Flight of the Sky Titan

In the heart of the jagged mountains, the roc perched atop its lair, its massive wings folded tightly against its body. The creature's eyes, a fierce amber, scanned the skies for prey as its powerful talons gripped the rocky crag. At rest, the bird dwarfed even the tallest trees, and its feathers, black as a starless night, rustled in the wind.

The roc had lived for centuries, hunting for food and protecting its territory. Its nest was a haphazard collection of debris, a tangle of trees, tents, and the remains of ships and caravans it had carried off. The creature had long ago stopped caring for the treasures that sometimes found their way into its lair, and instead focused solely on finding its next meal.

As the roc took flight, its wingspan spread more than two hundred feet, dwarfing everything below. It soared high above the clouds, searching for a slow-moving target, something large enough to satiate its hunger. It ignored towns and forests, where prey could easily take cover, and instead focused on open spaces where it could hunt freely.

Days turned into weeks, and the roc searched relentlessly, covering great distances as it hunted for its next meal. But as time passed, the creature grew weary, and its amber eyes began to lose their sharpness.

One day, as the roc flew over the ocean, it caught sight of a lone ship, its sails billowing in the wind. The creature's hunger surged, and it dove down, its massive talons outstretched. The ship's crew scrambled to defend themselves, but it was no use. The roc snatched the vessel in its talons, lifting it high into the air before dropping it into its lair.

As the roc settled in to feast on the ship's crew, it sensed a presence nearby. It turned to face a group of adventurers, armed with swords and shields, who had come to rid the land of the monster that had terrorized the region for far too long.

But the roc was not easily defeated. It spread its wings and took flight, circling above the adventurers as it prepared to strike. The battle raged on for hours, with neither side gaining the upper hand.

In the end, the adventurers emerged victorious, but the roc's memory lived on. It remained a legend, a creature of myth and legend that roamed the mountains, hunting for its next meal. And though it was gone, its legacy would live on, inspiring tales of bravery and daring for generations to come.

MOC Showcase: Grundelon Dragon Upgrade

One of my largest and proudest MOCs for Akrathia is Grundelon the Dragon Lord. I went out of my way to make him larger than any official LEGO dragon ever made, which led to unique obstacles concerning the build itself, chief among them, the size of the wings. The wings were so large that no single LEGO joint could accommodate them, so the closest thing I could get initially was twin ball joints reinforced with tightening extenders. But today I finally got around to correcting this. Today I constructed a technic mechanism that uses a large ratchet joint in tandem with twin ball joints inside the body to accommodate lateral movement. Finally, I reused the tightened ball joints for horizontal movement. The result was fully articulateable wings that can be positioned into nearly any pose in both flight and landing.

The game I've been working on for over 5 months now has been announced: Kromlech - an early iron-age inspired swords and sorcery action adventure. Main inspiration for combat is Severance/Blade of Darkess. It's running on UE5. Here's some art I've done and you can watch our (live action!) trailer on YT and wishlist on Steam. :)

Princess April of Arie, the magic queendom in the snowy north of Tathylia.

She's a kindhearted and extremely caring young girl who loves to care for her friends and people. When she learns about the magical discrimination in her country and crimes of her ancestors, she makes it her mission to right their wrongs.

She may be too passive and timid at the moment to be a true leader, but that will have to change... especially since her country is at war with Ragiel. A little later on, she'll lead Arie's Deliverance, a group of knights, nobles, mercenaries, and commoners that want to retake a fallen Arie from Ragiel.

MOC/Minifigure Showcase: Honthum Caravan.

My latest MOC depicts a commonplace sight in the world of Akrathia; strangers from a strange land, astride a strange beast. The Honthum is one of many such fantastical creatures native to Akrathia, specifically the far south, in the alien homeland of the ferocious Fomor. They are used as beasts of burden, carrying entire caravans on their backs and traveling over thousands of miles.

The MOC itself is, as previously mentioned, a product of my own imagination, but the build is inspired by the LEGO Games Horizon Zero Dawn set, from which I borrowed the technique to firmly attach the creature’s head. Dark tan was chosen as a color to depict thin, camel-like fur, while grey was used on the neck to simulate a mane. The caravan on the Hontum’s back is designed to carry two large crates of goods, plus a treasure chest, and other assorted accessories, the former of which slides neatly into the cargo compartment via a track, and locked in by a pair of cleverly attached barrels.

The minifigures on this MOC are members of this particular caravan, who are important character in their own right.

1. Mother Zim

Mother Zim is an itinerant fortune teller who uses a crystal ball in tandem with her connection to  “The Sight” to supposedly gaze into people’s future, and in reality, into their hearts and minds. Zim’s dubious fortune telling may seem a bit ingenuous, but it is founded out of a genuine desire to see people become their best selves.

2. Otume

Otume is a silent but staunch Fomorian Caravneer, whose lifelong journey across Akrathia’s roads has given him a near-innate knowledge of the land. He has keen eyesight, with which he remains vigilant for potential thieves and bandits. He may seem rather stoic, but he is fiercely loyal to his fellow travelers, and will defend them with his bow-staff, his weapon of choice.

3. Lopez

Lopez is a Moncadan merchant who was excommunicated from the Mercantile Collective for his unconventional and eccentric selling methods. Though a shrewd salesman, he proves an unenthusiastic soul, seemingly just content with being wherever he is. This lack of emotion makes him a blunt, but practical traveling companion.
