Being a tmbg fan feels like losing your mind.. like wdym this band has like a thousand genuinely incredible unique and experimental songs about every topic you can think of + absolutely nothing sketchy in their past + is inordinately kind to their fans + offers their music (including rarities) with shocking generosity + seemingly has contributed music to basically every piece of iconic media ever to the point that their lyrics are referenced frequently by non-fans. but nobody seems to care about them or acknowledge their contributions to alt rock outside of a tight-knit fanbase. who are frequently dismissed as like "nerdy freaks". hahahahhaha. ha

Someone should write the BG3 characters in Thedas though. Not so they can fight, just for fun. There are 11 fics in the crossover tag, which is a good start.

Shadowheart and Astarion are reeling at their sudden plummeting social capital, Lae'zel lands in rural Ferelden and gets mistaken for a darkspawn 6 times in an hour, Karlach and Will both get mistaken for demons and/or abominations, Gale has had to break out of the Gallows and is now wandering the Kirkwall sewers in search of healing...

Halsin wanders around in the Korcari Wilds, kills some slavers, cuddles a halla, makes friends with a bunch of Chasind and hooks up with a woman—who might be an aasimar?—who can turn into a dragon. He's very sad about the Blight but he is, on average, having a grand time.

Thinking about the tragic idea of Charles having his powers from the womb, and sending his twin into a coma, injuring his mother and simultaneously himself. Charles' father recognizing what's happened and immediately experimenting on his son after Charles' is born. Charles growing up with voices in his head, crying and not understanding why no one was listening to him. Charles reacting telepathically in self defense and realizing that this isn't normal, possibly getting someone killed, thinking maybe he's a monster. His father dying unexpectedly but Charles feels nothing for him. Charles blocking his own horrific memories of experiments and frightening people at the young age of 5.

His mother starting to drink because Charles isn't enough, she misses her husband more than she loves her child. Sharon marrying Kurt, Charles knowing Kurt doesn't care about him or his mother. Cain coming to live with them, Charles possibly getting a brother in all this mess.

But Cain hates Charles, Cain is also being beaten by Kurt. Maybe Charles doesn't know he can stop Cain from beating him too. Maybe Charles thinks he deserves it. Then Cain and Kurt are arguing in Kurt's lab. Then there's a fire, and Kurt, surprising everyone saves Charles and Cain. Kurt knows, before he dies, that Charles is the one who saved them, Charles isn't the wiser till Kurt dies telling him to keep his telepathy a secret from Cain. Charles is 9 when Kurt dies.

The same year, Charles' mother continues to drink, and Cain continues to beat Charles, until America enters WWII, Kurt, older than Charles, is drafted into war, and never seen again. It's not until three years later that Charles finds out he's not alone. He never ever speaks about his "childhood" partially disgusted with himself for accidentally killing a man, and hoping Cain dies at war (which he also feels guilty about). His mother dies not long after Raven becomes his sister. Cain, Charles learns later, is presumably killed at war.

Even when Kanata would've drowned himself if not for Chiaki grabbing him, even when Shu was being barely kept alive by a desperate Mika, even when Wataru smiled and tried to reassure them as he calmly walked to his execution, even when Natsume could only cry from the shadows - none of them ever resented him for it.

But Rei resents himself, because he couldn't save them, or Ritsu, or Koga, or anyone he cared about.

And that is why he can't let them be that close - it'll only hurt them more when he lets them down again.

3. Do you usually play as a warrior, mage, or rogue? Which class are you planning to try first this time around? Which subclass?

I prefer to play as a rogue because I like the quick melee, and am planning to play as either a Saboteur or Duelist rogue for my first Rook.

7. Which character from the previous games or other media are you most hoping will make an appearance in DAV?

So I already mentioned that Cole is on my mind; next up is MERRILL. Please Bioware where is she and what projects has she been lending her brilliance to??

10. Which location are you most excited/hoping to explore in-game?

Honestly I can't wait to spend time poking around in any of the Tevinter-based locations (like Minrathous; I hope we get more than just the first mission there). Their totally different applications of magic compared to southern Thedas are fascinating to me.
