cogs are turning in my head thanks to your ifrit/mountain fic because i actually used to identify as autochoris/aego but kind of.. scrapped the possibility once i discovered that i had a sex drive? because in my head ace people couldn't have sex drives (which, i know now, is entirely not the case) my point is; the way you wrote mountain and his shame afterwards, (as well as the definition of aegosexual on the sexuality wiki) resonates with me quite a bit. but i'm struggling to pinpoint if it's an asexuality thing or maybe something else, and i was hoping that an insight into someone's personal thoughts or experiences might help?

(This is a very long response oops, I hope I answered your questions? I am open to answering any more tho <3)

First off, yea, sex drive doesn't define it. I experience times of a very high libido myself, so that shouldn't be reason to scrap ace identities! Especially with autochoris/aego, many of us deal with a sex drive that is not on the low side. The shame part, especially for me can be tied to that! Listening to urges and 'fulfilling' them don't always end... happily for me. It brings a discomfort when it hits me that yea, my arousal made me do that, made me think that, and made me cross that boundary that kept me disconnected from it, something I found fun in theory. (you mentioned 'or something else'... for me that something else is occasionally my own insecurity or bottom dysphoria, so I get that, but I personally am sure that many of the times it mainly stems from being aego.)

With the way I wrote Mountain and that shame.. was a sort of build up of 'oh, would you look at that, my dick finds this very arousing' to 'okay, I find this very arousing' and going into a mental state where the situation is acceptable and something he wants to gain pleasure from. Then with the parts where his imagination wants to run wild, its like him wanting to gain control of what's going on and have fun with it and sort of blind himself from the fact that he was openly jerking off to it lol. (That's why I gave little details of what he was doing there and focused on the show Ifrit was putting on instead and his pov! Bc that's what Mount was fully focused on too!) So then we see that build up of "shame" have him like 'ew, I did that, my body did that and I enjoyed it'. It felt... too real? It's a sort of repulsion caused by the fact that the action is not just in your head/distant from you anymore (I really experience that). That discomfort sometimes doesn't even let you enjoy the afterglow and it sucks. So that comfort Ifrit wants to provide and telling him that he did well and that it was okay, is massive to him. Like, its okay for you to feel this for yourself and let your physical body experience it as well.

(I am for sure making a post about Ifrit's choices now, cause I think those are important to understand how intune he was with Mountain's needs and boundaries.)

But not all aegos feel this so strongly, I happen to and so I wanted to hint at it in the fic. (like even when writing fics, I'll write them, look them over once or twice for basic mistakes, then just post them bc I can't get myself to reread something like that that I created... so my first drafts are basically my final drafts LMAOO. I have a fic idea I haven't been able to write cause I think it'd take too much out of me to do it myself, but I could easily read someone else's work of something just as filthy because it isn't coming from me y'know? I don't have to think about all the mechanics of what is being done.)

I think it really helps to differentiate everything physical and everything mental, understanding what triggers or turns off your arousal, and how you experience attraction. Like you might know already when it comes to fantasizing, many aegos will experience it from the third person view and not include themselves. If they do, it's probably more of a persona of their creation that may have some resemblance, but is separate enough to not actually be them? (I am occasionally guilty of this lol) And with arousal, understanding boundaries and what is needed to reach satisfaction. Its accepting that sometimes that bad feeling is unavoidable and learning how to deal with it and making it a better feeling. Understanding how I experience attraction actually helped me settle on this identity. (I'm on both the aro and ace spec for reference.) Personality, aesthetic attraction, and how much I'd want to be friends with someone really dictates how my attraction works. So I realized I really like watching/reading and fantasizing and experiencing through others and that makes my arousal pop off lmao. Fanfics help a lot cause it brings me comfort knowing its characters I am familiar with and having control over what might be included in the sexual acts.

Going back to how I started this response - I can enjoy a piece of smutty media while my libido is high asf and be like yea, this is so fucking good. But would I actually want to be physically involved in the sexual acts I'm watching? No. Am I sexually attracted to the individuals doing the acts? probably not. A silly simple way I described it to someone else is: I'd fuck Mountain, but I also wouldn't, so watching him get fucked works just fine LOL

All that is not to say I wouldn't ever want to have a genuine physical experience with other physical bodies. I personally would and that doesn't change my identity (although does play part in why I'm specifically aego-gray). it would just take A LOT from me and the potential partner(s) for full satisfaction. (And it took me a few years to settle on all of this, so even answering this is helping me further understand.) So ya, I think I've said way too much already lol. That's a bit of my view of it and how I incorporated it into Mountain's character. It's totally okay if you vary from this and still identify with the same label. It's not a race to put a label on oneself either. I hope this insight was at least a bit helpful and interesting to read <3

AWWH THANK YOUU! I struggled to find a lineart style for so long and I’m so glad people ended up liking it ^-^

