The MBTI Legacy Challenge is inspired by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – a pseudoscientific self-report questionnaire that measures one’s preferences on four dimensions of personality type. The test attempts to assign a value to each of four categories: introversion or extraversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. One’s four-letter test result represents 1 of 16 possible types. The underlying assumption of MBTI is that each type has specific preferences in the way they interpret their experiences.

This legacy challenge is about diving deeper into the personalities of your sims beyond the limitations of the game. Each type’s preferences underpin their interests, needs, values, and motivation. And in exploring each generation, decisions are made with that particular personality in mind. There are no backstories; rather, there are detailed descriptions and curated lists of aspirations, traits, and careers that are deliberately left open-ended so you can create unique stories. There are also scenarios and prompts specific to each type that affect the lives of your sims in relation to their career, love life, and relationship with their children. No two MBTI Legacy Challenges will ever be the same. This challenge is for players who love structure but also love the freedom to be creative in their gameplay and storytelling.

Third time's the charm

So here I bring you another challenge made into infographics!! I present to you the Space Legacy Challenge by fantastic @simsandstrawberries!!! Her original challenge is color coded and I tried to reflect it in the colors BUT! Please do double check 'cause I'm not confident I did a good job there lol Hopefully you like it and give it a try 'cause I had lots of fun making this! Enjoy!

Drama In The Family: A Legacy Challenge

For a little bit of a preamble, if you'll allow me... About a year ago, Fae and I were talking about wanting legacies with more drama, so one thing led to another and we started writing our own. As the title suggests, the focus of the legacy challenge is on drama within families. We put a lot of thought and love into this, so I hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

The DITF legacy challenge currently has 7 generations, with a lot of pack integration. We might, in the future, add more gens as new packs come out or we have more ideas, but for now, we've got these seven.

The guidelines + first generation will be under the cut, but the rest you'll be able to see by going to:

Guidelines

Firstly and most importantly: have fun! The challenge guidelines are just that, they are not a strict rule set you absolutely must follow no matter what, feel free to change things around as you see fit. If it works for you, then it’s right. 

This challenge was created with all packs and some mods in mind to enhance gameplay, but do not let that stop you, adapt as needed.

Wanna cheat, feel free to cheat, who are we to stop you! (That said you miiight have more fun if you don’t — unless you absolutely need to) 

Some gens are meant to be played immediately after the one listed above it, but the overall order isn’t absolute and you’re welcome to change it around. The only hard rule is that the White Picket Fence MUST be the founding generation.

For each generation multiple traits, skills, careers and aspiration options will be presented to you. We recommend picking 2 or 3 of the suggested traits, and the third (or more, if you use the 5 traits mod) is up to you, and 3 or more skills. It’s also up to you which aspiration(s) you complete, as long as you complete at least one from the list! 

Reaching career level 10 is not required unless specified.

Each gen starts at the young adult life stage. 

Suggestions

Medium and long lifespans will offer more time and opportunities to fully experience all aspects of this legacy challenge, but if you prefer to play on short you are more than welcome to.

Utilize gameplay from L&D and Growing Together if you have them to give each generation more depth, like Wills, Bucket List, Heirlooms and Keepsake boxes.

If you have the Businesses & Hobbies expansion and like that kind of gameplay, you could use a Small Business in place of the career option to make it more immersive (ie. if the career is lawyer, you could make a law firm small business)

Generation One: White Picket Fence

You come from a very traditional household and always imagined yourself following the same path as your parents: marrying your high school sweetheart, having three kids together and living in the perfect white picket fence home. Unfortunately, things have not turned out that way so far – there was no childhood sweetheart and your apartment is far from perfect.  You start university, but you find yourself struggling to stay on track. You work odd jobs and part time to make ends meet while you try to figure it out. At this point in your life, you’re actually not sure if everything you’ve always dreamed of having is what you really wanted.

Career: Any 

Aspirations: Any

Traits (Pick 2-3): Hates Children, Self-Absorbed, Romantically Reserved (or Unflirty if you do not have the Lovestruck pack), Non-Committal, Lazy. 

Skills (Pick 3 or more): Charisma, Logic, Writing, Knitting, Pottery, 

Goals

Start in a small apartment or still living with your family. Cheat or use SNB bank mod to give your sim 2000 simoleons or less. 

Work odd jobs or part time until you get pregnant/get someone pregnant from a one night stand or short relationship.

