiliar roar coming from within him, rumbling through his chest. It was so boisterous that it rattled his own eardrums.
He was shaken out of his dream by the sound of his uncle's voice, “Christ!” Eddie's eyes rip open, and he immediately realizes his back on the ceiling. As soon as the realization hits, he falls to his bed, bouncing off and onto the floor with a heavy thud. Still in his panicked state, he yells, scrambling to back away from an invisible horror in front of him. Wayne made the mistake of rushing to his aid.
Feeling a grip on his shoulder in the midst of his screaming panic, Eddie swings an arm around, clawing at the perpetrator. “Ah!” His uncle's voice rings out in pain. Eddie's eyes snap up to the source, finding Wayne falling back, clutching his chest. Blood escapes his skin, staining the torn front of his shirt. Eddie stares up at his shocked uncle in terror.
“Wayne!” He yells, full of concern. He reaches out to him but is immediately taken aback when he sees the black, blood soaked claws on his hand. The tips of his fingers were shade gray as if halfway turned into the monster he was in his dream. He screams in horror at the sight of his own hand.
“Son!” Wayne's voice yells. Despite the blood rising down his front, Wayne closes in on Eddie, gripping his shoulders to grab his attention. Eddie's eyes find Wayne's, and he stops screaming. Tears immediately fill his eyes, and his uncle painfully brings him into his chest, holding him tightly. As Wayne rocked side to side, Eddie could feel the warmth of his uncle’s blood smear on his face and neck. Eddie sobbed uncontrollably, struggling to breathe as his heart pounded irregularly in his chest.
Eddie closes his eyes and leans his head against the bus window with a dull thud. He could feel his eyelashes dampen at the memory of that night, an all too familiar anxious drumming behind his ribs. This is for the best. He repeats in his head. He can't allow something like that to happen again, ever.
Before he knows it, the bus is passing a ‘Welcome to Jericho’ sign then not too long after driving through a black metal gate that reads ‘Nevermore Academy’ at the top in a gothic font. The bus pulls to a stop into the driveway.
Wordlessly, the driver exits the bus after opening the doors for the few passengers. Eddie takes in the new location through the window. There's an older, dark skinned man with dreadlocks conversing with the bus driver, giving him a friendly greeting with a smile. Are those horns? The man helps load the few bags that were in the bus's storage compartment into a trailer on the back cart of a small vehicle. They give each other their farewells and the bus driver goes to tend to the bus while the man hops in the car to drive away.
“Hey, mister?” Eddie's gaze switches to the little boy who was now standing in the aisle looking at Eddie. He takes one of his wired earbuds out. “It's time to get off.” The boy says timidly. Eddie nods and stands up in his seat, towering over the kid. The little boy turns to rush off the bus as Eddie puts his backpack on. He glances around the bus to realize it's empty. The girl must've already got off too.
Eddie trudged down the aisle, ducking a little to avoid bumping his head against the roof of the bus. He walks down the stairs, slowly stepping off the final one as he takes in a deep breath. The air here was a bit chilly, crisp, but it filled his lungs graciously. He walks up to stand beside the two younger kids. They stand in a line, in front of a tall platinum blonde woman dressed in a monochrome, light gray outfit. She began to speak a ingenuine speech, no doubt repeated a million times to every new arrival. Eddie tuned her out, just taking in her appearance. Her eyes were a piercing blue shade, and her lips were colored red, highlighting her smile. Her teeth were white and perfectly aligned. She had an unreadable aura around her. She reminded Eddie of a shark. Her sheer existence is just off-putting.
It seemed like her speech was coming to an end as she then gestures to a student beside her. “This will be your mentor, your guide, Mr. Sheridan.” She averts her eyes to look down at the young man standing next to her. He could easily be around 18 years old, most likely a senior or something. His dark brown hair was cut short and styled perfectly. He had blue eyes, defined lips, and a strong jawline. Judging from his looks, his neat appearance, and ironed stiff school uniform, he must be this school's ‘The King’ equivalent. He held a tight, polite smile. “Mr. Sheridan here is a great student who will ensure to take good care of you. You truly are in good hands.” He looks up at the official looking lady with a bashful grin before looking back at the three. He nods to the younger kids then looks over to Eddie with a curious expression. Eddie looks deadpan at the guy and the student turns to address the full group.
“It is an honor to meet you all.” His English accent rings out. Eddie fights the urge to roll his eyes. “I will be your go to informant to guide you and get you accustomed to the ins and outs of our daily life here at Nevermore Academy.” Jeez, this guy sounds like a douche. Eddie thinks, using the second scripted speech to get a good look at the building and grounds from where he stood. “Please, follow me.” Eddie's attention is brought back to the senior as the kids next to him start moving.
“Welcome to Nevermore, dear students!” The lady calls out as they walk passed. Eddie ignores the spiel getting rambled off about how their first days will be laid out, instead looking around at the campus as they walk through. He's enamored by the sights the school offers. It's something straight out of a book. His chest can't help but feel a little giddy.
The campus seems strangely empty for being as large as it is. As if reading his mind, the young boy raises his hand to ask a question, “Excuse me, Mr. Sheridan?”
“Please, my name is Matthew or Matt, for short.”
“Where are all the other students?” The tan boy asks. The student, Matt, gives the shorter kid a kind smile and nods.
“Good question.” He chuckles, “Classes are in session right now. You three arrived kind of mid-day for most of us.” He looks down at his silver, expensive looking watch, causing Eddie to subconsciously do the same with his much less expensive, rubber one. 10:36 AM. Eddie drops his wrist. “Actually, this class period should be releasing some students here in about the next 15 minutes.” He looks back up at the trio with a polite grin. “We're making pretty good time. Our first stop is going to be the administrative office. We'll get your schedules. You'll get fitted for your uniforms, and we'll get your dorm keys.” He turns back around with a motion to continue following him. Eddie trails behind a little, not necessarily in any hurry.
Matt opens up the door to the office, holding it ajar for the trio to enter ahead of him. Oh, what a gentleman. Eddie fawns sarcastically in his head. Matt nods cordially at him as he passes, following behind Eddie as he enters. “Matthew, my boy!” A deep voice booms, naturally demanding Eddie's attention.
“Good morning, Professor Shaw. How are you? I have our new arrivals here.” The blue eyed boy turned to gesture to the new students, all of whom were staring at the horns atop the older man’s head. Man, this guy looks something straight out of DND. His deep skin tone complimented his golden irises. He stood quite a few inches over everyone else and was obviously built sturdy underneath his neutral toned, professional attire.
“I see! Hello, young man.” The older man directs at the little boy. “M'lady.” He nods to the teen girl nicely. He then turns to Eddie. “Mr. Edward Munson. I presume?” Eddie's brows raise, shocked to hear his name come off the older man's tongue. Great, I'm already known here by name.
“Eddie, sir.” He corrects. The man raises his brows slightly and gives a frown of approval, nodding his head.
