It's been a while since I worked on an original Digimon design. But since it's a day off today and I've been thoroughly back into my personal Koura framing madness... I thought about their potential Jogress evolution and how Tri has robbed us of it. The third or fourth movie should have been theirs, just saying.
I just thought about how great it would have been to not only have it been born over Sora's and Koushirou's bond with each other, but also over their devotion to Taichi (and by extension, Yamato as well). By having them wish to fight alongside, support and protect him/them.
The design itself borrowed mostly from HeraklesKabuterimon, Hououmon, a bit of Garudamon and Silphymon - and of course the general idea of them being rather humanoid (and non-binary, because this would be the first Jogress evolution of Chosen Children with different genders - who may or may not struggle with their own self-representation). The helmet and armor are mostly taken from HeraklesKabuterimon, the head, the brain; whereas most of the body (shoulder pads!), wings are mostly inspired by Hououmon, the free spirit, the beauty... They're protectors, they're shields, they're knights. They love their redheads and will do whatever it takes to grant their wishes. (The height might still be variable, depending on demand. Not surprising that they have orange-reddish hair, huh? On a different note, Reboot!Tentomon once mentioned he was jealous of Garudamon's long hair, so...)
The name, Talosmon, is still WIP, but I liked the idea of basing it on the Greek (bronze) giant, Talos, created by Zeus to protect Europa and those He desired to protect out of love... It of course doesn't fit 100%, because they're meant to be golden, but the overall theme still fits!

Post big bad digimon reboot impressions rant:
Taichi's plot armour is so thick he easily survived 4 equivalents of a 'nuclear' blast like it was a joke
Holy digimon getting their megas was awesome to see but in the end still managed to be sorta badly written overshadowed by Taichi's 2021 protagonist supremacy (this fills me with such fear/dread for the other 4 eventual megas)
Everyone who's not Taichi, Hikari, or Takeru was basically a cheerleader this episode and easily could've been swapped with a broom or a rock
For an invincible digimom and heavily anticipated antagonist, (Z)Millenniumon was beaten in record time by the power of friendship and thick plot armour of a shonen protag. Kinda disappointed about that. I hoped he would be there longer and wreak some serious havoc. Also hoped they would beat him all together
While on the point of Millenniumon, have you any idea how much we were robbed by Toei's decision not to make evil digimon speak a single word (Devimon and alien brain clan of digimon barely count)
On a good note, seems like they finally decided to recall the importance of the crests
On an even worse note, it seems they're going by the already tested route of 'when the big bad is defeated, show that there was someone behind it all along' and idk.. that would kinda be lame in this case, but let's see maybe this was not the last we saw of Millenniumon

Digimon Adventure: 2020 – Episode 6: The Targeted Kingdom (Review)
Thoughts on the sixth episode of the Digimon Adventure reboot series.
Hello Mimi! This was a cute episode.
How long has Mimi been in the Digital World for? She made her own kingdom pretty quickly. This girl is definitely going places. :P
I like Mimi’s new voice (though I still prefer AiM’s). But liking Mimi’s voice reminds me that I still don’t like Sora’s, lol.
The tanemon are sooo cute, especially the ones jumping up and down on the drums. *squish*
It’s the same in the original, but the fact that a 10-year-old girl towers over an 11-year-old boy and girl still makes me laugh. I know it’s realistic, but the visuals are funny. :p
The reboot is using the time dilation thing to cheat, just like the original. So the 72 hours the kids have to save Tokyo has become . . . an entire season? lol.
Now we know that Mimi’s grandfather is the chairman of Tachikawa Heavy Industries. Nice drop of info there.
Taichi decided to call Mimi his queen fairly quickly, lol. I’ll probably end up shipping Michi in this reboot, too.
Best moment in the episode: Mimi designating Taichi and Sora as servants #72 and #73, haha.
After joining Mimi’s kingdom, Taichi, Sora and their digimon all wear leaves on their heads like the tanemon. That was super cute. XD
It really looks like only Agumon/Greymon has that super cool evolution sequence. *sigh*
Palmon’s evolution to Togemon was still nice, though. But Togemon’s design is still so basic - she’s probably my least favourite digimon design.
We’re robbed once again of a proper initial encounter between another Chosen and their digimon, but at least we got a few flashbacks of Mimi meeting Palmon.
Mimi and Palmon have a cute relationship. Welcome to the team!
Next week, Jou!
And, I would assume, Yamato joins them in episode eight? Hopefully!
I respect the reboot’s decision to do something different and go about introducing the kids one by one, but it’s still so hard. I just want all eight kids together ASAP so that they can all bounce off of each other.
Anyway, below are EPISODE TITLES for the next four episodes of Digimon Adventure: 2020.
They contain spoilers, so if you don’t want to know the episode titles, this post ends here for you!
SPOILERS! SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
The episode titles are:
Episode 7: That Boy Is Jou Kido
Episode 8: The Children’s Attack On The Fortress
Episode 9: The Ultimate Digimon Attacks
Episode 10: The Steel-Solid Super Evolution
Are we getting MetalGreymon this early in the season!? Looks like it!

Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna and Eosmon and relation to the theory of my old favourite fanfic
My previous post disappeared mysteriously eaten up by Eosmon. Maybe I shouldn’t even post it.
Just got a little hyped up after watching the trailer a few times recently during my holidays. RIP holidays...
I had been intrigued by the new enemy Digimon, EOSMON.
Tumblr media
I feel there is parallel to another Digimon, namely Diaboromon.
Tumblr media
They are similar. Why? Diaboromon eats data while Eosmon eats consciousness of the Chosen Children?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m excited when I saw this as it was similar to a storyline I cooked up many years ago in my fanfic “Digimon Adventure Zero Two: The Alternate Adventure” (ff.net / ao3) and this was one of my favourite plotline.
Diaboromon was one of the antagonist, Yamato and his team had been preparing to deal with him if he ever shows up. Little did they expect one of their own to get involved with Diaboromon behind as they thought they lost him years ago during their battles.
Taichi had lost his memories in this setup and Keramon had been his only friend to ease his sense of loneliness. The truth is Taichi can release him from his seal and allowed him to evolve and feast on the negativity of the untold fallen Chosen Children. In this setting, the first memory Taichi had was in the Vault (server) after he was reconfigured waiting to be transmit back to the Real World and somehow Tri had perfected my idea on how the Vault should look like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Robbing their consciousness could mean robbing their memories so they would forget their bonds with their Digimon partner, somewhat like another reboot which was done with the children’s memories instead. My idea is Taichi was rebooted without his memories in the Digital World (he lost his remaining  memories after returning to the Real World due to other reasons).
"W-What have I done?" Taichi finally spoke up glancing at his hands. He had come back to his senses. "I didn't realise he had been feasting on the negativity on my mind. Because of me, Ai-chan, Kou-chan and the rest…" Taichi cried smashing his fists onto the ground. “
~“Digimon Adventure Zero Two: The Alternate Adventure” (ff.net / ao3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This scene totally fit in. Daisuke and the rest came to the rescue but they are not the ones who can defeat the enemy.
Tumblr media
"Taichi, I'm so sorry. Because I'm weak I can't protect you and I caused you to suffer so much." Agumon cried. Taichi hesitated with his trembling hands. He finally hugged him back. He did not know why. This Digimon felt warm to him. Suddenly he felt really secure hugging him.
~“Digimon Adventure Zero Two: The Alternate Adventure” (ff.net / ao3)
Agumon is Taichi’s one and true partner. Taichi with the help of his “new” friends”, was convinced that he could make things right. However, WarGreymon was defeated quickly.
Tumblr media
Taichi fell on his knees weakly to only be caught by Yamato. "He ate my memories about here too." He mumbled as some memories such as the name "Agumon" and the pink ball Digimon even though vague was broken like a glass in his mind. But why did it hurt so much to see the partner he just knew defeated and broken?
~“Digimon Adventure Zero Two: The Alternate Adventure” (ff.net / ao3)
Taichi had to decide whether to destroy Diaboromon with the price of losing the memories Diaboromon had eaten including his lost memories with Agumon. It was a hard decision for Taichi. For the sake of the greater good, he made his decision to destroy Diaboromon. He can’t change his past but he is hopeful that he could create his future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A new Digimon will save the day.
Tumblr media
In the movie, of course, there need to be a newer Digimon to mess with Eosmon.
Tumblr media
I’m curious what this will lead to. I don’t quite like the idea of pulling off matrix evolution though.