Shotgun wedding! Marry the first sim you get pregnant with during the pregnancy. Bonus points: your spouse must have a conflicting trait with one or more of yours.

Once married, move into a fixer upper home and renovate as family funds grow, doing the nursery first of course. 

Start your career, you can’t keep up a family of three and a house on gig work after all.

At some point, have an affair with a coworker. 

Situations

College Cram: Finals are almost here and… you’re not prepared at all. Truth is, you’re beyond stressed and unsure if you’re cut out for this kind of thing.

Option A: You decide it’s worth pushing through and getting this done. You’re nearing the finish line, just one more semester, you can make it work, so you pull some all-nighters and ignore the looming dread, successfully getting your degree.

Option B: The struggle is too real and you can’t deny it anymore: college isn’t for you. Your parents are disappointed and you’re not sure what you’ll do about career prospects, but you just had to get out. You drop out of college and try a different path in life than the one you chose when you were 18.

The Affair: You’ve been seeing your coworker for some time now… and your spouse finds out.

Option A: Despite your mistake, your partner forgives you, and you both promise to work to mend this relationship, after all, the kids don’t deserve the difficulties of a divorce. Unfortunately, you remain unable to stay away from your coworker… so you get better at hiding it.

Option B: This is it, the end of the line. Your partner will never see past what you’ve done. Divorce is filed, it is not amicable, but it is fair, each one gets half, and custody is split evenly, with the kids spending equal time with each parent.

Extras/Optional

Live and bicker with a roommate while living in the apartment. 

Despite what the description implies, you don’t HAVE to go to uni and work at the same time. 

Also feel free to cheat for university if you’re not a fan of that kind of gameplay. 

Your spouse must have a conflicting trait with one or more of yours.

Your coworker must have great compatibility with you.  

Make your sims parents and siblings, if they’re still alive!

Have more than one kid, maybe even one with your lover?

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 206 (The Landgraab-Goth Affair)

Dawn Landgraab-Elderberry didn't like the bustle of San Myshuno. She was much happier on the ranch amid horses and hay bales than car horns and electric noise in the city. "Is she going to make us wait much longer? We've been sitting here so long, I think it's stopped raining."

"Nancy Landgraab is a busy woman, but she put off this meeting for months," said her new acquaintance, Mortimer Goth. "We came too far for answers and we can't leave until we've seen her."

"Answers you need!" she pressed. "I still don't know why I'm here."

Mortimer offered a warm smile. "To get answers for your children and the families they'll start soon enough. If the curse is real and they could be affected, don't you want to know everything you can to protect them?"

"Of course I do. But you came all the way out to Chestnut Ridge to tell me my Landgraab roots, which I've never even cared about, might have cursed me and my kids right before my daughter's wedding. My family is happy and thriving and curses sound fantastical, but now I can't sleep at night worrying if it might be true."

Mortimer frowned. "I'm sorry. I know they say ignorance is bliss, but you can help answer questions for the sake of everyone we love."

Dawn had been born an only child to a single mother, named Mimi. According to the obituary found by Mortimer's Goth-side cousin, Raina, Mimi was the daughter of one Theresa Landgraab. Whether she was descended from the same Theresa Landgraab born to Lady Ravendancer Goth and Malcolm "Admiral" Landgraab was the question they hoped Landgraab Corp.'s CEO could help them answer.

Mortimer knew it was a long shot, which was why he'd pressed Dawn to join him in the first place. If Nancy knew another Landgraab was sniffing around her family, he hoped she'd be less likely to ignore it.

After weeks of rescheduling, his plan finally worked. With the sun setting over San Myshuno's glass and concrete Fashion District, Mortimer and Dawn were called upstairs to Nancy's office.

The CEO rose to greet them when they walked in the room, motioning them to seat themselves as she quickly returned to her computer screen. "Just a minute," she said stiffly. "Important email. Can't wait."

Dawn rolled her eyes at the powerful CEO. "You made us wait in the lobby all afternoon and you called us in," she sniffed.

Nancy eyed the fiery redhead with a discerning glare. "This email just came in, Mrs. Elderberry. I can't be held responsible when important people want a piece of my time. A CEO with a company as big as mine needs to prioritize. Will you be removing your sunglasses, Mr. Goth?"

"I had cataract surgery earlier this week and the white concrete here is hard on the eyes, so if you don't mind..."

