᯽ Summarized Background ᯽
Sumine led a modest life with her family until tragedy struck with the deaths of her parents. Despite her inability to master star breathing like her father, she found solace as a miko. When she encountered Hantengu, a demon, she unknowingly sheltered him and formed a bond with him and his clones, unaware of his true nature as an Upper Moon demon. Her close relationship with Urogi, one of Hantengu's clones, blossomed into romance. However, her secret was discovered, leading to her tragic demise at the hands of samurai, shortly after her 21st birthday.
☁︎ Voice Claims:
☁︎ Older Art:
➛ I first drew her in 2021, and she had a completely different backstory. She was supposed to be Haganezuka's daughter (age 18), but I still shipped her with Urogi at the time. I once again have to screenshot old art of her from my instagram archive because I lost all my old art on ibisPaint 💔
➛ I might utilize her old design for a different oc because I kinda fw her outfit
➛ ewww old art!!
☁︎ More drawings!!
➛ In my story, Urogi and Hoshiko never actually meet. I just thought it'd be funny to draw their interaction :3 Hoshiko really hates demons
➛ Also sharing old drawings I did of Urogi x Sumine from last year because I never felt like finishing these pieces. I will make newer ones trust 🙏
Being a hard core fan makes life easier sometimes. Yesterday as I was facing indecision about what groceries to buy and what to make for dinner, I was feeling more and more blank and overwhelmed until I remembered, "There's a Himejima episode coming up. Takikomi gohan it is!!"
“Welcome back Master Tokito. I'm happy to see the mission was successful.” He looked over to see someone standing by his entrance, bowing their head. He simply nodded and continued walking towards his bedroom, longing for sleep.
Lavender…The subtle scent came off of her as she made her way to the kitchen, presumably to cook something, he didn't really care.
°°°
He really should have taken more notice of her scent the first time, because suddenly, it was everywhere. Not in a weird way, he just happened to notice there was a small lavender plant in the kitchen that she tended to, one appeared in his garden, she had the smallest piece pinned in her hair.
“Why do you wear that?”
“Peace and tranquility.” Was all she replied. He didn't press farther, but before he left on his next mission, he stared at the plant in his garden for a long moment.
If I take too much I won't be able to see. If I don't take enough I won't be able to smell it. Suddenly she was at his side with a small pair of scissors. Snip. Now he had a piece for himself, though she pinned it inside of his haori.
“Peace and tranquility.” Was all she whispered to him. She gave him a small smile before turning back towards the mansion.
°°°
Why am I sleeping..? Lavender… He thought to himself as he turned his head, searching where the scent was stronger. He tried opening his eyes, moving his hands, searching for the piece that was given to him to keep safe.
Someone, or thing grabbed his hand.
He sat up with a scream, pulling them almost on top of him as he quickly searched for the threat, his body screaming in protest.
“Muichiro.” Was all she said and he stopped, the adrenaline and fear leaving his body as quickly as they had come as she pushed him to lay back down on the bed. She began double checking bandages as she started to speak.
“You were wounded in battle, you need to rest. Your haori and your keepsake were both unfortunately damaged, so I brought fresh lavender to keep at your bedside.” He stared at the small piece clipped delicately in her hair as she spoke, forcing himself to keep his eyes open but being unable to speak. She gave him a small sigh and smile as she unclipped it and placed it in his hand as his eyes closed.
She was his head nurse after that. Changing bandages and sheets, washing them to ensure there was no contamination.
No infection.
As his strength grew, she helped him up and around. She was proud on the day he walked out of his bedroom on his own.
°°°
He then let her comb his hair, and be scolded by her. A surprise to both of them.
Almost.
He had been working to rebuild his strength and training daily after his injuries had mostly healed. Though, in her eyes he had pushed it too far one day. She had made a brilliant spread one day and he didn't stop to take a single break. When he stepped into his house that night, seeing her face, he felt strange…sad, maybe?
“Where have you been? You're a mess.” She said in a monotone, not looking at him as she cleaned up the now cold takikomi, tempura and rice balls. The desserts were handled by the other aids (who were eating them in the other room as quietly as possible).
“Training.” He responded a bit hesitant as he watched her clean. He was slightly confused. She hasn't spoken to him this way before, but he wasn't too bothered. He began walking to his room but she stopped him again.
“Hold it. I made all this food for you to help you. You did not stop to eat once, and now no appreciation.” He turned, mildly surprised.
“You're my aid. You merely-”
“I don't have to be.” Those words hung in the air for a long moment as Muichiro realized she was right, slowly realizing what he had. Any other hashira would enjoy her meals, her care, her cleanliness…her.
She stood with her hands on her hips as she spoke again.
“From now on you will respect my cooking and your body when it's healing by coming to eat what I make for you at proper mealtimes.” He nods without speaking and she relaxes with a small smile, walking towards him.
