A Quiet Reflection

Happy 15th anniversary to Homestuck! It’s been almost a decade since I first read it, and it was a very core experience for me. I’ve been reading through it again after finding out some of my college friends also grew up with it, and having it in my life again is so healing. Read this silly comic 🫶

My iPad suddenly remembered how old it was so had to run and grab a new one while nervously watching the three hour transfer process.

Thankfully, absolutely everything carried over, if anything had happened to the oblivion animatic I would have been crushed.

But now I can continue working on it on a much stronger iPad. Layer limit is no longer my enemy!

Introducing my new D&D character- Tovna Shadowstep, Silver Dragonborn Drakewarden Ranger, and her half-dead companion Ghost.

Tovna was captured by the dragon cult as a teenager, and the only one of her family to survive their initiation trials. Rather than be broken into loyalty, she instead carried a constant resentment of them, honing the effects she gained in her trials in the Shadowfell to plot her dragon lord’s downfall. She spread word of rebellion throughout the trustworthy members of this branch of the cult, until finally the day to strike came. Tovna was to be the distraction to draw the dragon’s attention while the others got into position- her role was to kill the dragon’s nearly hatched son as he emerged from the egg. But when that time came, using her powers to draw the dragonling out early- she could not strike. Something else came over her- and she grabbed the baby dragon and ran. Without her as distraction, the rest of the rebellion was killed.

Noticing the missing egg, the dragon sent his guards to chase after her, arrows following her escape- until one hit the defenseless dragonling, killing it instantly. The guards fell back in shock and fear, allowing Tovna a window to escape.

She felt responsibility for the creature, as it is what allowed her to finally escape- yet it was also her biggest mistake. She sought out a druids’ shelter she had spared in a past raid, asking them for help. A ritual began, bonding a piece of her soul to the creature, forming the bond of a Drakewarden as the dragon returned to a semblance of life. Seeking shelter, the two traveled along the road, with a conflicted relationship yet stuck together. Thinking to hide with safety in numbers, Tovna sets off on the journey to the largest city in the dragon’s empire- where they’d surely never look, meeting a party of other escapees along the way.

Hello! I am currently only taking commissions from friends and acquaintances as I work out pricing and process, as well as working through a difficult semester at college that slows down the process significantly, but I absolutely plan on opening commissions in the near-ish future! Lion’s Rest

Introducing my new d&d character for an upcoming Phandelver and Below campaign, Firbolg Oath of Watchers Paladin, Kasora Groveguard. I’ve put a lot of thought into her already, and am excited to see how her story turns out!

Kasora was raised in a sacred grove amongst stone giants near the Spine of the World. Her time here would be cut short, however, as a devil’s manipulation of the trusting firbolgs mind would lead all she held dear to go up in flames- her hands, she believed, the cause. Knowing herself to be guilty, she exiled herself from the forest rather than plead to the giants. She traveled through an unfamiliar world, her road eventually leading her to Neverwinter, where she would rest and train with the temple of the god of judgement Kelemvor- a purpose she would take upon herself. She would guard this world from deceivers, taking an oath of vigilance and truth- but unsure how she would be judged in the end. She devotes herself fully to the sword and shield, with the promise to herself that she will never be caught unaware again.

The party for the game I DM for, wrapping up Lost Mine of Phandelver and heading into Out of the Abyss! As a college game the party is getting Ship-of-Theseus’d every semester, but finally got something out for all the current members.