Nancy nodded curtly to extend her permission. Mortimer sat forward with a charming smile, hoping to steer the conversation without getting derailed by Landgraab spite on either side of the fancy white desk. He glanced at the furnishings - comic posters on the walls, a model rocket and action figures from modern fantasy epics, and he turned back to Nancy with a smile.

"I didn't expect your office to be decorated quite so..."

"This was my husband's old office. My grandson - I believe you know him well - made the rocket. I enjoy working in here, but when I have important meetings I hold them in the boardroom or over drinks at the Starlight Lounge."

Dawn raised an eyebrow at the snide way Nancy landed yet another insult. "We didn't have to come here," she pointed out with a snarl. "But if our family name is cursed, you should know it makes you a-"

"What my friend Dawn means to say..." Mortimer laughed awkwardly, cutting her off. "Is that we've learned some things about our shared ancestry recently, and we hoped you might be able to fill in some blanks for the sake of people all of us care about - our children, grandchildren, great-nephews..."

"Our shared ancestry? Between the Landgraabs and Goths? Don't be ridiculous."

"You must be curious how Dawn ended up with the Landgraab name."

Nancy shrugged. "The Landgraab name goes back centuries. Why would it interest me? I don't seek out anyone named Landgrabb or Landegraab, either."

"When it comes right down to it, there are too few Landgraabs left in the world. Your family and Dawn's family and maybe a few others I haven't found. I'm familiar with an old legend about a pirate queen who enacted a mermaid's curse against the Landgraabs, and I worry for those we care about that the curse is more than a story."

Nancy Landgraab shook with laughter. "Please," she begged. "My family has more money than just about anyone in the world. We run practically everything and we'll always be on top. How could we be cursed?"

Mortimer tread carefully, hopeful not to offend her. "It's small things. The family's reputation, picking battles with small-town business owners and lobbying against workers' rights or minimum wage increases. It's tragedies befalling your loved ones. Some think the curse might actually be a curse against the Landgraabs ever knowing true happiness, but it was said to be laid so long ago, no one quite remembers. But I think the curse might've killed Dawn's and my great-grandmother, Lady Victorine Ravendancer Goth."

Dawn and Mortimer both noticed something flicker in Nancy's steely gaze at the mention of Lady Ravendancer. "What would a famous spellcaster have to do with the Landgraabs?"

"We found a letter from Lady Ravendancer to a daughter, Theresa Landgraab. We believe her father was your great-grandfather, Admiral Landgraab. Thanks to the time traveler, Emit Relevart, we have eyewitness accounts of the two of them together romantically."

Nancy eyed Dawn suspiciously. "You have my great-grandfather's red hair, but you don't look like a Landgraab. Why have you really come here?"

"My daughter, Neve. She just got married and she's planning to have children with her husband, Terrell. She asked me before the wedding what I knew of our family background, and I couldn't tell her anything. My mother never really talked about my grandmother, and we knew nothing about our Landgraab roots. When Mortimer showed up at the ranch and suggested coming here to talk to you, I thought at least I could tell Neve I tried."

"We know about you." Nancy pursed her lips. "We've always known. We know about your ranch and we know you want nothing to do with the Landgraabs. You're content to play with horses in the desert, which is not incidentally something our great-grandfather would have done, so we left you alone because of it."

"So it's true?" Mortimer pressed. "Lady Ravendancer and Admiral Landgraab had a love child, and Dawn is our second cousin?"

Nancy shrugged. "You've already learned so much, and it was so long ago. They had two love children - Theresa and another one who was much better hidden. We still don't know who they were, but we know they survived because my great-grandfather helped hide them away."

"From who?"

"From everyone. Lady Ravendancer and Admiral Landgraab's relationship was a scandal because they were both married to other people. But mostly, he hid them from my great-grandmother, his wife Muriel Landgraab."

Mortimer chuckled. "The infamous 'Mom.'"

Nancy nodded. "Meanest Old Ma'am in the West."

Mortimer grinned. So many missing pieces of his family's history were suddenly falling into place. "Why are you telling us this?"

"You have enough evidence I can't lie to you, can I? Besides, what does it really matter? If Theresa's sibling survived, their descendants don't want to be found. We've looked, and so have you. But with how much you've already discovered on your own, your need for this information for your family tree could benefit all of us if you're able to find the other branch. You can write any story you like about the past. At this point it's just gossip. Half the world still thinks Emit Relevart was a cosplaying fraud; they'll never believe the testimony of a time traveler."

