First oc post i am shaking crying throwing up for multiple reasons and also anxious as hell- anyways, meet the man, the failure disaster gay, the forever doomed ginger(derogatory/lh)

Lore utc (i wrote a lot lmao), the uh post ch 134 stuff will be elaborated on later (or if asked. Actually, ask me anything about him. And my other oc's once they're posted. Please. I will answer in great detail. I also need a distraction. Pls.)

So basically, among the first few vampires (a 4th progenitor to be percise) turned by Shikama was a woman who showed great potential for spells and magic. She had a loving husband and child which she tragically lost in an accident. Upon turning into a vampire, her family was still the only thing on her mind. She accepted to help Shikama in his endeavors to revive Mikaela since she hoped she could revive her own family in the proccess. Unfortunately it didn't work. Disillusioned, she abandoned vampire kind and started searching for the possible reincarnation of her beloved husband, whom she may be able to have a child with and have family again.

Fast forward a a lot, and I mean a lot, of years and she arrived in 60s japan. None of the people she had hope for turned out to be the reincarnation of her late husband until that fateful day. She encountered a (rather pathetic may I add) man in his late 20s and it was like a miracle. The woman cornered the man in disbelief and from this awkward first meeting blossomed true love. Then everything went to shit lmaooo

The first problem was that the mans family didn't approve of the woman. Tough this didn't stop their love. Next was the issue of bearing a child, something that a vampire simply can't do. Well, an ordinary one but this woman was anything but ordinary. By some impossible miracle she bore a child. A biological child. (GIRL HOW?? We will never know and frankly, i don't want to think about it💀)

The child was, as expected tbh, kind of a disaster. Already born with pointy ears and sharp fangs. The child needed both human food and blood to properly sustain themselves. Drinking blood outside of their family would permanently stop their aging. Despite this, the couple was overjoyed. (And then named their child "mistake" bc that would help /s.) They named him "Machigai". Why tho?? I dunno man something along the lines of "a mistake but the best mistake of their life" bruh

So after Machigai was old enough to walk, but not old enough to remember, the mother diappeared, leaving father and child behind. The father did his best to raise such an... extraordinary child but it was understandably kind of impossible. Machigai grew up alone and isolated from his peers. He was always wearing a hood of some kind and rarley opened his mouth to talk. In high school, he met a girl who he became good friends with but she is another oc I'll post about sometime adlf,wpl.

Anyways! Come Machigai's high school graduation and 18th birthday, his father... disappeared. All he left was a note saying, that Machigai now owned the apartment and that there is enough blood in the fridge to sustain Machigai's thrist while he could grow and mature. To an already depressed and disillusioned Machigai this obviously didn't help. Throughout the next years he became a shut in, who only left the house if absolutely necessary. All he did all day was play video games, watch tv and later be on the internet. Once he ran out of his fathers blood was when things changed. He had to go out and actually find a new source of blood. Welp, sorry to unlucky bastards who went into dark alleyways at night bc these types of people became Machigai's source of blood. (That's when he stopped aging)

On one of these nightly escapades, Machigai was greeted by a large man in a neat black suit who called himself "Saito". Saito claimed to have known Machigai's mother and offered a deal: Machigai would offer up his unique constitution to the Hyakuya sect's research and in turn get a well paying job and a guaranteed source of blood. He agreed. "Welcome to the Hyakuya sect. I look forward to your performance"

Machigai was practically a lab rat for the development of cursed gear. Thanks to his half-n-half physiology he could tank wounds from cursed gear/magic n shit while still providing useful data to how effective it is. During this time Machigai aquired knowledge of vampire culture(?), became familiar with magic and it's quirks and learned how to perform simple spells and whatnot.

