an overview of the things we watched during my turbofolk seminar for @roadwhores @lofimp3 and my other balkan (and non-balkan) followers who might be interested

(my professor is bulgarian for context and unfortunately she hasn’t made the presentation with all the additional information public yet so these r just my personal notes & things ive remembered.Thumbs up)

we started with the only balkan song that is on the voyager golden record which i thought was sooooo beautiful as someone from a country who didn’t have anything interesting to contribute to the golden record besides the greeting to the universe i feel very humbled and reverent to have listened to it

goran bregović - bella ciao & kalashnikov at sziget festival 2012 (our professor mentioned that he’s kind of a piece of shit who steals songs from marginalized communities and profits off of it and has been actively sued for it in the past so i made sure to shake my head while i was listening to show that i didn’t agree with his actions)

recordings of traditional folk songs being performed at serbian weddings I forgot to write the performer’s name down but he played the clarinet beautifully and someone stuck a bill to his forehead while he was playing to show their appreciation which I think we need to bring back)

we talked abt ceca quite extensively and also looked at one paparazzi photo of her with some politician guy who besides being her biggest fan in the world is also apparently a huge fan of vinnetou & robert de niro which i thought was kind of a slay personally

we watched one lepa brena video from the 80s and one from the 90s to see the transformation of her style and the sound of her music throughout the years

+ also clips of her wedding to boba which we compared to ceca’s wedding to the serbian mobster who then ended up being assasinated (we didn’t touch on ceca’s personal criminal history too much but after a brief glimpse at her wikipedia page I think we should have im slightly obsessed with her i think)

azis!!!!!!!!! he’s such an icon to me our professor showed us a selection of his mvs ranging from the time when he wasn’t out as a gay man yet to i think his most recent song so we kind of witnessed his whole transformation from his like full blown drag stuff (i.e "hop" - SLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) to his most recent very aggressively masculine & americanized style but i am literally actually legitimately obsessed with his look from his old videos i need to look exactly like him immediately like . Are you kidding me

we ended with dubioza kolektiv - USA & no escape from balkan and i kind of want to tattoo the lyrics of the second song on my body if im being honest i respect what these guys have going on

overall it was definitely the best seminar from this course and im so glad i dragged my lifeless body out of bed in the morning to attend it bc i cannot even imagine missing out on it you guys have a very wonderful culture and i loved that 80s & 90s balkan music videos literally look identical to czech mvs from that time I felt a deep sense of kinship while watching them. Long live yugoslavia ❤️

Látogatottság és népszerűség A Balaton Sound népszerűsége évről évre nőtt. 2016-ban 157 000, 2018-ban 165 000, míg 2019-ben már 172 000 látogató vett részt a fesztiválon, mindhárom évben új rekordot állítva fel. forrás: hu.wikipedia.org Élmények és hangulat A Balaton Sound különlegessége a Balaton közvetlen közelsége, amely egyedülálló hangulatot kölcsönöz a fesztiválnak. A nappali órákban a látogatók a tóban hűsölhettek, míg az éjszakai bulik a legnagyobb sztárok zenéire zajlottak. Omg I love seeing another long hair Louis hater . Too many people on twitter drool over his long hair and I’m like no y’all have bad taste. Louis’s face features work better with short hair . I love his hair in 2012-2013 and towards the end of 2014 especially during Orlando he looked so pretty with his hair like that . I do like the length of his hair now but he needs to style it

La NOS Records è lieta di annunciare la pubblicazione di Il bisonte” di Vittorio Nacci, autore e musicista pugliese,

che anticipa il primo album del suo progetto musicale da solista,

dopo due LP e un secondo posto a Sanremo Nuove Proposte come leader e fondatore degli iohosemprevoglia.

“Il bisonte”, in cui un testo dal lirismo malinconico si fonde con linee di chitarra scarne ma morbidamente dream-pop, è accompagnato dall’uscita del suo videoclip ufficiale, affidato alla regia di Antonio Stea, che così commenta il suo lavoro: "Nel cuore del bosco, dove l'ombra danza con la luce e il tempo si perde tra le foglie, c'è un luogo dimenticato dal tempo. È lì che il protagonista del videoclip "Il Bisonte" trova finalmente il suo rifugio. Un casolare abbandonato, avvolto dal mistero e dal silenzio, con un fuoco acceso che brilla come una fiamma di speranza nel buio della sua solitudine. Attraverso il fuoco, il tempo ritorna alla normalità e il protagonista prende consapevolezza di tutto ciò che lo circonda. È in questo momento di risveglio interiore che comprende che la sua solitudine era solo una fase necessaria per ritrovare se stesso e il suo posto nel mondo. Ma prima di questo epilogo, il viaggio del protagonista ci conduce attraverso un mondo sospeso tra realtà e sogno. Con l'uso del Time-lapse nelle scene statiche, emerge il contrasto tra il movimento incessante del mondo esterno e l'immobilità del protagonista, simboleggiando la sua staticità emotiva. Nei boschi, la tecnica della pixilation aggiunge un tocco di magia e meraviglia al suo cammino, trasportandoci in un mondo di surreale bellezza, dove il confine tra il reale e l'immaginario si dissolve." "Il Bisonte" ci invita a esplorare i misteri dell'animo umano, a perdersi nei boschi dell'introspezione e a ritrovare la nostra vera essenza, anche nelle più remote e dimenticate parti di noi stessi.

BIOGRAFIA

"Il bisonte" è il singolo d’esordio di Vittorio Nacci, classe 1985, autore, musicista, produttore e figura poliedrica della scena musicale pugliese, che dopo la lunga esperienza discografica al timone della band iohosemprevoglia, con questa nuova avventura artistica inaugura un percorso musicale autonomo, che unisce il cantautorato italiano a sonorità alternative d'oltreoceano.

Il singolo anticipa l’imminente uscita del primo LP dell’artista pugliese, che dopo aver militato da chitarrista in formazioni punk-hardcore del barese, frequenta il Centro Europeo Toscolano di Mogol e si diploma come autore, diventandone poi assistente alla docenza. Nel 2003 mette insieme gli iohosemprevoglia, progetto musicale con all’attivo diversi EP, due LP e un’intensa attività live nazionale e internazionale (arrivando a suonare sul Mambo Stage dello Sziget Festival di Budapest). Nel 2012 viene selezionato con la band per il 62° Festival di Sanremo, nella sezione nuove proposte, piazzandosi al secondo posto. Ne conseguono un contratto con Sony Music, un disco omonimo e l’entrata nel roster di Sony/ATV come autore. Successivamente pubblica il libro di racconti La mandria umana (CSA Editrice) e parallelamente all’attività della band produce diversi progetti della scena pugliese. Tra il 2022 e il 2023 scrive, arrangia e registra nel suo studio Il bisonte, disco la cui produzione è stata seguita da Orbita Dischi e da cui è tratto l’omonimo primo singolo. A fine 2023 partecipa con Francesco Bianconi, Cesare Basile, Mauro Ermanno Giovanardi e altri a Stagioni, disco tributo per i 30 anni di carriera dei Massimo Volume, ideato e prodotto da NOS Records.