"How do you know all this?"

"My great-grandfather told his son, Kermit, who told his son, Chester, and my father told me. We had to keep an eye on the family line, so we kept tabs on Theresa, then Mimi, then Dawn, and now Neve and Neil and their partners."

"You can stop that right now," Dawn ordered. "My children are fine."

"We can't and we won't stop, Mrs. Elderberry. Billions of dollars are at stake."

"Money is poison," said Dawn. "I'm sorry you lost your husband, Mrs. Landgraab, but you leave a lot to be desired, to say the least. I don't want my family to have anything to do with you or your billions. I left the Landgraab name behind when I got married, and I'd do it over and over again now that I've met you. All that money is your curse, not mine."

"You're more Landgraab than you think, Mrs. Elderberry. I'd be impressed if you weren't shouting at me for giving you the answers you came all this way for. I don't believe in any curse, but now you know the truth. And you know enough to stay away."

"Okay, enough," said Mortimer. "We got more than what we came for."

But fiery dawn wasn't done. "If I catch any of your corporate goons sniffing around the ranch or either of my kids, I'll go find another mermaid to place another curse, if I have to."

"It's alright, Dawn. If she was going to do anything, she'd have done it already. Nancy Landgraab wouldn't have waited this long. Trust me."

"Act like you know me all you like, Mr. Goth," Nancy crowed. "We may care about a few of the same people, but this is easily the longest conversation we've ever had."

The office door swung open as Mortimer left the room, passing a bewildered Ash in the hallway. "Hey, Great-uncle Mortimer! What are you doing here?"

"Ask your grandmother. Dawn and I were just leaving."

"Who's Dawn?"

The redhead angrily followed Mortimer from the room before Ash walked inside. "Sorry I'm late. I took Bridgette back home before coming to the office and the trains were delayed."

Nancy shook off the heated encounter with a welcoming smile for her grandson, even taking the time to turn off her computer screen to give him her full attention. "Ash, sweetheart, you're not late. You're right on time. I was just about to approve budgets for the next fiscal, and I know how much you love numbers."

Ash shifted uncomfortably. "Sounds fun, but...why were you and Uncle Mortimer talking about the curse?"

"What do you mean 'the curse'?"

"I mean the Landgraab curse my mom told me about, that she heard from Uncle Mortimer."

"They told you?"

"Yeah, my mom did not that long ago. I didn't believe her, but if you're talking about it..."

"I don't believe it, either. Look at our lives, sweetheart. We have everything we'll ever need and we never run out. Our lives, and the lives of everyone we touch, are better because of us."

"Is that really true?"

Nancy smiled, joining her grandson on the other side of the desk. "The first thing you need to know about being CEO of the largest company in the world is that succeeding is about confidence. Your skills speak for themselves because you're a genius like so many of your Landgraab ancestors. Knowing your skills set you apart, and walking around like you know it? That's how Landgraab Corp. is so successful."

Ash listened carefully to his grandmother, but as she launched into spreadsheets his mind drifted to the mermaid's curse. Tomorrow his family left for Sulani, and now he had more questions than ever. ->

Gen 1 Start | Gen 1 Summary

Huge credit to @berrysims-lp who sent me Dawn for this crossover. I loved how feisty she was with Nancy when Nancy got feisty herself. We started planning this together last fall before Lady Ravendancer even became canon and showed up in Life & Death. We're finally seeing it through, and though Dawn seems dismissive of the curse and the Landgraabs, her motivation to protect her kids may just draw her back in to this mess.

WCIF Landgraab Corp office building: @berrysims-lp also gets credit for finding the awesome office build (by blueceai on the Sims 4 Gallery) that served as the set for Nancy's office. The basement lab scenes with Emit and Jonathan Banks from Wednesday's Pleasant/not-so-pleasant catch up were also filmed using this lot. I highly recommend it if you need an office building in San Myshuno, but I started filming before I realized just how much the boss' office doesn't suit Nancy's aesthetic (the original lot is supposed to be VoidCorp HQ). It does suit epic fantasy-loving Geoffrey, though, so I had a sentimental excuse!