Around 2011, when the internet was already fairly well used, Machigai came across a forum dedicated to paranormal sightings. Various users claimed that a secluded spot in Kyoto was home to vampires. (Ferid was the one spreading these rumors btw) Most would have dissmissed this as someone wanting attention, yet Machigai was intrigued. He was well aware that vampires existed across the world but he mever knew how to actually contact them. Perhaps out of morbid curiosity, perhaps out of a genuine want for connection with people like him, he went to check out the spot. There, he met none other than the eccentric Ferid Bathory who specifically manufactured the rumor to meet Machigai (extra much?). He was well aware of Machigai's work for Rígr "Saito" Stafford and was trying to one up his father by stealing his most prized lab-rat. Machigai declined, not trusting a single thing out of that vampires mouth. Ferid left, already proclaiming that one day Machigai would be working for him.

Machigai stuck around that area as it was already well into the night and public transport wouldn't start up until the early morning. There he met another vampire: Crowley Eusford. Their meeting wasn't planned or meticulously calculated, it was actually rather awkward. Their chat was meaningless and short but in the end leagues above whatever Ferid likes to plan. Crolwey has already unwillingly heard about this curious being from Ferid and seeing Machigai himself left him wanting to learn more about him. Machigai was left a little hopeful, that perhaps it's not too late for him to look for connections.

So the apocalypse rolls around-

Machigai makes a deal with Saito that in exchange for his freedom (*eagle screech*) he would keep his mouth shut about anything the Hyakuya sect discovered while Machigai was there.

Machigai seeks out the Demon Army where he successfully keeps his half vampire identity a secert until someone on his squad gets blackmailed into revealing it. Before that, he gets a cursed weapon, a pair of daggers. And lo and behold, the demon possessing the daggers is his own mother. Unfortunately since the now demonic mother didn't witness Machigai growing up, she falsey believes to be able to still shape Machiagi to her will. After getting locked up by the army, Machigai completley gives up, only wishing for his miserable existence to end (spoiler: It won't! Ever. :) ). He ultimately loses any and all trust he has in humanity or just anything in general.

After about half a year of grueling torture and some experimentation, Machigai gets freed (kidnapped) by Ferid and promptly brought to Kyoto Sangiuem. Krul Tepes, finding Machigai to be useful in her fake-ish war against humanity and whatever she's planning with Yuu and Mika, lets him be part of the japanese vampires under Ferids faction. Ferid found himself unwilling to deal with the often uncooperative and irritated new "recruit" so he did what he does best and made it Crowley's problem.

After a rather agressive and disrespectful first impression, Machigai was officially a... coworker? of Crowley and thus also Chess and Horn in Nagoya. The three got the additional task by Ferid to somehow domesticate this feral and angry stray animal and get him to open up. At least that's how Ferids orders were phrased. Shenanigans, Drama and FeelingsTM ensue.

Ok I've been missing for a long long while... I don't have much of an audience so I guess it's okay (I'm keeping this account for all of my characters to see the light and maybe meet some new people?)

The idea for this new character came thanks to a zodiac sign, Gemini, I thought of a character having multiple faces and a weird hobbie, and that's how Zwei was born.

I planning to make more drawings about him (after I finish Machigai's profile and new design)

Oh yeah and have my oc Dante adopting a bunch of troubled kids. Their names left to right are: Okoro (17), Dawa (10), and Machigai (16).

Dante, when not working for the Resistance, will sometimes take walks, he has a habit of befriending traumatised kids that he meets whilst on these walks and becoming a older brother-like figure to them. He doesn't want any kid to go through the same things he did alone, after all.

Milan Records Releases Ranking Of Kings OST

Milan Records has announced the release of the original soundtrack for the hit anime that won the Crunchyroll Awards "Best Boy" category, Ranking Of Kings. The composer of the soundtrack, MAYUKO had this to say:

  “I encountered a wonderful work of art called Ranking of Kings and thought ‘I can make the music for this piece!’ I composed this piece with the feeling that it was the culmination of my life as a musician. Crying to sad songs, dancing to happy songs – a total of 91 tracks created with the characters' feelings in mind. Along with Bojji’s great adventure, it has been my great adventure. Lost Souls

Here I am with the first part of this month’s themed week in “Let’s Listen to”! Today’s subject is one of the most awaited released of the Japanese summer, the latest effort of the pop artist Kenshi Yonezu, the fifth album Stray Sheep, came out today. The album’s concept comes straight from the title, a reference to the parable of the “stray sheep” told in the New Testament, used to describe the sense of confusion and disorientation brought by the current times. And now... let’s review!