“Let's go comb your hair, it really is a mess.” She says to him quietly as she begins walking towards his room. He followed, still silent as he was reeling from the aftershocks.
He sat in front of his mirror, and she sat behind him, reaching around to grab the comb from his small end table before gently beginning to work her way through the tangles. She was right, his long hair was a mess, but she was patient as he simply stared, his mouth slightly agape. When she began to hum, Muichiro found himself dozing off and he awoke with his head in her lap, her head on the bed.
Well, Takikomi had fun with these worlds! The kind-of-mirrored nature of these new worlds is great, even if i might have some trouble getting there due to Lamplit Factory’s chasers. Well, without any more fanfare! Once more unto the new worlds!
As always, all names in brackets are placeholder names I’ve come up with in order to more easily differentiate these worlds!
(Broken Shell Scenery)
Accessed after seeing the event in the last room of Lamplit Factory.
This world is a linear path that presents a background mainly comprised of vaguely mountain-shaped scribbles. As you follow along the path, you will find a little clover on the ground blocking your way.
You have now two options: you can either chainsaw the shamrock, which will tinge the screen red and take you to (Hell)...
...or you can simply bypass it using the fairy effect.
This allows you to continue on the path, with the background slowly shifting to a gradient and then to full blue, when it starts raining.
At the very end is a small octopus that will take you to (Cold Shoal) when interacted with.
(Hell)
Accessed from either chainsawing the clover in (Broken Shell Scenery) or the ladder in (Fiery Cave).
The first time I went through this slew of new maps, I took the Chainsaw route because.... I didn’t know better. So in this post we’ll also be following that path! You appear laying down, and as you stand up you’ll see black figures being burnt to a crisp all around you. Investigating a bit through this small world, you may encounter a cauldron with a line of charred people in front of it.
There is a small cave entrance somewhere in the map, with a sign next to the door.
Inside, a black bear is fishing in a pool of boiling liquid. Will he ever catch anything?
Keep in mind the blocked-off exit for later! Anyways, somewhat southeast(?) of this cave is a cone-house not unlike Poniko’s house in the original Yume Nikki.
Entering it will lead you to the (Fiery Caves).
(Fiery Caves)
Accessed through either the cone house in (Hell) or the northern ladder in (Rainy Shoal Maze).
Not much to say about this area seeing as it’s a straight-forward path with little else to see! Just a reddish-brown colored cave. South of this entrance, at the very end, is another ladder leading to (Rainy Shoal Maze).
(Rainy Shoal Maze)
Accessed through the ladders in (Fiery Caves) and (Frigid Caves).
A world with a calm bgm and constant rain. The only thing of note, apart from the ladders, is a rabbit NPC that vanishes when touched.
The path to get to the (Frigid Caves) exit is, from the (Fiery Caves) entrance: left at the first intersection, then take the bottom right path, then take the bottom right path that branches off into two. You can see the ladder from here!
This ladder takes you to (Frigid Caves).
(Frigid Caves)
Accessed from the ladders in either (Cold Shoal) or (Rainy Shoal Maze).
As with (Fiery Caves), this straight-forward path has nothing of interest. The northern ladder takes you to (Cold Shoal).
(Cold Shoal)
Accessed through either the red octopus in (Broken Shell Scenery) or the upper ladder in (Frigid Caves).
If you have entered from the red octopus, you will appear instead here:
This world is a tranquil world populated by red octopi akin to the one used to get here from (Broken Shell Scenery) and fish people, set in direct opposition to (Hell).
Going slightly southwest from the ladder and slightly east from the octopus, you’ll find a cave identical to the one in (Hell) that housed a black bear.
This time, it sseems to be the dwellings of a polar bear. It can be found fishing, but if you leave the world and re-enter, there’s a chance it’s sleeping instead.
If this is the case, you can use the fishing rod to fish out a rather angry red fish person that will... slap you? Rude!
Exiting the room and interacting with them will net you Menu Theme #56. A decent apology gift, I suppose!
Going back to the polar bear cave, you’ll notice the cone blockign the entrance is now gone (if not, just reenter the world... or visit the bear cave in (Hell) if you haven’t already). It leads you to a small room with a purple cone in it.
Interacting with it will take you to a similar room, but brown instead of blue.
This room leads to, you guessed it, the black bear cave in (Hell)! A neat shortcut! The cone may reappear, but just reenter the room to make it vanish again.
And that’s all Takikomi added, I think! I probably missed some things, but they’re neat worlds. I love the two bears, and the octopi are so cute... Well, these are the new worlds 0.120d patch 4 had to offer! Patch 5 didn’t add anything neew, just fixed some bugs in these new worlds, and we got a new menu theme out of it! A nice little extra!