“Eddie it is. Pleasure to meet you. Pleasure to meet you all.” His attention is brought back to the other two. “I'm Professor Gardnal Shaw. I primarily work here in the admissions office, but I am also the teacher for Intro to More class, a course you all will undoubtedly be attending.” He smiles proudly. He lifts a hand towards the right side of the huge office. “If you would please, follow me.” He leads the way to a portion sectioned off behind a heavy velvet curtain, Matthew second in line. The teenage girl was next then the little boy after her. Eddie towered over the both of them from behind. His eyes are forward, but he catches the young boy in front of him timidly glancing back at him. Eddie offers a ghost of a smile, not wanting to make the kid any more nervous or uncomfortable around him. The boy's eyes widen when Eddie's eyes catch his gaze. An awkward smile sneaks onto his adorable face as he quickly turns to face forward. Eddie holds in a laugh, curiosity overtaking him. Wonder what this kid got himself into.
As the group passes the threshold of the curtain, they are met with an older, glasses wearing woman. She looks like the nicest middle aged lady you’ll ever encounter the way her face lights up at the sight of new students. “Students, this is our lovely seamstress, Ms. Glenda. She will be assisting you with your uniforms.” Mr. Shaw announces with his hands clasped together in front of him.
“New arrivals!” She exclaimed excitedly.
“Good Morning, Ms. Glenda.” Matt adds. She turns to him with a kind grin, her eyes crinkling at their corners.
“Well, good morning to you, Matthew. Very dashing, as always.” She compliments, motherly. The young man blushes, his bitten back smile extenuating his cheekbones. She turns her attention back to the new faces before he can come back with anything. “Now, who do we have here!” She adjusts her little, wire rimmed glasses and squints at the three. “A stunning young lady, an adorable little man, and quite a handsome young fellow, hmm.” The three all have their respective bashful, avoiding glances. “You,” All three lift their heads, but find her attention on Eddie specifically. Eddie's heart picks up slightly, nervous of what she may say next. “You, young man, are a bit older than the normal new arrivals I'm used to seeing.” She lifts her chin to look down the tip of her nose through her falling glasses. Eddie's brows furrowed in confusion as his eyes flit from one face to another, awkwardly glancing at each person in the room. Before he can open his mouth to say anything, Mr. Shaw buts in to take over.
“Sir Eddie here is the first of many to come. Our academy is expanding the age range of our admissions to include those who may have found changes later in life.” The man eloquently clarifies, giving Eddie a comforting grin. Great, ‘first of many’. Even amongst ‘outcasts’, I'm still an outcast.
“Ah, I see. Well, that's wonderful news.” The older lady says, voice full of warmth and welcome. She grins softly. “Well, let's get you all fitted! You've got a lot more to do today!” She smiles widely before pulling each new student in one by one to get them situated with uniforms.
The next two hours were spent in the office, getting uniforms, schedules, and supplies. Following the admin office, Matt guided them around campus, giving them a tour of the common yard, the libraries, showing them different wings for the different studies offered before finally leading them to the massive cafeteria.
The café had two levels. The main floor held a buffet spread of rotating foods, vending machines, and several rows of tables. The second floor was a balcony that had additional seating overlooking the main floor. On the far side of the cafeteria was floor to ceiling windows, presenting a mystical view of the Vermont countryside. “Alright, I think this is a perfect time as any to take a break and get some lunch.” Matt announced, looking down at his watch to see the time as 12:45 PM. “Take an hour to relax and eat. I'll be back to collect you three around 1:45, so we can head to the dorms for you all to get settled in. For now, help yourselves to whatever you’d like.” The uniformed guide clasps his hands together, gives them a nod, and walks away.
The two kids glance at each other then at Eddie. The teenage girl walks off first. The little boy glances back to Eddie after watching the girl walk away. He looks like he wants to say something, which Eddie raises a brow to, but ultimately, he scurries away.
Eddie sighs and follows suit, assembling himself a plate of food that appears too appetizing to be a school lunch. He spots an empty seat next to the massive windows on the main floor. He’s one of the only few not wearing a uniform, so on top of his obvious age difference, his attire makes him stand out like a sore thumb. This causes him to catch a couple curious glances from some passing students, nothing he isn’t already used to.
As he walks to the empty table, he gets a pretty decent idea of different cliques. Even in this world, high schoolers aren't too different. On top of grouping up by sport or ‘status’, one of the obvious differences is that some are separated by species.
Eddie had to use everything in him not to stare at some of the more obvious ones, some with unnaturally colored skin tones, some with horns, others with tusks for canines. It was incredible to see in person something he’d only ever imagined or seen in movies and books. Man, what the guys would say about this. He shakes his head, looking down with a small chuckle. He successfully makes it to the targeted seat without issue. He drops his bag to the floor beneath him and starts eating, “Mmmm.” Holy shit. The food here is just as good as it looks. He hums to himself. After that first bite, suddenly all the hunger his emotions were hiding came to the surface. His stomach growled, begging for more. He scarfs down half his plate before something out the corner of his eye catches his attention.
Outside, several feet down in somewhat of a courtyard he’d had yet to tour, there was a group of students. Are those real? The thing that caught his eyes was the glimmering of metal. The afternoon sun reflecting off steel weapons and shields. Eddie drops his hands to the table to watch the commotion going on outside. There were stairs that led off the slide of the cliff that held the main school building. There were two students walking down them with trays of food. On their uniform jackets were added emblems that took up most of the space on their back panels. It was difficult to get a clear view of the royal purple embroidery from this far, but from what Eddie could tell, it looked like a sword with wings where the cross guard should be.
Eddie’s brows draw closer together as he squints to try and get a better look at the group below. All of the ones sparring had taken their jackets off. The others that were seated and eating were too small for Eddie to see their jackets any clearer, but he does notice one person in particular.
Atop a boulder on the edge of the courtyard stood an observer dressed in the same purple and black striped uniform jacket and black pants. This observer had a golden sash hanging across their torso, fastened together at the hip, something only seen on royal families. They seemed to be yelling out orders or instructions ever so often. Standing next to the boulder was another onlooker.
This person had short brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and a hard gaze. Their white button down shirt was tucked into their black uniform pants. Even from this distance, Eddie could see the white long sleeves were struggling to contain their crossed, muscular arms. Jesus, who are these people? Eddie looks down in shock. Eddie’s eyes are back on the golden sash student as they hop down from their high point to go up to the two sparrers.
Taking one of the swords as they talk, they ready themselves for what seems to be a demonstration. Eddie watches as they start swinging the sword around, immediately catching the attention of all the other students around. They can be seen talking as they move so fiercely. Each swing of the sword is incredibly controlled and impactful. The fight is intense, yet the observer is basically floating, light on their feet, still talking. Everything done was talked through and masterfully executed. You definitely had to be their leader.
Without much difficulty, you were able to disarm your opponent, turning to the one you assumed the place of with a nod, handing them back their sword. Some of the students watching even clapped. Eddie looked on in disbelief at the scene that just unfolded. Wow. He looks down at his half empty plate. Those look like real heroes.
The rest of his lunch was spent taking bites of his food as he looked out the window, utterly intrigued. A cough of someone clearing their throat brings Eddie out of his trance. He whips his head around to see Matthew the Guide looking down at him. “Sorry to interrupt, but it’s time I take you to your dorm for you to become acquainted with your new roommate.” He says with a small, kind, and a little awkward smile. Eddie raises his brow and nods.
“Whatever you say,” Eddie stands, bringing his backpack up with him. He stands an inch or so above Matt. He cocks his head to the side and gives him a sarcastic grin. “Dashing young fellow.” Eddie says, mimicking Matt's English accent. Matt's small smile drops a bit. He sighs, a small glare squinting his eyes.
