Rewatched “Scavenger’s Reign” and it gave me the urge to draw something in a way inspired by the beautiful landscapes in the series. I’m out of practice with environmental illustrations, but this was a very calming one to make.

Trees so tall their canopies are lost to the eye, but their seeds drift down in gentle light and land among stones jutting from the ground. Not many beings get to witness it.

the thing that makes my entire body itch about that darcy confession scene parallel is that that's the fucking MIDPOINT of darcy's and elizabeth's story. you've baked the pancake halfway and you've tossed it in the air and you're holding your breath --- and now you've got to catch it and BAKE THE OTHER SIDE!!! you can't just roll the credits and leave me hanging like that!!! what if there's never a third season??? the pancake is ON THE GROUND NEIL!!!

I need to talk about how utterly devastating Daisy’s expression is when Daniel volunteers to stay behind in the finale (before Deke takes one for the team instead) because it genuinely makes me SICK to think about.

Look at her:

It’s her sudden realisation that the one thing- the only thing- that she has wanted for herself for years is being torn away from her again.

Because of course it is, just like everything else in her goddamn life.

Of course, just when she starts to hope for something, the universe steals it away from her. Because when has it not?

She almost looks betrayed- betrayed by herself if anything. Because she let her guard down, she let herself feel again, and it was all for nothing.

And the pure disbelief in her eyes, as if she can’t fathom that it’s happening again at first- genuinely the one thing she fears the most- is heartbreaking. It’s genuinely so, so shattering.

But HEY, it’s fine. Deke stepped in and now they get to live happily ever after, the end. :,D It’s fine everything is FINE.

Black Sails is a masterpiece for dozens of reasons, but one of them is definitely the way that even though season 3 ends on a victory (albeit a bittersweet/costly one), you can just feel the impending doom looming over the characters. The narrative is whispering to you "This is a tragedy." despite the plot and character high notes that the season ends on.

I will die on the hill that if Will was a girl, absolutely everyone would agree that byler makes so much more sense than mileven does when it comes to story writing, cinematography, dialogue, etc. The Duffers as well. If Will ends up finding a new love interest or just stays alone, that would be one of the worst writings I’ve seen. Either it’s queerbate (which wouldn’t be uncommon for movies) or they simply just did a really bad job at portraying mileven as healthy and byler as besties.

i don't understand the kneejerk reaction that things that have a """sad""" ending are automatically bad. like "i hated the ending it made me feel sad therefore this thing sucks" not everything is meant to have a happy ending and trying to force a happy ending where it doesn't belong can do the piece a disservice