10 Generations. 10 Different Heroines. 1 Legacy. Welcome to the Literary Heroine Legacy Challenge! I’ve been itching for a good legacy to revive my love for the Sims 4, and I haven’t found one so I wrote one myself.  I was inspired after reading Emma— the family dynamics, drama, and romance were everything I ever wanted in a Sims challenge. So I modernized the stories and adapted them to fit this game.  Special shoutout to Designergirl81, who I met through MissLollypopSims’ Discord! The generations of Anne of Avonlea and Dorothy were their brainchildren. 💗 I designed each generation to reference a famous literary heroine. This is a very story-oriented challenge but feel free to bend, tweak, and change as much as you can! Basic Rules

Play on any life span you want but I recommend playing on Normal life span.

You are encouraged to play with female heirs. Of course, this is optional!

You are discouraged from using money cheats. Some generations have stories that are related to their social class— so try to stay true to the story as much as you can.

You can live wherever you want unless the generation states otherwise.

Feel free to customize each generation’s race and sexual orientation

Unless specifically stated, each generation has to finish their aspiration and career.

Even if most of these books are classics, I wrote this with a more modern take on it. You don’t need any mods or CC to fit the eras’ aesthetics— but if you want to, you totally can!

Generation 1: Elizabeth Bennett 📚 Do not consider me now as an elegant female, intending to play you, but as a rational creature, speaking the truth from her heart. 📚

It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that all Sims 4 challenges must start with an heir. In this case, that’s you, which is surprising because everyone else in your life has decided that you are plain, especially when compared to your other two sisters. Lately though, you start to sense that you’ve been getting more attention from your neighbors. One particular Sim hasn’t been able to leave you and your family alone… and you don’t like them at all, not one bit. Well… maybe just a bit.

Aspiration: Successful Lineage 

Traits: Family Oriented, Hot-Headed, Bookworm OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Journalist

→ Master the Writing skill. → Live in a rundown family home passed down by your parents with two sisters until you are married. → Have a negative relationship with a neighbor. → Reject a proposal from your work boyfriend. → Build a relationship with your neighbor after you reject the proposal of your ex. → Have a scandal involving one of your sisters that your neighbor supports you through. → Fall in love and marry this neighbor then move in with him. → Have two children.

Generation 2: Emma Woodhouse 💗  It is very difficult for the prosperous to be humble.  💗

Growing up, you were always the sheltered one. Your father was very protective of you, and therefore never let you out of his sight. Of course, that didn’t stop you from becoming well-loved by the entire town. You were known for throwing the best dinner parties and befriending everyone your father and mother knew. Needless to say, this got to your head a bit. You weren’t arrogant, you were confident. In everyone’s eyes, you could do no wrong. Well, everyone except your childhood best friend— who was never afraid to call you out for being a bit clueless at times. 

Aspiration: Neighborhood Confidante OR Party Animal

Traits: Self-Assured, High Maintenance, Music-Lover OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Romance Consultant or Lawyer

→ Master the Charisma and Piano skills. → Host at least 5 gold-star dinners. → Have a childhood best friend who’s a bit older than you. For example: When you’re 17 (end of teenage years), they’re already 20 (start of young adult years). * → You can’t have good friends who are your age until your childhood best friend ages up into a young adult. → Make a new friend that you treat like a “project” until you two fall out. Choose if you two will reconcile in the future. → Profess your love to your childhood best friend during a heated argument. → Marry your best friend and live with your mother and father in your childhood home until your parents die. Have one child. *It goes without saying to only get with your childhood best friend when the two sims are both young adults 🙂 No super uncomfortable age gaps, please.

Generation 3: Scarlett O’Hara ✨ “Tomorrow, I’ll think of some way to get him back.” ✨ All your life, you grew up spoiled. Your mother and father were so in love, and you almost expected to have a story as romantic and easy as theirs. However, when your high school flame elopes quickly with someone else right after graduation, you start to spiral. No longer able to get things your way, you begin to self-sabotage and jump from relationship to relationship. Deep down you know you should stop and smarten up but frankly, my dear, you don’t give a damn.