“We’ll be waiting for you over by the doors.” He turns and strides away. Eddie huffs out a puff of air. He picks up the remnants of his lunch and drops it off at a trash can on his way to where Henry and the other two new kids stand. “Alright, now that we’re all here.” He smiles sarcastically at Eddie before turning to the other two with a more genuine smile. “Let’s head to the dorms.”
Matt leads the three to the different student housing areas. They dropped off the teenage girl to her building, Matt handing her off to that building’s dorm manager. Next was the young boy Eddie would come to know as Anthony. He was dropped off at his door as he, Eddie, and Matthew all stayed in the same building. Once he disappeared behind the door with his new roommate, Matt and Eddie were left alone. “Come on.” Matt says, walking away without sparing another glance at Eddie. Eddie’s lip turns up in a grimace.
“Hey, man. Careful with the attitude.” He bites back, catching up with Matthew. He scoffs.
“Me? You’re the one with an attitude, young fellow.” Matt gives Eddie a hard look. Eddie is stubborn with his defiance.
“Whatever, man.” Eddie scoffs and looks away.
“Listen, I understand if you are not necessarily happy to be here, but you don’t need to be rude.” Eddie’s brows raise in disbelief.
“I’m not being rude, and don’t act like you know anything about me. You’re the one who gave me a weird look the second I get here.” Eddie shoots back. Matt sighs.
“Like Shaw said, we don’t usually get new students over the age of 16, so I was just a bit caught off guard. I admit it may have not been very welcoming, but I don’t think that should get me on your bad side before we’ve even gotten to know each other.” Matt goes on.
Eddie glances over at the guide through his peripheral. They enter the empty elevator, heading up. Matt stares forward with his jaw clenched, obviously annoyed that he has to be in an enclosed space with Eddie. There’s a few seconds of silence after the doors close before Eddie sighs.
“Look, man.” Eddie starts. “I’m sorry. These past few months have really turned my world… upside down.” Eddie frowns with a thousand yard stare. Henry spares Eddie a glance over his shoulder. Eddie rolls his shoulders back, bringing himself back to reality. “I’m used to being Eddie ‘The Freak’. Ironically, even here I’m a freak among ‘freaks’.” The way Matt doesn’t even bat an eye at being called a freak is a bit strange for Eddie. “I guess, I just came in swingin’, preemptively judging you too early.” Eddie tilts his head. “You kind of remind me of this one guy, ‘The King’ of Hawkins. He was a pretty big asshole to ‘freaks’." Matthew nods understandingly. “But, what do you know, he turned out alright when I met him again later.” Eddie sighs, “Sorry.”
“You know, you should realize something,” Eddie looks up, eyes on the back of Matt's head as he stares forward. “Nevermore is a school just like every other, but most people here are coming from a place in your shoes. Sometimes people here forget, but outside these walls, beyond that gate, we’re all just freaks, monsters,... evil to the rest of the world.” Matt looks down the bridge of his proud nose with a familiar distant stare. The elevator doors open and Matthew walks out without missing a beat.
They pass a few doors before Matt speaks up again. “I am your ‘mentor’,” He halts in front of a door, turning to Eddie, “I am not your enemy.” He looks Eddie in the eyes with determination, trying to get through to him. “You should know, even if we are not meant to be ‘friends’, I am still an ally. If you need help with anything, you can reach out to me.” Eddie holds Matt's gaze, unsure of what to say next. He’s never gotten an actual warm welcome before. Matt's lips form a thin line as he gives Eddie a tight smile before nodding once. He lifts a hand to knock on the door they are outside of.
There's stumbling and a commotion on the other side of the door. Eddie’s brows crease in suspicion at the noises, but Matt just sighs and rolls his eyes. The door swings open revealing a young, dark skinned boy with wide, shocked eyes. He was huffing like he just ran a marathon, undoubtedly from stumbling over stuff in the room to get to the door. “Junior.” Matt says in a warning tone through gritted teeth and an annoyed smile. Junior avoids Matt's eyes by awkwardly staring at anything on the floor.
Eddie glances between Matt and the kid, Junior. Matt turns to Eddie, “Eddie, meet Junior,” He turns to gesture to the kid. “Your new roommate.” Matt raises a threatening brow at Junior. “Junior, meet Eddie.”
“H-Hi,” The kid’s voice cracks awkwardly, “Come- Come on in.” Junior turns to walk away from the door, going further into the room. Eddie glances one last time at Matt. Matt looks over to Eddie with a sigh and raises his brows.
“Good luck.” He mutters as he walks away. Before Eddie can follow up with Matt's concerning final words, Junior starts rambling.
“Here, over here is your bed, obviously as it’s the empty one, and over here is mine, obviously. Um, I moved some things around, but you’re more than welcome to move anything around how you’d like, I mean, as long as, you know, you leave my side of things alone, unless you want this side, we- we can figure something out that works for both of us. Over there,” he turns to point at a door next to the one Eddie just entered through. “That- That’s the bathroom. It’s pretty nice, we have a tub, shower, sink, toilet, everything needed, and, uh,” Junior keeps rambling as Eddie slowly walks through the space.
It’s shockingly spacious. Once he passes the entryway, the place expands into a large, square room. This is nothing Eddie expected for a dorm. The full-sized beds are on opposite sides of the room with enough respective furniture for two people. Each side has its own bed, dresser, desk with a lamp and chair. Junior has a foldable, wooden divider next to his bed, blocking his bed from Eddie’s. On either side of the room were two archways leading into an extra individual area. Without being too nosy, Eddie could see that Junior’s side has a plant and a bookshelf. His side seemed a bit barren.
Eddie back glances at Junior’s side, finding it an odd mixture of neat and messy. The younger’s clothes were filling a dirty laundry hamper to the brim, but there was not a trace of anything on his floor. His mirror was squeaky clean, but his dresser had different, mismatched knickknacks littered over the top. His desk had papers spewed all over with multiple open books, but the chair was tucked in and pens, markers, and pencils were organized by color and size in a storage container. His bed wasn’t made, but he had shiny shoes neatly lined under the bed frame.
The rambling kid himself was set up in a similar fashion, his appearance is pristine, his white shirt tucked into ironed pants, shoes shined, necktie tightened and perfectly aligned, but man, the kid would not take a breath. “It’s nice to meet you.” Eddie interrupts whatever he was on about. Junior comes to a complete stop, turning to Eddie with raised brows.
“Sorry, I forgot my manners.” He shoots out a hand with his chin lifted high, back straight as a board in perfect posture. “Junior Shaw. It’s a pleasure to meet you, mister.” Eddie slowly reaches out to shake Junior’s hand. He raises a brow with a small smile.
“Shaw?” They shake hands for a bit too long due to Junior not knowing when to let go.
“Yeah… He’s my dad.” Junior tilts his chin down to hide his face. This is the first time Eddie notices the small horns growing atop his head, just barely peeking out in his thick dark hair. Eddie nods as his smile grows. “Oh.” Junior drops his hand. “Sorry.” The awkwardness of the kid makes Eddie’s heart swell. It’s oddly comforting. “Uh…” Junior trails, seemingly trying to fill the silence but not knowing what to say.