-Campanella: the album opens with the first lead-track, featuring a pretty peculiar sound; soft beats accompain Kenshi’s flowing and natural vocals, in a light and upbeat pop melody; a nice opening song, with an interesting vocal interpretation. ---> 9/10

-Flamingo: one of the leads from the tenth single sees a more decise sound, where Kenshi’s vocals move swiftly in the articulated melody, well underlined by the bass; a flowing and easy song, which keeps up the positive atmosphere of the album. ---> 8.5/10

-Kanden (Electroshock): the second lead-track of the album, used as theme for the drama MIU404, is kicked off by pretty positive notes, surrounded by a pretty simple beat; the vocals are nice and pretty balanced, especially in the refrain, making it even catchier; a nice track, dyed by a jazzy vibe. ---> 8.5/10

-Placebo (ft. Yojiro Noda): this song starts with soft notes, accompained by a pretty relevant beat; Kenshi’s voice is steady, keeping up the melody along with interesting guitar notes and a pretty efficient duet with the lead-singer of Radwimps, in another catchy and easy track. ---> 8.5/10

-Paprika: the lead of the thirteenth single starts with slower and melancholic notes, disposed in a peculiar way; Kenshi’s vocals are pretty suggestive, driving an electronic and fascinating melody, made of a balance between positive and melancholic shades; a song which brings the album to a maturer side. ---> 9/10

-Uma to shika (Horse and deer): natural vocals and nice guitar notes open the lead of the twelfth single, used as theme for the drama No Side Game; the rhythm builds up slowly, leading up to a pretty pleasant melody, with not so exaggerated electronic effects, greatly helped by a deep vocal interpretation; a distinctive track. ---> 9/10

-Yasashii hito (Kind person): this song sees sweet vocals by Kenshi, accompained by warm guitar notes, leading up to a slow and melancholic ballad, where the vocal interpretation is the most remarkable highlight of the track; a track which shows Kenshi Yonezu’s emotional side at best. ---> 9/10

-Lemon: the lead song of the ninth single, theme song of the drama Unnatural, starts with Kenshi’s deep vocals, accompained by a nice melody and a flowing beat, creating an intense atmosphere; the melody improves more thanks to a rock vibe, especially in the refrain, making this track even better, without forgetting the vocal interpretation, which improves more in the second part. ---> 9.5/10

-Himawari (Sunflower): this song brings back the positive vibe in the album, with soft notes opening the song, whose rhythm is pretty fast and the melody is upbeat; the vocals are living, accompained by a fresh guitar, in a pleasant and catchy song, featuring a sort of exotic vibe. ---> 9/10

-Mayoeru Hitsuji (Stray sheep): the title-track starts with a pretty steady melody, featuring decise and dark-ish tones; Kenshi’s voice is intriguing, bringing out a really peculiar vocal interpretation; a good song, built by a various and fresh melody, improved by a nice piano work. ---> 9/10

-Décolleté: this song sees a retrò vibe, where the enigmatic notes mix up with a balanced beat for a quite paced melody, driven by Kenshi’s simple vocals; the song is pretty good, where the best feature is a curious mix of R'n'B and folk sound. ---> 9/10

-Teenage Riot: the second lead of the tenth single starts with interesting guitar notes and a fast beat; the vocals are pretty steady, but fitting with the unpredictable approach of the song, whose melody evolves even thanks to a balanced drum work; another great track, exalting once again Kenshi’s singing skills. ---> 9/10

-Umi no yuurei (Spirits of the sea): the lead of the eleventh single, used as theme for the movie Kaiju no kodomo, is kicked off by Kenshi’s clear vocals, accompained by a nice piano, where the rhythm is made by a slow and articulated beat, where the vocal interpretation is filled by nostalgical shades; a quite compelling track, where the melody evolves with suggestive electronic notes. ---> 9/10