I feel like Koushirou was robbed of his importance in WAR GAME, considering he was so important in the movie and had that great bit where he forwards all the mail. Loved all the taishirou though
The possible implication that its only because of Hikari and Takeru that the boys could evolve into Omegamon is great, and also limits how it can be used as well, since the team will have no idea about it :P Enjoying it so far though! (2/2)
In spite of how high stakes this episode was, I’m sure it’s far from the peak. My fingers are crossed that we’ll get plenty of Koushirou being his awesome self, and the reason I think it’ll happen is because he has very much been Set Up in these two episodes. If he just stays in the background as Taichi’s pocket guru I will… be more than a little miffed. I don’t need Action Hero Koushirou, because he’s never been that, but I definitely need him doing all the cool things he did in Adventure. He’s not an armchair detective, when he’s got a theory he investigates it himself. And just out of friendship and loyalty, he wants to be physically with his friends, unless it simply doesn’t make sense for him to be. I love love LOVED in Tri - Kokuhaku when Koushirou was stuck in his office till the last second working on a way to prevent the reboot, and still managed to race out to the scene of the action and brought all the drama with him. Koushirou is not a backseat character! And I think this show’s writers understand that, we just need more time.
Idk about Hikari & Takeru being the reason for the Jogress, though I had a similar thought as you - it reminded me of how Angemon and Angewomon were apparently holding on to Daisuke and Wallace’s digi-eggs in the second thirdmovie, though we never got an explanation for that or what happened to them afterward. (Side note: it may totally have been explained in a novel or somewhere else, I never know about anything that doesn’t happen in the show.) If that’s what their plan is, I don’t know, but as with anything it’s all in the execution. I guess it’d be cool if, like you said, it ends up limiting them, like they need to Jogress but one of their siblings gets kidnapped. Angst and tension out the wazoo. xP
eta: another possibility I thought of is that it’s the other way around - the ascent of Omegamon releases the two feathers, which will bring Takeru and Hikari into the battle, and they’ll stop/redirect the missile while Omegamon fights the boss battle in the digital world… Not sure how likely that is given the feathers seem like important things that were lurking around beforehand, but idk

Not giving us Metalgarurumon in this week's episode was quite possibly the biggest slap in the face the reboot could've given me. Like this was A PERFECT CHANCE for this. Just like the episode with Koushiro. Otherwise, what was all that character progress for lol? I mean, this show does not really value character development for the sake of character development, so I'm very much baffled at them pulling this. What happened to your 2020 shonen rule of making developments only when a power up is needed? Huh, reboot? Also, does Taichi have to witness every single evolution the others make (in a particularly hierarchical order already established), when Agumon himself got his mega and only Sora was there to see it from afar?
All I'm saying is that Yamato, Koushiro, and even Mimi were robbed of their megas while Taichi got a slide form of his own mega. Last three episodes were an absolute wasted potential in terms of that. But hey, at least they got character development for the sake of character development, i.e. fleshing out their characters, so idk they actually win here as far as I'm concerned. Casual character development is basically a complete stranger to the reboot so I'm happy to see some of that.