Eddie walks off, heading over to his side of the room. His eyes immediately land on the bed, seeing his new uniforms and his old suitcase. That was fast. He runs his fingers gently across the striped fabric. “Oh!” Junior says abruptly, grabbing Eddie’s attention. He turns to see Junior running to his dresser, picking something up, and turning to rush up to give it to Eddie. “Here.” He hands Eddie a small welcoming gift. It was a gift basket with some pens, pencils, notebooks, and other miscellaneous school supplies. On top of it all was a purple card with gold writing on it. ‘Welcome, Edward!’ it read, causing Eddie to bite back a small smile. “I know,” He raises a brow looking up from the basket to Junior. “It’s kind of cheesy, but my dad said giving you a welcome gift would make you feel more… welcome… yeah.” He says. Eddie gives him a kind smile.
“Thanks, kid.”
“Welcome.” He says before walking away to go to his desk and sit in the wooden chair. Eddie takes a seat on his bed, next to his uniforms, and places the welcome gift beside him on top of the neatly folded clothes. “So, uh…” Junior starts, “You’re kind of old…er… older. Older than the usual new students.” Eddie chuckles and nods.
“Yeah, so I’ve heard.”
“Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude. I’m just curious, is all. Sorry.”
“No worries. I’ve been getting it all day.” He tilts his head. “You know I’m not old. I’m only 19, going to be 20 this year.” Junior nods without looking up at him, instead focusing his eyes on the papers on his desk.
“That’s cool. My dad told me we’re taking in more students, probably opening up a new department or something like that. So, how’d you end up here?” Junior asks absentmindedly. The question takes Eddie off guard a little. What is he supposed to say? He turned into a monster and attacked his uncle after dying in battle in an alternate dimension. Would that make sense even here? Junior takes Eddie’s elongated silence as a sign. “Hey, don’t worry about it. You don’t have to tell. Told you, I’m just curious, probably too much for my own good.”
“I… acquired some new… powers?” Eddie thinks of how to word an explanation without going too in depth. “So, I got sent here to try and help… control them.”
“Oh, an Acquirer. That makes sense.” Eddie tilts his head in intrigue at the new title, but before Eddie can ask for clarification, Junior bombards him with some questions. “Have you looked at any of your classes yet, seen any clubs, you know, if you’re into that? Were you in any clubs or sports back when you were in your old school?”
“No,” he chuckles, “No sports. I’m not a sports guy.” Junior nods. “But I did have a club I was leading, called Hellfire.” Junior turns in his chair to look at Eddie with a curious look.
“Hellfire? What was it about?” Eddie’s eyes light up a bit, now that’s a question he loved to answer.
“Well, it was a mystical gathering of the most daring and creative minds.” Eddie began with a smirk and squinted eyes, enjoying the familiar innocent curiosity on the young boy’s face. “Creatures of all kinds, from all over would gather to travel together and fight great battles, solve fantastical mysteries, and establish their title as heroes.” Eddie says in a theatrical tone, drawing Junior’s interest. Eddie chuckles, shaking his head and looking down. “It was a club where I would host DND campaigns after school.” He smiled, reminiscing. Junior raises his brows and nods.
“Oh, I’ve heard about DND! Sounds a lot like Slayers, just minus the tabletop portion.” Eddie lifts his head to the smiling boy.
“Slayers, huh?’ Junior nods.
“Yeah, Dungeon Slayers Club, officially, but we just call it Slayers for short. It was kind of inspired by DND, but you know, we’re the actual ‘creatures’.” Junior explains. “It takes all the fun of DND and brings it into real life. We really train and fight and go on quests and everything. It’s really fun.” He beams.
“Is that the club with the emblems on their backs, the group of students out in that courtyard during lunch?” Junior’s brows raise.
“Yeah. I wasn’t there during lunch today. Usually, the lunch gatherings are just us hanging out during our break. The real club takes place after school.” Junior says matter-of-factly. “First official meetup of the season is tomorrow.” Eddie nods.
“Think I can come and check it out?” Junior's brows raise again, and his eyes go wide.
“Oh, uh, I don’t know. I mean, we’re always welcoming to new people, at least they were with me. I was the last person who joined, but, uh we’re not really the most popular group.” He rambles. “Slayers doesn’t really have the best reputation. It’s kind of…infamous? Most of the other students see us as a paranoid bunch of…well, losers, like end of the world preppers or stuck in the past people or whatever. I don’t know if you’d want to start yourself out by associating yourself with us. You- You may want to check out something else like the fencing team or- or something” He says bouncing his gaze around in one of his awkward antics.
“No,” Eddie stops him, “I want to check it out.” He says firmly. Junior, though a bit shocked, becomes excited.
“Oh Okay, well, tomorrow then, I can bring you with me to the club during lunch so you can meet some of the members and maybe we can get you to talk to the leader. They’re awesome.” Junior begins with a glint in his eye. “They’ve been heading Slayers for, like, the last four years, been in the club for even longer. They’re so cool, really.” He says seriously, nodding his head. “If the world ever did come to an end. They’re definitely someone you’d want on your side. They’re, like, really amazing. They can out fight and out smart anybody, I swear.” He nods in approval. Eddie smiles. I wonder if this is how they talk about me. I hope so. Junior turns back to the homework on his desk, “They’re a great leader. You’d like them, 100%.” He nods again.
Eddie and Junior sit in a comfortable silence, the loudest noise coming from Junior’s pencil against paper. Eddie stands after a minute or two and begins unpacking his things, organizing his half how he wants. “Do you usually study in silence, or is it just cause I’m here?” Eddie asks as he closes his last drawer and turns to look at the back of Junior.
“No, I usually work this way. Sorry if that’s weird, but- but don’t worry about me. If you want to play music or watch something, don’t worry about me.” He lifts a hand to wave dismissively. Eddie nods and walks away from the dresser.
“You know, I think I’m going to do a little exploring.” Eddie announces as he heads to the door. Junior lifts his head.
“Oh, do you want me to come with? I could help show you around.” He offers, but Eddie shakes his head with a wave of his hand.
“No, just continue with your work. I’ll be fine. I’m just gonna wonder and get familiar.” Eddie says with a small smile. “Be back later, kid.” He turns to leave without another word.
As soon as Eddie is outside of the dorm building, he decides to just pick a direction and start walking. He walks around the campus, again getting some looks from passing students as he’s the only one out of uniform. He leisurely wanders around, eventually stopping in an outdoor hallway that surrounds a small courtyard in the middle of one of the buildings. As he stands there, he stares at a familiar stranger’s face.
You were sitting at the end of a wooden bench at one of the picnic tables. In front of you, sat on top of the table was a boy with ivory skin and brown, fluffy, curly hair. He was slim but obviously muscular and had a killer smile that you couldn't help but return. Sat beside you was the same onlooker he saw earlier, the one who stood beside the boulder at lunch.
She seemed a bit more relaxed and was leaning on her elbows that were rested on the table in front of her. Her brown waves were loose from their little ponytail and now let down, cropped at her shoulders. She was also looking up at the boy who was talking, quite animated, about something Eddie couldn't quite hear.
Though you didn't know of his existence and he had never spoken a word to you, Eddie couldn’t help but admire your smile. It was easy to get distracted by you. Aside from being a total warrior badass, you were simply gorgeous. The shine in your eyes, the way the world around you brightens with your smile, the curves of your nose, the creases of your face as it contorts with laughter. This is the leader of the ‘infamous' ‘loser’ club? It was confusing. Eddie couldn't comprehend how anyone could not like whatever had your stamp of approval. You and your personality screamed positively infectious and contagious. It was plain to see. Even from a distance, Junior’s fanboying over you made total sense.