-Canary: the album ends with a quite long song, staying in the nostalgical side; Kenshi’s voice is intense, accompained by clear piano notes, driving up a slow and melodious theme, making the song even more compelling than expected; the vocal interpretation reaches high peaks, especially in clearer notes, where the violin gives an extra touch to an already awesome song. ---> 9.5/10

Kenshi Yonezu is definitely an unique artist within the Japanese pop scene and a confirmation of how in music surprises never end. In ten years of career he always brought something new and refreshing, reinventing his concept through his suggestive art and melodies touching each emotion possible. Stray Sheep represents a fundamental step forward in his path, since it extended his sound to a wider audience, even outside Japan, bringing upbeat melodies, melancholic notes, compelling and various vocals, and a touch of nostalgia and nature, reprised by Kenshi’s early style, showing how pop music is able to bring in unexpected directions and to further horizons. This album is a breath of fresh air, needed in troubled times like these, whose influence is felt even inside each track, and a good companion for everyday life, making it more pleasant and flowing, without any doubt. If you are looking for an intense pop artist, whose sound goes out of schemes, Kenshi Yonezu is your answer, especially with this fifth album. An album for who already knows Kenshi’s unique world and for who needs to get into his music, made of positivity, nostalgia and feelings.

I’m in a good mood so here’s “Stronger Than Ever Before”.

This time I combined some shorter/specific en -> jp lines so they make more sense in a full sentences. Tried to rearrange to fit context but here you go. 

Remember this is for fun.

Now it could also be 路 ro as in route/road, which does fit into the context of the previous line.

Could you help me understand the part in the beginning of the second musical where Grelle corrects William and Alan on her pronouns? Grelle's line was translated in English Subtitles as "Non, non, it's not 'him' it's 'her'!" and I was wondering if that was correct? It's at about 18 minutes in.

In the scene in The Most Beautiful Death in the World, William and his colleagues discuss the abnormal case of great numbers of people dying who were not on the designated list of death.

William expresses how he regrets leaving such a tricky case to someone (as incompetent - according to him) as Grell.

William: “死亡予���者ではない者の大量死… この異常事態を彼などに任せたのが大きな間違いでした”

“Shibou yoteisha dewa nai mono no tairyou shi… Kono ijou jitai wo kare nado ni makaseta no ga ooki na machigai deshita.

“A massive number of deaths of people who were not on the designated list of death… Leaving this abnormal case to the likes of him was a big mistake.”

Alan: “「彼」と言うと…”

“’Kare’ to iu to…”

“And by ‘him’ you mean…”

Grell: “ノンノン　彼じゃなくて　「か・の・じょ」!”

“Non non, kare ja nakute, ‘ka-no-jo’!”

“Non non, it’s not him it’s ‘H-E-R’!”

This scene functions as an exposition to introduce Grell as a character. Grell’s actor is a man (Uehara Takuya), and the producers feared that the audience might not have guessed Grell’s gender if this explicit exposition had not taken place.

I am aware that to many people this musical is their precious enjoyment, but please, the following is important. Please do not defend something that is problematic just because you enjoy and love it. It is al right to like something WHILE acknowledging the problematic aspects of something.

The scene with Grell described above seems to be a marker where all ambiguity about Grell’s gender is removed. However, immediately after Grell has made her entrance, all her co-workers proceeded to ignore or even dismiss her. Grell meanwhile, jumps around the stage in an attempt to attract her colleagues’ attention, perhaps hoping for acknowledgement of her correction. Her attempts however were to no avail.

In a nutshell: Grell DID correct/fight for/reinforce her gender pronoun. It just did not get acknowledged by the script/her colleagues.

The rest of the musical unfortunately continues to invalidate Grell’s gender further by turning her into the butt of a joke.

