am i the only one who feels like alex(the world ender guy) was kind of a missed oportunity in vide noir? like, he was set up by johnnie to be a badass gang leader just for him to never even appear in the end, we just got a close up to his face scar

i feel like buck's encounter with the psychic would've been way more powerful if it was alex instead. its implied that johnnie and moonbeam had a relationship ig, but its barely even hinted at, and he never even mentions her. but with johnnie and alex, johnnie actually mentions him and speaks highly of his brother, and says alex will help buck if he sees the red cloth that belonged to johnnie

the fact that all that build up led to buck not even TALKING to alex kinda irks me. imagine how much better the payoff would be if alex had received the cloth instead of moonbeam? if we had seen his reaction to johnnie's death? if he would've helped buck like johnnie said he would? if we saw what johnnie implied alex would do to the guys who black brained his brother? idk man i think we were robbed

No I gotta agree on that. Like I LOVED seeing Moonbeam and getting know her as her and having all this new information about her (her being part of the World Enders is still wild to me and I love it) and it’s a good scene and all, but I’m still confused as to why they built up Alex so much, especially since this is the first time we’re hearing about him, and he never even got the chance to speak. If it were Dale I’d be a bit more understanding as we know him already (tho not by much cause I would have loved to see more of Dale). But it’s Alex, whose not only the leader of the World Enders but also Johnnie’s (and Dale’s) brother. I would’ve have loved to, you know, actually meet the guy. Especially with how much build up he got. And I GET IT Lord Huron’s lore is meant to be weird and vague and hard to pin down but like. Didn’t need to tease me like that come on

The only reason I could think of was maybe they needed to get Buck on his own again? Like having this the beginning of a war between the World Enders and Z’Oieasu shown or having Buck work with them consistently might have thrown off the tone. It is supposed to be Buck’s story and his own descent into madness. The whole album has this isolated vibe to me, like being alone in a city of people Hard to get that when there’s other people around, especially a group as lively as the world enders. Or maybe they just wanted to include Moonbeam back into the story again lol

GOD I would have loved to see Moonbeam’s scene with Buck done with Alex. I can only imagine how that scene would’ve played out and his reaction to Johnnie’s death. Contrasting Buck’s scene with Johnnie with Alex’s own personality, the possible dynamics, the anger and grief that could arise…..ough

The sun isn’t fully up as you open your eyes. A cool springtime breeze blows through the window as you pull the quilt tighter over your shoulders and snuggle down deeper into your pillows. Just over the early morning calls of birds you hear your lover, Zevlor, gently snoring next to you, his infernal warmth flooding into the soft sheets--welcome, on a morning like this. You lay quietly, savoring the stillness of the moment. Today promises to be a busy day—you have cleaning and errands to do, and artisans are arriving this afternoon to take a look at the leak in the roof, and you promised Shadowheart you’d meet her for a glass of wine after that, and— You sigh. There’s no avoiding it then, you need to get out bed.

You glance over at Zevlor—he’s still sleeping, face soft and relaxed in a way you never see when he’s awake. Let him sleep a little longer, you decide. At the very least, you think, you can prepare some coffee and bring it to him as a consolation when you have to wake him up. Slowly rolling to one side, you sneak your legs out from under the blankets. You only just manage to sit up, however, when a clawed hand gently grasps your wrist. Glancing over your shoulder, you see Zevlor turned on his side, arm outstretched, eyes still closed. He quietly groans his displeasure at your absence, grip on your wrist tightening. Gentle but insistent pressure pulls you back down into the blankets, still warm from where you just were.

Your keep your back turned—if you look now, you know all responsibility for the day that you feel will vanish. “Zev, love, I have things I need to do.” Rather than respond immediately, Zevlor shifts closer, wrapping both arms around your waist and pulling you tight against him. Warmth radiates from his bare chest through your thin night shift. More prominent than his infernal heat, however, is the hard length you feel nudged up against your lower back. Oh. You gently wiggle as if you get even closer to him, teasing.

“You have duties to attend to here, soldier,” his voice deep and harsh from disuse. He ruts his hips against you for emphasis. Your breath hitches as his tone sparks a new warmth in you low in your belly. You both enjoy these sorts of power games on occasion, but it isn't often he initiates with this persona, particularly first thing in the morning. You could be in the mood to play a bit rougher, but the thought of your mile-long to-do list gives you pause. “Zev—“ your half-hearted protest breaks off as he snakes his hand under your shoulders and up to your chin. He holds you gently, but his grip brokers no argument as he tilts your head into his chest, exposing your throat. “That’s no way to address your superior officer” he nips your ear, licking to soothe the sting. It’s as much a question—are you open to this?—as it is an admonishment.

You decide your to-do list can wait. “Fuck—Command—sir,” you stutter out. “Better” he growls.

Gripping your throat gently with his hand to keep you in place against him, he slowly teases his other hand across your collarbone and down to your chest. He hums appreciatively, a low rumble in his chest that you feel as much as hear, as he squeezes one of your tits. His fingers ghost over your nipple in gentle circles, teasing with his claws. You gasp when he suddenly pinches your nipple between his fingers, and he chuckles darkly at your response. He traces his free hand lower, and you squirm in his grip with anticipation.

