hockey player!jeno who was so shocked when you pecked his lips right before a game. hockey player!jeno who was never so motivated to win a game ever in 23 years of his life. hockey player!jeno who can't stop thinking of your lips, even when his teammates are bumping him and patting him when they win a game.

the same hockey player!jeno stand by the entrence of the ice rink patiently, ready in his gear, and waiting for you. He's got his helmet in his hands, tapping a rhythm and whistling a soft tune, and he seems so nonchalant.

the audience is confused. shouldnt have the game started 20 minutes ago? what is going on? only a few people know what's wrong, and it's none other than Jeno's team themselves, and they still wonder to this day why Jeno can't just start a game without that stupid kiss from you.

Oh, but they don't know. They don't know how much power Jeno feels when he feels your lips on his, how secure and unyielding he feels, how he'd stop time and space just to wait for you.

Jeno doesn't realize how late he is. Frankly, he doesn't care. He doesnt notice until team captain Sicheng walks up to him, patting his back. "Come on man, can't you smooch her after the first quarter?"

Jeno simply shakes his head with a sorry smile, shrugging. "You don't get it,"

"I really don't."

Fortunately for Jeno, Sicheng is understanding. He's been in love, and knows how much a person could mean to another.

hockey player!jeno who continues waiting, even when his own coach comes and starts yapping his ear off. hockey player!jeno who makes the whole audience wait half an hour just for you.

hockey player!jeno who lights up the moment he sees you pull up in your roommates car, who grins at his fuming mad coach sheepishly, who meets you halfway to scoop you up in his arms in a warm hug.

"Jeno, what are you doing! Didn't the game start half an hour ago?" You mumble next to his ear, overwhelmed at his excitement to see you. Since when did he love you so much?

You don't know the things he would do for you. He'd wait for you, he'd make a whole stadium wait for you, he'd stop the whole world just to wait for you.

"Still waiting for my good luck kiss,"

"You absolute idiot! You waited all this time for a kiss?"

hockey player!jeno who nods, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. hockey player!jeno who cuts you off by placing both his gloved palms on your cheeks, bringing you in to kiss you sweetly. hockey player!jeno who grins as he pulls away, giving you once last peck on the forehead, before rushing into the stadium, past his coach, and to his team.

hockey player!jeno who wins the whole game easily, grinning up at you as you are baffled on the stadium seats.

all hockey player!jeno can think about is how much he still wants to kiss you!

I FINISHED A THING.

After over two months of trying and trying and failing and thinking I was broken, I finally have a completed fanfic to post.

It's a self-indulgent one and doesn't even feature a canon, (it's an OC x Reader--whaaaaat now) much less a popular ship, and I'd fall over with shock if it gets more than a handful of notes but OMG I'm just SO happy I finished a thing that I'm gonna treat myself to a nice dessert for lunch.

I truly know nothing about Candela Obscura aside from what was in the trailer. And I was instantly sold the moment Taliesin started talking. What the fuck is a Lightkeeper? Will he be a player or like a second GM?? I know I could probably research it if I wanted, but the thing is I don't. The amount of intrigue and ambience that's packed into barely 2 minutes is mesmerizing and I'm so excited to be completely in the dark for it. There is nothing like watching something new for the very first time with no other context aside from knowing that it looks cool as hell and holding a love for the people who made it.