The mystery around which the plot of the musical is based has its setting in the Crystal Palace where a masquerade is held which only permits the attendance of adult men - if - one is accompanied by a woman.

With most of the main characters being male, the key to solving this problem became ‘crossdressing’.

Grell in this musical was given the role as ‘a professional at crossdressing’ by making her criticise Ciel’s crossdresssing, which was given some weight (more or less) by making her use jargon such as ‘Clothes Language’. Herewith, the scriptwrights put Grell’s transgender identity on the same level as simple ‘crossdressing’.

Sebastian: “男性は同伴者がいれば入場できる。私と坊ちゃんがペアを。グレルさんがアランさんとペア…” 

“Dansei wa douhansha ga ireba nyuujo dekiru. Watashi to bocchan ga pair wo. Grell-san ga Alan-san to pair…”

“As long as men have an escort they can enter [the party]. I and the Young Master will form a pair. *Grell-san and Mr. Alan will form a…”

*Please note how ‘san’ in Japanese is entirely gender neutral.

Then Alan makes his entrance in a dress despite this not being Sebastian’s original plan. Grell is absolutely enraged, and challenges Alan as follows:

“なんでアンタまで女装する必要あるのヨ?”

“Nande anta made josou suru hitsuyou aru no yo?”

“Why do even you need to cross-dress as a woman?”

By saying this, Grell sends two messages: 1. that Alan does not acknowledge her femaleness as sufficient to get Alan through the security’s screening, and 2. herewith the script equates Grell’s dress to Alan’s Crossdress.

Then, Alan explains why he has resorted to crossdressing.

Alan: “俺  エリックと話さなければ　そのためなら…どんな屈辱でも甘んじてうけてみせる！”

“Ore, Eric to hanasanakereba. Sono tame nara… donna kutsujoku demo amanjite ukete miseru!”

“I need to speak to Eric. For that sake… I will resign myself to any humiliation!”

Grell: “だからそんな屈辱受ける必要ないわよ!”

“Dakara sonna kutsujoku ukeru hitsuyou nai wa yo!”

“But there is no need for you to endure that humiliation!”

In this way, even more blatantly, the script uses Alan to shame men for wearing dresses, and therewith indirectly, insult Grell.

Grell’s reply here reconfirms that what Alan said is right. By making her echo Alan’s opinion, the script effectively makes her agree that ‘a man wearing a dress is indeed a humiliation’.

Finally, Sebastian decides to put an end to this fight, and says:

Sebastian: “まぁ女性は何人いても良いでしょう。それに　グレルさんよりもお似合いですし。”

“Maa, josei wa nannin ite mo ii deshou. Sore ni, Grell-san yori mo oniai desu shi.”

“Well, it does not matter how many women there are. And moreover, [the crossdressing] suits [Alan] better than Grell-san.”

Sebastian’s contract terms that forbid him from lying give Sebastian’s words authority, and is used to make defining statements about the world of this musical.

Once Alan appears in a dress, Sebastian acknowledges how there is no such thing as ‘too many women’. Herewith, he effectively confirms how a man can be turned into a woman using a mere dress.

The purpose of the crossdressing was ‘to pass as woman’ to begin with, yes. But then, by having Sebastian say: “the crossdressing SUITS Alan better”, Sebastian invalidates Grell’s gender identity by reducing her to ‘a lesser crossdresser’ than Alan.

In conclusion, the entirety of the musical has turned men in dresses and transgender people into a joke that can be jabbed at for the sake of humorous conflict. Transgender characters as comic relief is not a problem; but the transgenderness AS a comic relief IS a problem. And by equating Grell’s dress - a woman’s dress - to Alan’s comical crossdress, Grell’s identity legitimacy is entirely invalidated.

Again, I am very aware that this musical is very dear to many people. But I beg you. Please do not wilfully unsee the problematic aspects. One can like the musical for what it is, namely a show with flaws that some people enjoy. Please do NOT defend the problems surrounding the gender politics in this musical. This musical is NOT a good transgender representation; it is representation-bait at best.
