caught ur post abt miraak right before i was abt to go to bed and ive been waiting to share my own weird hc abt his appearance SO hi hello. im unable to commit to a single appearance for him myself, so i eventually just kinda settled on, due to daedric stuff and him wearing the mask constantly, his appearance kinda shifts from time to time bc he himself no longer really knows what he looks like? idk sharing it feels kinda silly now, but i figured i might put in my two cents <:^]

Anon tysm for writing to me before hopping to bed this was such an interesting read!!! Absolutely love this headcanon's narrative....It totally makes sense too like, the cost of miraak's lust for power/knowledge and casting away his humanity in order to become this...Being of pure power, resulting in him not being able to even contain his physical form anymore. And his appearance being in this ever shifting state under hermaous mora's influence/curse/realm would fit his character way too much!!!!

It could ALSO work really well for like, any potential ldb x miraak shippy shenaigans too where after they defeat him (or join him idk) but like, resulting in him going through some sort of existential crisis the moment they rescue/step away from apocrypha, so dragonborn wants to help him piece himself together from this distorted, eldrich, fractured disaster mess of a curse but every moment that passes, his powers and physical form weakens/slips away and he risks literally being torn out of existence ( kinda like what happens with Alucard when he inherits schrodinger cats powers in the hellsing ultimate finale??) bUT EVENTUALLY WITH SOME BADASS ADVENTURE , LOVE, AND LOTS OF SELF REFLECTION/FACING OF INNER DEMONS OR DAEDRIC LORD PACTS oh and some ancient magic THEY SUCCEED IN BINDING HIS PRESENCE ENOUGH to learn to be whole again and eventually settle for the one true form??? woah okay i took myself on a ride there, am i....being infected by miraak brainrot??