Aspiration: Soulmate— you fail this 

Traits: Materialistic, Genius, Jealous OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: None until your divorce then become a Manual Laborer + Barista

⭐ Recommended Mods: Healthcare Redux Mod, Extreme Violence Mod

→ Don’t master any skill. → Have a high school flame who elopes with someone else. → Elope immediately with someone else. Have them die tragically.* → Marry another person quickly who you have bad compatibility with. Get negative romance with them right before they pass.* → Marry a third time. Have them catch you in a compromising moment with your high school flame, which leads to a divorce that leaves you with nothing. → End up working two part time jobs to keep your household running. → Have 4 kids with your 3 husbands (you can cheat for twins, if you want). *You decide how they die. I recommended having mods like the Healthcare Redux and Extreme Violence in your game for realistic roleplay reasons— but if he gets tragically eaten by a Cowplant that works too! 🙂

Generation 4: Jo March 🧾 “When the first soreness was over, she could laugh at her poor little book, yet believe in it still, and feel herself the wiser and stronger for the buffeting she had received.” 🧾 Growing up was not easy for you. Your childhood was incredibly unpredictable with your mother jumping from relationship-to-relationship. And when things started to stabilize emotionally, you ended up in poverty.  Luckily, you had your siblings to cling to, and a passion for writing that’s unmatched. You wrote a ton of things across different genres, except for romance which you didn’t quite understand. In fact, everyone always expected you to be a little woman, not rough or wild, but you knew in your heart that’s not what you were destined to become.

Aspiration: Best-Selling Author

Traits: Creative, Unflirty, and Ambitious OR choose/roll for the last trait

Career: Author

⭐ Recommended Mods: Writing Career Overhaul, SNB Banking

→ Master the Writing and Logic skills. → Be best friends with all of your siblings. → Start selling short stories as a teenager to help pay the bills. → Get a best friend in high school who professes their love to you during graduation. Turn them down. Optional: Have them marry one of your other siblings. → Move away to the city to focus on your writing. Always send 30% of your income to your mother until she dies. → Due to a tragedy in the family, adopt a child of one of your siblings.* → Win a Starlight Accolade for one of your novels. → Never marry but live a fulfilling life. *They are to be the next heir to preserve the bloodline. You can adopt more if you want.

Because of this, you gained a bunch of friends who loved you very deeply. With their support, you grew up as a well-known detective who can solve any case.  It was a fun life, but you eventually settled down in Henford-On-Bagley to have a family of your own.

And finally, for your first love, a man who refused to propose to you, no matter how long you waited for him to. Eventually you grew tired waiting and decided to grow up. You married a sensible man, had a child, and gave up your dreams of becoming an actress. Still, you held on to the dreams of your first love and end up reconnecting in a night of passion that leaves you pregnant with his child. Realizing that he’ll never grow up, you decide to dedicate your life to your family and husband.

After moving out as a young adult, you fell in love with cooking and mixology. You also met a group of misfits who were as different as you. Every Sunday, you’d host special “tea” parties with them, that broadened your worldview and made you realize that the world gets curiouser and curiouser with each passing day.

You appreciated your mother’s lifestyle. You saw the world for what it could become, and not what everyone wanted it to be. However, you worried about your younger sister. You saw her innocence and wanted to protect it. When you turned into a young adult, you moved away and took your sister with you to start anew. However, life was not always easy. Straight out of teenhood, you married someone from a different city and had a tumultuous relationship with him. You separate with him and continue to care for your sister. You’re able to provide for her through your paintings, which also brought you a lot of fame. When she grew up into a Young Adult, she formed an attachment with a man that… intrigued you. She married him. This kept him in your life, but made it difficult for you to ignore your feelings. One night, you find yourself alone together, and you must make a choice: stay with him and break your sister's heart, or leave forever to give them peace. You have a price to pay either way— we can't behave like people in novels without consequence, can we?

Did I make a legacy challenge based on Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour? Yes, I did.

The overall guidelines are pretty loose. There’s a lot to accomplish each generation, but I tried to make it so there is plenty of room for freedom too. And if you’re not feeling an aspiration or have a career you’ve been meaning to try - go ahead and switch it up if it makes sense for you!

Go wild with mods and lifespans, etc etc. Feel free to make this your own (just don’t repost this as your own, yah feel?).

as i was looking for legacy challenges that were being updated as new packs came out, i had the thought "hey, why not just write one myself?" so here we are! i'll do by best to add new generations as time goes on, but seeing as this already has 37 (!!) generations, i think we'll be okay for a bit.

a few notes:

this challenge incorporates mods. i tried to include options for players who do not use gameplay mods, but some generations are built around them.

this challenge uses (almost) all packs. some generations are based off specific packs though, so you could pick and choose which gens you want to do.

this challenge has story aspects. there's a lot of room for you to come up with a story yourself each generation, so have fun with it!

some generations are longer and more involved than others! this is meant to give you a bit of a break and provide variety between generations.

