got tagged a little while ago by the amazing @dragonnarrative-writes so here’s a little smth i’ve been working on recently (simon x reader, cyberpunk au)

2184, Earth.

you wiped the sweat from your forehead with your sleeve and let out a heavy sigh through the bandana tied around the bottom of your face. 

the weather never seemed to gentle anymore in the Furrow, always too hot and the air too thick, which made rummaging for hours in the dump yard - something you did most mornings - tiresome and even dangerous if you forgot your water.

the cloth mask your wore over the bottom half of your face made it all the more humid and uncomfortable, but you new better than to go without it for extended periods of time this far from the city’s air filters. pollution had gotten bad enough over the last few decades that the dusty air would catch on your chest for days after without it, especially if you’d been exerting yourself.

it seemed that your trip was all for naught however. you’d barely found anything that would be useful for your work back at the service shop and the sun was high in the sky now, so you knew you’d be needing to head back to open up sooner than later.

you felt the sweat gather and drip down your back and you longed to clean yourself up a little before seeing your first customer, but the urge to do one last lap around the nearest heap, just a quick peek, tugged at you. you could get cassie to cover for you for ten minutes when you got back if needed.

i give you: a lot of build up and exposition with no simon lmao,, but he arrives on the scene pretty quick dw

Currently reading: i'm currently attempting to read wuthering heights by Emily Bronte. i have also started Freedom is a constant struggle by Angela Davis. i've been enjoying wuthering heights and i'm excited to see what all the hype is about, but it would be boring to just read that.

Currently watching: i finished watching Forever on Netflix this morning! it was a good show. i liked it. i might watch Behind her eyes next.

Currently craving: i have been wanting to make tomato soup and grilled cheese for a while now. i'm definitely craving that. i'm also craving spending family time with my family in Ethiopia. i miss them. i'm also craving a hug lol. i crave touch🫠

coffee or tea: it depends on the situation cause i like both, but if i MUST choose, i would have to go with tea. i would miss coffee though (_ _)

❗️Important announcement❗️

Hello everyone! 😁 January is finally here, and this is very exciting news for me because I'm going to New Zealand!!! 🤩✈️ It's a huge trip that I've been planning for a whole year now. It will be the first time I ever take the plane. The first time I visit another country in years. The first time I travel so far away from home! And what's more, this will be the longest trip in my life. Over a month. I can hardly wrap my head around it still! 🤯🗓

I've also had some time to reflect, and... I've decided to use this opportunity to step back and go offline for a bit. 🌱 I wanted to tell you about this sooner, and I apologize for how sudden this probably is for most of you. I promise that I'm alright and doing this with a peaceful mindset! Although- I'm a bit sad at the thought that we won't see or hear from each other for a while. 🥺 It's a bittersweet feeling, but at the same time, I'm sure the temporary change of pace will be a good thing. Lately I've been feeling the need to take a break from social media again, and the timing is perfect. I'm ready. 🤲💫

To my lovely friends and followers here: I hope you will all have a great time these next few weeks. I hope the beginning of 2024 will treat you well and that you will get to experience new and exciting things. Wishing you lots of inspiration, fun projects and plenty of fascinating conversations until I return. 🙏🥰