Eddie stood in the shadows of the hall just watching you and your interactions with your friends. He couldn't help but feel a bit envious. Abruptly he winces, flinching at the all too familiar feeling in his brain.
The sharp migraines he'd gotten ever since waking up in that place have started to dull, feeling more akin to an unreachable itch or a fuzzy static. He didn't know if the pain was weaker or if he was just building a tolerance. Eddie sighs, opening his eyes to see you and your friends standing and collecting your things. Before any of you can notice his presence, he takes his leave, disappearing out of the courtyard corridors and closing in on a new found back exit off campus.
Eddie walks along the road that leads up to the campus before he makes his way into the wooded area that lines the pavement. Once he feels he's gone far enough, the buzzing itch returns. He groans, annoyed at the feeling.
He knows he's alone out here, but he can't help himself from looking around him to see if anyone is watching. Once he decides the coast is clear, he kneels down, closes his eyes, and takes a few deep breaths, slowing his heart rate. He reaches a hand out and rests it on the massive trunk of the fallen tree he'd stopped in front of. He takes deep breaths during the entire exchange, feeling the wood beneath his fingers shift.
The feeling of a numb rush floods his veins as the headache dissipates. He knows that means he's done right. He opens his eyes, seeing the newly opened glowing gate. Again, he looks around him before looking back at the portal. Every time he opens a new door between worlds, that area in the back of his brain tells him he's done something right, but his heart still makes him feel like a kid with his hand in the cookie jar, constantly scared he's going to get caught doing something he's not supposed to.
One of these new found powers of his was the ability to open passages from this world to the other. At first, it felt wrong. There were so many bad memories there, but he'd always felt compelled to open these doors. Now, it's more so akin to a guilty pleasure, something he knows he shouldn't enjoy, but he can't resist. It calls to him. Plus if Vecna is dead, what is so wrong about it?

may I ask for Swiss just pampering the hell out of Delia? fluff or smut your choice, just him loving on her hardcore :3
ty ty you're the best <3
Oh hell yeah! Swiss absolutely loves pampering his favorite human! I wrote this after starting shark week and decided to have Swiss take good care of Delia when her time of the month comes up.
Content: Period blood, Swiss being sweet for his human and also being a little weirdo about blood, lots of suggestive material but no sex, mentions of cock and pussy, quintessence use as a pain reliever, Swiss is the ultimate caretaker
Word Count: 1037
Delia frowned in her sleep, feeling that all-too-familiar pain growing by the second from below. It was that damn time of the month.
“Fuck,” she muttered, reaching out blindly to touch Swiss. She immediately opened her eyes when she didn’t feel him.
“Swiss?” She called out, looking around for him in the dark room. She heard running water from the bathroom and saw light coming out from under the door. She felt a moment of panic set in when she didn’t see her kits in the room, but she quickly remembered they were still being taken care of by Cumulus for the night.
Delia wanted to investigate, but upon sitting up, she groaned in pain when an intense cramp took over. Oh, it was going to be a bad period. Her cramps haven’t been this bad in such a long time.
The sound of the water running stopped and the door opened. Delia looked up to see Swiss standing there. He looked happy to see her awake, but his smile disappeared when he saw the pained look on her face.
“Good morning, love….I…I’m having bad cramps,” she murmured, hugging herself while hunched over. She was certain she made a mess in the bed, but she didn’t really care. She could easily wash the sheets later.
“Oh sweetheart, I’m sorry you’re hurting. I could smell your period coming on a few minutes ago and wanted to run you a nice bath,” Swiss said, walking over to sit next to her.
“That’s so sweet of you to do, Swiss. Thank you,” Delia cooed, pulling him into a hug and pecking him on the cheek. The ghoul purred, nuzzling her cheek while rubbing her lower belly, his quintessence already lessening the pain of the cramps.
“You know I’ll always make it better, sweetheart. Just tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you,” he whispered in her ear. Delia smiled, wanting nothing more than to be taken care of by her ghoul.
“Is the bath ready?” She asked, looking over at the bathroom door. An enticing aroma emanated from the bathroom, making her all the more ready for a relaxing bath.
“It sure is, sweetheart. Can you walk or should I carry you?” Swiss asked.
“Carry me please?”
“Of course.”
Swiss picked her up bridal style with ease. He kissed her forehead before carrying her over to the bathroom and Delia could only smile as she rested her head on his chest. She could recall overhearing the ghoulettes and some ghouls talking about how Swiss was the best at taking care of them when their periods hit. Ever since being with him, he was always attentive whenever her time of the month came around and he treated her amazingly.
“Here we are. I used up the last of the lavender bath bombs for you,” Swiss chimed, bringing her to the edge of the bath where a black towel was already put down.
“Perfect,” Delia sighed softly as he sat her down on the towel.
She looked down and grimaced when she saw the blood coating her legs. She pulled up her gown to see the extent of the damage. Her thighs were an absolute mess. Cleaning that up would be easy, but she had a ghoul who enjoyed the taste of her blood with her. A sigh escaped her lips as she turned her attention back to Swiss who was eyeing her bloody thighs hungrily.
“You hungry, love?” She asked, smirking when his stomach growled.
“I could go for a little snack, but let’s get you nice and relaxed first,” Swiss replied, reaching forward and giving her right thigh a squeeze. He brushed his thumb along the blood and brought it to his lips, licking it clean with a low moan. Delia’s cheeks grew warm as she thought of one of her favorite ways to relieve her cramps, but that would be later.
“You gonna join me in the bath?” She asked, her attention back to the steamy bath.
“If that’s what you want, then I’ll join you,” Swiss crowed, stepping back and taking his gray sweatpants off. Delia couldn’t help but stare and the ghoul chuckled as he went over to the bath and got in. A soft hiss filled the air before Swiss relaxed into the bath. He opened his mouth, breathing a heart shaped cloud of smoke as he beckoned her with a single claw.
“The water’s perfect, sweetheart,” he purred.
Delia felt the pull of his quintessence reaching out to her and she smiled drunkenly as she took her gown off, tossing it to the side. She looked down at the blood between her legs and felt a faint cramp creeping up. That would certainly be fixed soon enough.
“Here I come,” she said while carefully stepping into the bath.
It was incredibly hot, but she quickly adjusted as she sat down between Swiss’s legs. She closed her eyes, letting the heat cool her while sitting with her back pressed against Swiss’s warm back. The ghoul purred, wrapping his arms and his tail around her middle and filling her body with his calming quintessence.
“How’s that feel, sweetheart?” He asked, caressing her stomach and slowly going lower. His cock was pressed against her backside, not hard yet, but it was only a matter of time before he was using it to relieve her pain.
“Amazing, Swiss. Thank you,” Delia murmured, turning her head to kiss him. He eagerly kissed her back, his purrs rumbling through his chest. His hands trailed down to her thighs, rubbing at them and clearing the blood away.
Delia pulled away from the kiss to take a breath, her head dizzy. Her cramps were long forgotten now.
“You need anything, Delia?” Swiss asked, nuzzling her cheek.
Delia smiled, looking down and seeing how far his fingers were up her less bloodied thighs. There was so much she wanted to do to relieve her cramps and Swiss was her cure.