🎶✨ Welcome to Mixtape Generations: The Legacy Challenge! ✨🎶

I'm so excited to share this legacy challenge I've been working on! Welcome to the Mixtape Generations. This legacy challenge encompasses all of my favourite gameplay objectives which I wanted to share with the Sims community! They may be ones you love too or ones you don't normally play.

This challenge is based upon Vibes & Fame. Each generation is a Mixtape, a genre with a story and a completely different vibe. The idea is that each generations sim, persona, styles and attitude is in the vibe of the Mixtape Genre.

Each Mixtape Generation has their traits, career, aspiration, relationship, babies and fame requirements. Then come the Rules. There are the Rules and then the Hidden Tracks which are rules that make the game trickier, weirder, wackier or more exciting.

I've created 10 visual graphics of the Mixtape Generations but here is a link for the text post which has more detailed storylines and information.

I'm also going to make Sims for each generation that will be available in the gallery or in a Patreon Collection.

Color Theory Legacy Challenge

Do you like color? Do you like legacy challenges that switch things up each generation? Do you like family cozy gameplay AND spicy dramatic gameplay?

Well, then this is the legacy challenge for you! Inspired by classic legacy challenges like the Not So Berry Challenge by @lilsimsie and @alwaysimming and Such Colorful Lives by @thepanplumbob, this legacy challenge is a ten generation legacy challenge where each generation's goals and personality are based on the color theory of their assigned color!

General Rules: 1. Normal Lifespan recommended 2. Each Heir must represent the color of their generation BUT Berry sims are not required (Though feel free to use them if you want!) 3. Keep money cheats to a minimum! 4. Each heir must complete their required Careers and Aspirations unless specifically stated otherwise 5. Each heir can be any of the previous heir's children, no matter the birth order, unless specifically stated otherwise

Generation One: White - The Beginning White symbolizes innocence, purity, and beginnings... People call you innocent… naive… But that’s not really the case. You know exactly how cruel the world can be so you strive to make it a better place. You pour yourself into your career and your children and your marriage, determined to spend your life helping others and to raise children that help others, too.Your house is always sparklingly clean and there’s always a hot meal on the table and an extra bed (or sleeping bag or couch) for sims who need it.

Traits: Good, Generous, Neat

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Career: Doctor

Gain and Maintain a Pristine Reputation 

Master Charisma and Cooking Skills

Reach at least Level Five of the Baking Skill

Generation Two: Pink - The Romantic Nurturer Pink symbolizes love, compassion, and nurturing. You just love love! Your parents had an idyllic romance that taught you what love was supposed to look like. And you want everyone to have that kind of love! Including yourself! The problem is you just can't seem to decide which sim owns your heart! You have a couple lovers as a teen before finally settling down with your soulmate and raising a family together. 

Traits: Perfectionist, Lovebug, Family Oriented

Aspiration: Paragon Partner (teen), Big Happy Family (adult)

Career: Romantic Consultant (either branch)

Other Requirements:

Master Parenting and Romance Skills

Reach at least Level Five of the Charisma Skill

Spoil your kids rotten (Rarely use the Punish option when correcting them)

Stay Soulmates with your spouse and go on one date a week

Optional: Have a love triangle as a teen

Generation Three: Red - The Passionate Actor Red symbolizes passion. You are a very passionate person, you always have been, but you’ve never cared for being kind. Not like your parent. You’re more of a hot-head, and tell it like it is. This means you make a lot of enemies. Who cares about Enemies when you have lovers? But none of those lovers are good enough for you, so you hop from one to the next, leaving a trail of broken hearts (and maybe one or two affair babies). For all your romantic exploits, your true love is the stage. You want to see your name up in lights!

Traits: Hot-Headed, Mean, Romantic

Aspiration: Villainous Valentine

Career: Actor

Other Requirements:

Master Romance, and Acting Skills

Reach at least Level Five of the Mischief Skill

Have more Enemies than Friends

Have three kids, all with different married sims.