In response he hooks his leg over yours and presses his hips flush against your back. You wiggle experimentally, but he holds firm and you whine as he stops his hand right above your slit. For a moment he holds you there—one hand still on your throat, one leg firmly holding you slightly open for him, hard planes of his body nearly burning into your back. And his hard length trapped between you, a constant reminder of things to come.

Finally, he allows a single finger—one that he keeps constantly filed down—to slip gently between your folds, intentionally just brushing you clit. He groans in satisfaction as he realizes just how wet for him you already are, and he circles your entrance with his finger before lightly retracing his path back upwards. It’s not nearly enough. You whine and slowly buck your hips up towards his touch as much as his grasp will allow. Lightning-quick, he shifts his hand to your hips and pulls you tightly once more against him. Your body bucks in response, but with nowhere to go you groan, equally smothered by and desperate for his touch. “Please” you manage to gasp out after a moment, breathing heavily from arousal alone, “please sir.” You hope it’s enough. You know he’s going to make you say more. He loves listening to you struggle to speak when you’re this turned on. You’re pretty sure he gets off on how embarrassed you get when he makes you say what you want out loud.

He hums inquisitively, low and dangerous deep in his throat. “Please what? Speak up now.” His voice is clipped and brusque, but you can hear the smirk in his voice. Some part of you, buried and nearly inaccessible at the moment, wants to call him a bastard. But all that comes out is another whine as you clench your feet and your fists in humiliation. It’s equal parts love and hate, but the fact that you don’t like it turns you both on even more. His patience, born of years of service, will always outlast your own, and you both know it. And so he waits, holding you firmly in place even as you struggle, as you finally force the words out.

“Please sir.” You swallow hard. “Please let me earn it…” you breathe for a moment, hoping it was enough, but he’s still waiting. You close your eyes, grateful you’re not facing him as you force the next words out of your mouth. “Please let me suck your cock.”

If there was one thing Kaeya hated more than waking up on a workday, it was waking up with the sun glaring in his beautiful, heterochromatic eyes.

A low groan rumbled from his throat, eyes squinting shut as he rolled over, burying his head in his pillow. What a cruel world he lives in, forced to work when all he wants is to remain in bed with you. However, the responsible part of him knew he had to get up, but that didn’t stop him from reaching over to cuddle with you for just five more minutes.

Though when his bare hand went to search for you and was met with cold sheets his head snapped up from the pillow, eyes wide. You’d always lay with him until he woke up, so your absence was like a splash of cold water. Just where could you have-?

“Morning sleepyhead,” a voice called out, light in volume and sweet to the ear. Immediately, his gaze is drawn over to the bedroom door where you stand, still in your pyjamas. Kaeya hadn’t realized until then how tense his shoulders were, but now that you’d returned within sight his muscles relaxed, body sinking back into the mattress.

He looks at you with this gorgeous, sleepy smile and hums in response. His gaze trails your form as you make your way over to his side of the bed, taking a seat on the edge. 

“It’s a good morning indeed, now that you’re here.” Like moments before he reaches out for you, hand splaying along your leg and giving it a tiny squeeze.

Resisting the urge to roll your eyes, you offer a smile in return nonetheless, “oh Kaeya…  sweetheart, love of my life, you’re such a flirt, even bright and early.”

“But you enjoy it, don’t you?” You laugh, nodding with your agreement. How could you not? He means every compliment he says to you.

Amidst the tender scene (and the act of staring at your content expression), Kaeya spots something new, “what’s that you got there?” Shuffling a little so he can sit up, he tilts his head in hopes to spot the contents of the mug, “coffee?”

“Mhm, for you.” You offer the porcelain, his large hands meeting and wrapping around yours as he takes it, “two and half scoops of sugar and a splash of milk - just the right amount of sweetness - just how you like it.”

There’s a second where you miss the warmth of the cup and your lovers hands, the heat lingering on your own, but when you spot the blank look on Kaeya’s face it’s like all the heat in your body leaves you.

He just stares at the cup, hair falling over his shoulder and creating a curtain to hide some of his face. The silence is worrying and your mouth opens and closes as you search for anything to say, “if… if it’s not how you like I can go make you-”

Your worries are cut off by his quiet mumbles. “Say that again my love?”

“Just how I… like it?” Kaeya tears his gaze away from the rippling coffee, eyes staring up at your confused face. You are the first person in such a long time to make him something to help start his day. The last time someone did was… a very long time ago.

Slowly his lips quirk into a smile, the softest one he’s had all morning, “thank you. I really appreciate it.”

The breath you’ve been holding leaves you as you lean forward and capture the captain’s lips with your own. When you go to back away you can’t help but giggle just a little at Kaeya chasing after you, “Of course, anything for you. Plus, I know you’re not a big fan of mornings.”

“You know me too well, from my dislikes all the way to how I like my kisses,” something a little more teasing coats his tone with his next words, “so that means you know I need no less than three more kisses from you before I head off to work. Will you help a man in need and let him have another one now?”

You laugh again and, never one to say no to him and a kiss, you go back for another, lingering longer than last time. ・❥・It will surprise no one that we threw out the idea that Wild was Eren. BUT Twilight was decided to be Mikasa. Again, super protective, dangerous, good on their own.