“Clean me up and then you can fuck these cramps away soon,” Delia purred, putting her hand over his and pushing it closer to her sore pussy.
“Mmm, sounds like a plan, sweetheart,” Swiss chuckled darkly, growing hard beneath her.

I wrote a story.. You can read it here
It’s very hot right now so there might be a few mistakes but my brain is melting so please forgive me, the story is going to be possibly poly ghouls x ghoulette reader but her favourite is Mountain.
Possible autistic reader
Summery: Reader has been nicknamed as ‘Sister Primrose’ to avoid being called Sister Primo which would raise suspicion and put her life at risk after Primo, Secondo, Chain, River and Matron Elizabeth had spent 19 years keeping her safe and hidden from the Clergy and Sister Imperator.

The Manager (Ghost Fic) Chapter 2
Summary: The Ministry announces an outsider coming to be part of the congregation to help with the Ghost project as a tour manager; little did the Ghoul know; she is nothing like they pictured her or how she'd affect them all.
Support My Work!
Chapter 1
The mass hall was flooded with Siblings of the Ministry. The large space was abuzz with a conversation among them and for the first time in a while, Ari felt overwhelmed. Despite her professionalism with Copia the night before she would be lying if she said that she was feeling the pressure. She wouldn't be directly involved with the Siblings, of course. Her main focus was the Ghost Project and the ghouls; Papa and the tour. But seeing just how large the Ministry was was kind of daunting.
She was afterall, an outsider among these people and even when she had confidence in her ability to handle her work tasks it was another thing entirely when it came to the personal touch with the Ministry; she was not naive enough to think everybody would be welcoming to her. There would be speculations, there would be rumors, and there would mostly likely be bets to see how long she'd last working with the Ghouls. They were, from what she had heard previously; a bit of a handful.
Braydon had realized this was an odd job; he'd called it from the beginning; her husband was always good with his intuition, after all. But Ari was not a quitter and she had faith in her abilities; the problem was, would the Ghouls take to her? She would not work this job unless they were on the same page - if they accepted her or not, her morality would certainly not permit her. She had high hopes for her future here.
As she walked to the coffee dispensery for her morning brew she was unaware of the eyes watching her from the back of the room. She was oblivious to them - too lost in her own thoughts. She didn't even notice when a figure came up behind her; not until she felt something tugging on her hair. Swirling around she was well prepared to reprimade whoever was playing with her hair only for her to look down to find a petite tiny creature standing in front of her.
It was a ghoul. A ghoulette by the feminine shape but she was just so small. Much smaller then even the shortest of the male ghouls Ari had seen the night before. But she was cute. Dressed in the usual black attire and goggled helmet that was of Copia's Era the ghoulette looked so...pocket sized and adorable despite knowing she was not human.
The ghoulette let out a little giggle and clasped her hands in front of her as she rocked forward; reminding Ari of a little girl.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to startle you! I was just so masmerized by your hair, it's so pretty! Like silk. I just had to know what it felt like!" the ghoulette chirped flashing Ari a fanged smile.
"Oh!" Ari laughed a bit as she relaxed. "That's alright! I just wasn't expecting it! Thank you..." she trailed off when she realized she hadn't known the other's name.
"I'm Aurora." the ghoulette sidled up to her and poured herself a cup of orange juice. "And you must be Mrs. Whitmore! Papa had mentioned you this morning! I was very excited to meet you, you know!" Aurora said
"Well, that's very kind of you, Aurora!" Ari smiled and turned back to the station to pour some creamer into her cup of coffee. "And please, call me Ari." she added automatically.
"Ari? Is that short for something?" Aurora asked cocking her head.
"Yes, actually. It's short for Ariel. But I prefer Ari, it's more personal." and because she hated it when her husband called her Ariel. But Aurora didn't need to know that tidbit.
"Oh, that's lovely!" Aurora gushed on a dreamy sigh before turning once the women had their drinks ready. "Come on! You must go meet the others! We didn't get proper introductions before!" Aurora grabbed Ari's hand and rushed her down the aisles of long table benches all the way to the back where a group of ghouls sat.
"Good morning everybody! Have you met Ari yet?" Aurora took her place between two other female Ghouls
"Not officially." one of the other's grumbled; still too sleepy it seemed to be much of a conversationalist.
"Yes, we didn't really have much time for proper introductions since it was getting late." Ari replied looking around at the table feeling rather awkward being the only one standing.
"Oh shoot! I was supposed to come to wake you for breakfast, I'm so sorry Ari. I-" The soft-spoken ghoul from the night before began rising from his seat.
"Oh don't worry about it! I found my way around easily enough." Ari laughed waving at him as if to say it was okay while she stood sipping at her coffee.
"You gonna sit down or what?" the grumpy ghoul spoke up cocking his head to glare at her with firey orange eyes through the goggles of his mask.
"Oh I-" Ari bit her lip nervously
"Oh come on! We don't bite, we promise." one of the other ghouls with a megawatt smile spoke up as he scooted to the side making room for her to sit down.
She did so carefully and wrapped her hands around her cup of coffee as she glanced at all the other ghouls. "So, um, where do we start?" she asked
"Ah, introductions!" Aurora clapped before motioning to the Ghouls on her side of the table.
"This is Cumulus, she's our air ghoul," she motioned to a short woman with curves that Ari was instantly jealous of before moving her hand to her other side. "And this is Cirrus our other air ghoul, beside her on her other side is Mountain - he's the drummer and Earth ghoul." Aurora pipped up.
Cumulus smiled brightly and reached out to touch Ari's arm in a gesture of warmth.
"We're so glad you're here, I can already tell you'll be so much better than all the others." she chuckled.
"Those troublemakers on either side are Swiss and Dewdrop. Swiss is a Multi -ghoul and Dewdrop is our Fire Ghoul!" Cirrus piped up pointing to each of the ghouls bracketing Ari in.
"And lastly this is Phantom, he and Aurora were summoned at the same time; kind of a package deal. He's our new Quintessence ghoul. Oh and sweet Rain baby over there! Can't forget about him; he's our Water Ghoul!" Cirrus motioned to the last two of the group and Ari gave each a smile of hello.
"Wow, there are a lot of you." Ari finally responded.
"Trust me, we aren't as bad as people think we are!" Phantom smiled over at the woman who nodded thoughtfully.
"Oh, I'll be the judge of that." her blue eyes twinkled with mirth.
"So, Ari. Tell us, how'd you stumble upon Papa?" Cumulus asked propping her elbows on the table and leaning over to listen intently.
"Ah, funny story actually. You see, I come from a management background. I was originally a secretary for a law firm but the sort of environment as you can imagine gets toxic pretty quickly. I had been searching online for awhile before I stumbled upon Copia's ad for hire. Got in contact with him and well, he seemed to like what he was hearing so. Here I am!" she lifted up her hands
"What does the mister think of your new job?" Cirrus tapped the table as her gaze fell onto the woman's hand. "Presuming there is a mister?"
Ari subconsciously grabbed her ring; twisting it around her finger and her smile was tight but the ghouls watching her could tell there was more behind the story then her words.
"Yeah, my husband Braydon um...he's a detective for the local police. His reaction to this job was well...concerned I suppose. It's not every day your wife gets a job at a Satanic church." she chuckled a bit despite her awkwardness.