Have a negative relationship with all your kids

Become a 5 Star Celebrity

Optional: Interact with your kids as little as possible, have them raised by a sibling, grandparent, or nanny

Generation Four: Brown - The Steadfast Farmer Brown is the color of strength and reliability. You’ve never gotten on too well with your parents. Neither of them were ever really around, so as the oldest, you sort of ended up as your younger siblings’ default parent. Of course, your grandparents did what they could to help, but they had their own lives. So, when you could, you found solace in animals. Animals aren’t like people, they don’t hurt you on purpose.  When you’re finally old enough, you take your younger siblings and ditch your parents, moving to the countryside to finally have some peace. There, you build up a farm, with livestock and horses, and, of course, a family that actually loves each other.

Traits: Animal Enthusiast, Rancher, Loyal

Aspiration: Country Caretaker

Career: None, make money off your crops, livestock, and nectar

Other Requirements:

MUST be the eldest child of the Red generation

Master Horse Riding, Gardening, and Nectar Making skills

Own at least one pet (horses, dogs, or cats, it's up to you) at any given time

Own A Ranch or Farm with Chickens, Goats or Sheep, and Cows or Llamas

Once you reach Young Adulthood, run away from home with your younger siblings and raise them on your own.

Optional: do a Rags to Riches Challenge with this generation

Generation Five: Orange - The Childish Adventurer Orange symbolizes adventure and youthful passion. Okay, so you’re a bit of an oddball. Who cares? You delight in being unabashedly yourself! Your family was close knit, not just your parents and siblings, but your pets, cousins, and aunts and uncles as well, and they never tried to dull your sparkle. But the countryside, for all of its bucolic beauty, just doesn’t satisfy your love of adventure, so shortly after your adult birthday, you kiss your family goodbye and set off to see the world.

Traits: Adventurous, Cringe, Childish

Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast

Career: Athlete

Other Requirements:

Master Fitness and Rock Climbing Skills

Reach at least Level Five of the Skiing or Snowboarding skills

Generation Six: Yellow - The Paranoid Techie Yellow symbolizes cheerfulness and happiness, but also cowardice or fear. You’ve always been a little… cautious. You’re not adventurous like your parent, choosing instead to be a homebody. Social stuff and trying new things are just a bit too daunting for you. So, you find your outlets in tech and video games instead. The people in those circles don’t seem to care as much about your awkwardness.  And there, among zeros and ones and other geeks, you finally blossom, transforming into a sunny, bright person. You’ll never be especially social, but your small circle is enough for you.

Traits: Paranoid, Socially Awkward, Cheerful

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Career: Tech Guru

Generation Seven: Green - The Eco-Conscious Hippie Green symbolizes nature and vitality but also jealousy. You never quite fit in with your family members. While your parents and sibling all had a similar passion for technology, yours is a bit more nature focused. In fact, you're a bit of a hippie. There's no shame in that!  As soon as you're old enough, you leave the smog and traffic of the city behind and move to Evergreen Harbor, hoping to live a greener life, only to come face to face with a community in sore need of a clean up.  You've never been one to back down from a challenge so you roll up your sleeves and get to work. Unfortunately, you spend so much time on your projects that you don't have time for love… until one day you notice everyone else seems to have gotten married and had kids, leaving you behind! Will you ever find the love you desire before it's too late?

Traits: Recycle Disciple, Freegan, Jealous.

Aspiration: Master Maker

Career: Freelance Crafter

Generation Eight: Blue - The Ocean-Loving Artist Blue symbolizes inspiration and creativity. You’ve always been a bit of a gloomy sim. Maybe that’s because Evergreen Harbor doesn’t have much scope for the imagination. It’s nice that the town is all cleaned up thanks to your parent, but you often find yourself at the docks, staring at the sea. Here, it’s gray and green and not much else. While you find the colors you love in the gems you collect and shape, you find yourself wishing you could see those colors in your beloved ocean. So, as soon as you’re able, you make your way to Sulani. But once there, you discover that the islands are in a sorry state. You’ve learned a thing or two about helping the environment from your parents, so you roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Traits: Creative, Gloomy, Child of the Ocean

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

Career: Conservationist

You wouldn’t call yourself a mad scientist, in fact, you’re very sane. It’s not your fault people don’t appreciate your genius!

And you’ve always felt Death hovering at your side but maybe he’s not the enemy you thought he was…

A loose storyline ties each generation to the next, giving you direction while still being open enough for your creativity and play-style to shine.

oh hi there! i haven't posted here in a while, but i just watched the barbie movie a few days ago and needless to say, it is now my entire personality. so here's my first ever legacy challenge based on barbie's many, many careers and achievements!
