This is also why I am still here as somebody who doesn‘t really create anything here (only reblog & occasionally quip about sth I reblogged).

There is no actual ‚hustle’ culture. No one shoves a branded product in my face while talking quickly in an attention grabbing way about why that branded product is everything I will ever need. Nobody is trying to Make It Big and Be The Best Ever and get me to buy & like & subscribe.

While there are many (very annoying) ads on here, the commercialisation of social media hasn‘t taken hold of tumblr & wouldn‘t work here. The Tumblr format does not lend itself to large scale ‚business accounts‘ the way Instagram & Twitter do where a company can hire a funny social media manager to interact with comments & make weird ‚corporate humour‘ skits to promote their business to ‚the fellow youths‘. At the very least ads on here are clearly ‚labeled‘ as such & not hidden in a typical post format with a tiny ‚#ad‘ in a wall of #‘s.

i don’t know about you guys but the main reason i am still on tumblr in 2024 is BECAUSE it is the most cloutless least influential social media app out there and that is the experience i am after. absolutely none of this will ever translate into significant attention or real success in my life and that is so beautiful.