"I mean, I don't blame him. Maybe he'll warm up to the idea once he knows you're doing good here." Rain offered a smile of encouragement and Ari just nodded but her eyes said a different thing.
"Yeah, maybe."
The table got silent aftward and Ari just stared down at her cup of coffee lost in thought. The truth behind her relationship with her husband was more complicated than she wanted to let on. They'd been married for the last 5 years but in the 2 years, their relationship was becoming strained. It hadn't always been like that, the first 2 years had been amazing; all through the honeymoon phase and all. But then Ari had gotten a higher paying position at her law firm and Braydon had been appointed as a detective within months of each other and that meant stressful days at work and a shit ton of piled work to do - you could imagine they didn't often see each other.
Ari suspected Braydon may be cheating on her but she never had proof. But when they worked long hours and barely got to see each other it put a strain on the relationship. It was hard and Braydon wasn't too thrilled at this new prospect of the job she took on but she needed this.
A hand softly gripped her arm and the woman lifted her gaze to meet Phantom's across the table, there was a sheen of concern in her gaze through the goggles of his mask as he gave her a small smile.
"You okay?"
Quintessence ghoul, right. He probably sensed something off about her emotions. Ari plastered a smile on her face and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking of where to start with work." she laughed a bit but it was hollow as she pulled her arm from his grasp and rose from the table with her now empty cup.
"Thank you, guys, for welcoming me this morning, but I do have to go sort out all those folders left by the previous managers. If you need anything don't hesitate to come by, I'll be in Copia's office. I have a feeling I may need some of his input." she said
"Oh okay..."
"Hey don't be a stranger okay?" Swiss added giving her a little wave.
"Likewise." Ari smiled before turning and heading for the doors, tossing her disposable coffee cup into the trash on her way.
She managed to find her way back to her room and once inside she pressed against the door and let out a sigh before shaking off her gloom and went to grab the folders and carrier case before leaving to head to Copia's office.
When she arrived she knocked, patiently waiting for a reply before turning the knob and walked inside with a warm smile on her face when she saw the man hunched over a pile of paperwork he was grumbling at. As she entered Copia lifted his head to look at her and his grumpy expression softened a bit.
"Ah, Ari. I hope you slept well, were the quarters to your liking?" he asked.
"They were, thank you!" she assured him before waving the folders in front of her. "I just met the ghouls in the breakfast hall. They are an interesting bunch but I'm sure we'll work together just fine. Would you mind if I borrow your company for a bit with these? I may have some questions."
"Si si! Please make yourself comfortable. I could use the break from this buffoonery." the man chuckled as he leaned back in his chair with a sigh.
Ari smiled sympathetically knowing full well how frustrating paperwork could be when you weren't one who liked to do that work. She moved further into the room and settled herself down on his office sofa; pulling the coffee table a little closer and began spreading out the files in front of her.
A comfortable silence fell in the pair; the sound of papers turning was the only sound that was accompanying the sound of the fan in the room. Copia's office was lavished with dark colors, leathers, and bookshelves but it was cozy still especially with the candles scenting the air with their rich flavor so Ari found herself relaxing and focusing on the work in front of her without too much trouble. She didn't realize that Copia had been sitting there watching her in silence for a good 15 minutes; just watching the expressions that twisted her face as her thoughts processed what she was reading.
At last, she looked up with an exasperated look. "Copia, what kind of people were you hiring for this job? These files are a mess and the numbers are all wrong!"
"Oh?" the papa asked frowning.
Ari nodded and picked up one sheet of paper waving it in front of her. "The financial part of the tour is all off. There are receipts missing, numbers aren't adding up, and I'm pretty sure there are extra expenses that were cashed in that have nothing to do with the tour needs." she pursed her lips.
"What in Satanas name?" Copia huffed and unfolded himself from his office chair before making his way over to sit beside her on the sofa; peering down at the jumble of numbers and printout of receipts.
"See here, this is the budget that was agreed upon for your last tour." Ari circled a line of numbers with her pen before circling another part. "This is what was spent on tour expenses; or what is being claimed as tour expenses. But if you look here on this list of receipts there is a good chunk of money missing that didn't have a corresponding receipt." the young woman said as she jotted down a few marks and notes at the corner of the sheet of paper.
She grabbed her calculator and began typing out numbers before showing it to him. "There is at least $1800 missing that doesn't add up to the rest of the expense. Do you know what that was being used for? Were there some extra expenses that you had to use? A broken instrument or maybe a wardrobe issue that you needed to buy?"
Copia gazed at the paper and shook his head - his brow furrowing in confusion. "No, the tour went perfectly smooth last month," he stated grabbing the paper to examine further.
"My only other idea was your manager who was in charge of all of this was taking money from you guys to spend on...whatever the hell it was they wanted to buy without permission. That's why you're down nearly 2k." she said.
"Oh, Lucifer help me." Copia rubbed his forehead and muttered something in Italian.
"Hey don't stress, it can easily be fixed, and get your money back but that'll involve a bit of an investment to make that money back." Ari soothed as she rubbed his back. "I'm thinking if we can order an extra installment of merch for the next tour and cut back on a hotel stay or two we should be back on track. Are you okay with that?" she asked.
"Si si." Copia agreed nodding slowly.
"Good, I'll jot some notes down and see what else we can do to help balance the books some more. Oh, before I forget did you have a schedule for the ghouls for their practice sessions and stuff I can work on?" she added as she began packing up the file she was working on.
"Ah, si. There should be a schedule sheet in one of these files. We haven't changed the schedules much. I think the ghouls have an extra few days off though after we get home from tour that we've implanted to give them time to decompress."
Ari nodded. "Good good. Okay. I can work around that." she fiddled with the other files as she skimmed through them and the pair fell silent again.
"Thank you, Mio caro." Copia suddenly spoke up causing the woman to look up with surprise.
"For what Copia?" she laughed a bit.
"For taking on this job. We know it is a big ask and well...you're the most capable person we've had thus far who seems to know what they are doing. I feel as if we will be in good hands." Copia smiled as her and she returned it with a kind one of her own.
"I enjoy this type of work Copia, and I appreciate the opportunity. It's not every day someone gets to work with a famous band." she gave a playful wink
"Si." Copia gave a laugh before ending it on a sigh and slapped his knees. "Well, I should probably get back to work eh?"
"Unless you'd like Sister Imperator on your ass then I should think so." Ari teased.
"Ah, you met Seester?"
"I did. We met when I arrived last night. Severe looking woman but she's not half bad. I don't imagine I'd be working with her a lot though." Ari confessed as she turned back to her files.
Copia hummed thoughtfully before he sat back down and picked up his pen to look over his notes again.
The pair worked in silence after that until late in the evening when someone knocked on the door. It opened and a ghoulette's head poked in.
"Sorry to intrude Papa. But would we be able to steal Ms. Ari for a little while?" Cirrus spoke up.
"Ah, si. I think it's late enough Mio Caro. Why don't you go relax until dinner? You can sit with me at the table and meet my brothers." Copia winked.
Ari stretched with a sigh. "If you're sure Copia." she finally said as she began packing up her things and putting them away.
"No no! Tesero! Leave your things here, you are more than welcome to use my space for your work! Just put them over there in that cubby whenever you're done with your work!" Copia rose from his chair and rounded the table to help put away her files into a cabinet in the corner.