I don’t really have a method, but my tools of choice are 2mm and 3mm fine-liners! I use the thicker one for outer lines and the thinner one for facial features and smaller details (clothing folds/hair strands)

Basically just take it slow, make sure your base sketch is clear and easy to follow, it takes a bit to build a steady hand but everything comes with practice!

what are the odds!! i was just telling emily about this earlier today!!

he had a little tiger, that was his favorite. like a painted, wooden figurine. twas a gift from one of the french dukes when he had visited the french colony in india. he didn’t get the gift specifically for the prince, though. he bought little trinkets for his own children, but the tiger was either forgotten or maybe no one wanted it in particular. upon returning from his trip, he met with queen renée, who was holding little two-year-old prince adam, and the duke realized he had the tiger in his pocket and gifted it to the prince. it very quickly became a comfort item for adam for a while. he always held it or carried it in his pocket. it didn’t have a name, he just called it tiger. i’m not sure where it ended up… it’s probably in the back of a drawer somewhere in the west wing, either in his old bedroom or the master chambers. maybe he’ll find it again some time 🥺🐅

and this is an extra bonus, not a toy, but another comfort item:

he kept one of his mother’s shawls after she passed. it’s purple and it smelled so much like her for a while. he had to keep it hidden under his pillows, sort of wedged behind his bed, so servants wouldn’t tidy it away somewhere. (or worse, his father finding it and taking it away from him). at night he’d sleep with it all wadded up by his face. that one is probably still behind the pillows in his childhood bedroom, which pretty much remains untouched because #trauma. i don’t think he would’ve moved it to the master chambers when he moved up there after his father passed. so whenever he decides to go through his old room, he’ll find it again.

Watch me get so hyped about this ask because there are so many options and different ways to go about it that I'd have to separate them into more then one verse-

modern verse (main) - heir of the Alexander enterprise, a large conglomerate involved in various industries, including technology, manufacturing, real estate, automobiles, telecommunications, etc. her father wants her to marry and have a son to inherit the company, but she is more inclined to run it herself. While in her early 20s, and because as a daughter (in her fathers eyes) he doesn't want to give her the responsibility of the company, she is more easily overlooked by him, which she uses that leeway of freedom by abandoning bodyguards, never saying where she is (they have to track her down) and spending a lot of her time traversing the streets. She has a few friends who live in the more dangerous areas (which would be her former comrades in the survey corps in the snk universe). She ice-skates and that for her is a passion.

modern verse (teacher - school / college) - I wondered if she'd be a teacher but honestly Laura would work in Administration, and god do the teachers dislike her, because she will enforce them rules and regulations to a detriment. She acts like she owns the school because of how strict she can be, and how she speaks to the teachers and students. She was engaged (still to Rickard Albrecht) but it ended due to her family influence, so she still goes by the family name Alexander, but she's cut off ties with her family.

modern verse (MP version - patrol inquiry officer) - and the final version is Laura, similar to main, joining the police force to start a career path of her own. She wanted to jump right into being a detective or forensic investigator, but she's still early on in her career and starts off as a patrol officer. She's the insufferable rookie who acts like she is in charge, and even though she follows the rules she often gets too involved and goes beyond her job role.

does twain feel like he isn’t in control of his life due to his connection to 44 ? is his contract with 44 something that he necessarily dreads or regrets ?

oh wow! i don't get anons often so this is a lovely surprise that i've dropped everything to answer right away haha.

as with most things regarding 44 and twain's views on his own life, the answer is unfortunately rather complicated. as i've stated before, his connection with 44 and the work he does for 44 are both things that he ultimately consented to doing, albeit as an alternative to dying before he could ever really live his own life, so on some level he does regard his choice to have undertaken that as... well, a choice.

and he does like the work; the necessity of traveling and speaking to others because of what he currently does for 44 is something he regards as a blessing in disguise, even if that constant travel is ultimately harmful for him... that is to say, while he's being driven and motivated to live a certain way because of his circumstances, the fact that he enjoys living that way or at least wants to enjoy it means that he views himself as having more freedom than he does.

as for the second part of your question... it's only natural that twain dreads the contract more and more as the days go on. practically speaking, it's incredibly unlikely that something will happen to 44 in his lifetime, since 44 has been around since the beginning of communciation through writing on earth specifically, but he dreads the idea of something happening that WOULD necessitate him becoming the inheritor of the archives, since it would mean forfeiting his right to both personhood and death.

so, i would say he dreads it. he doesn't regret it for an instant, though. when 44 fished him up from the mississippi, it was because---verbally or otherwise---in his dying moments, he had cried out desparately for help, having changed his mind about the pointlessness of continuing to live. not that he's had an easy life since that point, but he's come to regard the world as a very beautiful place, and i think he would have regretted it more if he had said "no" and let 44 leave him to drown on the riverbank.

um, so, tl;dr---no, he doesn't really view his life as being out of control, yes he dreads the terms of his contract more and more every day, and no he has no regrets about having allowed the contract.
