On the downside for Feanor in Everlasting Song: hes dead. On the upside: he didn't marry his sister? That feels like it could have been a distinct possibility if a couple things went differently and would have been mega-awkward for the reborn elves.

You did NOT ask for this, but there is an AU that exists in my head, anon, wherein Feanor and his children are all women, and there do exist branching paths in my head wherein in

1) Lady Feanor never marries and instead flees to Essos with Viserys and Daenerys and this unfortunately doesn't change as much as on would hope. And-

2) Princess Feanor's Uncle Jaeherys decides, on this deathbed, that as part of the Targaryen revival his niece will marry his son, despite her lowly blood, as a matter of necessity. So Feanor, Aerys, and Rhaella are all stuck in this awful, toxic marriage that literally NONE OF THEM WANT, wherein Feanor's constantly rattling the bars of her cage but also so, so desperate to be loved by her only family and it is Bad.

I haven't thought about it that far because it makes me sad and also, like you say, the effects on the timeline are immeasurable, but it hovers around the edges of my mind some times.

More interesting it Option 1, wherein the timeline survives to get to our Daughters of Feanor, and I get to have fun with them. Like such-

Lady Maedhros is married to Willas Tyrell, and also is INCREDIBLY close with her sister, Lysa, with whom she had a serious heart-to-heart shortly before her marriage which has fostered some strange degree of peace in the Arryn household.

Mistress Maglor Sand is a renowned singer, but doesn't become a permanent fixture in Highgarden until Lady Maedhros takes her on as a personal favorite. Nothing else changes about her story, lol.

Mistress Celegorm Snow is engaged to be married and then married to her uncle's man-at-arms, Jory Cassel, and as such travels with her uncle and cousins south to King's Landing as a nurse for Sansa, Jeyne, and Arya. This changes A LOT! She is determined to see her charges home and also to avenge her husband's death.

Lady Caranthir Lannister is engaged to Adamm Marbrand and sent to Ashemark shortly before the Invasion of the Riverlands so that he might have a chance of conceiving an heir. Until such time that Ashemark is taken by Robb Stark, she is pacing like an agitated lion, desperately wanting to get back to her dearest friend, Princess Curufin.

And, oh, poor Princess Curufin. Her mother's beloved, despised puppet, the prize both of her uncles covet. Shortly after Robert's death she disappears in the night and only reappears later on Dragonstone, having been stolen from the Red Keep by a smuggler.

Then there are the little Ladies Arryn, Amras and Amrod. Their young brother is so sickly, every on in the Vale seeks to claim Lady Amras's hand, but their mother guards her strange daughter-friends fiercely.

And, of course, Daenerys Targaryen has a daughter. Her existence opens Dany's beloved mother-aunt to truths she had long searched for but never found. Oh gods. Her daughters are in Westeros.

Regarding the OCs from my latest art!!! I could share more about them 😊 in ff7 they're dead (excluding Karma and my si) but in most verses they are not dead, and are my SI's friends. They've been in my brain since high school and I once started a webcomic about them!

Facts:

Karma is bi and always has a crush on Roxanne. Sometimes they get together, sometimes they break up, sometimes they stay together. Depends! I think he deserves to find happiness but I haven't figured out what I think that looks like for him yet.

Heather is an aromantic lesbian, and Roxanne is an asexual biromantic! They're always besties, and sometimes even date for a bit, though it doesn't usually work out. They always remain close friends.

Tara and Allen are a couple!!! In my original high school based story, Tara comes out as nonbinary during school, and sometimes also goes by the name Jake. Allen loves them as they are. Allen is cis, and neither of them really label their sexual/romantic orientations. They know that they love each other, and that's enough. Tara is actually a twin to a very cis very femme sister but it doesn't come up that much outside of the original story really.

And also, Karma is the protagonist of the OG story! So I'm happy to get to give him a bigger role in my ff7 cast too. He's a genius prodigy vigilante type pretty much always.

WOL Questions! Who was your WOL before meeting the Scions? Are there any relationships/friends maintained outside of the Scions throughout the story?

Sooo... Before meeting the scions, Roi was a VERY jaded and angry person. He didn't believe in good people anymore. He only wanted power so that way no one could ever hurt him again. He wanted to learn black magic solely to get as strong as possible. When the Scions approached him, he doubted them and planned on just joining for a more steady source of income.

Now the issue with Roi is, that no matter how negative and hateful he is, there is ALWAYS a part of him that deeply cares for others. And he tried to keep his distance from everyone to avoid getting attached because everyone he has ever known has basically died due to the empire in ala mhigo or poverty. Roi was exposed to war and violence so early that it really damaged him.

Roi had NO ONE prior to meeting the scions because his parents and his uncle died in ala mhigo and his aunt died in a refugee camp in thanalan when he lived there. But I can say that he does have a lot of friends outside of the scions after ARR. His first friends really were the beastmen in the black mage questline. Who, despite giving up black magic, he is still in contact with. He is also incredibly close with Sid and Rielle from the dark knight quests. The people in the Fortemps family are like family to him. Everyone that he met that was kind to him is someone he considers a friend. Roi gets attached to people very quickly. Despite his self hatred and difficult personality at times, he has a lot of friends outside of the scions. There are a handful of people that he doesn't like (even characters that I do like) that are still alive in endwalker. But pretty much everyone that helped in the msq is a friend to him to some degree outside of those specific people.

But yeah, if Roi hadn't met the scions, he probably would have died or worse because he was going down a bad path.

Ooh I'm curious about the H2O fic! Totally here for it. (And of course the Bones amnesia fic, but idk if I'm supposed to ask about two! Eh, no rules, I guess!)

I think you can ask about two! No rules!

The Bones one I honestly might not finish. I got incredibly distracted from my Bones rewatch. But it's a fic where Booth wakes up and doesn't remember marrying Brennan or having Christine or anything after maybe season 3. He gets his memory back eventually though.

The H2O fic I am actively working on so I have more to say about it right now. It's a Cleo/Lewis fic. It's a future fic, semi based in season 3, but also not really. It's about the aftermath of Lewis being away in America for three years and how they come back together when he gets back. Sort of this idea that they still love each other a lot, but they've gotten just a little out of step. Like Lewis said in the episode he left, they're growing separately, and they'll be different people by the end of it. So it's a little angsty, but also pretty fluffy because ultimately they figure it out. They love each other enough to put in that work, y'know?

I'm also fully ignoring every other plot point from season 3. I was never very invested in the new characters, and I hated the Zane/Rikki breakup. They totally reverted Zane's character development and it made so mad! They massacred my boy! SO. Zikki is together in the background of this fic/is the secondary ship, Emma's moved back to the Gold Coast after finishing uni, and the new characters moved away or something. idk.

I definitely think that Jack and Luke’s significant others might be intimidated by Clem not just because of how close she is it to them but also she’s the captains girlfriend. Like she is the example and they might feel like they have some big shoes to fill.

For Quinn’s significant other I don’t think they’d be as intimated by her and they’d probably become friends quickly. Also since Clem and Quinn are closer in age it just seems less scary🤷‍♀️

that’s such an interesting sub layer in terms of captain’s girlfriend!!! and i’m glad you’re bringing it up because it’s something i do want to explore at some point, probably when it’s obvious that clem and nico are gonna be a long term thing so like a year + after they start dating. i guess she kinda is the blueprint….oof what a blueprint to follow (future doctor, badass, not intimidated by much, etc)