"Oh, are you sure? I don't want to intrude on your personal space Copia!" Ari protested with a frown.
"Nonsense! I enjoy your company far more than if I were alone here. You are family now so please make yourself at home!" the man replied lifting her hand to place a kiss on her knuckles.
Ari smiled warmly at him. "Thank you." she replied before finishing up putting her things into the cabinet.
"Alright, well I'll see you later tonight then!" Ari waved at the papa before heading over to Cirrus.
When they entered the hall she found Cumulus and Aurora waiting for them. "Oh, what's this? Am I in trouble?" she squinted playfully causing the women to laugh and shake their heads.
"No! We just wanted to show you something. It's a surprise!" Aurora chirped linking her arm through Ari's and beginning to lead her back toward the Ghoul's wing.
But instead of going to her assigned chambers, the girls went further down the hall to stop at the double doors leading into the Ghoul's hall. She was ushered inside and was left speechless on the threshold.
The Ghoul's wing felt like some sort of one-floor mansion with an open space, a comfortable exterior that reminded Ari of an old Victorian-style mansion, and the air was filled with the scent of rich incense that was burning from holders in different spots of the large living space filled with couches, beanbags, and other furniture.
"Wow. Well, this wasn't expected." she mumbled as she was led further inside to the common room where the other ghouls were waiting.
"Surprise!" Swiss held up his hands motioning to something by the fireplace and Ari turned her head to look and found bundles of wrapped gifts and bags sitting on the stone platform.
"What's all this?" Ari asked confused as she was led to sit down in a large overstuffed bean bag beside Rain.
"It's a 'welcome to the Ministry' party!" Cumulus gushed. "We wanted to thank you by doing something special for you!"
"Thank me? But I haven't done anything yet?" Ari laughed looking around at all the masked faces.
"Perhaps not, but uh...well..." Rain scratched the back of his neck. "We could already tell right off the bat that you'd be a good fit for the band and the project. You've been kind to us and treated us fairly even after only being here for less than a day. We just wanted to thank you for agreeing to take us on."
"We don't do this to every manager we get so just shut up and be grateful." Dewdrop crossed his arms looking away.
"Well of course I am! I'm just confused since I haven't done anything for you guys yet." Ari replied shaking her head.
"You gave us the time of day and treated us with equality...not like an object. That's enough for us." Phantom said as he grabbed a few of the presents from the pile and passed them over to her.
"Go on and open it!" Aurora bounced on the sofa beside Mountain.
Ari laughed and began to carefully open the packages that were handed one by one to her. In all, she had a beautiful leather bag that smelled of fresh leather and polish with intricate designs on it and buckles that she'd gotten from Swiss because according to him; her current bag was threads and she couldn't possibly go walking around with such a thing.
She'd gotten a new journal from Phantom that she could write notes, schedules, and such on for easier access and less hassle to work with when she got to work. It was beautiful black leather bound with a leather tie and had a cool-looking design of a Japanese zen garden etched into the leather. She loved it as she traced the delicate engravings imagining herself carrying this thing around her all the time.
From Aurora, Ari received the most beautiful gemstone necklace she'd ever seen. To most people, it may have been plain. But the entwining of the metal around the stone. A rough-cut moonstone clasped within the metal wrapped around it. She had said the Moonstone was a symbol of new beginnings, inner growth, and strength.
From Cumulus, Ari had received a music box; it was black with gold engravings with a paneled picture of the moon and stars. The music box played a melody that she wasn't familiar with but it was beautiful and melodic while an angel spun around in the middle.
Rain was so sweet and gave her a bath set filled with bath salts, soaps, candles, sugar scrubs, and more for a spa day. The scents were so sweet and she couldn't stop smelling the bar of soap causing Rain to duck his head in a bashful display of embarrassment when she thanked him for the thoughtful gift. Ari didn't remember the last time she had time to actually enjoy a good bath to help ease a stressful day so the gesture was sweet of him and she planned on using it whenever she got the next chance.
Cirrus had gifted her a few new articles of clothing. A few pairs of comfy jeans, a few sweaters that were fleece or knitted, a few pairs of fuzzy socks for comfort, and a long trench coat to help keep her warm in the coming months. They smelled like her perfume and Ari had a thought the ghoulette had purposefully sprayed her favorite perfume she always wore onto them.
Mountain's gift had been this beautiful chest hand carved by his own hand with flowers; but that wasn't all, inside was a little packet of seeds that he said were seeds belonging to the flowers Iris, Hyacinth, and Alstroemeria. He said he was planning to plant them in the garden in her honor. It was a sweet gesture and Ari thanked him with a warm heartfelt smile.
Lastly, Dewdrop's. His was a little confusing because it was small and seemingly uncaring. It was a pick. A guitar pick to be precise. A black pick with the Ghost band sigil engraved on the front and his element sigil on the back. At first, she was confused until Dewdrop's grumpy self explained in not too many words that it was hers to use despite not having a guitar...until he clarified it would be the pick she used when he gave her guitar lessons. It was only then that Ari realized his gift wasn't actually the pick but more of the gift of his time. As sort of an olive branch to her - a chance to spend time with him and get to know him. To bond. She could already tell Dewdrop was one of little words and he didn't get along with a lot of people so to have this opportunity given by him was something big and important to him.
"Thank you guys. All of these are such sweet gifts and so thoughtful." Ari smiled down at the pile of things in her lap. She wasn't expecting this kind of gesture from them so it did strike a chord in her; they were trying to be her friend. Giving her the green light and letting her know not with words but with their gifts that they were accepting her into their fold. So Ari knew, just because of this; she'd make sure to cherish not only the gifts but the givers as well and give back to them in the only way she knew how. By being their friend and by being the best she could be for them.
"Aw, damn you aren't going to cry are you?" Dewdrop looked over at her seeing the look on Ari's face.
"No!" Ari chuckled despite the emotion choking her up. "But all of this...it's so sweet of you guys. Thank you."
"You already said that." the fire ghoul grumbled as he grabbed a beer from the carrier on the coffee table. "Now can we drink or what?"
"Sounds good to me! Want one Ari?" Swiss asked as he grabbed one for himself.
"Sure, I'll have one." Ari agreed as she grabbed a bottle from his offered hand.
"I think this will be great. This partnership." Mountain leaned back against the couch and smiled to himself.
"You know what Mountain? I think so too." Ari shared his smile before taking a sip from her bottle.

Let's See What You Like Most - @iamthecomet - Dew x Mountain x OC
A sister plays a game with her ghouls. Everyone wins. “Why are you acting like we’re done,” he whispers. She startles, her face must twist in confusion because he laughs at her, low and dark. “C’mon sister, did you think it was going to be that easy?” She shakes her head. Doesn’t understand what he wants. She’s drunk off of his smell already, wants to go to her knees for him, wants to give him whatever he’s looking for. “I don’t—” “Run,” he breathes.

Two ghouls at once was unprecedented for you. But you love a challenge.
golden hour - @p1nkcanoe - mountain x reader
Mountain is an unholy creature; a ghoul summoned from the pits of Hell to serve and conform to the demands of his summoner. Equipped with a impressively massive build and ghoulish features, sharp claws, and thick horns that mirrored that of a ram, the last thing that anyone expected was his raw devotion to a mortal human being.
